Toronto FC Game

We are off to watch the Toronto FC game play down at the BMO field in Toronto today. Some of the teams will be walking out the players and participating in the opening ceremonies as we did last year. I hope to take more pictures this year that I will be able to enlarge without any pixelating occuring. The weather will be alright, chance of rain which should make for some great shots.

I've completed two more layouts this week! They aren't ready to go up on the blog yet, minor tweaking hopefully all will be ready on Monday. I am spending some time with my niece tomorrow as well, nearly two now, just so cute. What a great age.

Now I must go and build The Great Wall of China out of rice krispies, packed earth, sticks and rocks...there's nothing quite like a good messy project on a saturday morning.

Spring Grunge Ad- on Kit

Finally another layout is finished! My sister, the photographer, bought a new camera that I had to try out when I was up for a visit. It seems easier for me to scrap my current pictures than go back through the old ones. I'm not sure what the best system is, however I think it really boils down to making the time to complete them.There are so many element options in the Spring grunge kit that coordinate with all the papers the layout almost created itself...well, almost.

The CT team creates them so quickly I would never be able to keep up! Be sure to have a look at the Paper Tag album to see their newest creations.

I am taking my boys up to visit my parents this weekend. I am hoping to take some fabulous, layout inspiring photos. I always seem to get great shots of them when we visit. Probably because we spend so much time outside. It's always relaxing for them and for me as well.

New look for the blog!

The blog's had a reno! There is still some more tweaking to do, but it's nearly finished. The store has been getting a facelift as well. I just wish I was fluent in HTML it would make life a lot easier. I've learned quite a bit already which will come in handy the next time I make some changes.

I suppose I am not exactly staying on top of my layout goal. I will have to tackle that this week as well. The Creative Team has been hard at work creating beautiful, inspirational layouts. Be sure to have a look at the Paper Tag album to see what has been keeping them so busy.

I am Happily married to my soul mate and we live in Central Mississippi, where I have lived for most of my life. We have 3 grown children (2 boys & 1 girl). So, we are on our own. I started scrapbooking back in the 1990's, but I caught the digital "bug" in June 2007 and have enjoyed every minute of creating digitally. I use ScrapBook Max and GIMP to create my layouts. Snow, Snow and more snow.

I feel like I live in the North Pole. After a three day snow storm one would think we've had enough, but noooo it's still snowing! Here are a couple of pictures one of the back of the house and the other is from the driveway.Here is the back yard, the overhang from the roof was only two feet away from the snow pile on the ground!...and here's the pile in the front. I hope that this is the last major storm we have before it starts to warm up and melt. Sooooo wish we had bought a snow blower now!

Creative Team Call

It's time to add to the fabulous creative team at the Paper Tag! I will be accepting applications until April 1st. The requirements for the position are very simple. I look for orginal layouts created by you with my products, 2 -3 layouts per kit ( if you feel inspired to do more great!) posting your layouts in 3 -4 online galleries, as well as magazine submissions. If you are active on the boards that's also great. A blog is an asset although not required. Compensation is the product for FREE.
I am looking for individuals with a passion for scrapbooking and learning new ideas. This is a fun and rewarding venture for you to spend time being creative and doing what you love! I do not require a contract for this position. If you would like to try out on the team as a guest member this can be discussed.

Catching up on layouts

January is nearing the end and I have done only two layouts! That's not even close to what I had hoped to accomplish. The flu has been running through the house for the last two weeks and has delayed my efforts. It seems to be finished now... YEAH! I am certain that February will be a more productive month.

My recent layout is of my eldest, taken in the fall just before we cut off all his curls. Fortunately his hair will grow back. It's so difficult to capture a picture of my young athlete while not in motion. I have used the Harvest Kit, Black rub on Alpha, and green Vellum Tag to complete the layout.
I love designing and spend all my free time creating new products. Although, I have not left enough time for actual scrapbooking! My goal is to complete 2 layouts per week by the end of the year I should have scrapped over 100 pages. That would be amazing. We'll see how I do! Check back to see if I'm keeping on track.

The New Year!

