Will's parents are in town for TWO baby blessings, the fourth of July, and some quality family time. Andrew and Michael Pettit are also here visiting and spending some serious boy time with their Uncle William. There will be a lot of Mario Kart playing going on!<br />Last night we went to the Lehi Rodeo My first rodeo ever! It was three words: fun, thrilling, and honestly very entertaining!<br /><div style="text-align: left;">Today, June 28th, was Noah Matthew Strong's baby blessing. Yes I watch it every single night, I look at <a href="www.people.com">people.com</a> and <a href="www.tvguide.com">tvguide.com</a> to get the latest and greatest news on the show. <br />If you have not watched it, wow, you are missing out on a treat. Basically they have taken these "C" list celebrities and placed them in the "jungle" in Coasta Rica. They participate in challenges, eat very little, and talk about how famous they are for 1 or 2 hours Monday -Thursday. They do have a reason for being out there, they are raising money for a charity of their choice. The "King or Queen" of the jungle gets 10,000 extra for their charity. <br /><br />So am I wasting my time at night - yeah a little - but if you ask Will it is pretty funny entertainment and it does grow on you! I think you should check it out, next week is the final week!<br /><a href="http://www.nbc.com/im-a-celebrity/"><br />Get hooked it is soooo worth it!</a> and you can watch previous episodes on <a href="www.hulu.com">HULU</a>!<br /><br />(And if you get hooked, vote <a href="http://www.nbc.com/im-a-celebrity/">ONLINE</a> for LOU he should be the "King" of the jungle)<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/285603020178663543-7611958268332940323?l=theconverseclan.blogspot.com'/></div>Tiffany Stronghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16887250220155396495noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285603020178663543.post-87810043310341541842009-06-03T21:05:00.003-06:002009-06-03T21:20:15.819-06:00June 4th, 2009I fall in love with William all over again everyday. He is the most generous, caring, patient, loving, and humorous person I know. I love how he can make me smile on the worst of days, how is caries around a huge sketch book and asks "Can I take it into the restaurant?" How it takes him at least 30 minutes to truly wake up in the morning, and how he knows I would rather get The Jetson's on DVD rather than roses on the last day of the school year! He is my best friend, and the best husband in the world.<br /><br />We met at Canyon Crest, fell in love with the help of some very interested 6th graders, and were married on June 4th, 2008. The year has been amazing. And I love falling in love with William each morning all over again.<br /><br />Here are some of my favorite pictures of William and I.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">William and I at Disneyland a 6 weeks after we started dating.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9F0yhbSI/AAAAAAAAA3U/2wGdNGuK-DI/s1600-h/102_0966.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9F0yhbSI/AAAAAAAAA3U/2wGdNGuK-DI/s200/102_0966.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343306653177572642" border="0" /></a><br />William and I the weekend we got engaged.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9F34ZP_I/AAAAAAAAA3c/U_rs1phMs8Q/s1600-h/WillTiff3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9F34ZP_I/AAAAAAAAA3c/U_rs1phMs8Q/s200/WillTiff3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343306654007508978" border="0" /></a><br />William and I on our wedding day at the Salt Lake Temple.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9GS2MSKI/AAAAAAAAA3k/Zg9UEB5teN4/s1600-h/Will%26Tiff20080604_076.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9GS2MSKI/AAAAAAAAA3k/Zg9UEB5teN4/s200/Will%26Tiff20080604_076.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343306661246027938" border="0" /></a><br />William and I at Disneyland during the STRONG family reunion.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9Gr2fNtI/AAAAAAAAA3s/IqF7h8CWZ-0/s1600-h/CIMG0128.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9Gr2fNtI/AAAAAAAAA3s/IqF7h8CWZ-0/s200/CIMG0128.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343306667958154962" border="0" /></a><br />William and I on the bus to Salt Lake with 80 very loud 6th graders.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9GgL3JKI/AAAAAAAAA30/oP9fuxNHmg8/s1600-h/DSCN0925.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sic9GgL3JKI/AAAAAAAAA30/oP9fuxNHmg8/s200/DSCN0925.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343306664826578082" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/285603020178663543-8781004331034154184?l=theconverseclan.blogspot.com'/></div>Tiffany Stronghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16887250220155396495noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285603020178663543.post-37579433590481323092009-05-27T21:15:00.005-06:002009-05-27T21:56:49.755-06:00The final cut...6th grade styleToday was 6th grade graduation. It was a hard one for me because I am very attached to this group of students. They have been through a lot with me this school year and I owe a lot to them for making me smile on a daily basis.