With the arrival of “Sakshi” newspaper, top Telugu newspapers are once again facing intense competition. Currently, Eenadu and Andhrajyothy are dominating circulation with Vaarttha gradually losing readership. While Eenadu is the number one newspaper in Andhra Pradesh, Andhrajyothy is the fastest growing one. We have to wait for some more time before coming to conclusion on Sakshi. But, this analysis is on top Telugu newspapers on Internet. With rising overseas population, online Telugu newspaper websites are commanding huge readership over internet. But many sites are not properly utilising the real power of internet and its user generated content.

Reader’s experience is still bad with these sites due to popup ads and bad fonts. But Sakshi website design is really wonderful with its uncluttered interface.

1. Eenadu: It is number one Telugu newspaper both online and offline. Like Malayala Manorama, it needs to build english version of website to properly monetise news content.

3. Sakshi: It is the fastest rising Telugu website in the last month. Congrats to Sakshi team for its uncluttered interface. It is one of the best designed Telugu website. But some sections are still underdeveloped.

Current rank: 22,953.

4. Vaarttha: It is quickly losing readership both online and offline. Vaarttha was number one Telugu newspaer on internet in 2003-04.

Current rank: 26,070.

5. Andhrabhoomi:

Current rank: 54,430.

But all Telugu newspapers are plagued of lack of user participation and user generated content. Multimedia sections are neither absent nor underdeveloped in most of the sites.

I can’t understand why managements are not showing enough interest over its internet properties. They should learn lessons from foreign media and Malayala Manorama.

Can Chiranjeevi create history like NTR?

Chiranjeevi was dragged into political discussions by fans and media even though he doesn’t utter a single word on his political motives. According to rumours, Chiranjeevi is in consultation with his close aides regarding his political plans and he may announce his new party after Sankranthi festival. As per sources, he wants to start a political party with new agenda with the help of young and dynamic leaders. But political hopefuls and opposition leaders are trying to place “Kapu card” on Chiranjeevi. It is interesting to see how Chiranjeevi can handle this caste image which was imposed on him even before he enters into politics. Political observers are asking few interesting questions:

1. Is there any space left for new political outfit?

In 1983, NTR easily came to power just within 9 months of Telugu Desam inception due to huge political vacuum.

But Chiranjeevi can win if he can successfully mobilise “unhappy communities” with new agenda. He may face problems in Rayalaseema and Telangana but he may emerge as largest party in coastal Andhra. It will be difficult for him to sweep polls as NTR did in 1983.

2. Can Chiranjeevi emulate NTR?

NTR used his charisma, exceptional oratory skills, media and political vacuum to the maximum to decimate Congress party. Congress leaders underestimated NTR’s ability and paid the price.
But this time, TDP and Congress are not underestimating Chiranjeevi. But Chiranjeevi created good image among people through his social activities like blood banks and eye banks.

Chiranjeevi may not get media support as it was enjoyed by NTR in 1983. Congress and TDP may do anything to spoil his political aspirations.

3. Can BCs support Chiranjeevi?

NTR came to power by successfully combining Kamma’s money power and BCs statistical power (number). Can Kapu + BC alliance come to power? We have to wait and watch.

4. Can he get support from non-Kapu fans?

It is the most crucial question. If fans from other castes (except Kapu and BC) support him politically, he may easily win 2009 assembly elections.

According to my small survey in Ongole, 30% of fans from other castes are not supporting his political ambitions. They want to see him as “Andarivadu” but not as “Kondarivadu”.

5. Available time:

NTR had just 9 months in 1982 but Chiranjeevi has 18 months to win next Assembly elections.

6. Political rivals:

NTR has lesser rivals in the state in 1983 but he faced charismatic leader like Indira Gandhi. Chiranjeevi has to face strong local leaders like Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu in the state to win polls.

We have to wait and watch his political moves before coming to conclusion. Will Chiranjeevi really enter politics?

Maoist attacks – unanswered questions

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy and Cabinet minister Rajyalaxmi narrowly escaped from the jaws of death after a landmine blast in Nellore district. Maoists once again failed to kill a former chief minister within a span of 3 years. In 2004, Nara Chandrababu Naidu escaped from Maoists landmine attack at Alipiri. We should all condemn this evil act.

But we should also think in other angle to understand the real problem. As long as our politicians think Maoist problem is a law& order one, it is difficult to control this crisis. Widening economical gap, rising corruption and lack of honest leaders making our democracy is a big illusion to poor people. Government of Andhrapradesh made this arrangement for the convenience of farmers to guide them on various Agricultural aspects. Experts on Agriculture, Sericulture, Fishery, Animal-Husbandry and Horticulture are available to clarify farmer’s doubts. This is a free information service. The following information can be obtained:

1. What type of crop is suitable for a particular season?

2. What type of soil is it?

3. The type of fertilizer and manure is needed to make that soil more fertile.

4. The protective measures to be adopted to save the crops from various diseases, by the timely application of the various insecticides and the pesticides.

