Back for a minute....

Well I am missing blogging, but loving the time that I am having. Have got the computer fixed, and a tuenup and is running smoothly again. Have created some amazing backgrounds on canvas, which I will upload once I have finished. Have read a few amazing books, created a few cards. Have been able to surf the net. I had been feeling like I had pressure to create. I know I dont but I pressure myself. So that is way I am taking a break, just creating when the mood strikes. It must be the weather, I love summer, and my creativity is at an all time low...but it is coming back. Still on my break but blogging when I can. This cool guy is my Dad, I think he was about 15.

Yep I am going to take a blog break. I am not going to stop creating, But I feel I need a break from blogging regulary. I might post today, tommorow or next week, but not requarly. But I will be back reguarly in September. So check back once and awhile and see if I have posted. I will be still checking all my favourite sites. Lee

Created the dress form out of cardboard, used a blue and yellow patterned paper on, emblishments, stamps, paint. I imagined this has a poster used to advertise.

i did a series of swim (ocean)pictures awhile back and here there are for Mixed Media Monday (By the Sea) I used wood peices that I found at the thrift store , acrylics, gesso some stamps, some graphite.

This is for Theme Thursday challenge a man ATC. This happens to be a picture of my grandfather, on his way I think to France to fight in WW1. He was with two other men, I cropped them and here he is. These creating ATC is a duanting task, when you are used to creating a much bigger scale.

ok I am motoring this morning. Sofie the dog has gone to doggy daycare, to be with her friends. And to give her mama a day to herself. The hubby has gone off on a business trip and the daughter is at work. This woman is going to make art today at least until lunch which I will then be goiong out for with my pal ML. Then its back to continue to make art. I have some challenges I want to do, finish the star for Jillian and I have an idea for a canvas. Then you should see some art tonight....talk to you then

I have been lazy lately and not down in the studio to much. It must be the weather, I have been sitting on the deck, enjoying the weather. Taking the dog for long walks and generally just taking care of myself. I love spring and summer. When you work the time goes by so fast and before you know it winter is upon you. This year I vowed to enjoy each and every day of spring and summer. I feel refreshed since I have retired. I have been busy with my 80 year old mother. Doctors, clinics, etc but she is my mother and she looked after me. I have been working in my moleskin alot lately just because its portable and I can do it anywhere. So here is one of my creations. This is my version of pens and pencils. I found this to be a hard one, in fact I was not going to participate. I made this one and thought I cant submit that. But after evaluation I decided to. It is meant to be rough looking and not polished. I hope you get that from the art.

I was contaced by Jillian a fellow blogger about helping out her family, by creating a star. Now you ask why would she want you to create a star. I read her email (below) and was intriqued went to her site and read her blog (see sidebar under Jillian will take you to her site). She is teaching her children about the holocaust, and in the process making us remember......that genocide exists and still does today. So I am going to create that star and send it to her, and it will also be for the millions of people who have lost someone they love... So why dont you go over to her site and look at her blog and maybe you to will be inspired to do something good today.

Well you are probably scratching your head and saying what the ....does that have to do with worry. Well my aunt everytime she got worried, went and got out her worry beads and counted them and handled them and she believed it help her worries disappear. Hence my take on worry beads.

The Daily Grind....

I dont really have a daily grind...since I retired I feel like i am on a holiday. I need routine in my life, that is what work does. Now I am trying to build my life without outside working and get a routine. I have not managed it yet, but will. I need to priortize duties that need to be done each day, accomplish those and also have time for me. I have been feeling like everything lately that I have been creating is not up to parr. I am not looking for compliments from anyone. Dont you ever just look at what you are creating and say I am not an artist. Look at what everyone else out there is doing, I feel like mine is very amertursh. So I decided to try something different and make a few ATC and stretch my limits, try different techniques and see how it goes. Here is my first try. I used Rangers Inks and the Blending soloution and make the backdrop used a stamp I have hanging around and black pen. So what do you think...

When creating this tag, I used chalk, a mask,paint pink and yellow, the chalk was white, and rubber stamps. I think brown, pink and yellow are feminine and soft colours. I hope you like it.

Illustration Friday -Wide/Inspire me Thursday-Crayon

Decided to do both illustraion Friday and Inspiration Thursday together. Okay Wide of course is the Alligator mouth, which is always open wide. I used crayon for the whole drawing and then melted the wax with the little iron that I have. I would like to have painted in Acrylics as I think it would have popped with brighter colours. Hope you like it.

This is what I started with a blank envelope. I knew right away I wanted to do Venice The picture is mine taken out of my hotel window.. which happened to be right on the canal.... I wanted it to look like you were looking at a really old postcard , or looking through something and really seeing Venice years ago. My picture was in colour, I then made it black and white, and then lightly coloured in with chalk.... Hope you like..if not maybe next time.<
