My Box of Clocks......

I recently joined the on line class, "From here to Arternity", sponsored by Artella. You can get more info by clicking on the box on the side bar. One of the projects I'm doing is this beautiful clock box, I just love it. I printed out most of the images, cut out others, glued them on, decoupaged the box, added a few of Tim's clear elements, and wowza! Working on the lid for another class, and hope to share that tomorrow. The class is way awesome! hugz.....

The possibilities of the new light and bright alcohol inks inkspired me to make the card that follows....I entered it into the monthly challenge at the yahoo group, Gingersnap Creations,(link is to the blog) and was so lucky to be chosen for the Home Page Art Contest! I'll explain below how it came about.

My friend Martha asked me to explain how I did this. I did find the Thomas Kincade stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms very intimidating when they first came out, so if you feel the same way, you aren't alone. I'm not a "color er", I don't own a Copic....hate to stay in the lines kinda' gal...so mostly I use the TK stamps with background techniques, it makes life much easier, and I do get to enjoy making cards with these beautiful images. Using the new lites & brites, I dabbed a little of 1 color on the craft sheet, using the ink tool, I pounced lightly into the ink, pounced off to start light and with the stamp in front of me, just kinda' pounced the ink onto the glossy cs where I thought the image would hit. (I have a dear friend that always does it the other way....stamps first, then adds color....perfection!), but that is not "me". I like the "take a chance tech", add your colors, then stamp . I sometimes used 2/3 colors on top of each other on this piece, as they all layer up so nicely. I did dab extra color to the flowers and the man's shirt after I stamped tho! 3 Little Munchkins....

I created this 6x6 scrapbook page for the Stamp Out Alzheimer's KSS challenge, "Remembering someone you love"............Where have all the years gone so quickly? It all happens so fast, but you always look back, smile....and remember.

Yep, these are mine....Jay-5, Lisa-3, and Larry-1, ah 'the good ol' days'! I distressed the background paper with inks, stamped on the swirl, and added the butterflies on pop-ups. It is so amazing to me to watch the colors pop when you use the KSS stamps. In real life the butterflies appear metallic. This was the first time I used colored card stock, then I stamped layer 1 in the matching ink, layer 2 is the coordinating color, and layer 3 is navy on them all. Butterfly Bingo

This is my entry for the KSS, Kitchen Sink Stamps, challenge #13, Running with Scissors.

I used the 3 step Butterflies set for my project. Of course it had to be something grunged and altered....wha-la, Red, White and Blue Butterfly Bingo For Memorial Day! This is how it looks hanging on a small wall in my hallway. I think it's just too kewl! The Butterflies were done with red,white and blue inks, altered with some bling and Glossy Accents. I curled them on a wooden pencil and adhered them with pop ups. The Bingo card is sprayed with red, white and blue color wash, and then I applied the Bingo Blast technique from the TJNL, using what else, red, white and blue! This was a fun challenge. The trees (ISC) are done on a Spectrum Roll bg (TJNL), for a Spring Skinny Book from one of my other yahoo groups.

I recently held a fat book swap in another of my groups, I made the covers and bound the books.........what a cute book it turned out to be. Have I told you how much I love my BIA! thanks GF's.....hugz...

My Muse is Returning...

These are 1/2 the pages from a Butterfly Book swap I just completed in one of the yahoo groups I belong to. The books were from Michael's $1. section, papers are from Graphic 45. It was a little out of my comfort zone, but I am happy with the end result, and I hope the gal who gets it loves it as much as I do. (Don't you hate to give your stuff away sometimes?!!! I know I do!) hugz....P.S. The egg is still standing, and it's been 11 days now! See...........the world is FLAT!!!!

For my friends that live in trees, or maybe it's just CA......geesh! I can't believe you...at all. On the first day of Spring and the first day of Fall, just take out the egg, and it will stand up, if the timing/earth is correct. Now.....it stood for me when I got up first thing this a.m., but when I called my daughter in a later time zone, hers would not stand yet! Sometimes it will stay up for as long as 4-5 days. If you look close at the photo, you can see it is right out of the fridge, has moisture on it. And..........of course, it's a RAW egg! Last year, one of my granddaughters got so excited, she stood almost a dozen!! ok, the truth here is I DO have my tinfoil hat on too...that always helps! warm huggerz..........

It's the day of the Equinox!..............do you know where your eggs are?!! I wonder how many of you out there in bloggerland have ever tried this.....it always amazes me, and brings back childhood memories of my Dad doing this very same thing! Playing with Tim

I had the opportunity to play with one of the new tech's Tim Holtz posted....using canned air. This is fun, and each one comes out different. I don't have any of the new light and bright alcohol inks yet, so I used some beautiful translucent inks I bought at a sale on one card, and Radiant Rain Dabbers on the other. They both have their merits...altho the RRain dabbers really are pretty in real life. The first card using Cornish Heritage Farm stamps and inks....the 2nd is Artistic Outpost stamps and RRain. hugz.....

Faux Solder

My first attempt at "faux soldering", and I just love it. It's done in the hot pot, using platinum Utee, and it is so easy, fast and just too kewl. I can solder, don't like anything much about it at all....the worse is the clean up afterwards, it you don't clean it up right, it corrodes and gets nasty looking. Doing the soldering this way, no mess, no fuss, no procrastinating! Try it, you'll love it. This is a little 3x3 for the "Under Glass" swap at my Art4daSoul yahoo group. The picture is scanned in, so it's a little fuzzy, sorry. Come check us out! We are a small group of fun gals. hugz....
