It is clear that Doug is on the ascent at the Luzerne County Courthouse and the sky is the limit as to his ambitions and potential. One thing for sure Doug Richards knows what he is talking about and the Luzerne County Commissioners recognize Doug as a definate asset.

While Doug is busy making things happen at the Luzerne County Courthouse his wife is an equally powerful force at the Luzerne County Community College. Taking the Community College by storm Doug Richard's wife is a dynamic personality who is without a doubt helpful to the college administration including President Tom Leary.

Look for this power couple to be around for a long time do excellent work to assist the Luzerne County Commissioners as well as the administration and President of the Luzerne County Community College, Tom Leary.

Marty Kane Rallies to James Height's Defense

At the recent breakfast for Luzerne County political aspirant, Bob Morgan, Magistrate Marty Kane vigorously scolded Frank Pizzella, Wilkes-Barre Area School Director, for not endorsing the embattled James Height who is currently part of the messy and embattled and being investigated Wilkes-Barre Area School District. Height admitted in a recent newspaper article that he went on a vacation (along with 6 others) with a local businessman who is currently being mentioned in articles dealing with the investigations of the W-B School District. Height contends that he has proof that he paid his own way.

Big Marty Kane took Pizzella to task for not endorsing Height and did so in front of many present. Marty takes that judical role seriously as part of the magisterial cloak he wears. One has to admire his restraint and tact in being both a magistrate and a politician.

It's good to see that nothing much has changed since my last post. Wilkes-Barre Online is now running a banner pronouncing his independence from political parties. Too bad that doesn't include his being the "bestest buddy" of Lehighton the Mayor. This Wilkes-Barre Online is one for the books. Saying one thing and doing another. Say what you want about this blog but we don't kiss up to the powers that be in Wilkes-Barre but are a source of fairness and calling it as we see it. Can't say the same about Wilkes-Barre Online who can't say enough good things about Leighton The Mayor or his cronies. I guess being the inhouse blogger for the Lehighton political dynasty is a full time job.

Folks here we go again with the ongoing hypocritical comments of your friend and mine--Wilkes-Barre Online. The above comment was one of his more recent examples of just how amazingly hypocritical this guy can be. He was talking of Tim Grier, the wannabe politico who has something to say about everything and saying how sanctimonious he is when it seems to me that Wilkes-Barre Online is really talking about himself.

Think of it--Wilkes-Barre Online has never run for public office or even worked on a campaign or even had the guts to do what Tim Grier did by being politically active and yet he sits there with his beer and computer and blabbers on about Grier's faults when he should be looking at his own. I say this to Wilkes-Barre Online--"physician heal thyself." Sir, you have no credibility when it comes to public service. All you do is sit on your haunches and kiss Leighton the Mayor's arse and take cheap shots at people who are active in their community like Tim Grier. Say what you want about Tim Grier but at least he is a "doer" and not some doofus who sits on his buns and drinks beer while tinkering with his computer.

Remember this folks--there are only a few quarterbacks in the NFL playing every week but there are thousands of critics writing about them and Wilkes-Barre Online is just another blabbering yakker.

Leighton Is Ignorant and Arrogant

“I think Tom Leighton is being ignorant and arrogant.” This quote appeared in the Citizens Voice and was spoken by Steve Urban. Truer words have never been spoken.

Now here is a guy, Leighton, who get amazingly good publicity no matter that he is involved in shennanigan after shennanigan--the questionable matter about the Volunteers of America Office on North River Street, the fact that the Parking Garage connected to the Kirby Center is a wreck and a local business office left town because of it, the Card Shop downtown is leaving, etc--and despite all of these fiasco's not one word of criticism is said by the sleepy press.

Scotty Lynett never fails to be a half baked newspaper official and, once again, he drops the ball here by giving Leighton a pass. Of course, this is the same "newspaper power figure" that allowed Cupcake Kadlaboski to publish the sleazy add that smeared a great man like Bob Reilly in his ill fated State Rep race.