<br />Will gets a huge award today for being such a supportive and amazing husband. He was at school with me the whole day. Helped do the music, slide show set up, clean my room, file my grades, count attendance, and all the little things that I needed help with.<br />Will also surprised me with the First Season of THE JETSONS on DVD. Wow! This was better than flowers for sure! The Jetsons are the best cartoon show ever. I would wake up everyday in elementary school and watch two episodes for 6am to 7am before I had to get ready for school. I know every line, to almost every episode, and still Will doesn't mind me saying the words out loud while we watch.<br />What a way to end the school year!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sh4ESrUjANI/AAAAAAAAA18/h8Gjkv0oJq0/s1600-h/CIMG2144.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sh4ESrUjANI/AAAAAAAAA18/h8Gjkv0oJq0/s200/CIMG2144.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340710927021048018" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sh4ES2x9WrI/AAAAAAAAA2E/T4ZLOs7Nhb0/s1600-h/CIMG2129.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sh4ES2x9WrI/AAAAAAAAA2E/T4ZLOs7Nhb0/s200/CIMG2129.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340710930097199794" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sh4ESd_Km6I/AAAAAAAAA10/3WzyCh4hRs8/s1600-h/CIMG2125.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sh4ESd_Km6I/AAAAAAAAA10/3WzyCh4hRs8/s200/CIMG2125.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340710923441707938" border="0" /></a>Will and I went to Thanksgiving point on Monday, Memorial Day, to walk around in the beautiful weather. I took Friday off from work to meet the newest members of our family: Zachary Messmer, and Noah Matthew Strong. They were born one day apart at the same hospital. Zachary was 8 pounds, 5 ounces. Noah was 6 pounds, 5 ounces.<br />These pictures are just of Zachary, Noah is in the preemie unit so I was not allowed in to see pictures. But don't worry I will, he is so cute with a full head of dark hair.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Big brother Brandon<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90U47hyMI/AAAAAAAAA00/83ZQYsSKp4Y/s1600-h/-1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90U47hyMI/AAAAAAAAA00/83ZQYsSKp4Y/s200/-1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336611985685596354" border="0" /></a><br /></div> <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90Uj1H4RI/AAAAAAAAA0s/9UL0-GvEbmc/s1600-h/CIMG2074.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90Uj1H4RI/AAAAAAAAA0s/9UL0-GvEbmc/s200/CIMG2074.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336611980021588242" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90UfURxSI/AAAAAAAAA0k/oMPj0SLnWLg/s1600-h/CIMG2072.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90UfURxSI/AAAAAAAAA0k/oMPj0SLnWLg/s200/CIMG2072.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336611978810082594" border="0" /></a>Big sister Brooklyn</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90VfkPVaI/AAAAAAAAA1E/-uJYQqLsARc/s1600-h/-3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90VfkPVaI/AAAAAAAAA1E/-uJYQqLsARc/s200/-3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336611996056901026" border="0" /></a><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90VN95vGI/AAAAAAAAA08/jreGLCWtLSI/s1600-h/-2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg90VN95vGI/AAAAAAAAA08/jreGLCWtLSI/s200/-2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336611991332699234" border="0" /></a><br />Saturday morning Will, Jason and I got up at 6am to get on the road and watch me participate in the <a href="http://www.runningwithangels.com/race.html">Running with the Angels 5k</a> road race. It was the first time in over 3 years that I ran a race, and the first time in a year that I ran. It was a blast! Will's mom was in town to see the new babies and got to see me race also.<br />My best friend Cami Roberts, and her boyfriend Andre were also at the race. Andre works as a trainer at 24-hour fitness in Provo, and actually won a body building competition this past March, but when it came to running...I got him beat. His 3% body fat didn't scare me!<br />I ran a good race for the first race back, and I can't wait to do another on on the 4th of July. My foot felt good, and I am soar but in a good post-race kind of way.<br />My time was 20:58, which is 6:46 pace per mile, and my overall place was 4th. I got 2nd in my age group. I was happy with that. For sure I know my body could train for better times, and I know I used to run a whole lot faster, but for right now my foot doesn't hurt, and the best part is I am happy.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg92fxNHHYI/AAAAAAAAA1U/iQfHUP2hLec/s1600-h/CIMG2079.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg92fxNHHYI/AAAAAAAAA1U/iQfHUP2hLec/s200/CIMG2079.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336614371613678978" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg92gAeEZ9I/AAAAAAAAA1k/JSubRTpPERY/s1600-h/CIMG2083.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg92gAeEZ9I/AAAAAAAAA1k/JSubRTpPERY/s200/CIMG2083.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336614375711336402" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg92gRSN0CI/AAAAAAAAA1s/E2GUrrGJdDc/s1600-h/CIMG2085.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sg92gRSN0CI/AAAAAAAAA1s/E2GUrrGJdDc/s200/CIMG2085.