This is the Year of the Veteran and New Zealand has honoured those who served overseas. But Griffith Campbell MacLaurin, who was killed in action 70 years ago, has received no such recognition.
He and a comrade-in-arms, New Zealand-born Steve Yates, were killed in November 1936, the first of thousands of New Zealanders to die while fighting fascism.
Although MacLaurin was an outstanding student at Auckland Grammar School and Auckland University College and went on a scholarship to Cambridge University, his name is not on the rolls of honour of these institutions.
MacLaurin did not die for king and country, but fought as a volunteer with the International Brigade in the Spanish Civil War of 1936 to 1939, defending republican Spain against General Franco's fascists.
The International Brigade was made up of volunteers from throughout the world who came to support the Spanish Republic's fight against a right-wing military coup. The volunteers saw Spain as the last chance to stop fascism without another world war.

By November 1936, Franco's troops, supported and armed by Hitler and Mussolini, were poised to take Madrid.
MacLaurin was with the International Brigade when they first marched down the Gran Via, the main street of the Spanish capital, on November 8 that year.
Their arrival was a turning point, boosting the morale of Madrid's people and playing an important role in halting the fascist advance.
MacLaurin, Mac to his friends, was an unlikely candidate to fight for a left-wing cause on the other side of the world.
The family lived in Remuera and his father, Kenneth, was headmaster of Westmere School.

From his early days Griff MacLaurin pursued the family interest in scholarship rather than politics. His father instilled in him a love of history and his mother, Gwladys, taught him French.
His uncle, James Scott MacLaurin, had been New Zealand's foremost analytical chemist.
Another uncle, Richard Cockburn MacLaurin, was an outstanding mathematician and legal scholar who won a scholarship to Cambridge and was foundation professor of mathematics at Victoria University College in Wellington.
He became president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1909 until his death in 1920. Under his presidency MIT was reformed into a world-class research and teaching institute.
Griff MacLaurin's early career indicated that he would follow in the footsteps of his distinguished uncles. He went to Hamilton High School and then Auckland Grammar, where he won a national scholarship to attend university.
At Auckland University College he specialised in mathematics, winning the Sir George Grey Scholarship. MacLaurin took a BA degree in 1930, followed by a master's with first-class honours, the Cook Prize, and a post-graduate scholarship in arts.
In 1932 he arrived at St John's College, Cambridge University, which his Uncle Richard had attended.

Author James McNeish, while researching for his forthcoming book on Paddy Costello, the noted New Zealand linguist who was MacLaurin's best friend at Cambridge, found that MacLaurin was not a success at Cambridge.
He struggled with his honours mathematics papers and scraped through with a third.
McNeish speculates that MacLaurin was overwhelmed by the intellectual level of Cambridge, but it may be that an interest in social life overcame scholarship.
He joined the University Conservative Association on his arrival at Cambridge and his bright manner, sports skills and friendliness allowed him to mix easily with the upper-class types.
His tutor, James Wordie, a veteran of Shackleton's Endurance expedition, instilled MacLaurin with a desire to travel and a visit to Germany in 1933, soon after the Nazis took power, profoundly changed Griff's world view. MacLaurin, who spoke German and French, spent four months in Freiburg. His experience made him a staunch anti-fascist and the impact of the Depression on working people led him to question capitalist economics.

MacLaurin made a thorough study of socialist literature and joined the very active Cambridge University Socialist Association.
When he graduated in 1934 he taught mathematics at secondary schools in Glasgow and St Peter's in York. It was was his social life rather than his socialism that landed him in trouble and MacLaurin was sacked from St Peter's after a drinking session. By this time, he had joined the Communist Party and considered politics more important than teaching or studying mathematics.
Returning to Cambridge, he set up a successful radical bookshop, which was highly regarded by publisher Victor Gollancz of the Left Book Club.
The shop became the social centre of the left-wing scene at Cambridge, where Griff may have been part of the inner circle of communists that produced Cambridge spies Philby, Maclean, Burgess and Blunt. MacLaurin's social life also had an aspect of mystery to it, as he became married without telling his family in New Zealand. He began to learn Spanish with the intention of visiting Spain, but his plans took on more immediacy after the outbreak of the civil war in July 1936.
The Communist Party was instrumental in organising volunteers to fight in the International Brigade.

British Communist Party leader Harry Pollitt had heard that machine-gunners were needed in Spain and he asked MacLaurin - who had been trained to use a Lewis gun when in his school OTC cadet corps - to join the International Brigade.
MacLaurin agreed, left his bookshop in the care of his wife, and was off to Spain within the week with the first organised group of 11 volunteers from Britain, led by the Cambridge poet John Cornford.
MacLaurin's group arrived in Madrid with the International Brigade on November 8, 1936.
MacLaurin, with New Zealand-born Londoner Steve Yates and two others formed a machine-gun team.
They were sent to defend the Faculty of Philosophy at the University City, a part of Madrid under attack from Franco's forces, backed by German and Italian tanks, artillery and aircraft.
On November 9, in savage fighting at the parkland of Casa del Campo, MacLaurin's machine-gun unit remained behind to cover the retreat of their comrades.
Only one of the team survived the fight.
Cornford, who was killed in Spain a month later, paid MacLaurin this tribute: "If you meet any of his pals tell them he did well here and died bloody well. It's always the best seem to get the worst."

Cambridge activists commemorated the two Cambridge men with the Cornford-MacLaurin Memorial Fund, raising money for Spain.
MacLaurin's parents did not know he had gone to Spain until they received a telegram with the news of their son's death.
They became very active fundraisers for the Auckland branch of the Spanish Medical Aid Committee.
About 20 New Zealanders went to Spain with the International Brigade as soldiers or medical personnel.
Along with Griff MacLaurin and Steve Yates, four other New Zealanders were killed in Spain - our first casualties in the fight against the dictators.
The MacLaurin Chapel at Auckland University is one of the many memorials to our New Zealand war dead.
It was built by Griff MacLaurin's cousin, dairy industrialist William Goodfellow, in honour of his own son, Richard MacLaurin Goodfellow, who was killed in World War II.
But although his cousin Richard is honoured for the part he played in fighting fascism, Griff MacLaurin and his International Brigade comrades have no memorial in New Zealand.

Tourists travelling through Marlborough were given an unpleasant welcome coming into Spring Creek this morning, with racist symbols and slogans scrawled across speed signs on both sides of the township.

Four of the 80kmh speed signs on State Highway 1 had been vandalised with white paint overnight, with swastikas and "NZ Only Land" written on them.

Grant Brown, manager of Swampy's Backpackers in Spring Creek, said most of their guests came from overseas and he doubted the vandalism was the work of locals.

