This Sundays will be a little different than the last few - it's going to be three small books packaged together. I'm working on a book with co-editor <a href="http://www.thebearhead.com/">Alex Kim</a> and we've got some exciting stories from awesome contributors <a href="http://secretacres.com/jb.html">John Brodowski</a>, <a href="http://www.lydiaconklin.com/">Lydia Conklin</a>, <a href="http://www.slashart.com/">Blaise Larmee</a> and <a href="http://ghostcatcomics.blogspot.com/">Annie Murphy</a>. <a href="http://chuckmcbuck.com/">Chuck McBuck</a> and <a href="http://www.submarinesubmarine.com/">Joe Lambert</a> are working on the other two books. The books will debut in one shiny package at MoCCA in a few weeks. Can't hardly wait. Check out the <a href="http://sundaysanthology.com/">Sundays site</a> in the meantime for some free color comics by Joe and Alex and other Sundays contributors.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26639709-3517602761710666030?l=www.onlyskincomix.com'/></div>Sean Fordhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12408672043540817385sean.p.ford@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26639709.post-39345694440221814752009-05-01T16:37:00.003-05:002009-05-01T16:43:44.495-05:00Sundays 3 at MoCCA<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nKtjSmoQzoQ/SftrwSYtD8I/AAAAAAAAAD8/1FpCJ44zLIQ/s1600-h/s3banner015001.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 368px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nKtjSmoQzoQ/SftrwSYtD8I/AAAAAAAAAD8/1FpCJ44zLIQ/s400/s3banner015001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330973061236461506" /></a><br /><br />Head on over to the <a href="http://sundaysanthology.com/">Sundays website</a> for more info about Sundays 3. There's a three page preview of Only Skin 3 and great comics by <a href="http://danemartin.blogspot.com/">Dane Martin</a>, <a href="http://chuckmcbuck.com/">Chuck Forsman</a>, <a href="http://www.thebearhead.com/">Alex Kim</a> and a lot of other members of the graduating class of 08. <br /><br />SPX was a lot of fun. Super congrats to Chuck for taking home two bricks (ignatz awards) for his awesome series Snake Oil. The rest of the show was kind of a blur, and I'm just starting to catch up on reading comics from the event - for now I'll say that Theo Ellsworth's <a href="http://www.secretacres.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=52">Capacity</a> and Nate Powell's <a href="http://www.topshelfcomix.com/catalog.php?type=12&title=567">Swallow Me Whole</a> are completely awesome and worth picking up. <a href="http://www.buenaventurapress.com/books/bookBPB-15.php">Souvlaki Circus</a> was another cool find (originally pointed out to me by Chuck, I think) - a bizarre, charming book of drawings that do tell a loose narrative. The drawings are amazing. <br /><br />As usual I didn't take many pictures myself, but Joe has his usual nice wrap-up <a href="http://submarinesubmarine.blogspot.com/2008/10/spx-2008.html">here</a> and <a href="http://submarinesubmarine.blogspot.com/2008/10/spx-08-sketchbook.html">here</a> and D&Q has something terrifying <a href="http://www.drawnandquarterly.com/blog/2008_10_01_archive.php#3178358212804272821">here</a>.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26639709-2886425345214543397?l=www.onlyskincomix.com'/></div>Only Skinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14620335076166395970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26639709.post-22641656301307203242008-10-01T23:58:00.003-05:002008-10-02T00:08:40.693-05:00SPX this weekend<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/67015003@N00/2905919965/" title="Screen Print by crzymdups, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3276/2905919965_bc83469a98.jpg" width="500" height="356" alt="Screen Print" /></a><br /><br />Well, SPX is here, seemingly insanely early, but it's here. I can't read it, but maybe you can?<br /><br />Also, I finally got a job in NY and have a lead on a long-term place and all that exhausting stuff has led me to the sad realization that there's no way I can finish Only Skin 4 for SPX. I think it will be better to take my time and make the issue the best it can be rather than rush out a shorter, inferior product just to make SPX - even though the idea of having something ready for SPX is incredibly tempting.