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336614380225024034" border="0" /></a>Andre and his awesome shirt. Oh and did I mention a 1960's limo?<br /><br />The 6th grade Cotillion was outstanding this year. It was the best I have ever seen. The students looked stunning, their dancing was very impressive, and their manners and poise topped the charts.<br /><br />These pictures truly are worth 1,000 words.<br /><br />There are also TWO videos. Our dance instructor this year is the head BYU ballroom dance team coach. She was astounding! BYU is #1 in the world. Her daughter is in 6th grade this year that is why the 6th graders were so amazing! Two pairs of BYU dancers came and performed 4 dances each for our students which made the start of the evening OSCAR worthy!<br />The Second Video is my students dancing the FOX-TROT. This was the only dance I got on video before the battery on my camera died. I wish I got them doing the swing and cha-cha because they were so darling and really showed their chart topping dance moves. Just keep reminding yourselves...80 sixth graders dancing in an organized fashion...WOW!<br /><br /><br /><object width="320" height="266" class="BLOG_video_class" id="BLOG_video-8106aee59e1b7e6e" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="movie" value="http://www.blogger.com/img/videoplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DqAAAADbdx0ctBZ6r0jjgHMEoxaYpgn_Ma6MWUJdUP0SAUxzqACn8nuJE_Q5L9FFvFj040RgL3o6Eg9k3kmJIyQuY4vFBd0VbtmpiDBFdNWXVu80Py3d2NKaloy_zB8as1GFz3iWGHphszCtxKlP6lQpcOS71Z3FLsGQv-sZWaRDpmLzJ5jJWFqzUsKMvJ94p_XboL2Q3nkzc-qx2DoKFd1JgPlYU7td4euGI-J9JVBJH6QxI%26sigh%3DW6J7p2Mm5qq2NKJmdAJQQNYR5HE%26begin%3D0%26len%3D86400000%26docid%3D0&nogvlm=1&thumbnailUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2FThumbnailServer2%3Fapp%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D8106aee59e1b7e6e%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw320%26sigh%3DDaTb4bLt3o-VHAdM4Va3Oj2jUr0&messagesUrl=video.google.com%2FFlashUiStrings.xlb%3Fframe%3Dflashstrings%26hl%3Den"><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF"><embed width="320" height="266" src="http://www.blogger.com/img/videoplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DqAAAADbdx0ctBZ6r0jjgHMEoxaYpgn_Ma6MWUJdUP0SAUxzqACn8nuJE_Q5L9FFvFj040RgL3o6Eg9k3kmJIyQuY4vFBd0VbtmpiDBFdNWXVu80Py3d2NKaloy_zB8as1GFz3iWGHphszCtxKlP6lQpcOS71Z3FLsGQv-sZWaRDpmLzJ5jJWFqzUsKMvJ94p_XboL2Q3nkzc-qx2DoKFd1JgPlYU7td4euGI-J9JVBJH6QxI%26sigh%3DW6J7p2Mm5qq2NKJmdAJQQNYR5HE%26begin%3D0%26len%3D86400000%26docid%3D0&nogvlm=1&thumbnailUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2FThumbnailServer2%3Fapp%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D8106aee59e1b7e6e%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw320%26sigh%3DDaTb4bLt3o-VHAdM4Va3Oj2jUr0&messagesUrl=video.google.com%2FFlashUiStrings.xlb%3Fframe%3Dflashstrings%26hl%3Den" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object><object width="320" height="266" class="BLOG_video_class" id="BLOG_video-172b3b43f61ee605" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="movie" value="http://www.blogger.com/img/videoplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DqAAAAJRKzAPfu3a7ks9WIkYJqTFicUXjnKHlPFkOLaCms0Y6My0tGxRs2kIMKFqkRFpSycmPQ3KWl-0F6kLhgwZyyhy103iAzaF9D0dE5m-QOI2mJ2whKYly6F1NYyzFohUD7TOJR5wGYiMDLnoNhTIcvf-qZnuPm2s4SLXkEDYVJ3jnI2xUys90vsX7XIivz9ZJo70WiOk0s1MzQmN-CSQP0jJGhpufqNo-qAONsyREU0DZ%26sigh%3D7Ji1XUVYjuVj9raD2So39CR_IdM%26begin%3D0%26len%3D86400000%26docid%3D0&nogvlm=1&thumbnailUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2FThumbnailServer2%3Fapp%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D172b3b43f61ee605%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw320%26sigh%3DiLiwUlXOAkhoXSRx7juFeXY350I&messagesUrl=video.google.com%2FFlashUiStrings.xlb%3Fframe%3Dflashstrings%26hl%3Den"><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF"><embed width="320" height="266" src="http://www.blogger.com/img/videoplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DqAAAAJRKzAPfu3a7ks9WIkYJqTFicUXjnKHlPFkOLaCms0Y6My0tGxRs2kIMKFqkRFpSycmPQ3KWl-0F6kLhgwZyyhy103iAzaF9D0dE5m-QOI2mJ2whKYly6F1NYyzFohUD7TOJR5wGYiMDLnoNhTIcvf-qZnuPm2s4SLXkEDYVJ3jnI2xUys90vsX7XIivz9ZJo70WiOk0s1MzQmN-CSQP0jJGhpufqNo-qAONsyREU0DZ%26sigh%3D7Ji1XUVYjuVj9raD2So39CR_IdM%26begin%3D0%26len%3D86400000%26docid%3D0&nogvlm=1&thumbnailUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2FThumbnailServer2%3Fapp%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D172b3b43f61ee605%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw320%26sigh%3DiLiwUlXOAkhoXSRx7juFeXY350I&messagesUrl=video.google.com%2FFlashUiStrings.xlb%3Fframe%3Dflashstrings%26hl%3Den" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SgZWr5RHLDI/AAAAAAAAAzc/4AaNDERN2O0/s1600-h/CIMG1995.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; I am not running to win, to get a certain time, but instead to just run to remember why I fell in love with the sport. I had an injury to my foot that has caused me to stop running in 2002. You can read about it <a href="http://theconverseclan.blogspot.com/2008/06/once-runner.html">here</a>. <br />I want to run to prove to myself that I can still put one foot in front of the other, and to also show Will how exciting being part of a racing event can be. I love the whole thing...the night before, the butterflies, the morning of the race, the crazy way runners act around each other, the running shoes, the outfits, the water stations, the cheering crowd, I love the whole thing. I want Will to see what my life was like when I was running. It is going to be a day to be happy about!