"Some of the people living here give the backpackers a bit of stick when they go over to the pub, but it's all in good fun. I reckon it was probably just some idiots passing through who jumped out of their car and did it."

Mr Brown said there had been the odd piece of tagging in the neighbouring railway yard, but he had never heard of any similar racist graffiti.

"It's not a very good look, is it? Hopefully somebody will get it cleaned up soon."

Marlborough Roads roading engineer Steve Murrin said it was the first time he had heard of swastikas being sprayed on signs but vandalism was an on-going problem.

People painting words on signs, knocking them over or shooting bullets through them caused about $50,000 of damage annually. As this cost is borne by ratepayers he urged people who saw vandals in action to contact the police.

He said a small number of culprits had been apprehended over the past year and were made to pay for the damage they caused. A Give Way sign would cost about $300, but the big signs at the entrances to Spring Creek cost about $6000, he said.

Mr Murrin said he would organise to have the signs cleaned as soon as possible.

Constable Dan Mattison of Blenheim police said local officers were familiar with this type of graffiti, but "nothing of this kind" occurring in Marlborough had been reported to them recently.

Although racist graffiti is rare in Marlborough, tagging has been on the increase in the last few years, with silver paint scrawled across private properties along Scott St in Blenheim in September.

However in 2003 a large red swastika was splashed in blood red paint on the Marlborough District Council administration building, along with the words "Honour the Treaty".

Last week it was revealed that American Nazis had set up two chapters of the National Socialist Movement in New Zealand to spread their message of white supremacy.

The Minneapolis-based hate group were linked with the extreme right-wing New Zealand National Front political party. Two members of that party were jailed last year for the vandalism of six Muslim mosques and cultural centres in Auckland.

And the deputy leader of the National Socialist Movement last night told Sunday News he plans to set up multiple chapters of the high profile US white power group across New Zealand.

"we want more chapters in New Zealand. I would like to see dozens of chapters," Colonel Tim Bishop said.

And the Minneapolis based hate group-which uses nazi Germanys Swastika- has branches in most US states and has spread to the UK, Sweden and South Africa.

"We're a white rights organisation, we're here to safeguard our people and safeguard our culture and in New Zealand to organise the people who founded New Zealand," Bishop said.

A Sunday News investigation has revealed one of the National Socialist Movement's Kiwi chapters is right wing political party the New Zealand National Front.

Historically, Resistance has taken differant forms and shapes, depending on historical circumstances, ranging from armed struggles against fascist forces to educational projects on issues of discrimination.
It has been argued that a combination of both physical as well as ideological opposition to fascism has been the most effective means of combating the extreme right.
Different groups of individuals took part in different kinds of resistance.
Today we do not have to emulate them literally but we should know about the diversity of traditions of resistance. Its diversity is also reflected in arts, music and writing.

In order to work together it is essential to understand and respect each others traditions and veiwpoints: in a joint struggle there is a place for everyone.

Solidarity is the key to success.

The policy of 'NO PLATFORM' should be taken into account in all anti-racist activities.
It states that fascists, who fundamentally disagree with democracy and the idea of free speech, should not be given the right to a public forum. When they are allowed to speak publically they stir up racial hatred. Debating with them on a equal footing gives them the feeling that they should be taken seriously.

The extreme Neo-Nazi group, the national front, were herded like bald sheep by police on Saturday through Wellingtons Parliment grounds. Over 100 Anti Racist activists denied the Fascists the Cenotaph. Black clad Anti-Fascists waved flags and chanted 'Nazi Scum on the run!' as the national front were stopped by police from approaching the Wellington War Memorial Cenotaph and sheperded up to parliament grounds.

2 ex-members of the national front,new right members George Walters and his manfriend Steve were given short shrift and chased off before the boneheads of the national front could show.

Anti Racists broke off from the main group of Anti Fascists to harass the neo nazis as they were led to parliament. The collective group of Anti Fascists soon surrounded the nazis and drowned out sid squids attempts to read his speech of race-hate with stirring chants of 'Nazi Scum, Fuck off!','Sids a Muppet!', 'More hair than brains' and 'No room for Racism in New Zealand!'. The Police and Paliamentary Security had their hands full stopping the Anti Racists from swamping the grinning, ape like members of the national front.

Although sid squid made mention of Maoris alongside Whites in relation to his speech it was significant that there were no Maoris amongst the national fronts ranks although the serried ranks of the Anti Fascists numbered people of all ethnicities.The extreme right wing national front included members of other Neo-nazi groups amongst their numbers. Several hammerskins were spotted wearing nf shirts as well as members/ex-members of unit 88 and blood and honour, all Neo-Nazi organisations.

At least 3 members of the national front also wore patches/collar tabs denoting the Deathshead insignia of the '3rd SS Panzer Division, Totenkopf' thus casting doubts on sid's comments of 'We are not Nazis' (though we have known since it's inception of the nazi agenda of the new national front).One member of the national front sported both the Deathshead insignia and Waffen SS officers collar tabs.

The police then herded the Neo-Nazi baldies back to the railway station helped by the the Anti Fascists, who pelted the boneheads with bagels, water and apple cores. Surrounded by Anti Fascists the national front were left alone on their platform much like forlorn shaven headed monkeys bereft of bananas in the urban jungle while the Police kept the Anti Racists back.

The national front then boarded their train and left for the Hutt Top Ten Camp Ground to chants of 'Nazi Scum, on the Run!'

Amongst the national front were sid squid, brendon rimmer (with his 13 year old girlfriend...), lucas 'vintersword' myswer, ross mchardy of Hamilton and cale olsen of Palmerston North.

Joel Nathan DuFresne, 28, of Northern Michigan, a "reverend" in the racist and anti-Semitic Creativity Movement, was sentenced to a prison term of 50 to 75 years for first degree criminal sexual conduct on September 22, 2006. He was also sentenced to a second term of 25 to 50 years for third degree criminal sexual conduct. DuFresne was convicted of these charges on August 18.

The first degree charge includes injury to the victim, who is in this case DuFresne's former girlfriend and the mother of his son. In a statement to the court DuFresne declared, "If I would have known how this was going to turn out, I would have shot her."

50-75 years in prison for rapist

A Northern Michigan man who was convicted of multiple counts of sexual assault last month will spend at least the next 50 years in prison.

Emmet County Circuit Court Judge Charles W. Johnson sentenced an unrepentant and anger-filled Joel Nathan DuFresne, 28, to terms of 50 to 75 years and 25 to 50 years in prison respectively on convictions for first and third degree criminal sexual conduct today, Friday.