The Holidays did pass with a flash! It always seems to be this way with young children, blink and you'll miss everything. Our Christmas vacation was spent in sunny Mexico. The first time we've been away from home for the Holidays. It was an incredible experience for all of us, I'm certain the boys will be talking about their adventure for years.

The highlight of our trip was a visit to the ruins in Coba and a Mayan Village on Christmas eve. Nothing quite like spending Christmas eve in the jungle! There are some breathtaking views that you simply must see to believe.

One of my new years resolutions is to do more layouts. Designing will always be ongoing, yet I'm falling behind as we do, on my layouts and albums. This photo montage has pieces from nearly all the kits at the Paper Tag. The effect is very festive!

I took as many photos as I could, and the boys helped quite a bit reminding me to pull out the camera, or helping themselves to it when I was unavailable.

I think their favourite time would have to be 4:30 when the soccer began, it ended when it got dark. They met children from all over the world who shared their passion for the sport. Soccer - no translation required.

The kids have now returned to school and I am getting back into my routine, slowly.
There are lots of changes happening at the Paper Tag over the next few weeks. The gallery will be open shortly as well as a new fresh look for the store. Check back to see what's new I'm sure you will enjoy the changes.

Christmas wishes!

Wow, it's has been long time since I've worked on my blog. It is such a busy time of year I am amazed at how quickly the time passes each year and Christmas is upon us yet again. With designing taking up most of my time, I've neglected my blog! I'll have to make it a New Years resolution to keep it more up to date.
I've added 4 new products, all Christmas themed. The first is Dusty Christmas.
It's the traditional Christmas colour, red and green with some cream and gold accents. I love the Christmas tree papers. The design was inspired by a Christmas card I saw while out shopping.

Blue Christmas just went up in the store a few days ago. I love blue and silver at Christmas, yes these are the colours I use in my house. Lots of sparkle everywhere!

We have been hit with an enormous snowstorm in the last 24 hours, over 2 feet of snow, it just wouldn't stop! The driveway was cleared three times in one day and the snow now reaches the top of the window sills. The kids are in heaven!
Only one more day of school and then the boys are all home for the holidays. It will be a busy one with our trip and visiting family over the holiday.

What's happening this week!

I can hardly believe the store has been open for two weeks now. This has been a busy week though, I added four new products this week- Paper Tears as per Melinda's request, Aged Cardstock , Alpha Cardstock and the finally finished Wild West kit.

The Wild West Kit was inspired from Kimi's Jimtown Scrapyard Blog.
Kimi takes some incredible photos. From a post of her DH doing a reenactment I started making the Wild West kit. It's interesting the images that inspire us to create. I often look through scrapbook magazine, or any magazine for layout ideas and then I just get an idea and away I go...

On the personal side, I have a very busy week starting out with a 20k run on Sunday, the last weekend before my 1/2 Marathon Race on Nov 4th. This will be my 4th race in 3 years. I had hoped to do more races this year but with the torn ligament injury from playing soccer this summer I had to make a few adjustments. I am very happy to be running again. It's so much fun though, girlfriends and gabbing and the outdoors, what more do we need...well maybe some chocolate and coffee!

My Sister and wee niece are coming this week too. I'm so excited as they will be trick or treating with us on Halloween. The boys aren't quite sure of their cousins costume a very popular female insect( you'll have to wait to see the pics) but they are vampires, ninjas and gangsters. They're not quite sure she'll fit in! It will be fun all the same, the first walking Halloween for her too!

I have been trying to do some layouts over the weekend. I realized I have not actually scrapped any layouts in a while and need to catch up. I completed one with my youngest son Evan, off in la la land! I used multiple elements from products to comlete the layout and I am really pleased with how it turned out.

The first week!

It's been quite a whirlwind! The first week has gone well and I am looking forward to the 2nd and many other weeks! I have some exciting promotions starting next week so be sure to check back on Monday for a great Halloween special. There is also a new kit to be hitting the store next week called

I am now concentrating on Christmas products. I'm very excited about creating for one of my favourite Holidays. I have so many sketches, I need several uninterrupted days to complete everything!