<br /></div><b><span style="font-size:+2;"><span style="font-size:130%;"><br />Here is the site of the race I will be running in and also some LIFE tips. </span><br /><br />10 Tips</span><br /><a href="http://www.runningwithangels.com/index.html"><span style="font-size:+1;">Running with Angels - Pamela H. Hansen</span></a></b></center> <p> 1. Take time to rejuvenate yourself—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You, as well as others around you, will be much better off! </p><p> 2. Rearrange your priorities. How high does “taking care of myself” rank? Is it time to move it toward the top? </p><p> 3. Devise a plan and hold yourself accountable. </p><p>4. Replace bad habits with good ones. Rejoicing in even the small but positive decisions you make will lead to significant progress over time. </p><p> 5. Take responsibility for the decisions you have made. Learn from your poor choices, then move on! </p><p> 6. Record measurements and feelings. They will show you just how far you’ve come! </p><p> 7. Think more positively. You can soar on the wings of an optimistic attitude! </p><p> 8. Uplifting music can be an incredible motivation. </p><p> 9. Express gratitude for heavenly and earthly angels! What can you do to lift someone else and ease their burden? </p><p> 10.Learn from life’s lessons. Instead of asking “Why Me?” ask “What can I learn from this experience?” </p><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SgJbvzNzYVI/AAAAAAAAAy8/ZAuUXh2dmC8/s1600-h/Picture+1.png"><br /></a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/285603020178663543-9122703554323823445?l=theconverseclan.blogspot.com'/></div>Tiffany Stronghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16887250220155396495noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285603020178663543.post-46435570258925204332009-05-02T21:22:00.005-06:002009-05-02T22:24:46.997-06:00Week in ReviewThis has been quite a week. Will is two semesters away from graduating! This is so exciting. We are extra excited because the end is in sight and so is a future life in California. We are waiting on a home inspection on our cute house, but other than that Riverside California is going to be our future home. Will and I could not be any more excited!<br /><br />The Great Kids award Assembly was this week. It honors two 6th grade students in each elementary school in Utah Valley. I got to go this year because one of the "Great Kids" were in my class this year. Jackson Emrey on the BYU basketball team gave signed basketballs and took pictures with all the "Great Kids", he also gave a talk on goals which was really good. The Mayor and other people where there too...but as you can see it was much more impressive to see a BYU basketball player. As a teacher it makes me really nervous. I want to make sure my students are fully prepared, relaxed, have had a good breakfast, and have slept well. I figure that they should sleep more than me...they are taking the test.<br /><br />So after testing today I gave my students a recess. A rockin' snack, and then we had a pretty relaxed rest of the day.<br /><br />Right before lunch one of my students RAN into my room, handed me a piece of paper and RAN out.<br /><br />This is what was handed to me:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Se56rQPMZfI/AAAAAAAAAxU/1M9plRDRY5k/s1600-h/Cool+Note.jpeg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 153px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Se56rQPMZfI/AAAAAAAAAxU/1M9plRDRY5k/s200/Cool+Note.jpeg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327330292737533426" border="0" /></a><br />And this is why I love to teach. It is also why I do all the hours of preparations, and then finally this is why I give my students extra recess after an hour and a half test.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/285603020178663543-3844583500504634125?l=theconverseclan.blogspot.com'/></div>Tiffany Stronghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16887250220155396495noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285603020178663543.post-52739189773344670122009-04-19T18:19:00.004-06:002009-04-19T19:23:03.377-06:00Spring Break Rocked! Will and I have been in California over the last four days for a much needed break. I had spring break Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so Will and I packed up and headed out to California.<br />We had a blast hanging out with the Pettits, and Mom and Dad Strong. Relaxing and not worrying about Canyon Crest or BYU was the best part of the trip.<br />Will and I also realized how much we want to move to California. The first day we got to Riverside we had this itch to go house hunting. We looked online, and drove around looking for "FOR SALE" signs. On Saturday we found a house we really liked, and explored the property a little more. The house was built in the 50's and would need a lot of love, but it felt so good to be standing in a back yard that could be ours. Will was over joyed when he realized that his dream tree-house could be a reality!