I LOVE IT!!! Very cute and very.....CHEAP!!! The line has a "safari" theme, lots of fitted, belted jackets and print tops that will look so chic this spring. I bought a lot of things even the little slip in shoes and the clutch bag!!(okay too much time on my hands.) </div><div></div><br /><div>I just love the fact that it's trendy and reasonably priced. I love to try to be up on the trends (and I know those of you who see me at the warehouse with greasy jeans and old t-shirts are thinking, "she is <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">soooo</span> not fashionable!" ) but I also know that I don't want to spend a lot on them because next season they'll be out, so these little fashion finds suit me perfectly. You've got to hurry because a lot of items are selling out and by the time the weather gets nice they won't have anything left, just that one last pair of size 5 shoes! (who wears those little sizes!)<br /></div><br /><div>p.s. Don't buy what I did, I want to pretend to be original, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">LOL</span>!!!!! One day we hear a food is good for us then another study says maybe not. It gets even more confusing when you factor in the unique needs we have as women (though, they did get the dark chocolate and red wine thing right!) Even though it's frustrating we still have to do everything we can to remain healthy. I came across an article on WebMD.com that offered up 6 "super foods" that will help women stay healthy and strong. Funny thing is these foods have always been around and we are probably eating some of them now.<br /><br />The author, Colette Bouchez, and her medical experts* did a great job of not only pointing out the specific benefits of each food but also telling us how many servings we need. So here is an excerpted version of her list:<br /><br /><strong>Super Food # 1: Plain Low-fat yogurt</strong><br /><br />Goal: 3 to 5 servings a week<br /><br />What it does: <em>May decrease the risk of breast cancer, very strong evidence it can reduce problems associated with irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory digestive tract disorders, can help reduce the risk of stomach ulcers and vaginal infections and it's loaded with bone-healthy calcium.<br /></em><br /><strong>Super Food # 2: Fatty fish</strong> -- like salmon, sardines, and mackerel<br /><br />Goal: 2 to 3 servings every week<br /><br />What it does: <em>Protect against heart disease, stroke, hypertension, depression, joint pain, and a number of illnesses linked to inflammation, including lupus and rheumatoid arthritis; possibly offers some protection against Alzheimer's disease.<br /></em><br /><strong>Super Food # 3: Beans</strong><br /><br />Goal: 3 to 4 servings every week<br /><br />What it does: <em>Protective effects against heart disease, breast cancer, may also play a role in stabilizing female hormones. In research published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, doctors found a relationship between a lower incidence of cardiovascular disease and a higher intake of legumes. Last but not least, if you are in your reproductive years, beans can give you a steady supply of folic acid.</em><br /><br /><strong>Super Food # 4: Tomatoes</strong> (or watermelon, red grapefruit, red navel oranges)<br /><br />Goal: 3 to 5 servings each week<br /><br />What it does: <em>Protective effects against prostate cancer, breast cancer, heart disease and protection against UV damage from the sun</em>.<br /><br /><strong>Super Food # 5: Vitamin D fortified low fat milk or orange juice</strong><br /><br />Goal: At least 400 IUs of vitamin D daily<br /><br />What it does: <em>Helps reduce the risk of osteoporosis, may reduce the risk of diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and tumors of the breast, colon, and ovary.</em><br /><br /><strong>Super Food # 6: Berries </strong>(blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, cranberries)<br /><br />Goal: 3 to 4 servings every week<br /><br />What It Does: <em>May decrease the risk of several cancers, including those in the breast and gastrointestinal tract, high in vitamin C and folic acid, protects the heart but also may protect against skin aging. Cranberries may help reduce the risk of urinary tract infections in women, while the nutrient, lutein found in all the berries, can help protect vision.<br /></em><br />So there it is. We are familiar with these foods and we already knew they are good for us (maybe we didn't know how good!) The key is to get enough of each one - each week. The benefits are incredible so let's make an effort to get more "super foods" in our diets!<br /><br /><br /><span style="font-size:78%;">*SOURCES: Elizabeth Somer, MS, RD, author of Age-Proof Your Body, Ballantine Books. Right!<a href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_april-783111.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_april-783094.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>I mean really! I just read an article on how people should be working out at least three times a week for thirty minutes in order to keep in shape. Okay, so are we going to add thirty <em>more</em> minutes to these already looooong days? Because I just don't have the time! I know that sounds like a cop out but why can't we count getting up early, getting yourself and <em>everybody</em> in your house ready for school and work, <em>"working out"</em> ?