one of my pet peeves...
i'm so sick of hearing people ask couples, "so, when you are you guys going to have kids??" why not just ask "so, when are you guys going to have sex?" it is a personal issue and it is so rude and inappropriate to ask about it no matter how close you are to someone. you don't know what their situation is, maybe they are having fertility issues, maybe they had a miscarriage, maybe they are having marital problems? if a married couple doesn't have kids either they have decided not to right now or they're having a problem, either way it is no one's damn business and it is only going to make them feel bad to have to discuss it. if you think they've decided not to & that you will change their minds by harassing them about it, i really think people should have kids because they are ready & want to, not just to get everyone to shut up and stop asking about it.
i've seen friends of mine in all of the above situations asked about it practically every day and it pisses me off to see them have to keep smiling and make up some answer to avoid the discussion that has no place in everyday conversation. i can't wait until i get married and people start asking me that, i'm going to make up some answers to make them as uncomfortable as possible. mind your own business & if the person wants to discuss it with you, they will bring it up on their own.

summer is not over.
ok really it is usually still warm until at least october, yes, even here in new england. people always seem to forget this. if you are a kid or a teacher and you have to go back to school, then yes, summer is over, but for the rest of us, the one perk of not having summers off is that nothing changes the day after labor day, so as long as the temperatures are in the 70s it is still summer to me. so :P!
i had a great summer so far - jason and i had a nice tour of eastern canada, we took the CAT ferry from ME to nova scotia, spent a night in halifax, then took another ferry to PEI. there we met up with his family, i got to experience a cow show, and then we were on to new brunswick to spend a few days at jason's parents' house in keswick. a few weeks later we had a nice little vacation with my parents, jeremy, and jen in myrtle beach. hopefully my tan will last a few more months!! hope everyone has had a nice summer and enjoys THE REST of it!!

celtics win first championship since '86
madness! the celtics blew away the lakers to win the championship!! i can't believe what has happened in this town since i moved here... 2 world series, 3 superbowls, and now this. this is the first one that has been won at home so it is pretty awesome. not to mention all of our parades have been in the winter with freezing rain, snow, etc. unfortunately i'm not sure if i will be able to make it to the parade but i'm going to see what i can do!

i dunno... this made me chuckle...

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven.

When they get there, St. Peter says, 'We only have one rule here in heaven: don't step on the ducks!'

So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one.

Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw. St. Peter chains them together and says, 'Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!'

The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing. With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.

The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps. She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on .... very tall, long eyelashes, muscular, and thin.

St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.

The happy woman says , 'I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?'

The guy says, 'I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck!'

As you may have heard the Bush Administration said each and every one of us would now get a nice rebate. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Arabs, if we purchase a computer it will all go to India, if we purchase fruit and vegetables it will all go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala, if we purchase a good car it will all go to Japan, if we purchase useless crap it will all go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

The only way to keep that money here in America is to buy beer, since those are the only businesses still in the US. Drink up and be merry!

the sox weren't the only ones who got rings on opening day...
yes that's right, i'm engaged! jason and i met 3 years ago on opening day so he got tickets for opening day on april 8 at fenway. he wanted to get there as soon as the doors opened and i was like, why are we going so early to sit there and freeze?! he led me to what i thought were our seats for the game and pointed out that we were in the seats we sat in for the first game we ever went to together. i was really confused and then he said he thought it was a good place to ask me to marry him! then we proceeded to watch the sox get their world series rings (altho i like mine better!) and then win their home opener. we don't have any details yet but pretty soon this will probably turn into a wedding-planning blog! i'll keep you posted...

more random people are showing up! a whole bunch from elementary school, i can't believe it was that long ago... some from high school... it's so weird to see everyone and have all these random memories come back... it's a trip seeing where people ended up... some married, some kids, some doctors, some across the country. the internet is pretty crazy. most of these names i wouldn't have heard or thought of ever again in the pre-net days, or even if i had thought of them or wanted to find them i would've had no idea where to look, now in about 12 seconds i can google them or get a friend request! anyway welcome to all the "new old" friends!

happy spring, and happy good friday... man it is slow here today, all of my clients have the day off but do i? nooooo... well i signed up for facebook a while back, at first it was all people that jason knew from canada, so for 99% of my "friends" it said "you know this person through jason." then a few weeks ago people starting sprouting up from high school. now all of a sudden a bunch of people i went to elementary school with are on there. it's pretty crazy to think it was so long ago that we all saw each other every day! they were mentioning names i probably haven't thought of in 20 years but remembered them right away! it's so weird to see them all now. a lot of them look exactly the same! i'll be doing some scanning this weekend to put up some old pics and it should be interesting to see what other people have!

spring is almost here!
yay!!! it is after 5 and still light out! awesome! i don't think i am alone in being sick of the cold. coming back from florida i was hoping it would be closer to spring here but not so much. hope everyone can survive a few more weeks! in other news my cold is almost gone now... finally!! hope no one else caught it from me :/

taste of summer
back from florida. weather was awesome! went to daytona 500, it was pretty awesome, then we did a few days at disney. i have about 300 pics plus jason's race photos so i'll have those up in the next few days. looking forward to when that weather gets here... unfortunately i came back with a cold so i'm just tryin to rest now and thinking thoughts of spring!

back home... for now...
made it back from canada. got outta dodge before the storm hit on thursday... it was good to see everyone early for the holidays altho wish it wasn't under sad circumstances. the weather outside was frightful on sunday... so we got stuck and had to miss another day of work (bummer huh). this week will probably be a lot of insanity. but looking forward to some wrapping and last-minute shopping. with the last-minute schedule changes i'm hopin to have some post-holiday holiday get-togethers, so hopefully i'll get to see everyone soon! happy holidays everyone :)

16 shopping days... or less if you're doin the hannukkah thing... i think i have almost everything covered. lots of wrapping to do! my laptop had enough. an IT friend was able to resuscitate but there were some complications and the hard drive didn't make it through the night. luckily there were some big holiday sales so i guess it wasn't a bad time to have to buy a new one. i'm typing on it right now and it is pretty snazzy. hopefully it will help with my plans for the website. well i hope that everyone is having a nice peaceful, relaxing holiday season and that i see a lot of you soon!

awesome. don't even know what to say. it is a pretty awesome time to live in boston! i still can't believe i got to see them win once let alone twice. sounds like the weather will be a lot better for this parade than the last one i went to... but i'm not sure if i will go or not. we have a couple people out "sick" today so i might have to take my turn tomorrow!