Both charges involve sexual penetration by force or coercion, but the first degree charge has the added element of injury to the victim.

In his foul-mouthed statement to the court, DuFresne maintained his claims that the victim in the case had fabricated her claims against him for the purpose of gaining custody of their son. He also claimed that the woman has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and has made similar allegations against two other people.

“I don't care ... I'm not afraid to go to prison,” DuFresne said. “If I would have known how this was going to turn out, I would have shot her,” he said.

“I know I didn't rape her ... The only thing you care about is putting away someone who you don't agree with,” DuFresne said, apparently making reference to his association with a white supremacist group.

The woman who was the victim in the case told the court that she lives with repercussions of DuFresne's abuse every day.

“I'm afraid to live,” she said. “I don't have faith in people. I don't trust other men. I don't trust anyone ... I don't have faith in God. I don't understand how, if we are supposed to be made in His image, He could make someone like him (DuFresne).”

The victim in the case testified that DuFresne beat her up on several occasions and that he forced her to engage in numerous sex acts against her wishes using the threat of physical harm to her and her family and threatening to take the couple's young son away from her.

Describing her life under DuFresne's abuse, she said she feared coming home.

“Home was more like a concentration camp,” she said.

DuFresne, who made a threat to someone as he walked into the courtroom today, called the woman a liar as she was still speaking to the court and said, “I'll be back. It's called an appeal” as he was being led away to a holding cell.

Before sentencing DuFresne, Judge Johnson described him as a “crude, vulgar, sub-human individual who has no regard for the rights or feelings of others.”

Hello everyone.....
I'm the Canadian that was kidnapped and beaten in April....i'll be coming back to New Zealand to face the skin heads that nearly killed me...i was hoping that i could get some support while i was down there.....the trial is not set yet....all i know is that its in december....i know that there will be heaps of support for the skin heads involved...and i was hoping that i could get some support....i'll keep everyone posted....the trial will be in lower hutt....i want to put these fuckers away....i don't want them to get away....and do some more damage to anybody else....

THEY found her face-down in a pool of blood, her red-stained nightdress pierced by a single bullet through the heart.

It is 75 years this week since the body of Hitler's niece Angela "Geli" Raubal was discovered by servants at the Fuhrer's Munich apartment.

Her death, by a bullet from the Nazi leader's own pistol, was recorded as suicide. But there is compelling evidence to suggest the pretty 19-year-old - with whom Hitler was having a secret affair - was the first victim of the tyrant who would be responsible for the deaths of more than 50 million people.

Pro-Nazi police closed the case without an inquest or autopsy, while Geli's body was quickly taken out of the country and buried in Vienna.

But the young woman who had captured the Fuhrer's heart was seemingly in no mind to end her life on the night of September 18, 1931.

In fact the normally bubbly Geli was in the middle of writing a cheerful letter to a friend when, according to the official version of events, she put a gun to her chest and pulled the trigger.

Sixteen months later, Hitler became supreme ruler of Germany, and no one was allowed to breathe Geli's name ever again.

The affair began after Hitler asked his destitute half-sister, Angela, to be his housekeeper at his mountain retreat in Bavaria.

She brought her two daughters and within months Hitler had fallen in love with the elder girl, a spirited, flirtatious 19-year-old brunette who called him "Uncle Alf" and became his constant companion.

To get Geli away from her mother's watchful eye, Hitler moved her to his Munich apartment under the pretext of Geli studying medicine.

Hitler was madly jealous and gave her no privacy or freedom but, while he was away, Geli still managed to spend nights with men, including Hitler's chauffeur, Emil Maurice.

Geli confided to men she slept with, including Nazi boss Otto Strasser, that Hitler was frequently incapable of sexually satisfying her. He would make her undress and then he'd lie down on the floor so he could examine her closely, before demanding that she urinated on him.

She once confided to a friend: "You'd never believe the things he makes me do."

By 1931 Nazi party chiefs were growing increasingly uneasy about Hitler's relationship with his niece. The party was on the verge of a major breakthrough and a scandal would have wrecked Hitler's chance of supreme victory. At the same time, Geli, now 23, was becoming increasingly frustrated after Hitler had refused to let her go to Vienna to study music.

On Friday September 18, 1931, Hitler was due to leave Munich, where the Nazis had their headquarters, for a rally in Hamburg.

Neighbours claimed to have heard Geli shouting to Hitler from their second-floor balcony as he was getting into his car. Hitler shouted back: "No. For the last time, no." Geli shut herself away in her bedroom.

Next morning servants broke open the door and found her body. No one knows what they found or what they did before they called the police, but they settled on the story that Geli had committed suicide because she was worried her voice was not good enough to be a singer.

When the Nazis came to power 18 months later, they were able to doctor police records to fit the story. Detectives found Geli in a blue nightdress, lying face-down on the floor. Her arm was stretched towards Hitler's Walther pistol on the couch. She had bled from a bullet hole over the heart which had pierced her lung.

On the table was a letter to a girlfriend which ended in the middle of the word "und" - German for "and": "When I come to Vienna - hopefully soon - we'll drive together to Semmering an..."

From the rigor mortis, the police doctor placed time of death as the previous evening but there was no inquest.

The bullet had entered above the heart and lodged in her lower back at hip level, meaning the gun had to be pointing downwards and the hand holding it higher than her heart - a strange way to commit suicide. None of Hitler's servants admitted hearing a shot but they soon began to contradict themselves. Three different people claimed to have broken down Geli's door.

At the time, the anti-Nazi Munchener Post reported that Geli's nose had been broken and there were other injuries. There were also stories that Geli was pregnant.

The first detective on the scene, Heinrich Muller, rose to become head of the Gestapo while the Bavarian Minister of Justice, who hurriedly called off the investigation, became Reich Minister of Justice.

Geli was given a Catholic burial, even though to bury a suicide in hallowed ground was against church rules. The priest, Father Johann Pant, wrote to a French newspaper in 1939: "They pretended she committed suicide. From the fact I gave her a Christian burial you can draw your own conclusions."

Hitler said he was 100 miles away in Nuremburg when he heard the news of Geli's death, but at least one police investigator believed he was in the flat when the fatal shot was fired.

He wanted to charge Hitler with Geli's death but was overruled by pro-Nazi officials.

FRITZ Gerlich, a German journalist, claimed that, instead of leaving that Friday, Hitler had dined with Geli in a restaurant and that Hitler, who seldom touched alcohol, drank beer.

When they went back to the apartment, there was a row and he shot her.

