Thankfully a site reader, Donald C., sent me the pics.

I do believe that if the producers et al got a ton of crap for Starscream and other leaked designs, the sh-- is about to truly hit the fan. You saw a hint of him form being built here, but now you get to see it in all its colored glory.

Now, having read the script, the idea is Megatron retained his alien Cybertron form in part because of his contempt for earthlings and all things Earth related. If you hate them, why trans-scan into a earth form. So the idea is to scream "look!, evil alien robot." On that beat, they absolutely nailed it. Sadly though if you are looking for your childhood Megatron, there is nada (but maybe get that in the voice perhaps?).

Source: http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/

Llusannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27296693.post-1155510374770770622006-08-13T16:01:00.000-07:002006-08-13T16:06:15.866-07:00Transformers vs Die Hard IV in 2007
20th Century Fox has announced that a sequel to the Die Hard franchise will be released on July 29th 2007, just five days before Transformers plans to take it bow. The movie, titled "Live Free or Die Hard" stars Bruce Willis and is directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld).

The plot is retired John McClane must stop terrorists from disrupting the countries computer intrastructure over the course of three days, with the July 4th holiday being a component of the story.

This is probably bad news for Transformers producers who, until now, had virtually no competition for their release date, especially after the Fantastic Four sequel caved a few weeks earlier and bumped their desired release date to a few weeks after.

for these expensive "tent-pole" films, usually the companies like to only have one per 7 day period whenever possible. We already saw this year with the July 28th release of Superman Returns followed by July 4th release of Pirates of the Caribbean, that the market can bear to huge releases in the same one week period, but one does have to wonder that if those two titans hadn't gone head to head, how much more money would each have made? In this case, Pirates won the fight hands down, but that doesn't mean that could happen next year. I doubt neither Fox nor Paramount will blink first. I think that Fox will decide to release Die Hard 4 on Wednesday 7/27/06 just to squeeze a few more buck out before Transformers drops the following Wednesday. Next year should be an interesting fight for box office supremacy.Llusannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27296693.post-1154668010680488092006-08-03T22:05:00.000-07:002006-08-03T22:06:50.700-07:00NEW Transformers Teaser Trailer

JesterJJZ over at Don Murphy's message board has gone all multimedia for us fans by posting up his fan-made Transformers teaser trailer.

Jester's post:
Alrighty...This is something that's been in the works for a long time...just never got around to finishing it. Initially I wanted this to come out right before the actual teaser was supposed to be released, but since they blew it and launched early, well that kinda put plans on hold. So with a bit of re-tweaking, I give you what the teaser should have been and how the actual film should start.
Special thanks to Tasty Crisp for his awesome Ark model and animation. A nod to Raymond T. for help with the Cullen sample.

Its completely different then the officially released version, and he has three versions that have subtle differences in each. One is the straight up trailer, the second as a nice voice treat at the end, and the last uses the Transformers title sequence from the trailer released in theatres.
Description of the second version:
The posted teaser opens with a hilarious version of the "The following preview..." card. It then changes to what at first seems like the usual Dreamworks moon. Except look closer. As the screenshot to the left shows, damn if that doesn't look exactly like the TF: The Movie version of Cybertron in some CGI glory. This is then followed up with the familiar Paramount clouds and stars rushing at the camera. Wait, check out the first two "stars". Sweet! The Paramount logo finishes its star arc, formation, Viacom bit, and then you get a shimmy followed by the Arc smashing into the paramount mountain. This is then followed by title "Transformers" which switches to 7/4/07, with the dates separations changing to the Autobot and Decepticon logos. Oh and listen to the music, some of those chords should rings some bells. At the very end, well listen for yourself.

I love this trailer. Its all geeked out for us Transformers fans. I would love to see it in a theater. Having said that, I think the previously released trailer, while not as great, probably worked better for the average laymen who wouldn't recognize Cybertron, the faction insignias, and so forth.
Still, please, Don Murphy and powers-that-be, release that trailer in some big screen glory. It really deserves it as the person did an excellent job on this. Maybe incorporate it in the next trailer that gets released.
Also with the links to the trailers is something called "Anatomy of an Ark Crash". All it needs is some music ala the Superman Returns behind the scenes bits from AICN to complete its coolness. It shows that even for just a quick 5 second part of a teaser, just how much work, tweaks, experimenting, planning and effort can go into CGI to give it that final wow factor.
Click here to enjoy the all the other goodies including mp3 of the music.
If only want a quick drive by on YouTube: trailer and Anatomy of an Ark Crash.
JesterJJZ's website is here.
- Thanks Shan for providing the link.
At this point wish was good at photoshop so could use some up that stuff on this site.

Via: transformerslive.blogspot.com

Llusannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27296693.post-1154323554564468442006-07-30T22:22:00.000-07:002006-07-30T22:25:54.576-07:00Two New Transformers Posters...!!!Two new Transformers posters to splash everywhere. Originally entitled Transformers Armada: Prelude to Energon, the title was shortened before release.
The game diverges from the cartoon and comic in that there are no humans present (according to the game developers, they could have been implemented, but it wasn't necessary to do so). Megatron also rules Cybertron with his army of Decepticlones, a massive mindless drone army. In the opening sequence, Megatron is about to kill Optimus Prime (in a homage to the original movie,he says: I would've waited an eternity for this Prime) and claim Cybertron for himself, when a Mini-Con beacon activates on Earth. Megatron, apparently well-aware of what this means, heads to Earth to claim the Mini-Cons.
The Autobots (Optimus Prime, Red Alert, Hot Shot), apparently the only three able to go, arrive on Earth as well to claim the Mini-Cons, believing Megatron only wants them for power.

