I have to say, of all the Cave shooter kits I own, this own in by far and away the most unique. It comes with the usual set of items. Tri-fold marquee, Instruction marquee, control panel sticker, PCB, and the Dip sheet. Now comes the cool stuff. Not only do you get a CD with the musical track from the game, but you also get this little pink Corbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13375920845273977946corbie@classicnet.net0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26992855.post-50814410079180522762009-04-16T01:57:00.002-05:002009-04-16T02:03:45.495-05:00Deathsmiles PCB KitMy Deathsmiles PCB Kit actually came in about three weeks ago, but as I mentioned earlier, the site fusion we did with Nintendo Life took a bit more work than we expected, so I haven't posted on the blog in awhile. As you can see, the Deathsmiles kit has some nice artwork in it, not to mention one hell of an intense and gothic shooter. After playing the game for some time, I was planning on Corbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13375920845273977946corbie@classicnet.net0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26992855.post-54819232935747425102009-04-16T01:39:00.003-05:002009-04-16T01:51:00.978-05:00A busy month for gaming...at least for me!To say that my back catalog of new games I still need to play is mounting would be a serious understatement. In fact below is a list of games that I've bought recently that I still haven't even taken out of the shrink wrap yet.Chrono Trigger (DS)Dragon Quest V (DS)Final Fantasy IV (DS)de Blob (Wii)Loco Roco 2 (PSP)So that's basically five games, three of which are lengthy RPGs, that I still need Corbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13375920845273977946corbie@classicnet.net0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26992855.post-50607411911729351052009-02-06T03:31:00.005-06:002009-02-06T03:56:24.616-06:00Ibara pics...The Cave pcb kits come with a variety of items if you buy them brand new. You get a tri-fold cardboard poster, a marquee instruction sheet, a control panel instruction sticker, a dip sheet, the pcb Jamma board, and a set of pcb feet and screws. It all comes nice and tidy in a cardboard box. You'll even occasionally get other stuff like full-size posters, keychains, or even game soundtrack CDs. While the Sanwa stick was nice, there is no better stick for shmups than the Seimitsu. For those who've emailed asking what buttons I used, they're still Sanwa 30mm buttons. The Seimitsu buttons are a bit too clicky and sensitive for my liking with shooters. When I completely redid my Neo Geo Candy cabinet, it was one of the first things I bought for it. There isn't another arcade joystick out there that's as smooth as the Sanwa JLF. And while I'll take the Sanwa JLF with just about any genre of game, when it comes to shooters, there is a better option if you, like Corbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13375920845273977946corbie@classicnet.net8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26992855.post-60118875086885427932009-01-19T03:21:00.002-06:002009-01-19T03:26:10.090-06:00Updated Egret 2 pic...Here's the pic I promised of the cabinet with the new yellow joystick and buttons. In truth the Egret 2 is quite a bit bigger. It's about 5 inches taller, but the biggest different is the width from the wall to the front of the cabinet. The game represents only the second horizontal shooter from Cave and is unlike anything else they've developed before. The spooky theme of the game, not to mention the manic game play, gives the game a very unique look and feel to it. In truth I didn't want to post about this until I knew for sure I could get my hands on one, but now that it's a done deal, I figured I'd let the cab out of the bag. Cave has long been known for putting the "Hell" in Bullet Hell and Dodonpachi is one of the toughest games out there.