<br /></div><div></div><div><br />I mean most of us are making breakfast, getting dressed, getting other people dressed, bending down trying to find gloves and hats, racing to the car, running back into the house because someone forgot their toy for "show and tell", running to the bus stop to drop the kids off, running after the bus because we are RUNNING LATE ... driving to work like crazy, trying to put on your makeup with one hand, while driving with the other( you <em>must</em> have excellent eye/hand coordination for this)... running up the stairs because the elevator takes too long, ripping off your coat as you run down the hallway and hurling yourself into your seat, before your boss comes down the hallway again looking for you. </div><br /><div></div><div>Exercise!?! Yeah, Right... because after being at work all day (trying to work as fast as you can), it's time to go home and the rush starts all over again! Race to the car, drive like crazy to pick up the kids from aftercare so you don't have to pay the extra ten bucks a minute, race home... everyone is hungry - kids are acting like they haven't eaten ALL DAY! Make dinner, eat dinner, do homework, give baths, brush teeth, read a book, put the kids to bed, kids get up, put them back to bed, wash dishes, iron clothes, make lunch, take a shower, watch the news... time to go to bed! </div><br /><div></div><div>I am probably in the best shape I have ever been in my life and I haven't <em><strong>exercised</strong></em> yet!<br /><br />Peace & Blessings,<br /><br />April </div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/28171211-7898407896188254801?l=www.pookapureandsimple.com%2Fblog%2Findex.html'/></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09182197747801423104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28171211.post-4323876934918439552008-02-28T15:41:00.000-08:002008-02-28T16:02:32.931-08:00Auntie Rocks!!!<a href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_dawn-790526.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_dawn-790524.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Okay, well after learning about all the great free stuff they offer at Whole Foods, I decided to borrow April's 6 year old and take him to the Kids and Seafood night. I figured, okay, I can learn to make some fish and get my dinner on! Boy, was I wrong!</div><br /><div></div><div>I'm pretty sure that I said William's name at least 100 times [let me clarify before April get's to bloggin' about me talking about her baby!] He was very good, he's just 6 and very busy, all the kids were. I just couldn't understand, didn't these kids realize that I was trying to learn something and get free dinner! BE QUIET!!! </div><div></div><br /><div>While attempting to batter and coat my own fish stick, William says, "Auntie Dawn I have to go to the bathroom"; "Auntie Dawn I'm thirsty"; "Auntie Dawn can you tie my shoe?"; "Auntie Dawn can we go somewhere after this?"; "Auntie Dawn I got fish on my shirt"; "Auntie Dawn I want shrimp", <strong>Auntie Dawn</strong>, <strong>Auntie Dawn</strong>, <strong>Auntie Dawn! </strong>All I could think was, "wow, I am sooo changing my name! Thank GOD I didn't bring the little one!" </div><div></div><br /><div>Needless to say I still have no idea how to make fishsticks and I left quite hungry! I do know how much it means to April when we come by and take the kids out for a while, <em>Moms need a break. </em>Of course,<em> </em>the best thing about being Auntie is you get to bring them back home! </div><br /><div></div><div>p.s. I'll be borrowing him again on March 14 for cupcake making night! Aunties gotta do what Aunties gotta do - I might bring the little one, he can't say my name too good yet! In A Book!!<a href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_donna-760184.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_donna-760179.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Greetings People! </div><div></div><br /><div>I must leave the culinary world for one moment to enter the literary one. I heard an interesting statement this week that said most adults have not read a book in <em>over a year</em>... are they kidding?! That is too impossible for me to believe. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes. My Pooka sister April shares this passion and proclaims herself the world's best reader!! I hope to one day take her title!! Nothing is better than the imagination. The book beats the movie every time!! </div><div></div><br /><div>I have to thank Helen and Howard for instilling in us Pookalitas, my brother Douglas too!, how important education, learning and reading are. I have such fond memories as a child of my Mom taking us to the library!! We each had a card and were so excited for adventures we were going to have through the books we read. There is nothing like opening that first page and reading the first line of a book. Does anybody know what I am taking about?!! </div><br /><div></div><div>I would like to share some of my favorites. I have a lot but these come to mind first: Nelson DeMille - <em>Charm School</em>, Jill Nelson - <em>Volunteer Slavery</em> (loved that!!), Jamaica Kincaid - <em>Annie John</em>, Ralph Ellison - <em>Invisible Man</em>, Toni Morrison - <em>Beloved </em>-OH MY GOD- either you got that or you didn't, anything by James Patterson or Dean Koontz is also an entertaining read. Sometimes I have my romance phase and other times my, I-have-been-out-of-school-and-need-to-learn-something phase. </div><br /><div></div><div>I am currently reading Suze Orman, <em>Woman & Money</em>. EVERY woman must read this book. It's about having financial security not just for yourself but your family as well. If you open an Ameritrade account by 3/31/08 you will receive $100 at the end of the term because you read the book. Talk about active learning!! I have just given some of you your birthday present!! </div><br /><div></div><div>Anyway, my point is to make reading a part of your being. You can even enjoy a delicious snack while you read!!!