Gregor Strasser, once Hitler's confidant, claimed he had to stop Hitler committing suicide after he'd shot Geli. Gerlich, Strasser and Strasser's lawyer, who held his private papers, were killed when the Nazis settled political and personal scores in the infamous Night of the Long Knives in 1933. So too was the owner of the restaurant where Hitler and Geli may have had their last meal.

Two years earlier Hitler had written to Geli, explicitly detailing his sado-masochist perversions, which fell into the wrong hands.

Father Bernhard Stempfle, a friend of the Fuhrer who managed to buy it back and return it to him, was also murdered in the Night of the Long Knives.

Whether or not Hitler shot Geli, he came close to a nervous breakdown after her death. "Geli's death had such a devastating effect on Hitler it changed his relationship to everyone else," said his deputy, Hermann Goering.

By the time he had become Germany's supreme leader Adolf Hitler was married, but Eva Braun would never take Geli's place in his heart.

A man demanded money from a woman in a wheelchair before assaulting her in what police labelled a brazen, unprovoked and cowardly attack in Invercargill yesterday.

Constable John Bissett said the 21-year-old woman was approached by the man in Tay St, opposite the YMCA, about 12.30pm yesterday.

"The guy demanded money from her – she said she had no money, he then whacked her on the head with the back of his hand."

As the woman turned to get away the man delivered a further three or four blows before a passerby intervened, Mr Bissett said.

The man is described as a caucasian, aged in his late 20s to early 30s and "skinheaded".

Speaking about the attack last night, the woman said she had no idea why she was targeted.

The attack had left her reluctant to head out on the streets again, she said.

"I've been told to keep on with what I'm doing every day but, at the moment, I don't want to do that."

A heavily tattooed skinhead wearing a T-shirt with "revenge" emblazoned across the front has appeared in court amid tight security, accused of bashing a Canadian tourist.

But the depositions hearing has been adjourned because the Canadian did not board his flight to New Zealand to give evidence.

Jaydon Russell Borland, 31, of Taranaki – who has the words "Nazi" and "skin" tattooed above each eye – smirked from the dock and made hand signals to a skinhead friend yesterday in Lower Hutt District Court.

Justice of the peace Laurence Withy said Borland's friend would be thrown out of court if he disrupted proceedings as six police officers guarded the four accused.

Borland, Mark Alexander Gage, 30, of no fixed abode, Jason George Gregory, 20, of Wainuiomata, and Benjamin Peter McPadden, 18, of Lower Hutt, face joint charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and causing grievous bodily harm.

The charges stem from an alleged attack on Jeremie Kawerninski, 25, on April 18 after he was befriended in Wellington and offered a place to stay.

Later, the badly beaten tourist was dumped on a Naenae roadside half-naked with his feet bound and a pillowcase tied over his head after being set upon in a Lower Hutt house and robbed of $40.

He was in hospital for 10 days with a fractured nose, broken ribs, punctured lung and severe bruising.

Mr Kawerninski was to have been the Crown's star witness. Police had arranged for him to return to New Zealand and stay in a hotel for the week-long hearing at their expense. But the case was adjourned after crown prosecutor Cameron Mander told the court Mr Kawerninski had not arrived.

Gage's lawyer, Greg King, said Mr Kawerninski's statement of evidence ran to 75 pages. Defence lawyers wanted to cross-examine him.

Mr Kawerninski had been reluctant to return to New Zealand, and his non-attendance had important ramifications for the case, Mr King said. However, because he had not been summoned, he could not be forced to attend.

The hearing was adjourned 48 hours for police to contact him.

Borland, Gage and Gregory were remanded in custody. McPadden was freed on bail and his image suppressed from publication.

Neo-Nazi Icon, Richard Butler, Is Dead

Richard Butler, the 86-year-old head of Aryan Nations, once the most infamous neo-Nazi group in the country, died on September 8, 2004. Butler, who outlived several designated successors, led the group for over three decades from his base in Hayden, Idaho, a menacing armed compound. However, in recent years, his ailing health and the loss of the compound due to a lawsuit had diminished the group's numbers and influence. Despite the waning influence of the group, individual members continued to be involved in a number of serious crimes.

Butler, a one-time engineer, began his involvement in the white supremacist movement after World War II when he embraced racist and anti-Semitic Christian Identity beliefs and started attending meetings of Wesley Swift's Christian Defense League. In 1971, when Swift died, Butler declared himself Swift's successor. He soon took Swift's Church of Jesus Christ Christian to Northern Idaho, renaming it Aryan Nations. The group's yearly congresses at its headquarters in Hayden attracted a wide range of racists over the years—from Klan members to skinheads to neo-Nazis.

At these congresses, which were attended by as many as 200 participants, Butler offered paramilitary training and guerilla warfare, and provided a haven for like-minded extremists to discuss their vision for an all-white nation. Butler himself urged racists to settle in the Pacific Northwest, and many did. In addition to these gatherings, Butler reached out to white supremacists in prison and tried to recruit young people through an "Aryan Nations Academy," which he established in the early 1980s.

A number of extremists, inspired by Butler's teachings, committed violent acts over the years. Among the most notorious crimes were the string of armored car robberies and murders carried out by members of The Order in the early 1980s and the shooting spree at a Los Angeles Jewish daycare center by one-time Aryan Nations member Buford Furrow in 1999.

Just in the past several years, seven different Aryan Nations members (many with previous convictions) have been arrested for alleged crimes ranging from weapons charges to hate crimes; four such arrests occurred in April-May 2004 alone, including an alleged firebombing of a synagogue in Oklahoma City in April 2004.

In the 1990s, Aryan Nations began to experience problems. Contention within the organization caused some members to leave to form their own groups. The organization also took a big hit in 1998 when a mother and son, Victoria and Jason Keenan, filed a lawsuit against the group after being assaulted by Aryan Nations guards when they stopped their car near the Aryan Nations compound. In September 2000, a jury found Butler and his group guilty of negligence in the selection, training and supervision of the guards, and the Keenans were awarded 6.3 million dollars. Butler was forced to declare bankruptcy and lost his compound in Hayden.

Over the next few years, Butler's health continued to deteriorate, and without a home base, his group began to lose both members and influence. Infighting in the group also led to the formation of various factions. At one time, three different factions vied for hegemony of Aryan Nations. In 2001, Butler named Ray Redfeairn as his successor. Redfeairn, however, left the group that year and formed his own faction, only to return in 2002. Redfeairn died in 2003 before he could take the reins.

Homosexual white supremacists, sneered at by their fellow racists, come out on the Net

Ku Klux Klansmen, neo-Nazis, Christian Identity adherents, racist Skinheads and Odinists, along with your garden variety white supremacists — these are the people that populate America's radical right. They inhabit, by definition, the outermost fringes of our society.
And then there are the gay neo-Nazis.

