Here is David and Ed skiing in Speiljoch. David has been learning to ski with Ed (In the Biski) . This was his Birthday and xmas presents combined. We managed to fit them in over the weekend for a short break. You can see how busy it has been! well that other person just got in our photo. March has been fantastic skiing with no people and freash snow. We really are have february snow condtions in March this year

The March Womens only ski week has been very popular. Here is Sara's crew in Hochfugen. They have been blessed with fantastic conditions. Fresh snow each night (and during the day sometimes!) The mornings have been really quite sunny with the afternoons bringing more snow.

The Solo group this week has had pretty difficult conditions, with large amounts of snow falling most of the week. Ross has had his work cut out keeping them all together on the guiding days. With the poor visibility it has been a full time job making sure nobody ventures off the wrong way!

The Solo's were in Mayrhofen the day after more than 0.5m of snow fell. They forgot to groom the pistes in the morning so we were powder skiing on the piste. The sun came out occasionally so we could see where we were going.

Here is Darren and Ross in Spieljoch enjoying the 1.5 Meters of new snow that has fallen in the last few days. They where fortunate to get a brief break from the heavy snow fall with a blue sky day. The blue sky has now gone again being replaced with more snow. Friday is expected to bring at least another 0.5 meter of snow. The snow coverage for the March and April months is looking excellent.

February Skiing - Snow Report for the Ziller Valley

Amazingly it is still snowing, again! After stunning blue-sky weather for the whole of January, February has been continuous snowfall with only a couple of brief day's respite between snowstorms. With over half a meter falling in one day, we have had over a meter of new snow fall in the last 7 days! Current conditions on the mountain are heavy snowfall and patchy visibility. The Hochfugen ski area is reporting 180cm of compacted snow on the pistes, Spieljoch reports 230 cm, with 130 cm at middle station and 70 cm in the valley - plenty to keep us going for the rest of the season and beyond!

After going up in the cable car in the dark and tobogganing down the run to the half way point for drinks, here we are setting off from the half way drinks stop.
A beautiful evening, with plenty of fresh snow on the trees - and snow still continuing to fall all night.

Feb Half Term Family Ski Week - Childrens Ski Group

We had half a meter of fresh snowfall on the weekend, but were rewarded with a couple of fantastic days mid-week, with blue skies and the most perfect snow conditions! Here are the 4 - 5 year olds skiing with Nina on the beautifully groomed pistes.

Many of us who ski and snowboard start wondering the same thing: how far did I ski, and what was my total vertical? With minimal or no lift queues now in Zillertal, it’s surprising how far you can ski in a day!

As of this winter, you can now track your day’s skiing on the internet. It’s surprisingly easy: just log onto the skiline.cc link from the lift station websites, and the total vertical metres you’ve skied on all Zillertal lift systems will be calculated for the entire duration of your stay.

The service is available for the first time this year, and includes all lift systems in the Zillertal valley. I wonder which Redpoint guest will be first to appear in the Top 100 of Season 2009?

February Half Term Ski Week - Ski Group

Here are the children enjoying their ski lessons in the amazing scenery. The fresh snow made the views incredibly picturesque. We only stopped in sunny spots, as the sun kept us warm - as the actual temperatures were freezing (around the minus 20!)
The snow was amazingly good.

Innsbruck flight prices have just came down in price today from a range of UK Regional Airports.
Fuegen is a shorter 45 minute transfer from Innsbruck which means that not only are you saving some transfer time on arrival, it means that you are also saving money too.

Here is Nina's group having a break between skiing. The conveyor was stopped in the afternoon and Nina had a lot of complaints from the kids about sore legs, feet, and everything else so the igloo and climbing frame was very attractive to the kids.

February Skiing - Mayrhofen day out

Dave and Wendy enjoying the great weather in Mayrhofen. It was very windy at times but overall we had a good day, the snow conditions were firm but good coverage meant that the skiing was good. We found a new restaurant towards the end of the day which had great views over the mountains to the south.

February Skiing - Solo week at the Hinterux Glacier Austria

A photo from the top of the Hintertux glacier. The views were amazing, you had to be able to see 100km. Ross was on a day out with the solo ski week. Luckily we were in Hintertux on this day as the next day was very windy and would not have been quite as enjoyable.

Women's Week Feb 09

We have the first Women's Week of the season this week. They picked a great week to come - sunshine and fantastic snow conditions every day so far.
Kate thought the excitement for the day was over after tackling a Black run this morning, little did she know what was planned for her in the afternoon! Here are Susie and Kate proudly standing at the end of the natural half-pipe they have just skied down.
