Barack Obama's acceptance speech was amazing. I mean- sure, there were parts where I wanted to vomit, but over all it was good. He can really talk a good game, but it kinda feels like my 4th grade class president elections. "If you vote for me, we wont have homework on Friday's!"

He claims a lot, will it happen? I doubt most of it, like any politician.

So, work... Designing like four or five websites at a time... Trying to manage which is which is really hard...

At least Henry and I made a nice impact with our conference call with FEMA about the QuakeSmart site. It's actually pretty flattering, it's crazy being able to work on a design for this job.

Just after that, two more micro site projects pop up. Joomla is pretty sweet and pretty fun.

I've got a pretty huge to do list ahead of me this upcoming week, I'll need my coffee.

I'm on hour 40 of this headache. Time to lay down.

Today is my birthday. It was actually pretty perfect, so far. I love my work and co-workers. They really are something else, in a good way.

So, I've been working on three websites via work. QuakeSmart, WorldSafe Network and the new Safe America web page. I'm going to be working on it this weekend, though. I'll put 10-12 hours into it over two days, then by Monday (after all the meetings) we'll have a good idea of what to expect, allowing the site to go live... let's say Thursday, maybe Friday...

I still need to make time so do some studying as well... We'll see...

My parents and me have not gone out to a dinner in about two years, but we all did tonight. It was the funniest turn of events that I have ever experienced in my life. Now, it ALL makes sense... I really see how close the apple fell from the tree... It's great, esp over a nice beer.

Now, time for some German cake, then off to my buddies place for a few.

I saw regular gas at QuickTrip (off of Roswell rd.) for $3.89 for the first time in over 8 weeks.

Needless to say, I'm excited.

Work has been going well. I've been super busy designing two websites for them. It's really, really awesome.

School is tough, be I got my scholarship back, which is a good amount of money now for school. Although the classes are another story... I seriously haven't done math or calc or trig since highschool. I love math, but man, this is tough.

I'm writing this from the Daily Grind, which by the way has the best coffee.

Plus free WiFi, so screw Starbucks.

I got my Obama 08' bumper sticker in on yesterday, this is going to rule.

I've been very busy with work and school this month. In the past three weeks, I've compiled 2 and a half websites for Safe America, Quake$mart and WorldSafe Network.

12 hours worth of classes this summer semester. It's pretty tough, but I like it.

I'm loving this ThinkPad, it's just totally awesome.

2008 nba finals

The Boston Celtics are up 3 - 1 over the Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals.

Game 4 was played in LA and was nothing less than amazing. In the first half, the Lakers were up by 21. In the second half, up 24 points... Now, in the 4th quarter with 5 minutes left, the Celtics managed to take away the win, killin' it by 5.

Game 5 will be played in LA. My take on the Finals? Boston loses game 5 at LA by 10ish points. Now, we're at game 6 (being played at Boston) and you're looking at a close out. Boston wins the 08' Finals at home in an amazing game 6 rally.

Boy, does our economy suck right now. There are predictions of gas hitting $250/b by 2009. Yeah, right. But in reality, I blame the media for the high prices and mass hysteria.

I really don't have much to say about that, it's rather depressing to think about. It's not the prices that really gets me, it's the fact that we (regular Joe's and Jill's) cannot do anything about it. Nor, do our opinions and needs, for that matter.

We finally got our blog up and running here at work. WordPress is a pretty interesting piece of software/coding. It's almost too easy to use... However, there are still a lot of options and preferences I'd wish they would add/remove.

We're also playing around with a GUI interface called Joomla!. It's pretty much a step-by-step application that will create a dynamic website with a mammoth amount of options.

I'm considering changing the website content manager over to Joomla something this week... But, we'll see.

I'll upload some screen shots when I get home from work... Actually, mark that, after I play some ball after work!

How did the Lakers win last night??? KG = Finals MVP... Kobe is a fake Jordan...