Talk about a sect within a sect. The members of this tiny subculture on the radical right — mainly men who inhabit Web chat rooms like "Gay Aryan Resistance" — just can't seem to get any respect.

After all, the real Nazis murdered thousands of homosexuals, and most people on the modern white supremacist right act pretty much as if they'd like to follow suit.

Take Pete Peters, a leading ideologue of the racist Christian Identity religion. The title of his 1993 book, Death to all Homosexuals, leaves little to the imagination. Or consider Fred Phelps, the radical Topeka Baptist. He runs the godhatesfags.com web site. Tom Metzger, who leads the White Aryan Resistance, offers up for his part cartoons that depict gay men being beaten to death.

No matter. Homosexual white men, declares a web page called the Gay Racialist Network (www.geocities.com/ARCOrg/), are "nature's elite." While straight men are good for breeding, gay white men are "charismatic leaders that possess ... genius."

Similar messages appear on sites like Gays Against Semitism (www.geocities.com/gasunited/), and especially in chat rooms with names such as "Gay Nazi Sex," "Gay Nazi WP [White Power] Fetishists," "Gay Aryan Neo-Nazi Skinheads," "Nazi Muscle" and, most curious of all, "Diapered Skinheads."

"The Gay Aryan Mann [sic] must rise up," writes one impassioned man in the "Gay Aryan Resistance" chat room, "and destroy ZOG [the "Zionist Occupation Government"] and end the Semitic homophobia imposed on our Kultur!"

Or, in the posted message of a rare lesbian: "Even if you are gay and white, or retarded and white, YOU ARE WHITE. BOTTOM LINE! Instead of letting the white race go extinct because of worthless races such as the african [sic] race or the mexican [sic] race popping out literally millions of babies a day, we have to fight this fucked up shit they are doing. They are raping our country."

Although it will come as a surprise to many, there has long been a fascist homosexual subculture. Hitler's paramilitary SA storm troopers had a significant gay element — until SS head Heinrich Himmler announced that all gays would be sent to concentration camps "and shot while trying to escape.

Small groups of gay neo-Nazis dotted the European landscape after the war, while in America homosexuality continues to be a "secret of postwar American National Socialism," according to Jeffrey Kaplan, a well-known scholar of extremism.

In fact, Kaplan writes, gays made up a "significant" — if carefully hidden — part of George Lincoln Rockwell's American Nazi Party in the 1960s. In 1974, the first openly gay American neo-Nazi group, the National Socialist League, was formed in Los Angeles by Russell Veh. Before disappearing in the 1980s, the group put out a journal — NS Kampfruf — complete with explicit photographs and racy advertisements.

This reality has been acknowledged by some white supremacists. Long-time neo-Nazi Harold Covington, revealing his own homophobia, put it this way: "[T]his movement has a distinct tendency to attract faggots because of the leather-macho image that the System Jew media imparts to the SS uniform."

Today, life remains tough for the committed gay neo-Nazi. After a heterosexual neo-Nazi chat room called the "Racialist Club of America" expelled "practicing homosexuals" recently, one gay man wrote, "[W]e will never win this war as long as they [straight neo-Nazis] are considered the NORM of white pride groups."

Another man, in considerably more despair, asked this question: "What does belonging to a group, who would kill you along with everyone else the second they found out what you were really, make you feel like?"

Polish police arrest man suspected of co-authoring a far-right Web site

(AP) - WARSAW, Poland - Police have arrested a second man suspected of helping run the Web site of a banned extreme right group espousing Nazi ideology, a police spokeswoman said Monday.

The man, identified under Poland’s privacy law only as 21-year-old Bartosz B., from the northern city of Slupsk, faces charges of disseminating Nazi ideas, xenophobia and participation in an illegal group, spokeswoman Beata Tobiasz said.

Police suspect he translated Polish texts into English for the international “Redwatch” Web site, allied with the far-right Blood and Honor [bonehead gang], and helped the managers keep in touch with its administrators [DreamHost] in the United States.

He was detained on Friday and can be held for two months as the charges are investigated further. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.

Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz said Monday he hopes that police actions will prevent any kind of dissemination of Nazi ideology in Poland.

Poland lost [sic] 6 million citizens, half of them Jews, under Nazi occupation during World War II.

Last week, police arrested a man suspected of being the Polish administrator of the Web site.

The arrests came after a woman told the police that her name and picture are on a list of “antifascists” posted on the Redwatch Web site[?] Redwatch is an international far-right group based in Britain. [Redwatch is a project of Blood and Honour — an international gang of boneheads.] Its Web site posts names, photos and addresses of human rights activists, gays and left-wing journalists under the slogan: “Remember places, traitors’ faces, they all pay for their crimes.”

Last month, a man on the same list was stabbed in the back and seriously wounded in Warsaw.

In reaction, Poland has asked the U.S. government to help it shut down [DreamHost] the American-based server hosting the Web site.

White/European Gangs/Subcultures

What are they
Most White Gang members are actually part of unorganised subcultures that dress in a similar manner and listen to a unifying style of music.

Skinheads are linked by a common form of clothing and hair style. There is what is known as a true Skinhead, who must also have the right attitude and listen to the right music and be strong in his beliefs. Female Skinheads are called “Skin Girls”, and the females who associate with them and dress similar but don’t cut their hair short are called “Boot Girls” (some people call “Skin Girls” “Boot Girls” as well & vice versa). Some people call all Punks, Skins and their associates “Boot Boys” or “Boot Girls”.

The term “White Boys” also includes Skinheads but not all White Boys are Skinheads, they are all linked by the fact they are either “White Power” (the clear belief that whites are greater than others) or “White Pride” (pride in the white race).

Not all Skinheads are “White Power” or “White pride”. A small number in NZ are part of a world wide group called SHARP (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice), there are also other variations, such as Red Skins (communists), Anarchists who follow the old Punk styles of music and beliefs, but the most common type of Skinhead in New Zealand are called “Oi Skinheads”. This name comes from the music style called “Oi”, an offshoot of Punk.