Anyway, go Steve Urban in telling it like it is and calling Leighton out for the poor job he is doing. The newspapers won't so you do Steve and keep up the good work.

What about Brian Dunn and James Height!

You'll recall the post I made earlier about these two clowns who serve on the Wilkes-Barre Area School Board--Brian "Idiot" Dunn and James "Witless" Height--who were confronted by fellow Board member Frank Pizella at his swearing in recently. Dunn hid from Pizella during this exchange.

Mr. Pizella raised issues at a recent board meeting and it was also reported in the newspaper as to why there were additional costs on a construction project and did his job as a board member by requesting an inspection.

Are there other projects with over runs? I hope Mr. Pizzella continues to act as a watchdog. Maybe the authorities should examine this matter too.

Local Newspapers Stink!

Again and again we come back to the absolutely pathetic and awful state of our local media, especially the Citizens Voice and Times Leader, which absolutely suck as guardians of the public's best interest. Day after day after day after day they run this now manipulative story of the County Debit Card screw up. Yes, it was only an dumb error in the end and that is all it will turn out to be. But if you'd buy into the clear manipulation and phony proclamations of the newspapers you'd think that Sam Hyder's interest in saucy clubs and dumb debit card idea itself was the worst thing ever to happen in this area. Don't fall for Scotty Lynett's BS or Richard Connor's BS in this case because it's all crap and fake. This is nothing more than a huge screw up and that's it. Ignore the blatant and phony drum beat of coverage here because it's as impactful as the last time you relieved yourself in the bathroom.

What the Voice did to Bob Reilly's State Rep campaign was despicable. How could they have allowed that awful ad to run the day before the primary when it was a deliberate effort to smear a good man like Bob Reilly by none other the Cupcake Kadluboski. Of course, neither the Voice nor the protector of our virtue here in the Valley--Wilkes-Barre Online--had a word to say about this mess. They should have because this shady effort of Cupcake's influenced an election result.

Frank Pizzella Takes On James Height With Dunn Hiding

At the swearing in ceremonies for newly minted Wilkes-Barre Area School Director, Frank Pizzella, a rukus broke out when Pizzella confronted Wilkes-Barre Area School Director, James Height, about the watchdog efforts of Pizzella on the activities of Board leaders Height and Brian Dunn. A shocked and stunned Height stood their as Pizzella confronted Height with Brian Dunn hiding from this ugly scene. Height said little as he was tongue lashed by Pizzella and soon after the rebuke got out of there as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, the antics of Brian Dunn continue. There has been no word as to how Mrs. Dunn can possibly be employed by the Wilkes-Barre Area School District and the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech without her work hours conflicting. Of course, Brian Dunn sits on both Board of Directors. Lucky us that this idiot is our representative on the direction of our educational process.

It seems, as usual, the Citizens Voice and Times Leader continue their pathetic do-nothing efforts by not addressing the Brian Dunn matter. They are too busy seeing how many saucy bars Sam Hyder has been to with the county credit card rather than doing their job to protect the public from Brian Dunn's hijinks.

We also see our crusading District Attorney soon to be judge asking for an investigation into the saucy debit card fiasco of Luzerne County. I guess Lupas is perfectly fine with Brian Dunn. He has nothing to say about Dunn getting his wife a "consultantship" at the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech that seems to conflict with the hours of her regualar job at the Wilkes-Barre School District. Nope, our District Attorney is busy checking out the saucy use of the County debit cards.

Well, a hapless DJ and an equally hapless local press are all good news for Brian Dunn in this matter.

By the way, what exactly is Peter Halesy of the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech and Dr. Namey of the Wilkes-Barre School District going to do to see that Mrs. Dunn is not getting paid for the same hours at the Voc-Tech and the School District?

The Brian Dunn Emails!

I got several emails from friends on recent postings about this character, Brian Dunn.

I get the impression Dunn really has ignited some interest in his activities based on these emails.