5. The latest information about the ordinary and hybrid seeds.

How to use this service:

2. Mobile users: call 40—1100. It is still facing some problems.

This is a very good initiative by Andhra Government to save farmers from market rumors. It is better if they include psychologist to prevent farmers from committing suicide. Psychologist can save many farmer lives by giving proper counseling. According to latest national survey, 80% Andhra farmers are in deep debts while national average is around 60%. Government should save farmers from middle men and finance men.

This movie is a must watch for every viewer who wants a pure commercial movie.

Why do I have high expectations on Junior NTR?
He once proved his acting talent and superb dancing prowess. No one will stop this hard working star from attaining greater heights. He has ambition, talent, perseverance, maturity, support and skills to become a next superstar. He just needs a careful selection of stories and should learn to say “no” if situation needs. His new look (reduced weight) illustrated the hard working nature of this young hero. I can’t understand why Nandamuri family is isolating this future superstar! He is the most matured hero among the new generation of Tollywood stars.

Advice to Telugu Movie reviewers:

You should review a movie according to the tastes of general audience but not according to your taste. 90% of audience watch movies for entertainment. Telugu website reviewers should learn this simple thing. Great Andhra is some what better than Idlebrain in this aspect.

Who will make his life story into a movie? His real life has mother sentiment, ups and downs and other ingredients to make a super hit movie. I am waiting for it.

Hyderabad blasts- Sleepy Andhra Government

Two blasts at Lumbini Park and Gokul chat rocked Hyderabad and created tremors among its peace loving people. It exposed negligence of Government and Police people in protecting ordinary citizens. Chief Minister enhances his security according to his wish and uses intelligence department for his political purposes. This sleepy Government ignored intelligence warnings about blasts and more vigilant in monitoring activities of Telugu newspapers and Margadarsi financiers. It releases hardcore terrorists and ignores attacks on ordinary citizens for political gains. All this made our Hyderabad – a hot bed for Terrorist activities. Have you seen chaos at bus stops near Secunderabad Rail station? There are not even minimum security arrangements. Everyone knows that Hyderabad is in the Terrorists hit list and crowded places are their target areas. Police Department is busier in land settlements and Intelligence department is busy in Margadarsi episode. They don’t provide minimum security at Railway stations, Bus Stations and at parks (even on weekends).
Ex.1: Government transferred Hyderabad Commissioner A.K. Mohanti to gain MIM support in Karimnagar by-elections. Mohanti tried to destroy terrorist breeding camps in old city of Hyderabad. His mistake is arresting terrorist supporters (some are MIM activists according to media).

Lesson from this incident: Never try to suppress terrorist activists and arrest terrorist supporters. Andhra Pradesh is in the hands of worst administrator who can do any thing for political gains.

Ex. 2: MIM leaders and activists attacked Taslima Nasreen and she narrowly escaped from them. But Police registered case against woman writer. Government gave a blind eye to these activities for political gains. Do you think that this Government will protect ordinary citizens?

Lesson: Politics is more important than peace.

Can this Government save ordinary citizens? Can this Government control Terrorist activities? Can we enjoy evenings with family and friends at Tank bund? Can our Police destroy terrorist breeding spots in Old city? Can peace take more precedence over politics?

ETV and MAA TV have regained their market share from Teja TV. Gemini TV and TV9 are maintaining their number one position in Telugu general and Telugu News successively.

Top Telugu News Channels:

. TV9: 52.3% market share. It is gradually increasing its lead over ETV2.
2. ETV 2: 36.4% share.
Both news channels are much ahead of Gemini News. TV9 is marching ahead with its presentation and good brand image.

Top Telugu General/Entertainment channels:

1. Gemini TV: 42% of market share.
2. E TV: 18.3% of total market share. It regained number 2 slot due to some innovative programmes.
3. MAA TV: 12% of market share. It is a niche Telugu channel with less emphasis on serials.
4. Teja TV: 11.4% of market share. It slipped from No.2 to No.4 position.
5. ZEE Telugu: 7.1% of market share.

ETV, MAA TV and ZEE Telugu are the major gainers while Teja TV is the major loser in the recent Survey. Gemini lost some market share to the rivals due to over emphasis on routine serials with little innovation.

Horrible medical story in a hospital in Hyderabad, India

When health care becomes a business, doctors lose human values. Read this medical case which was happened over two year period in a hospital in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Hospital – Global Hospital
Lakdi-ka-phool,
Hyderabad - 500 004 A.P.