Skinhead Clubs
Skinhead Clubs have a different culture of joining their crews than the Motorcycle Clubs and most street gangs,
Skinhead Prospects are called Privates or Recruits, (these names are to clarify the military nature of some Skinhead Clubs and to separate them from the Motorcycle Club structural names). Most Skinhead clubs have Representatives not Presidents because they do not like authority even those in their own subculture. A Representative or simply “Rep” is the person who speaks for the club to other clubs, he also coordinates the member’s activity (often though this is a position in name only and other strong personalities in the club actually run things). Sometimes members who put themselves as the boss of a Skinhead Club end up being resented by other members and eventually this will cause fighting and the destruction of the club. Skinheads and White Boys have had many small clubs that have started up and disbanded within a year or even months. Often the members who leave will then try to set something else up. Often it is a case of someone wanting to have more control so he sets up his own thing and tries to recruit for it.
Traditionally Skinheads wore a tidy working class style of clothes. These would be a shirt with braces worn up, and their jeans rolled up to show high lace-up boots. Most would have worn blue jeans and hard wearing dress pants. The original Skinheads considered a skinhead hair cut to be number 4 comb and down to 0 comb. This has evolved into a more military look. A common Skinhead look now would be black jeans, high lace-up black boots without jeans rolled up (however some skinheads still roll them up); if braces are worn they are likely to be hanging down. T-shirts with prints on them are also common, these would have band names, political statements or something with offensive insignia. Some Skinheads still keep to the old style knowing it is less trouble and obvious to the public and they can get on with their jobs and lifestyle without too much interference. The hair length for an active Skinhead is now number 2 comb down to 0 comb.
White Boys often look similar to Skinheads with short hair and many wear boots and dress in similar clothes. This can be said for many Bikers now as well. It is part of the evolution of the street cultures, as they intermingle they adopt each others styles eventually they look similar. A White Boy can dress in any way he feels though. So there is no real uniform for a typical White Boy subculture.

Other White/European subcultures:

Alternatives are a mutation of the Punks and Hippies, it mostly has middle class left wing people in it, but there are also a number amongst them who follow Odenism and other ancient European religions, this has connected these small few with Skinheads and White Boys who share those religions. The Alternatives are well known for being anti animal testing, and other green issues such as legalising cannabis and anti GE products. They dress in all kinds of styles, but boots are still common although plain sneakers are also common. All different hairstyles are amongst their movement with dread locks and punk hairstyles being the most common. A few of them are old Punks and Heavy Metlers who went into being more serious and more involved with their political beliefs.

Skaties have had their time back in the eighties and re-emerged in the 90’s. They have also seen the mutation of new fashion and there has been the integrating with other subcultures, some Skaties looking like and dressing like Homies, while the others have become Alternative or Punk in their style and the music they listen to. With some of these subcultures however there is no law or punishment for not listening to the right music accept peer pressure and what is in at the time. Skaties could be a fashion fad or it could have some die hards who will stay Skaties and influence others in that style for years to come, regardless of what else is in.

Gothic’s have been around nearly as long as Punks, they could be considered to be part of the alternative movement also; however they have their own distinct style, music and culture. They dress in black; there are tidy Goths who dress in black suits and the others who dress in anything and everything. Many are into a suicidal fashion and the music they listen to is often Satanic and life hating. Many of these follow Satanic or other anti Christian religions. In New Zealand there have been a few cases of them being activists against Christian places of worship and cemeteries. These have included digging up skeletons and other forms of desecrating graves.

Heavy Metlers are also commonly anti Christian and will often be found in the same circle of friends as Goths and Alternatives. Again though there has been a number of Metlers who have become Skinheads. They started out by hanging out with them and then they would dress similar and then shave their hair. Most Metlers have long hair and wear denims or leather jackets and jeans. Cowboy boots were common in the eighties but over the years more practical foot wear is common like lace up boots and white basket ball boots, however this subculture is not about looks or shoes, it is about hard music and hard life. They are more working class then the Hippies and Alternatives.

Bogans/Petrol Heads/Boy Racers
These guys have revved up on our streets for a few years now, they are not new, but it seems like there are more of them. They have no common music or dress code. It is all about cars and parties.

Origins
Modern White Youth Sub cultures were first seen in the form of Teddy Boys and Mods. These fought each other as well as the fathers of the Bikers known as Rockers or Greasers.
Skinheads started in the East end of London and grew to a world wide “movement”. It started with the “Hard Mods” in 1966-67, who had split from the other Mods who became the “Art Mods” (the perent movement of the Hippies).
1967-1968 The Hard Mods evolved into Skinheads.
1969 was the year of the Skinheads; soccer stadiums were full of Skinheads. The media was full Riots and Gang wars. The British authorities got worried about the large numbers and started a campaign to halt the growth of this violent movement. This included police harassment on a large scale. Skinheads at this time also had large conflicts with Biker Gangs and Hippies.
1970 This lead to too many Skinheads leaving the scene and some becoming Suedheads, (they had longer hair and more expensive label clothes) some stayed true to being Skinheads though, and kept the Traditional style alive.
1976 The Punk Movement rises into notoriety. With this came the beginnings of the new Skins with chaos and Anarchist ideology. Often this took the form of wearing communist and Nazi regalia as an offensive tool. It worked and many skinheads started to get involved in the political policies of the left or right ring groups of the day, such as the “British National Front”. Oi, music was a harder more street version of Punk that the Skinheads and more aggressive working class Punks listened to. The bulk of the Punk scene was going the way of the “Art Mods” and getting too left wing and liberal for most skins and working class Punks. The New Zealand Skinhead Subculture is the result of working class migration to New Zealand from Britain.
1980 Skins and punks are separated and the second wave of skins has become its own world wide movement. It has mainly as been the White Power Skinheads who the world has seen, but also the Chaos, and Anti political Skinheads (who become known as Oi Skins) have also become world wide. At this time New Zealand Skinheads and Punks are still in a mutual scene and known around the country as Boot Boys referring to all boot wearing youth.
1984 the punk movement is dying out world wide, the New Zealand Skinhead scene well established with Skinhead clubs in most major centres. Most of the first clubs had names based on their city like “Auckland Skinheads”, “Christchurch Skinheads” and “Southland Skinheads” and they were territorial. Other crews like the Droogs who were formed from the idea of the “Boot Boy” club in the “Clockwork Orange” movie. These old crews have members who will carry on considering they are members of that club even though the club is not active as a club anymore.