So, it's been a pretty good day. I bought a laptop, an IBM ThinkPad T30, upgraded 512ddr ram, p4 M 1.8ghz, upgraded dvd/cdrw combo drive, upgraded 120gb hdd, wifi pcmcia card and a decent ATI gpu... All together, I paid $300. I paid 250 for the notebook initially but then got a couple parts rendering the sum a little over 300 bucks. Not too bad if you ask me, this thing is pretty nice and solid. The NBA Finals are amazing. The Celtics are playing their hearts out, shutting down the Lakers. I hope that Boston wins the championship. Don't even get me started on Kobe...

It's been really busy the past couple of weeks. Finals, overtime at SAF, busy with two clients and trying to get this v2interactive launched on it's due date. (which it did, on June 1st)

All is well there, though. It's really keeping me busy, that's for sure. Now that it's all done-ish, I can sit back for a few and have some time to get back to playing basketball.

Speaking of which, the finals should be very interesting. I'm so good, my predictions were right. Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers. You want a spoiler? Celtics in game 6 will take it. I've got twenty on it, who's game? Game 1 is on the 5th, that should tell a lot about how this series will unfold.

Hey everybody, has it really been a month since the last update? My bad.

It's been a real hectic time. I'm just finished up my spring semester at school, getting all A's and one B. That's the first time I've had such high grades since elementary school! Next semester should be fine, but fall of 08' is really going to kick my butt. That's when all the advanced programming classes come into play. I can't wait to learn about network admin'ing.

V2interactive is still getting work done. We've acquired two clients and a possible third. The website is still in design... Well, let me take that back. The design is perfect and complete, it's just the content that's really kicking my rear-end.

Our first client is a automotive club in need of flyers and business cards.
The second client is a small business owner, right down the street who needs help designing a mass mailing.
Finally, the third possible client is a local man, who needs one-on-one training on how to update and maintain their company website.

Over all, we're looking at a 100+ hours of work. Not bad for not even (officially) being in business.

Another 150 billion dollars are being dumped into this 8 year "war"... And we wonder why our economy is so crappy? Let's dig in Alaska, use half of it (enough to supply the whole US for 15 years!) and save the other half in reserves, while we find alternative energy forms.

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of these tree huggers who think there is going to be so much harm and wrongful doing if we dig for oil in Alaska. If all these people love the area so much, then go take a 10 minute stay there, and check it out. There is NOTHING to see. Meanwhile, Iraq is laughing at us, as they're paying 15 cents a gallon for their gas. Ironic, isn't it? But no, let's question and accuse our main source of oil for ripping is off. There ya' go, let's burn every bridge we have.

Watching Hillary and Barack on T.V. is just like watching Dumb & Dumber. You can pick who is who... One complains about racism, the other sexism, meanwhile old man river is laughing all the way to the bank. It's horrible to say, but sometimes I think Fidel Castro had it all right.

On that note, I'm going to get back to my chickfila. I'll post someting later... I'll probably tell ya'll how I got to take my Honda around the Atlanta Motor Speedway @ 120mph, ha!

friday night update

Payroll was due today. From April 1st, projected until April 15th I will have worked 91.5 hours.

On top of that I'm taking 12 hours of classes at school.

Drained? You don't know the half of it.

I'll probably end up going in tomorrow anyways to fix Deborah's computer. (There's always something funny going on with that machine)

It's still a blast and a great place to work for.

GE went down almost 5 points today. I've been trying to keep an eye out for some companies. GE, along with CitiGroup (symbol "C") and Apple. Earlier in March CitiGroup was down to just 19 points, then five weeks later bounced back to 28 points. I still kick myself in the rear end for not acting on my instinct. I swore the next time it hits under 20 I'll put in a few shares. Apple, on the other hand will be more of a long term investment. No time soon, but ya' know... it can't hurt to dream.