I myself knew nothing of his getting his wife a job as a "consultant" at the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech at the same time she is employed at the Wilkes-Barre School District. I've asked in past postings how the two school officials--Dr. Namey of the Wilkes-Barre School District and Mr. Halesy of the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech--would account for Mrs. Dunn's hours so that they would not overlap in her duo employment.

This is a valid question and a fair one--if you have two jobs at two local school organizations and they both mainly have people working in the day then how is Mrs. Dunn going to accomplish her putting in time at both the W-B School District and the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech without being paid for the same hours at both locales?

Also, how can Dr. Namey of the Wilkes-Barre School District and Mr. Halesy of the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech supervise Mrs. Dunn to see that she isn't being paid for working the same hours at the same time at both employers? This seems tricky to me to accomplish but if Mrs Dunn works Saturdays then this seems to be one way it can be achieved.

The "consultantship" of Mrs. Dunn at the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech and her employment at the Wilkes-Barre School District are demanding of both media and public attention to see that the public is best being served. It is important that the soft and sleepy media start focusing on this matter as thousands of public dollars are involved.

Is Anyone Checking In On Brian Dunn?

One told me that I should post the following about this mess Dunn has created with his wife getting plum political jobs at the two school boards he sits on--Wilkes-Barre School District and the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech. So, here it goes.

Is Dr. Namey, Superintendent of the Wilkes-Barre School District, going to monitor Mrs. Brian Dunn's job hours to be sure that she is not working at the exact same time in the Wilkes-Barre School District as she is at the Wilkes-Barre Voc Tech?

Is Mr Halesy of the Voc Tech going to see that Mrs. Dunn is held fully accountable for her hours at his school which means that Mrs. Dunn will have to work Saturdays so as not to conflict with her duo employment at the W-B School District?

Are either of these two men, Dr. Namey and Mr. Halesy, going to fully oversee Mrs. Dunn's work schedule so as to make sure that the public is getting their money's worth from her duo employment as a "consultant" at the Voc Tech and her employment at the School District? How will her hours be held into account? How will we, the public, be protected from Mrs. Dunn getting paid for working these two jobs for the same hours?

Why has the local press completely failed to scrutinize the Brian Dunn matter with his wife's employment? Why have they gotten so soft and lazy here and not done their job by protecting the public and allowed this Brian Dunn character to employ his wife in the manner that he has done (no pun intended).

I was stunned to learn that some local school director named Brian Dunn got his wife a "consultant" job at the Voc Tech Board he sits on when this same wife is also an employee of the W-B School Board he sits on. Is this proper? Why doesn't our local media dig into nonsense like this when it begs for examination. I admit that I'm not all that familiar with school board activities in this area and I'm not proud of that but when I got an email from a friend passing this info about this Dunn character on I was floored that this could be happening and equally amazed our sleepy press/media justs lets it all float by.

No Shows at a Local Debate

A few friends and I had the chance to take in the recent debate that was held by the South Wilkes-Barre Business Association in the basement of a local church. What really bothered me was the arrogance and indifference shown by candidates Rick Cronauer and Leighton the Mayor. Now a fool and dumbo like Leighton the Mayor we can understand not being at a debate but what's up with Cronauer?

They said Cronauer had turned the invitation to the debate down. Who is this guy? This debate was about the future of the city of Wilkes-Barre and he was a candidate for council with the debate in his district and he chooses to not go? And this idiocy is ok with the voters??? This man is obligated to be at all debates for an office he is running for but especially one that is held in his council district.

Folks, this is part of the problem that Steve Urban unearthed in the fall with Leighton the Mayor and the Vounteers for America Building on River Street. As you remember, Lehighton's Realty firm was involved in the business dealings with the Volunteer of America site and no one aside from Urban and Todd Vonderheid objected to the shennanigans. The press said little and all was well but it doesn't make the matter right.

Back to Cronauer. The voters should demand better of their candidates and should call to task the antics of Cronauer and others who fail to participate in debates that involve their office, especially, when the debates are in their district.