</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/28171211-2350896997299214429?l=www.pookapureandsimple.com%2Fblog%2Findex.html'/></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09182197747801423104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28171211.post-85378989966159795902008-02-19T09:21:00.000-08:002008-02-19T09:25:57.684-08:00Food and Fun!<a href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_april-739144.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_april-739140.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>My kids really don't like to go food shopping (or really any other kind of shopping) when we go to the mall even the little one will start to holler and pull away if we go into a woman's clothing store! </div><br /><div></div><div>The one place that they are always ready to shop at is Whole Foods. Why you might ask ? Well besides lots of little tables of food laying around for them to eat off of, the people that work there are really friendly. William is not afraid to ask for and receive a couple of pieces of shrimp (his favorite) every time we go. They also have awesome classes for adults and kids, and the majority of them are free! Kids can decorate cookies, make fish sticks, meet local heros (Yeah Pooka!) etc. Adults can learn how to eat healthier ,learn how to apply makeup properly and test team members favorite foods. You want it, you got it! They also love new ideas! </div><br /><div></div><div>Check out their website at <a href="http://www.wholefoods.com/">http://www.wholefoods.com/</a> The classes and special events section, there is something for everyone!</div><div></div><div> </div><div>Peace and blessings,</div><div></div><div> </div><div>April</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/28171211-8537898996615979590?l=www.pookapureandsimple.com%2Fblog%2Findex.html'/></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09182197747801423104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28171211.post-76450392049824358092008-02-18T06:51:00.000-08:002008-02-18T06:56:33.565-08:00Sushi vs. Having a Baby...the decision is harder than you might think<a href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_tricia-773897.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_tricia-773883.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Well my husband is at it again! Sometimes I welcome the information he passes on to me during his reading and research via the web, newspapers, magazines and television; then other times, I'd prefer not to be informed! </div><br /><div>This time he read an article on NYTimes.com about sushi and the effects it may have on woman regarding childbearing. Well I'll let you ladies in on a little secret..I am addicted to sushi! I eat sushi approximately 3 times a week. Sushi is the only food that I consume whereas after I've eaten it, I have no guilt! It's healthy, it's fresh (at least the restaurants I patronize), it's filling, and it tastes good! I love Sushi! There's a sushi restaurant down here in North Carolina (where I am currently working Monday thru Thursday on my job where I'm still working for the "Man") that is fabulous! Everybody knows everybody by name i.e. the customers know the sushi chefs by name, the sushi chefs know the customers by name. It's like going to Cheers!<br /></div><div>Nevertheless, it gives my husband pause that I am eating so much sushi. I told him that it's not all sushi that has high mercury levels (as stated in the article to be cautionary with regards to your intake) and it's not just sushi. It's also the cooked fish dishes i.e. Chilean Sea Bass, Salmon, Tuna. In spite of my plea, he still worries that my addiction may affect our ability to have healthy kids. Well, my response to him was, "I can forego having kids if I can continue to eat sushi." :)</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/28171211-7645039204982435809?l=www.pookapureandsimple.com%2Fblog%2Findex.html'/></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09182197747801423104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28171211.post-41371343825342815022008-02-13T09:22:00.000-08:002008-02-13T09:24:42.659-08:00Happy Valentines Day!!<a href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_dawn-742557.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_dawn-742550.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>I have to say that every year my favorite Valentines' is my Dad! He is faithful, every year with a card and some candies! It's been a little harder since I've gotten older because now he has to find me gluten free, sugar free, wheat free, dairy free candy!!LOL!! But every year he still delivers! So many of you hear about my mom and the Pookalita story! But I can't forget my dad, my favorite Valentines!</div><div></div><br /><div>Even if there is no significant other in your life (I'm still waiting for Will Smith to call or Lamman Rucker from "Why did I get married!") I know many of you just rolled your eyes. :) I see you. When some of you come by our warehouse in New Jersey and I offer organic turkey or organic cookies or soy milk you look at me like I’m crazy [I am, but that’s not the point]. I think the problem “organic” has is marketing… somehow it doesn’t sound tasty or good for you but, it’s the exact opposite! I’m going to start my own “Go Organic” campaign to help! </div><div><br />Organic means the food has no pesticides or chemicals added… that’s it [See! <em>Good</em> for you!] It’s not food made in a test tube or cloned or some other man-made thing! So, if you drink organic milk it just means the cow was allowed to graze on grass that had not been treated with pesticides and that the cow hadn't been given steroids or hormones [not good for athletes or Elsie!] The cow was allowed to eat and grow naturally, which means that any milk or beef that you get is chemical free and better for you! Organic cookies… all of the good stuff minus the chemicals! </div><div><br />So… I think we all want to be a bit healthier and the next time I offer you something organic, EAT IT!!!! LOL!! It will probably taste better and be better for you. Now, on the other hand, if you declined my organic recipes because I'm just not the best cook yet then forget this whole post, hahahahah!