<br />We realize that if this house doesn't work out we can just keep looking, but in the mean time it gives us a goal and something exciting and positive to look forward too. (And also an excuse to go to California for a month during the summer.)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SevEASq89TI/AAAAAAAAAwE/JOweHGqoWKs/s1600-h/CIMG1921.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SevEASq89TI/AAAAAAAAAwE/JOweHGqoWKs/s200/CIMG1921.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5326566493586781490" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SevEAn-M_kI/AAAAAAAAAwM/OHn1j7Hzcs8/s1600-h/CIMG1925.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SevEAn-M_kI/AAAAAAAAAwM/OHn1j7Hzcs8/s200/CIMG1925.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5326566499304668738" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SevFTZZO3vI/AAAAAAAAAxM/9XPLpB2JmJs/s1600-h/CIMG1930.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SevFTZZO3vI/AAAAAAAAAxM/9XPLpB2JmJs/s200/CIMG1930.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5326567921320648434" border="0" /></a>Will's dad is the Singles Ward Bishop and they had a dance on Friday night. My 6th grade students went to orientation at Centennial Middle School. That was a eye opener for a lot of my students. They realized that Elementary School and "Mama Strong" is much better that the scary halls and mean teachers at Middle School. Then the next day they had their World Fair Day. My students have been preparing for a whole month for this very important 6th grade day. This tradition has been going on at Canyon Crest for years. Each 6th grader researches a country, writes a report, and then displays their country in our school gym. For 2 hours the whole school walks through and learns about the world. It is really a great learning experience for everyone.<br /> Lets just say I was sooo tired from the week.<br />Here are just a few World Fair presentations.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvvD2XMlI/AAAAAAAAAv0/FzU6lrkMijA/s1600-h/CIMG1817.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvvD2XMlI/AAAAAAAAAv0/FzU6lrkMijA/s200/CIMG1817.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324010932527379026" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvvcwMQ3I/AAAAAAAAAv8/TLJVzTKQlgs/s1600-h/CIMG1815.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvvcwMQ3I/AAAAAAAAAv8/TLJVzTKQlgs/s200/CIMG1815.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324010939212383090" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvu9af86I/AAAAAAAAAvs/Etf1dL-MhNU/s1600-h/CIMG1801.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvu9af86I/AAAAAAAAAvs/Etf1dL-MhNU/s200/CIMG1801.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324010930799899554" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvuqFsHNI/AAAAAAAAAvk/6PNj9zmRkE8/s1600-h/CIMG1799.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvuqFsHNI/AAAAAAAAAvk/6PNj9zmRkE8/s200/CIMG1799.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324010925612342482" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvuUN44-I/AAAAAAAAAvc/SAj3JpDeyXc/s1600-h/CIMG1794.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKvuUN44-I/AAAAAAAAAvc/SAj3JpDeyXc/s200/CIMG1794.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324010919741154274" border="0" /></a><br />On Friday night my <a href="http://willstrongart.blogspot.com/">amazingly talented husband</a> received an art scholarship and award at BYU. The pictures show the excitement of the massive amount of candy that was consumed by the kids!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKumLmI28I/AAAAAAAAAvU/3fD0h8MM7zw/s1600-h/CIMG1873.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKumLmI28I/AAAAAAAAAvU/3fD0h8MM7zw/s200/CIMG1873.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324009680476363714" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKulwwOqMI/AAAAAAAAAvM/U95MsN5ilng/s1600-h/CIMG1853.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKulwwOqMI/AAAAAAAAAvM/U95MsN5ilng/s200/CIMG1853.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324009673270929602" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKulXqjhEI/AAAAAAAAAvE/3EeCf2ieGL0/s1600-h/CIMG1876.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKulXqjhEI/AAAAAAAAAvE/3EeCf2ieGL0/s200/CIMG1876.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324009666536244290" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKulCg2spI/AAAAAAAAAu8/4_wiSintAV8/s1600-h/CIMG1864.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKulCg2spI/AAAAAAAAAu8/4_wiSintAV8/s200/CIMG1864.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324009660858413714" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKuk0J7bTI/AAAAAAAAAu0/Q2a5KD510Tc/s1600-h/CIMG1867.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SeKuk0J7bTI/AAAAAAAAAu0/Q2a5KD510Tc/s200/CIMG1867.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324009657004158258" border="0" /></a><br />It was a great weekend. It is now April and that was the last time he got his hair cut. Yesterday between conference sessions we finally both got our hair cut. I love Will with his long hair, but it was getting a bit to shaggy, and being a BYU student long hair is not allowed. Here is the before and after.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">BEFORE:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sdkobv3_qfI/AAAAAAAAAus/zhlTiGxb8qE/s1600-h/Photo+48.