Criticism
The game garnered mediocre reviews. Only its graphics recieved universal praise, while its repetitve game mechanics and awkward button layout was too offputting to many reviewers. Despite this, the game sold well, even being placed on Gamestop's "Most Wanted" trade-in list where it gained a high trade-in value. This is most likely due to brand name recognition rather than the game itself.
Llusannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27296693.post-1146366704782400992006-04-29T20:06:00.000-07:002006-04-29T20:11:44.783-07:00The Transformers | Cartoon | Anime | Manga
The Transformers was a children's cartoon depicting a war between giant robots who could transform into vehicles, animals, and objects. In response to the 1993 comic book relaunch of the Transformers series being called Transformers: Generation 2, this series and its comic book parallel are commonly referred to as Transformers: Generation 1. In Japan, the series was called Fight! Super Robot Life for Seasons 1 and 2, and Transformers 2010 for Season 3.Llusannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27296693.post-1146366353469700032006-04-29T20:03:00.000-07:002006-04-29T20:05:53.473-07:00History CartoonFour million years ago, on a distant planet called Cybertron, life existed in the form of sentient robots which could think and feel, called Transformers. The race of Transformers was divided into two main clans. Autobots (Known as Cybertrons in the Japanese cartoon), led by Optimus Prime, wished for peaceful co-existence between everyone. Decepticons, under the command of Megatron, sought conflict and military conquest. Both sides were embroilled in an ages old war for supremacy.

With both sides running low on energy, the Autobots, aboard the Ark, sought out a new source, but the Decepticons, aboard the Nemesis, ambushed them in hopes of gaining a decisive advantage. The ensuing space battle resulted in both the ships crash landing on a pre-historic Earth, the Ark crashing into the side of a dormant volcano, and the Nemesis crashing in a remote region of South America. (The fate of the Nemesis is subject to retcon. For the full story, see the Nemesis article.)

Four million years passed while the Autobots and Decepticons lay dormant aboard the Ark. In 1984, the volcano housing the Ark erupted, causing the accidental awakening of all the Transformers.

The Autobots and Decepticons, now on Earth, continued their war more ferociously than ever. The Decepticons wished to drain Earth of all its resources, converting it into energon for their use, while the Autobots were committed to stopping them, and to protecting the human race. This era would later be reffered to by Transformers as the "Great War." The war was almost ended as soon as it began, as the Decepticons gained an early lead, and were even able to build a space cruiser to leave Earth, however Autobot intervention prevented them from escaping orbit.

New allies were gained on both sides. Humans Sparkplug Witwicky, and his son Spike Witwicky, allied with the Autobots, while the human Doctor Arkeville sided with the Decepticons. Skyfire and the Insecticons were discovered already living on Earth. Both sides even built new allies to join their cause, the Autobots building the Dinobots, and the Decepticons building the Constructicons.

Despite wild gimmicks on both sides, including attempts to build better weapons, to undermine history through time travel, and even a temporarily successful attempt to warp Cybertron into Earth's orbit, neither side gained an overwhelming advantage. In the long run however, the Decepticons took the lead in the Great War, creating a Space Bridge that allowed them to warp individual Transformers to and from Cybertron at any time. This allowed them to claim rule of Cybertron, which gave them the winning edge for many years.

All of this changed in 2005, over 20 years after the start of the Great War. The Decepticons launched a surprise attack on Autobot City, on Earth. Countless Transformers lost their lives in the battle for Autobot City, but the Decepticons were repelled thanks to Optimus Prime's victory over Megatron, a victory that came at the cost of his own life.

Megatron and the other wounded Decepticons were abandoned by the stronger members of the team, in part due to Starscream's desire to usurp Megatron as leader. The God-like Unicron found them drifting in space. He rebuilt Megatron as Galvatron, and sent him on a quest to destroy the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. The Autobots' new leader, Rodimus Prime, was able to stop the Decepticons however. In his first battle as leader, he destroyed Unicron, reclaimed Cybertron for the Autobots, and excised Galvatron into deep space.

The Decepticons, without focus and dangerously low on energon, retreated to the burnt out world Charr. It was there they waited, until Cyclonus discovered Galvatron was simply excised and not killed. Upon rescuing Galvatron, the Decepticons reiterated their intentions to vanquish the Autobots and to reclaim Cybertron.

Both the Autobots and Decepticons soon learned they had a common enemy. A secretive race known as the Quintessons plotted the destruction of both Autobots and Decepticons. Rodimus Prime learned that these "new" Quintessons were no strangers to the Transformers at all. Rather, the Quintessons were the original creators of the early Transformers. Cybertron was a Quintesson factory before it was ever the Transformers' "home." The Quintessons went so far as to destroy their own home world in an attempt to vanquish the Transformers. In the end, the Quintessons, who relied on thorough probability analyses, were outdone by a now adult Spike Witwicky whose actions, unlike those of the robotic Transformers, the Quintessons were not able to predict.

The Great War continued, this time with the Autobots controlling Cybertron, and enjoying the advantage. The war was no longer waged primarily on Earth. Now, the whole universe was their battlefield.

In 2006, a disease called the Hate Plague was released upon the universe. This disease, which infected human and Transformer alike, threatened to destroy everything. With their leader Rodimus Prime infected, the Autobots rebuilt Optimus Prime, who was able to reclaim the Autobot Matrix of Leadership from Rodimus Prime and use it to erradicate the Hate Plague, draining the Matrix of all the power it had possessed.

Optimus Prime retains leadership of the Autobots. While the Decepticons continue to pose a threat to peace, Optimus Prime vows to resist Decepticon rule forever.

The comics produced by Marvel between 1984 and 1991 tell a substantially different version of the story. Both versions were equally authorized by Hasbro.Llusannoreply@blogger.com