</div><br /><div>Speaking of organic, if you are local please come by the West Orange Whole Foods for our demonstration today. We are making soaks and they are free! [you know we like free!] Our session is from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. You can go to <a href="http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/calendars/WOP.html">http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/calendars/WOP.html</a> for the address and contact info. If you are planning to come by please call Whole Foods and reserve a space [we have to show them we can bring people out so they will have us back!]<br /></div><div> </div><div>Peace & Blessings,<br /></div><br /><div>Dawn</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/28171211-583867958079462235?l=www.pookapureandsimple.com%2Fblog%2Findex.html'/></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09182197747801423104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28171211.post-59155733232881365582008-02-07T10:08:00.000-08:002008-02-07T10:14:45.144-08:00Quickie Recipe!<a href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_donna-791959.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/biopic_donna-791951.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>OK Foodies, here is one of my go to, quick, weeknight recipes... <em>Fish Packets</em>. Dawn loves my fish packets almost as much as her birthday!! </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Take a piece of foil large enough to fold over and add the following:</div><br /><ul><br /><li>Piece of firm fish like tilapia (one of my favs!) you could also use a flounder filet if you like (I usually do wild caught not farm raised). </li><br /><li>Season with salt, a little pepper, a little onion powder, fresh basil or parsley. </li><br /><li>Cut tomato and yellow squash or zucchini into small pieces and put on top of fish. (You can add a little seasoning on top of the veggies) </li><br /><li>Top with a little olive oil and add a little water (or white wine if you are being fancy) so there is liquid in the bottom of the foil. </li><br /><li>Wrap packets very tight and place them on a cookie sheet and pop in oven at 375. </li></ul><br /><p>That's it! Fish and veggies cook in about 15-20 minutes tops. Make a salad and call it a healthy dinner. It's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof! When my husband showed me the advertisement in the NYT three weeks ago I immediately got online to purchase my tickets! Have you guys checked out the cast? James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose and Terrence Howard!!!! You know Terrence is going to be fierce in that role! Just remember his portrayal of one of the friends in the Best Man. Remember that scene when he got drunk at the bachelor party and told it "like it was"? I can't wait to see him in the role of Brick in this play.<br /></div><br /><div>James Earl Jones is playing the role as Big Daddy!!! I remember when my parents took me to see August Wilson's play Fences in Philadelphia. To me, he just epitomizes the strong Black Patriarch of a family. Lest I not forget Phylicia Rashad! Claire Huxtable has been my idol since day one! And I can't wait to see Anika in this Broadway role.<br /></div><br /><div>With Debbie Allen directing it this play, you know it's gonna be hot. I am very proud of this fact. I love all things food...to read about, watch and especially to eat. My ultimate culinary experience is to dine al fresco...barbecues included!! I read recipes like novels and watch cooking shows as if earning my g.e.d. in food!<br /><br />My fav magazines in this category are Cooking Light - health conscious, guilt free recipes; Food magazine - very small tv guide-sized gem with great quick week night recipes. (Although I am a business mogul in training I still go home to cook dinner for my husband...most nights!!) and Saveur magazine which is the most visually stimulating of them all. It contains the places to stay, the sites to see, the local people, breathtaking pictures and the most fabulous recipes of them all. I take my passport with me every time I read it.<br /><br />foodnetwork.com is one of my favs (love Rachel Ray and Giada!!) and my tv automatically turns on to the Food Network. I am also not mad at Garvin on TV1 either!! I love cooking and trying new recipes almost as much as eating!!<br /><br />Food is comfort, cooking for others is love. I have to admit although I'm enjoying this break in winter, I'm a little worried. Will I be wearing my snow boots in July? I've been reading a lot about "Going Green" and little things we can do to help the environment.<br /><br />I never used to worry about this kind of stuff, but after reading what we're doing to the planet and how it affects me, oops I mean us (cheese!), I figure it's time to get on board. I've decided to try to "Go Green" (alright, very light green, LOL) in baby steps. I'm going to start doing some little things that make a big difference... turn off lights I'm not using, walk a little more (okay, drive a little less), turn off the water when I'm putting in my contact lenses, recycle whatever I can. I'm also going to try bringing my own bags to the supermarket (did you know Whole Foods will take some change off of your order if you bring your own bag!).