Patient: A.Jagannatham
Residence: Malakpet, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.

Age: Mid 50’s.

He was admitted with damaged liver in April, 2003 in global hospital. Doctors advised liver transplantation. His wife, Prameela, volunteered the liver. The operation was conducted with the large right half of the liver taken away from Prameela and transplanted in the body of Jagannatham.

Tragedy:

2 days after the surgery, donor Prameela suffered heart attack and went into coma. And 15 days later, her husband died of sepsis (infection). Prameela never came out of coma to see him die. Prameela died on January 9, 2007 after lying comatose for 44 months.

The family filed a police complaint charging the hospital with the negligence and filed a compensation claim with the consumer court. A ruling is still awaited.

In the mean time, Hospital slapped Rs.44 lakh claim on the family as charges for failed operation and other services. The family already spent up Rs.10 lakh to the hospital expenses.
Because of medico legal formalities, Prameela body was not handed over to her sons, but taken for post mortem.

His son says: “They said my mother would be normal in five weeks that my father would recover in six weeks. The doctors have to date not told us exactly why my mother suffered a heart attack”.

Dr. K.Ravindranath, MD of the hospital, said:”We are not gods. We did every thing we could. The surgery was successful; his liver was functioning well enough. Sepsis affects 20% transplant patients. The drugs we gave also numb the immune system further. If not for our efforts, Prameela would not have lived so long”.

TMS Torrents had a terrible incident yesterday. One of our vital file in the database was physically deleted by unknown sources (I.T. Security Techs hint a method of sql hacking).

I am still working with several security experts to plug the loophole that allowed someone to corrupt and tamper our forum that we all worked so hard to restore! The culprit will definitely be found and the loophole closed.

I have restored the forum to the earliest backup I could recover (January 3rd, 2007), so all posts, ratios, and torrents made within the last three days must be reposted/regained. We are sorry that many of the good members lost their uploads and some new members probably had to re-register.

Amidst this unfortunate event, I beg everyone to lend us your support and continue doing what you have been doing all this time and help TMSTorrents stand tall among all these ruins.

Audio Review: ‘Desamuduru’ Telugu Movie Songs

Music Director: Chakri.

This movie is for mass audience. After listening these songs, My opinion is that Desamuduru is not going to get any benefit from audio. Poori Jagannath failed to select good tunes. When compared with Annavaram and Yogi, music of Desamuduru is a big disappointment.

1. Attantode Ittantode: Pakka Mass song. Full mass entertainment song.
2. Gili Giliga: Suitable song for Allu Arjun style.
3. Gola pette: Routine average song.
4. Manasuley: Very good classic love song. Highlight of the album.
5. NinneNinne: Routine song with mixing of hindi words.
6. Satte: Another routine song.

Verdict:
Mass Audience: 3.5/5
Class audience: Avoidable.

Audio Review: Prabhas and Nayantara's Yogi Telugu album

Prabhas and Nayantara’s latest telugu movie- Yogi- audio album is relased. V.V.Vinayak is the director of the movie while Ramana Gogula is the music director of this telugu movie. Ramana Gogula gave wonderful tunes for this movie. It definitely scores over Annavaram and Rakhi. Most of the songs are for mass audience though movie is based on mother sentiment.

Ye nomu nochindo – Best sentimental album after a long tome. This song is enough for family audience. Suresh voice resembles Jesudasu. He did justice.
Ororo Yogi- Good song for masses with some double meaning lyrics.
Nee illu bangaram kanu – good song of the album. Catchy tune. Tippu and Sunitha are the singers.
Gilli Gichi – Another good mass song.
Gana Gana – mass song enough scope for good steps. Adnan Sami and Sudha are the singers.
Dolu Baja- Catchy mass song. Shankar mahadevan is the singer.

Verdict:
Mass audience: 4.25/5. Must buy.
Class audience: 3.5/5.

V.V.Vinayak knows how to obtain desired lyrics from his music directors. Only minus point in this album is one or two tunes are repititive of recent hit tunes. Ramana Gogula should not repeat this if you want a long term career in Telugu movie industry.

Why Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy should resign?

Andhra Pradesh Chief minister Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy is in big trouble. Though YSR faced criticism from opposition without much trouble in the Assembly, it is difficult to escape from legal hurdles. Affidavits submitted by Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy before 2004 assembly elections will land me in the trouble if Telugu Desam party seeks legal action.

Above document is the Affidavit with details of Immovable assets submitted by our Chief Minister to the election commision during 2004 Assembly elections.

He submitted affidavits without showing his 10 acres of land (which is recently surrendered to Govt.) As per rules, he can be prosecuted and may even put him in jail.
