Cooler Weather

We are just returning from visiting Alan and Linda in Pennsylvania. The weather was beautiful. We were able to play outside for hours at a time without getting too hot. When we left it was 61 degrees and when we got home, it was 93 degrees. After a thunderstorm, we are at 73 degrees. Maybe it'll stay cool for a little while...

The Best of Spring Break

We had a great spring break!! It was very restful and we had a lot of fun. Grandma came on Friday afternoon and took us out to eat and to see Race to Witch Mountain. (I thought it was good though a little intense for Colby at times.) On Saturday, we went to Davis-Kidd bookstore and got to meet one of my favorite authors-Mary Pope Osborne. Overall, we had a wonderful week. This weekend the boys and I are going to see Magic Tree House: The Musical.

It's that time of the year...time for little girls to come around and ask me to buy Girl Scout cookies. What is my favorite? It's too hard to choose. It depends on the mood I'm in. Sometimes I like Do-si-dos. Sometimes I prefer Thin Mints especially if they're frozen. :) Other times I prefer Tagalongs or Trefoils. I love them all!!! :)

Spring Break

The boys and I are having a fun week. They spent the weekend with Matt and came home on Monday morning. We spent Monday around the house cleaning and playing. On Tuesday, we went to the Pink Palace. The kids wanted to see "The Scoop on Poop" exhibition and then we went to see "The Grand Canyon" at the iMax. Today we were going to the zoo, but there were so many people there that we went to Riverside Park for a picnic and then went to the library.

I am starting a new life in 2009. For the first time in 14 years, I have started the year as a single person. Of course, there are difficulties involved in being a single parent and dealing with an ex, but I am looking forward to taking charge of my life. I want to lose weight, pay off my debt, and spend more time with my kids, but most of all I am looking forward to being able to be myself and be the best I can be. I do not have to worry about pleasing someone else. I just have to please me!! That makes me so happy!!

I have a birthday coming up in a few weeks, but I don't have anything special planned. One of the most special birthdays I ever had was my 16th birthday. It was the last birthday I had with my dad. He had found out that he had cancer in March of that year and had been in the hospital multiple times for chemo and radiation treatments. Because of his illness, I had my party at Aunt Shirley and Uncle Louis' house. All my friends from school were there and we had a great time!

Gram is here visiting now and she brought Heidi so the boys are in hog heaven. We have eaten out every meal and plus gone to see both Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda. Personally I like Wall-E better.