New Zealand Hammer Skinheads, Valkeries, Skinhead Soldiers (Auckland, Wellington, Hawkes Bay)
1988 Hammer Skinheads where founded in Dallas Texas USA.
It started with the Confederate Hammerskins in Dallas and spread throughout the United States establishing new chapters with different names, Northern Hammerskins (Northern States and Canada), Eastern Hammerskins, (Eastern States), Western Hammerskins (Western States). In Europe interest came through bands that were travelling there that had Hammerskin affiliations and had songs that made those connections clear. Big court cases also took the Hammerskins name to a world wide recruiting pool. It took time to set up chapters as they only give membership to people who have been on probation and meet the members closest to them face to face. The First European Chapter was Bohemia Hammerskins in Czechoslovakia, this chapter then helped others to set up around Euro. Including a new chapter in Slovakia when the two countries there split. Britain and Switzerland were also among the first, and Germany formed chapters for each state there such as Saxony, Mecklenburg, Berlin etc. (8 chapters with up 150 members nationwide). Other chapters included Charlemagne Hammerskins in France; Australian Skinheads visiting the USA also probated and set up the Southern Cross Hammerskins in Australia on their return by 1993. In 1996 Southern Hammerskins (SHS) was established in New Zealand and made an official chapter of the Hammerskin Nation (the name of the world Organisation for Hammerskins) in 1997 with help from Southern Cross HS.
Renegade chapters have started around the world from time to time because of the difficulty of joining the Hammerskins Nation. These have included the “Aryan Guard Hammerskins” who had set up chapters in Sweden, Germany, and Australia and tried to set one up in New Zealand. This was stopped by SHS in 1997.
Around 1998 the SHS changed their name to New Zealand Hammerskins to follow suit with International changes..

Hammerskins are Drug free, highly organised and have a defined Uniform with side patches. They are the Leading White Power Organisation in New Zealand, the first to have a pure white policy.

They are a stand alone club but associate with Blood and Honour and Satan’s Slaves Motorcycle Club. Their female supporters have a club called the Valkeries. Other supporters used to have a support T-shirt with Skinhead Soldiers on it.

1992 Founded as the Skinhead Nation, spread throughout the South Island and had members in the lower North Island. The main crews that helped to get it going were the Southern Skinheads and the Psycho Skins.
1993 became the Skinhead Union. The membership changed dramatically and there had been conflict with Motorcycle Gangs. The Skinhead Union was very successful with unifying Skinheads all over New Zealand. The Skinhead clubs that joined the Union were, Southern Hammer Skinheads, Skinhead Barstards, Booserss, Stokes Valley Firm, New Plymouth Skins and many individual skins. The leaders of the Skinhead Union were linked with the New Zealand Fascist Union in 1998.
1999 The Skinhead Union joined the National Front. It then changed its name to National Front Skinheads (NFS). This caused more problems and eventually most of the clubs that had joined the Skinhead Union left or chose to not support the new Federation. By this time there were so many individual Skinheads involved that National Front Skinheads T-shirts were printed and sold throughout New Zealand.
2002 There are now chapters in several states in the USA and Australia, plus the Europe branch with chapters in Finland, France and Germany.

Possibilities
People can be predictable. History shows so many examples of how things can go a certain way if some situations come into play. It is possible to engineer a population through certain things. The Companies do it with advertising and the Government does it with their schemes and policies that are designed to keep people thinking everything is good. Even when polices that will help the people are slow forgotten.
There are many potential threats. I will deal with the natural disasters in a latter chapter. But for now I will say that all things that bring instability can bring the belief of being unsafe. The basic idea behind civilisation is the myth of order and stability. When the reality is anything controlled by people is week and can fall. Anything that has a few humans with their anger, their jealousy, there corruption and their lust for power will come to a breaking point as all these potential time bombs come to potential clashing points. It’s the illusion of the stability that holds the thin threads together. So it is clear that the main function for a terrorist org or an anti government group is to show the people they are not safe, they need to get them thinking about what they have and what they have to do to keep it. The worse things get the more they realise that the essentials of life are the most important things. Such as food water and shelter.
These are things that people take for granted in the western world, until it is taken away. When the power goes or a water main breaks, these are all key targets for a group trying to affect the hysteria they need for the chaotic stage of a revolution or the destruction of the society.
People want to feel safe, as they feel less safe, they are more likely to rebel themselves. Poverty can be countered by entertainment, give a poor man some alcohol and some drugs and a TV and he will feel better about his life, but take some of these away and he will feel more able to break out and challenge the system.
Ever person in our system helps it to run, the whole system requires everyone’s input, when there are people who don’t work or don’t put in their part the system starts to slow or to have problems, there are so many sick and old people the system can look after, but when the system plays with employment schemes etc to bring wages down and to make economies the way they need them to make more money, then they start to play the slippery game to chaos. As some men get greedier and create these systems, some other men wake up to the fact they have to act or eventually starve.
When the workers at a factory don’t show up for work, they will not get paid, the factory will loose is product and the boss will loose profit, so no one wins during these times of strikes such, when it goes to a step higher and the people of a country are feeling like they are loosing their freedom or their safety, then the whole thing can be far more dangerous for the state.
If a group created some confusion in a city for a few hours, there will be consequences for that. They will be managed and the system will repair the damage, the greater the damage the greater the repair, its all reaction on action. When there are three cities hit at the same time, the fear and panic sets in with the people, that to can be settled in some time and with some damage control by a government, but if control was lost multiple times and chaos was caused in many places at the same time or in close sequence, showing the lack of control the system really has, then the people will go into their family units and their own individual belief of survival. When this kick's in the whole country is in disorder, it can take decades to repair it. It will need outside intervention to bring some order back. Strength in numbers becomes the main course of law and order, which ever is the strongest wins, the whole beginnings of how civilisation starts again. The strong live and the week dies. The strong are often just the people who grouped together while the week are often strong as an individual person but on without support they are inevitably the looser against a greater number of people. These are the ways that revolution can spread and become a real entity in a Farley fast course. Western Nations rely on the system Myth to keep power, they loose the actual safety part it a little each time they cut back on spending and some one at the top gets a pay rise.
During the process of the breaking down of society, there are things that give signs, such as the rise of more types of politics, the more extreme politics, and the more extreme groups. Some extreme groups are always going to be here, but during breakdown, they grow and become more palatable to people.
Some groups such as Maori and Immigrant groups that may have or do feel dissected by the system. These groups are already intact and are able to grow rapidly. The Immigrant factions that have come from third world countries will have seen how bad it can get, and they also no how week the whole system really is. Many of them could be war veterans, or survivors of horrible disasters, each hardening them to the possibilities. Each situation makes them more likely to be ready to survive and protect what they love.
When the Government ignores its people, it risks the downfall of itself. By not dealing with basic needs and desires, it self terminates. When the general population sees their standard of life slowly declining, they get scared, each level that it goes down there are more people who are willing to do be more anti government and to challenge the system. At the start, this is the people making comments while watching the news about how things need to change radically, or all is lost, and then it will shift to pushing the boundaries of the law, and show antagonistic view points and being more willing to protest. They will show their dislike for the police and the government departments.
The system in the wets has a tool that has worked for centuries. Religion and spiritual morality. These things have kept people away from rebellion, but when the system itself challenges and threatens the traditions and the ethics of these fundamental foundations of the society, then more people become affected by the government lack of foresight and unwillingness to see what is good for the people. The people who hold the system together then start to become the ones who want to challenge the system.
We already have many groups that have open conflict with each other over their extremes, the religious fundamentalist and the Homosexuals, the far left and the far right, the Angry Farmers and the Maori radicals or the anarchists against everything. But when these groups start to see that they can focus on the system instead of each other, the government looses another foot hold. It is easier to deal with conflicting groups when you can mediate and deal with them attacking each other, but when they are attacking you, then you are less able to see things as they need to be seen and the ability to sit down and work it out becomes much less.
So back to the possibility. When any of these groups does start to act against the system to bring forward the fear and feeling of chaos amongst the people, they will bring about the fall of this country. This could be done in a week. It could be done over a long period of time. Some are already working on long term plans. As more and more people end up with under paid part time jobs and less and less power through the lack of the current Union’s, along side the growing sickness benefit and unemployment levels, (all of witch have to much time on their hands) then the recruitment for the larger and more organised and even more importantly more active groups will increase dramatically. The level of acceptance amongst the lower paid people and those who felt they could have done better under another system is getting less.
When the Governments see that they are loosing their power, often they rush in new laws that will keep their power intact for a bit longer, but this in turn leads to more people getting disaffected and more willing to be part of the resistance. It’s all around the world, and all through history. Yet the most educated people seem to think it will never happen here.