<br /><br />Of course, we are already trying to doing our part at Pooka by using natural ingredients and we're looking into a recycling program for our bottles and tins, but I think we're going to take it farther. Maybe go all organic or offer recycled totes... still figuring that out. So stay tuned and I will let you know how I'm making out with my quest to go very light green!<br /><br />I've attached a link below that tells you exactly what going green is and how we can start, let me know how you make out!<br /><br /><a href="http://earth911.org/climate-change/">http://earth911.org/climate-change/</a></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/28171211-7548316634547467864?l=www.pookapureandsimple.com%2Fblog%2Findex.html'/></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09182197747801423104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28171211.post-32751399345970369292008-01-07T12:55:00.000-08:002008-01-28T11:53:02.503-08:00Happy New Year From The Pookalitas!<p align="left"><a href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/litas-707607.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/litas-707600.jpg" border="0" /></a></p>Wow… it’s already 2008… where did the time go? 2007 was a crazy year for Pooka! We had incredible highs [we were in big magazines and on TV!!!] and faith-testing challenges but we’re all still here and looking forward to what 2008 has in store for us. Thanks for all of your support in 2007; we couldn’t do this without you.<br /><br />I know we keep promising to write more but this time we mean it [no, really ;)] so expect to hear more about what is going on with Pooka and the Pookalitas! We are going to pass along tips from our lives that we hope will help you too. Our focus for 2008 is, “It’s Your Time” so we want to help <strong>you</strong> take care of <strong>you</strong> – inside and out. If you’re like us [and we know you are] you spend a lot of time taking care of everyone else but not nearly enough time looking out for yourself. We will work together to do a better job of finding some balance this year.<br /><br />Our first step in the right direction is the Spa Day we are planning at Pooka on February 9… mark your calendars. There will be massage therapists on hand and other goodies… look out for more details soon. We have more stuff like that in store for you in 2008… we are going to have fun and lead better lives in the process.<br /><br />We have big plans and big dreams for Pooka this year and with prayer and your support the blessings will continue.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/28171211-3275139934597036929?l=www.pookapureandsimple.com%2Fblog%2Findex.html'/></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09182197747801423104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28171211.post-31488769143318650122007-10-23T20:25:00.000-07:002007-10-23T20:44:20.471-07:00We're in Black Enterprise!Well the blessings keep flowing! We've gone through so many milestones in our lives all in the past 6 months! While trying to get ourselves together and gear up for the spring season we received a call from the Weekend Today Show!! What a Blessing!! They were doing a story on Women who started their own businesses and they picked Pooka to do a segment! We are still amazed :-)<br /><p class="MsoNormal">They shot the piece on Wednesday the 4th of April. It was a long, wonderful day. We started early getting ready for their arrival. They arrived at about <st1:time minute="0" hour="9">9am</st1:time> and began setting up, so many lights and cameras, we were feeling a little nervous! After their set-up they interviewed us and showed us making products, it was awesome, we truly got our 15 minutes of fame and then some! After a lunch break and a little more shooting, we journeyed to Whole Foods in <st1:place>West Orange</st1:place> and they shot us doing a Pooka demo. We had so much fun, GOD has just blessed us so much. They let us know that the show will air this Saturday, April 14th on NBC's Weekend Today Show. Hope you all join in and catch a glimpse of us making some Pooka! If you're in the local area, we're going to be watching at our favorite restaurant Indigo Smoke, come on by and watch with us. We're going to have a continental breakfast, give away some prizes and sell some Pooka! Hope to see you there!<br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/todayshowone-782476.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/todayshowone-782468.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a></p><p class="MsoNormal"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/todayshowthree-748088.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/todayshowthree-748079.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a></p><p class="MsoNormal"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/todayshowtwo-785699.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/todayshowtwo-785689.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a></p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/28171211-2773376703565527101?l=www.pookapureandsimple.com%2Fblog%2Findex.html'/></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09182197747801423104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28171211.post-1163557611563079622006-11-14T18:15:00.000-08:002007-03-20T09:19:12.473-07:00Our Last but definitely not least Pooka Bride!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/Lance-Donna-dance-730029.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 235px; height: 268px;" src="http://www.pookapureandsimple.com/blog/uploaded_images/Lance-Donna-dance-728533.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />WOW!!!