Leighton the Mayor Wilts Under the Glare of Urban!

Hello There!

Anybody reading the recent hijinks in the Wilkes-Barre Mayor's race? I see that Lehighton the Mayor has been criticized by County Commissioner Steve Urban for a sale of a brick structure at 25 N. River Street to Volunteers of America for offices and eight one bedroom apartments.

The problem is, according to Urban noted in an article in Aug 21 Times Leader, that the Mayor's Realty Company--CA Lehighton Real Estate--received $51,500 in commissions when the building was purchased in August 2006 from North River Associates and Robert E. Marsh, Jr. Urban noted that there is a clause from county procedures that are supposed to be followed in all federally funded community development projects. The clause lists those who cannot have an interest--direct or indirect--in these projects. This includes any member of a governing body of the locality in which the program is situated. Urban interprets this to mean the Mayor of Wilkes-Barre.

County officials disputed Urban's claims saying that Lehighton is not covered by this clause as it is a county project.

Say what you want but Urban is on to something here. This blog has been on the record many months ago asking the lazy and Lehighton friendly press to look at Lehighton's real estate dealings during his mayorality. They have not done so and will not because the local press walks in lock step with Chamber of Commerce and Lehighton does their bidding which makes him their darling.

Good luck to Steve Urban on getting to the bottom of Lehighton's antics.

What was troubling is to read Todd Vonderheid's comments in the Times Leader when he was quoted via an email. He did not like this purchase of property because it "wasted the real estate component of public funds that were received and is a significant missed opportunity."

If Vonderheid thought the matter smelled, then what is really going on here? Of course, the sleepy press will let it all slide and protect their sweetie Leighton but if we had a truly brave press what would they find if they dug into Leighton's real estate business while he was Mayor? Who knows.

Of course, poor Wilkes-Barre Online must be getting teary eyed over the Leighton real estate matter. His bestest buddy Leighton is having to explain himself over $51,000 he made and good ole Wilkes-Barre Online is beside himself about the matter.

Bob Caruso: A political strategist

Bob Caruso has clearly been impressing many local politicos with his uncanny way of getting to the heart of a political matter and scoring victory after victory on the locale political scene. Unlike Ed Mitchell who seeks publicity, Bob Caruso is one who plods slowly and works in the political shadows. Is Bob a political strategist? Yes! But, more importantly, with Bob you get a low key thinker who simply outwits the opposition.

All of this said we wonder if the Eddie DayNight "Bandstand" gang will secure the services of the legendary Caruso. Some say that there is a rift between these two parties with Caruso wanting certain conditions agreed upon before he inks with the DayNight "Bandstand" gang in the next state rep race. While just about everyone agrees that Eddie DayNight is no genius and used a combination of nostalgia and ethnicity to gain his victory many still are baffled as to why he has not yet secured the services of the very talented Bob Caruso, political strategist. Hummmm....

Wilkes-Barre Online is till "offline" with his meanderings. Does anyone really care about the musings of this internet scribe? Many still enjoy the rivalry between Wilkes-Barre Online and Steve Corbett but pay little attention to what either says.

Once again, we see Wilkes-Barre Online all out of sorts because Steve Corbett disagrees with him. Who really cares about either one of them? Neither have any idea of what they are talking about and Wilkes-Barre Online is a tool of the Lehighton regime. Forget em both!

I see Eddie DayNight is starting to begin to garner the troops for his next State Rep race. Rumors are flying that he practically begged Bob Caruso, the mastermind of his last victory, to get on board once again. Supposedly, Caruso is playing the coy one and is not immediately agreeing to get involved with the Eddie DayNight express. From most accounts DayNight has been nothing spectacular in the legislature and has spent the first half year doing the party bidding and stating the obvious.