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/Sdkobv3_qfI/AAAAAAAAAus/zhlTiGxb8qE/s200/Photo+48.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321328891887856114" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SdkobB0bHaI/AAAAAAAAAuU/KyKKIpt-W5Q/s1600-h/Photo+45.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SdkobB0bHaI/AAAAAAAAAuU/KyKKIpt-W5Q/s200/Photo+45.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321328879524847010" border="0" /></a>AFTER:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SdkobZjSbwI/AAAAAAAAAuk/EtpgbN2H8ik/s1600-h/Photo+50.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SdkobZjSbwI/AAAAAAAAAuk/EtpgbN2H8ik/s200/Photo+50.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321328885895425794" border="0" /></a><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SdkobY-mQvI/AAAAAAAAAuc/mKHTyS_UMHc/s1600-h/Photo+52.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SdkobY-mQvI/AAAAAAAAAuc/mKHTyS_UMHc/s200/Photo+52.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321328885741535986" border="0" /></a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/285603020178663543-2521149146449434380?l=theconverseclan.blogspot.com'/></div>Tiffany Stronghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16887250220155396495noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285603020178663543.post-58694546372956046012009-03-30T22:28:00.003-06:002009-03-30T22:46:55.928-06:00Billy...Elton...Tiffany...oh yeah Will too!Ever since I was a little girl I have been in love with one musical genius and that is the highly talented piano player <a href="http://www.billyjoel.com/">Billy Joel</a>. His music has gotten me through a lot of different emotions in my life. I still remember to this day being the nerdy 6th grade student listening to Billy Joel's "For the Longest Time" and "Uptown Girl" and "Tell Her About It" in my tape player on the bus on the way home from school. I would even sing along - out loud!<br />If you know me you know how much I love him. I try to teach my 6th graders every year that he is THE GREATEST singer. <br />About a week ago KODJ FM radio in Salt Lake City announced that Billy Joel and Elton John were opening more tour locations on their FACE TO FACE tour and one of these places happened to be Salt Lake City. Can you even imagine how excited I was? I had to get tickets! There was no other option.<br />Will my amazing husband, who also likes both of these very talented artists and even had Billy Joel playing in the car on our first date, was also all for getting these concert tickets.<br />Are you in suspense yet...<br />So Monday morning, 10am the tickets go on sale. There I am in my classroom, all of my students crowded around my computer watching their teacher try and purchase these sacred tickets. With chanting of "Billy Joel, Billy Joel" in the background, my wishes were granted.<br />WILL AND I HAVE TICKETS TO SEE BILLY JOEL AND ELTON JOHN!! Section 6, row 7. <br />I cried in my classroom like that nerdy 6th grade girl that I was, and sadly to say still am. I just couldn't hold it in, and if anything I showed my students today that it is okay to be a nerd, follow your dreams and listen to the "best piano man" ever!<br /><br />"All I needed was a little faith so I can catch my breath and face the world again." -Your Only Human.<br />"You got your passion you got your pride But don’t you know only fools are satisfied<br />Dream on but don’t imagine they’ll all come true<br />When will you realize…<br />Vienna waits for you." -Vienna.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/285603020178663543-5869454637295604601?l=theconverseclan.blogspot.com'/></div>Tiffany Stronghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16887250220155396495noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285603020178663543.post-24170295931948911562009-03-29T19:23:00.002-06:002009-03-29T19:28:17.895-06:00"Is this real life?"Have you ever wanted to laugh so hard that you cry. About once a month I have to allow my students about 30 minutes to clean, disinfect, and organize their desks. You would like to think the students would want to keep their desk neat so that they could find things like their homework, notebooks, and pencils.<br />This month was especially exciting! As we cleaned the students found notes from the first day of school, old food, candy, gum wrappers, toys, and tons of trash. I thought I would document some of these great moments in "the life" of a messy 6th grade desk.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/ScWpzErD0PI/AAAAAAAAAuE/cu1hpRqnQQ0/s1600-h/CIMG1446.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/ScWpzErD0PI/AAAAAAAAAuE/cu1hpRqnQQ0/s200/CIMG1446.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315841630073508082" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/ScWpyVGFZiI/AAAAAAAAAt8/vsfliAPxDLs/s1600-h/CIMG1445.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/ScWpyVGFZiI/AAAAAAAAAt8/vsfliAPxDLs/s200/CIMG1445.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315841617301956130" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/ScWpx4_q4VI/AAAAAAAAAt0/qQjFXbJ3syg/s1600-h/CIMG1454.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/ScWpx4_q4VI/AAAAAAAAAt0/qQjFXbJ3syg/s200/CIMG1454.