I'm also in the process of starting up my own business. Mainly specializing in design and marketing. From web development to wedding photography. It's still really up in the air, but it's a realistic goal I have set for myself. I love working, however, it would be amazing to have some side cash flow to keep the creditors at bay.

On a side note, we've been working on setting up WordPress on our Unix machine at the office, and I'm really consider merging my blog with WordPress, instead of the rather restrictive Blogger.

google small business solutions

Every Monday I can't help but to think about that Career Builder commercial where everybody wakes up before sun rise to try to deflect the sun light. There is even one man who drags his mattress to the top of a hill to shield himself.

Is it possible that through out humanity the only thing we can all agree on is how bad Monday's suck?

Mike and I have made a great discovery via Google. I know, I know, you people like to knock Google like you knock Microsoft and Walmart.

However, I think that the Google solutions are great! Here's my example.

Instead of using an Outlook Exchange server to manage our inner office emails we can just switch to Google's Gmail which will allow you to have customized @ extensions to match your current domain or company name.

With the allowance of 6gb's per users (limited to 100) you can not beat that for free!

Even better, instead of relying on Outlook calendar's or third party networking calender programs, you can do this all free, networked, and web-based:

You can also share documents via the Google Docs:

Even better, for inner office you can use the web-based chat client Google includes for free. This is perfect for communicating important information with out interrupting a meeting, or getting off your lazy ass!

The last thing I'd like to share is the ability for every client on our network to have their own personal webspace with blogs, pictures, etc. It's a great little addition that most people seem to over look.

Anyways, we'll see where it takes us. Hopefully, Google will treat the people right.

I need to get back to work over here though, Retrospect seems to be neglecting a couple of our people on the backup cycle. Damn Windows firewall.

update on life pt 7823

It's been a long time since I've updated. Sorry, and or my bad.

I rolled my ankle two weeks ago playing basketball with some ballers @ GA Tech. I went up for the rebound along with some other person who landed on my back, cause my ankle to pretty much just like snap. I had to get an x-ray to verify it wasn't broken, though it wasn't, the doctor said it was pretty damn close. Now, it's a lot better, I can move fast, but not run yet. Thus no basketball, but I've managed to be able to move around enough to shoot a little, ya know?

Work as been going well. The basketball league ended, and I'm kinda sad. I miss the kids already, it kinda is weird how you kinda take them is as real friends... Hmm... Another one is starting up next week, but I miss THOSE kids, they were sooooo fun!

So I'm now the primary I.T. person at my other job. It's pretty awesome, I like having the irresponsibility and trust to take care of business. It's awesome though, I've been learning a lot that I can apply to school and future professional environments.

I also started back up the new semester at school. I'm only taking two classes this semester because there were so many screw-ups when I initially registered. It's all good though, the classes are very cool and it works actually well with my schedule now.

The Prelude is running kinda shitty, but could be worse. I realized I have a nail in one of my tires from the construction at the Y. Adding to that, my A/C belt is falling apart and the pulley needs to be adjusted. I mean it shouldn't be more than two hundred bucks tops, I know nothing big, but ofcourse, it does suck. Let's break it down

New tires (mounted, balanced etc): $84.88
Alignment afterwards: $49.99 (with coupon)
A/C Belt: $20.00
Pulley (worse case) $94.99

Sub total (rounding up):
Worse Case: $250.00 (plus tax)
As expected: $155.00 (plus tax)

Yeah, so it's all good. I'm expecting my $600.00 tax refund check from good ol' W here in June. I guess all you can do is play it by ear.

I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW....

It's been a while since the last update, and I'm sorry.

My classes just started back up and I'm working full time as the I.T. analyst @ SAF. To add to the chaos, I'm also coaching Basketball for 4/5 year olds on the weekends.

In between all of that, I finally got my new..ish car. A 2001 Honda Prelude!

I PROMISE I will have a worthy post be the end of the week, recapping everything that's been going on.