Go "Cupcake" Kadluboski! This guy who along with the Citizens Voice deprived the voters in the last State Rep race of a "clean" election with his last minute illegal and shocking smear letter against Bob Reilly and Dr. Brian O'Donnell that was published the day before the primary election had recently tossed his tainted hat into the Commissioners race but was not selected by the judges. Now if there is ever a dude who knows how to mess up the political process it is "Cupcake." Luckily, we were spared of his involvment in county politics.

Time has flown by and I see that not much has changed. Our old internet buddy Wilkes-Barre Online is still a Leighton man and still berates us internet folk who disagree with him. I also see that City Council in Wilkes-Barre has radically changed for the better as old timers are tossed out of office like Vitanovec and new personalities arrive on the scene.

I still am appalled that the "self appointed" champion of the little guy, Wilkes-Barre Online, sat silent while a good man like Bob Reilly had to be raked over the coals with that last minute negative ad that the Citizen's Voice ran smearing him and ending his chances to get elected. The same with Mr. O'Donnell who was also smeared in that nasty political ad that Kadluboski put in the paper.

I guess the authorities don't care about good government like Wilkes-Barre Online because they did nothing either to address the wrong against Reilly and O'Donnell.

Watch for Eddie Day Night, the new State Rep who defeated Reilly and O'Donnell, to back teachers unions in the legislature.

Wilkes-Barre Online Cannot Compare Himself to Walter Griffith

Why is Wilkes-Barre Online, the so-called "People's Blogger", so afraid of Walter Griffith? I'll tell you why. It is because Walter Griffith tells it like it is and doesn't butt kiss politicians like Leighton the Mayor as Wilkes-Barre Online does. You know the truth hurts and Wilkes-Barre Online has dealt away his integrity by being so partisian to the Lehighton Administration. It makes you wonder if his blog has been influnced by Lehighton insiders. Has a known insider of Leighton like Atty. Bill Vinsko been successful in gaining Wilkes-Barre Online's ear? Who knows but it can be said that it is a good thing to have any blog do your bidding and it is without question and I repeat without any question whatsoever that Wilkes-Barre Online is a willing outlet for the Leighton Administration. That's Wilkes-Barre Online's choice and since he's paying for the priviledge to post online he can do what he wants. However, that bias results in a loss of integrity for someone who is informing the public.

Well, it's another day for self congratulations for the so-called "people's blogger" Wilkes-Barre Online." Here he is with his bestest buddy, Lehighton the Mayor (ie A Mayor for the Chamber of Commerce if there ever was one) in a photo announcing Lehighton's plans to run again. Wow! What a surprise to learn, once again, that Wilkes-Barre Online has his nose so far up Lehighton's arse that it's downright scary!! Butt kissing should be against the law, eh???

Now this same arse kisser, W-B Online, is knocking Walter Griffith who has the gaul to take on Lehighton. How dare Griffith to take on W-B Online's sweetheart! That too should be against the law.

And also too we learn that W-B Online doesn't like Steve Corbett. As if anyone cared.

So, go Walter Griffith and keep on taking on the powers that be. We need people who challenge the system not kiss up to it like Wilkes-Barre Online.

Here we go again with the integrity deficient blog, Wilkes-Barre Online, taking on a citizen who dares speak against his sweety Leighton the Mayor. Walter Griffith did nothing more than voice his opinion and soon enough good old Wilkes-Barre Online is defending the political establishment.

This blog doesn't play political footsie. We call it as it is and, sorry to say, we got Wilkes-Barre Online's number. Remember folks this "voice of the people" said nothing when Cupcake Kadluboski smeared Bob Reilly and Brian O'Donnell in the recent State Reps race. However, he was "boo-hooing" when his other sweety Eddie DayNight was criticized in a flyer. Sounds hypocritical to me? What about you?

Now, this blog of the Leighton regime is criticizing Walter Griffith because as a citizen he voiced his opinion on city government.

Remember folks every time you read this drivel of Wilkes-Barre Online just know that this is a voice of the Leighton team.