Its been busy since we put this blog up. Threats flying left and right, people "changing" their beliefs and promising to change their ways, and of course the various dodgey deals that have been going on, with Nazis trying to get their photos and info taken down. Such big, brave examples of the Aryan race. So we have decided to do a bit of a recap.

Firstly: The SOS.

After this blog went up, Joe claimed that he and all of the SOS decided that they were no longer Nazis. All of them? On the same day? Wow...That's pretty convenient, innit? So we decided that Joe was being a the scared little boy that he is, and trying to run away from responsibility. We knew he would mess up sooner or later, so we decided to watch and wait. Sure enough, he slipped. When Molly was in AK, he spent a lot of time hanging out with Hayden(we will get to him in a second), and Joe. Molly told us a interesting story, when he was trying to get us to leave him alone(again, more dodgey deals trying to get himself out of shite. Seems to be a particular specialty of Molly's). He told us that one night, while the three lads were having a night out on the town, Joe spray painted a swastika in a carpark. Does that sound like something a reformed Nazi would do? We think not. The other day, he was on MSN, doing the usual abuse bollix, and we have decided to include this choice quote: "u fuckin dropkick whore junkie." Charming lad.

Hayden. Hayden is a Neo-Nazi from waaay back, and a old friend of Ross , Molly, The Pieman himself, and various other boneheads from around the country. He's a quiet fella, and seems to have gone into hiding since this blog went up. Well, that's what we thought. He has apparently been hanging with Molly and Joe a fair amount, which is not promising. He also jumped on MSN and started talking shit 'tother day: "you're a tough girl ****, you can hurt people and wrong them without thinking twice. you're starting to get me aggitated. Fuck you you stupid bitch". He then went offline. Pity, would of liked to chat to him a bit more. So here you go folks, a lovely picture of Hayden and his gun. He is also the tall bastard in the main photo.

Tim. He's a very young lad who stupidly got involved with the SOS, but we hadn't heard anything about him for some time. We figured perhaps we had scared him straight, and decided to leave him alone. Until this: "fuk off u fukin bitch...i hope u fukin die...ur gnna fukin get it soon...watch urself" So here he is faithful viewers: Tim with Joey outside thors tavern.

Now, we are busy bunnies, what with all the sex, jumping about, and eating carrots, so this is just a quick overview of some of the threats we have received, on this blog and by various other means.

AFA Hunt down "Celtic Wolves"...

AFA Hunt down "Celtic Wolves"
Dublin - 3 June 2006

Saturday 3rd June saw a failed attempt by the cyber-nazi movement in Ireland, the so-called "Celtic Wolves", to emerge from behind their keyboards into the real world. AFA members rumbled their "national meeting" and the bewildered fash, far from being hostile witnesses, readily divulged their personal details to their interrogators before being chased back to their virtual Valhalla.

The Celtic Wolves have been throwing shapes and threatening to get all active recently despite their getting a battering from AFA members the Last time they surfaced in UCD in support of right-wing wingnut Justin Barrett in October 2004. From monitoring posts on fascist websites, all indications were that a few boneheads have been angling to spend some "quality time" in public together as a chance to get out from behind their computers. They managed to achieve this recently with a booze-up in Cork which was notable for the presence of a number of overseas nazis. Recent months have also seen a number of lampposts in Dublin sidestreets festooned with homemade Celtic Wolves stickers urging users of back alleys and sidestreets to prepare for race war and the usual poison.

Acting on intelligence received, AFA members and Anarchist Youth confronted four boneheads of the Celtic Wolves in a city centre pub in a Dublin city and after a brief but frank discussion, the boneheads acted on the anti-fascists advice to abandon their meeting and leave the pub. Emerging from the pub, the fash were provided with an escort to O'Connell St. AFA is aware that following the 'Love Ulster' fiasco, the mean streets of Dublin can sometimes be less than accommodating to the national socialist element in the North who supported that particular outing. So we were a little concerned at how four boneheads openly sporting Nazi t-shirts and badges might be received. The bones seemed not to appreciate our concern and on reaching what they presumed to be the 'comfort zone' of a packed O'Connell St felt confident enough to shout something about "red scum" before high-tailing it towards the Liffey.

Enticed by the prospect of further political debate, anti-fascists followed. Disaster was then heaped upon disaster for these specimens of the master race as they were repeatedly battered as they attempted to evade further attention. The final ignimony came when two of them, having abandoned their comrades to their fate, jumped into a taxi and to a hoped-for speedy exit from the fray. Unfortunately for them, not quickly enough. Stuck in traffic and with the windows rolled down, the generous bones invited and received a farewell barrage of blows from the obliging anti-fascists.

As their attempted meeting had been in the planning stages for quite some time, Saturday's events will no doubt represent a serious setback to future attempts at organising. We are confident that it will be a long time before these clowns recover enough to gather "forces" from across the country in Dublin and indeed information recently received from one of the individuals involved has assured us that he is severing all links to his kameraden and renouncing Nazism. Meanwhile AFA will continue to actively hunt down any Celtic wolves, badgers, etc wherever they try to emerge from the sewers. The name “Celtic Wolves” will prove prophetic – remember the last of our real native wolves (not that we’ve anything against the furry kind) were hunted to extinction in the 18th century.