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315841609758859602" border="0" /></a><br /></span><span style="font-size:100%;">I am sorry I don't have more pictures. Will and I had a good few laughs as I told him the stories behind the pictures. It was fun to look at the pictures and remember some really fun times growing up in good old Hopewell, New Jersey. I hope you enjoy looking at some of these pictures. Thank you Mom-Mom!<br /><br /></span><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:100%;">This was my best friend, Gillian and I. I would always get so mad trying to explain to my grandpa that they were supposed to have holes for better grip on the balance beam!<br />Check out my rad butt shot on in this picture!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SbXjhVV1nrI/AAAAAAAAAtc/dseuPpRupLQ/s1600-h/Picture+3.jpeg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 143px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SbXjhVV1nrI/AAAAAAAAAtc/dseuPpRupLQ/s200/Picture+3.jpeg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311401497357295282" border="0" /></a>This is a classic. My grandma (Mom-Mom) always looked her best, even when gardening. She is awesome. My brother has a bomber jacket, and take note of my hat and my black leggings.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SbXjhcvpKQI/AAAAAAAAAtU/Dfce-_62Jrc/s1600-h/Picture+2.jpeg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 143px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SbXjhcvpKQI/AAAAAAAAAtU/Dfce-_62Jrc/s200/Picture+2.jpeg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311401499344578818" border="0" /></a>Soccer Saturdays. Wow, my shorts could not have been any higher. Here Gillian and I were on the same team and her dad was the coach. It is the cutest holiday in the world to be a 6th grade teacher for. There is no better way to celebrate the day than with cute cards, candy, valentines, and secret notes that say "I like you, you are pretty." Celebrating it with a bunch of 12 years old students is the way Valentine's Day should always be celebrated.<br /><br />I have been teaching at Canyon Crest for 4 years. Each year I have the boys in my class give out red roses and walk all the girls to their desks one by one. It is a huge surprise for the girls, and I don't even let them in the classroom until all the boys are in the room ready to greet the girls with their rose. The past two years I have had Will to help me assist the boys in the classroom while I wait in the hall with the girls. It is so fun to see the reactions on both the boys and girls faces! I just hope that the boys learn from this first "flower giving" experience and realize girls love boys who show chivalry.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SZZFDDtvxyI/AAAAAAAAAr8/SjAzK9wZ-jo/s1600-h/CIMG1500.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SZZFDDtvxyI/AAAAAAAAAr8/SjAzK9wZ-jo/s200/CIMG1500.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302501530114443042" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SZZFC-zCwVI/AAAAAAAAAr0/ZlfbUui9OJA/s1600-h/CIMG1497.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SZZFC-zCwVI/AAAAAAAAAr0/ZlfbUui9OJA/s200/CIMG1497.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302501528794480978" border="0" /></a><br />For our class party, Will and Jake did "caricatures" of all of my students. It was awesome and I am so proud of Will and all of the hard work he put into it. His paintings really looked great in frames and up for display. It was such a spectacular night! If you missed it you can still go check it out because the Art show is up for display the rest of the month, although you will miss the food. (brownies, cream puffs...)<br /><br />I took some pictures but not as many as I would have liked. Will had so many people come out and support him, it was great. Thank you! His biggest fan club had to have been the staff at Canyon Crest. Even some of my students came to see the show!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Matthew and Brandon. Brandon had at least 5 brownies! And he gave he a high five because he is usually so scared of me and cries. My goal is to be able to hold him! Matthew told me that Brandon doesn't like him either...what did I do wrong?<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SY9ie5j4TwI/AAAAAAAAArs/r_VDJjn7seU/s1600-h/CIMG1476.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SY9ie5j4TwI/AAAAAAAAArs/r_VDJjn7seU/s200/CIMG1476.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300563569425272578" border="0" /></a>Canyon Crest supporters! I couldn't get a lot of pictures of the artwork because there was tons of glare in the room. This one is one of my favorites! The power of prayer is amazing. Thank you for all who have been praying for William, my mother, and I. We felt your love and your prayers a lot over the last week.<br />2. Unconditional love is something that all people deserve.<br />3. Friends make your family even bigger. Thank you Fran, Brad and Sarah for having Will and I.<br />4. I am a Jersey Girl and always will be - I just don't really want to live there.<br />5. Why don't I want to live there? Will and I got lost on the turnpike, the garden state parkway, and Rt 1 all in one night. Don't ask. It is a touchy subject.<br />6. Don't loose your luggage on a trip that is less than 60 hours.<br />7. Target is my friend.<br />8. Flannel sheets rock!