Bob Caruso: The Next Star Political Guru

Everybody is talking about how Bob Caruso directed to winning campaign of Eddie DayNight for State Rep. Some locals worry that Caruso's head will swell after guiding DayNight to victory. Word has it that Caruso worked long and hard on an effective strategy for victory for DayNight and then in typical Caruso style drifted back into the woodwork avoiding the limelight. Have you noticed Caruso ever seeking publicity? No and that is his genius. This is the main reason he's soaring to the top of local political operatives and being sought after to guide other local campaigns.

Of course, the local bombastic self promoter, Wilkes-Barre Online, will not acknowledge the genius of Bob Caruso because that would take away from his arse kissing of DayNight. By the way, did you read Wilkes-Barre Online's "Boo Hoo" tribute to DayNight. It's odd that Wiles-Barre Online gets so worked up about his idol Eddie DayNight but has squat to say about the nasty deeds done to our hero in this blog, Bob Reilly, and Dr. Brian O'Donnell. So, Wilkes-Barre Online is ok with a smear if it's directed at someone he doesn't like but gets upset if it is directed at someone he admires. This is where our blogs differs. This blog has integrity and honor and tolerates no smearing but Online is arse kissing his idols DayNight and Leighton so his standards are relaxed.

McGinley Takes on "Leighton the Mayor"

In a shocking development, Mike McGinley has taken on "Lehighton the Mayor" over the pathetic state of affairs with W-B, notably, the failure of Leighton the Mayor to get the leaves out of the drainage system which, according to McGinley help to cause the water/flooding problems.

Hooray for McGinley!! It's about time someone had the guts to take on this sad excuse for a Mayor we have in W-B. Not only is "Leighton the Mayor" kissing up to the Chamber of Commerce but, in fact, he has not pursued the causes of the ongoing flooding in the City which should be a concern to a leader. The media has it's own love affair with the Chamber as they are all in the business of making money so don't expect much from the newspapers.

We need leaders like Mike McGinley who are questioning our high and mighty Leighton about this flooding and we need less "arse kissers" like Wilkes-Barre Online who are so enthralled with Leighton that they amount to official apologizers for his administration. I have never seen a blog that became so infatuated with a political figure like W-B Online has with Leighton. This "love affair" has caused the blog to lose it's integrity and puts the duty of being truthful about City activities on other blogs like this one as well as several fine blogs out there.

Why has no one aside from McGinley bothered to question Leighton about what he has done in regard to addressing the flooding problems???

Furthermore, and most importantly, isn't time that someone looks at the development around the mall to assess if that has helped in causing the numerous flooding issues? If it has, then these businesses need to help contribute to solving this problem. It seems to me that there is an awful lot of flooding these days and that it's odd that no one aside from McGinley is questioning the mighty Leighton about anything regarding the matter.

A brief reminder, we have yet to hear from the authorities regarding the Citizen's Voice's publication of the illegal ad regarding Bob Reilly and Brian O'Donnell in the past State Rep's race. I hope this isn't being forgotten as good government demands swift action when an illegal activity occurs in the election process. Bob Reilly is a good man who deserves better than to be smeared by "Cupcake" Kadluboski and both Bob and Brian O'Donnell are entitled to some resolution of this matter.

What is it about W-B Online????

I keep thinking how empty this guy's blog is but no matter what you gotta give W-B Online credit for keeping on keeping on despite his lack of substance in the blog. Don't get me wrong. If you dig butt kissing W-B Online is the blog for you as you can have a turkey day feast on his kissing Lehighton the Mayor's behind almost daily. This guy is the ultimate fan of Leighton the Mayor. Of course, his new sweetheart Eddie DayNight is now part of his blog. It's just one love sonnet after another from W-B Online to Eddie DayNight.

I wonder what's up with Cupcake Kadluboski's case? Here a guy (Cupcake Kadluboski) breaks the law and greatly influences an election distorting democracy for you and me. I am bothered by this as I take my voting rights seriously. I hope that Cupcake Kadluboski will be brought to justice and that illegal activities at elections will not be tolerated. We'll see what the ruling is in Cupcake's case.