<br />9. The DELTA cookies aren't that bad. (I ate at least 8 of them on the trip)<br />10. I really appreciate the area where I grew up, it really is pretty. Pennington NJ proves that New Jersey really is the Garden State.<br />11. My 28 students are very protective of their teacher, and they really do know how to make her cry just by seeing their smiling faces.<br />12. I am so grateful to have Will and his family in my life.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Here is some pictures to go along with what I have learned this week:<br /><br />My High School<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SXwE_QhhiUI/AAAAAAAAArE/TXO7qeJSpyw/s1600-h/Picture+1.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 49px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SXwE_QhhiUI/AAAAAAAAArE/TXO7qeJSpyw/s200/Picture+1.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295112746694707522" border="0" /></a>The Turnpike<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SXwE_bAT9RI/AAAAAAAAAq8/HeUd6ORA2R8/s1600-h/proj_njtpk8a.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 138px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SXwE_bAT9RI/AAAAAAAAAq8/HeUd6ORA2R8/s200/proj_njtpk8a.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295112749508195602" border="0" /></a>Beautiful Pennigton New Jersey<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SXwE_NkTm5I/AAAAAAAAAq0/SR-3SHbBvrE/s1600-h/022296.1-lg.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 143px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SXwE_NkTm5I/AAAAAAAAAq0/SR-3SHbBvrE/s200/022296.1-lg.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295112745901071250" border="0" /></a>Where we got lost the FIRST time.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SXwE_OGbu-I/AAAAAAAAAqs/tqG9wDWyVYo/s1600-h/i-278_eb_exit_001b_01.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 146px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SXwE_OGbu-I/AAAAAAAAAqs/tqG9wDWyVYo/s200/i-278_eb_exit_001b_01.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295112746044210146" border="0" /></a></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/285603020178663543-3949468709533402293?l=theconverseclan.blogspot.com'/></div>Tiffany Stronghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16887250220155396495noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285603020178663543.post-91472394144181017402009-01-13T15:29:00.002-07:002009-01-13T15:43:39.656-07:00I have a dream of feeling betterFor the last 3 weeks I have not felt like Tiffany at all. I have been tired, feverish, slow, head-achy, green, and just have felt awful. I have never been sick this long. I went to the doctors yesterday to find out I have been fighting with pneumonia. I am now on heavy medicine in hope that I can soon return to my 28 active 6th graders with a smile on my face!<br /><br />Through all of this I have learned though to follow my gut, listen to my husband who kept telling me to go to the doctors, and to take a sick day from work when you have a fever. I love Will and am so lucky to have a husband who is so in-tune with his very "Jersey" wife!<br /><br />Thanks Will for being my head and heart this week! Then Friday Will came into school with me, witnessed the Canyon Crest Geography Bee, helped me in my classroom (which was awesome because I have had the flu and bronchitis for three weeks), and then we both got ready for the Wall-e themed birthday party.<br /><br />Enjoy the pictures and when you see Will make sure to wish him happy birthday - he deserves the best 26th year ever. I love you William!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">"It's my party and I will laugh if I want to!"<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCxdpHgII/AAAAAAAAApc/tkI6Aild8bI/s1600-h/CIMG1346.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCxdpHgII/AAAAAAAAApc/tkI6Aild8bI/s200/CIMG1346.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290254867326533762" border="0" /></a>William and I<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCx5-mIBI/AAAAAAAAApk/ljzxDj7JTnE/s1600-h/CIMG1323.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCx5-mIBI/AAAAAAAAApk/ljzxDj7JTnE/s200/CIMG1323.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290254874932813842" border="0" /></a><br />We played Bomber Man, we played Little big Planet, we screamed, we laughed - it was the perfect night for Will's birthday.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCyeEw7cI/AAAAAAAAAps/qDuTqnQ0vgs/s1600-h/CIMG1342.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCyeEw7cI/AAAAAAAAAps/qDuTqnQ0vgs/s200/CIMG1342.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290254884622364098" border="0" /></a>Cutest Cupcakes with the cutest robot ever on them.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCxOTNuqI/AAAAAAAAApU/qX9cV2jH3Rs/s1600-h/CIMG1321.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCxOTNuqI/AAAAAAAAApU/qX9cV2jH3Rs/s200/CIMG1321.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290254863208135330" border="0" /></a>Kat and I<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCy9ajRgI/AAAAAAAAAp0/0q2F07KUIQk/s1600-h/CIMG1329.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWdHFsCaBd8/SWrCy9ajRgI/AAAAAAAAAp0/0q2F07KUIQk/s200/CIMG1329.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290254893035243010" border="0" /></a><br />We have had so much snow here in Utah.
