Pageant Soundtrack Arrives Today

Take the Easter Pageant home with you. You can purchase a CD copy of “The Music of the Southeast Christian Easter Pageant” for just $15. CDs are available in the Atrium on the first and second floor and at the Living Word Bookstore.

The recording features the Prague Symphony Orchestra (Czech Republic), Southeast's Worship and Children's choirs, and several soloists who will be performing in production. Recording took place in Prague, Orlando, FL and at Southeast Christian Church. The score was composed by Ron Owen; the music was written by Michael O'Brien with lyricist Daniel C. Palmintier.

Opening Night

The all-new Southeast Christian Easter Pageant opens tonight. A few hundred tickets are still available for tonight's performance. If you haven't already purchased your tickets you can buy and print them online.

At the Foot of the Cross

Bowin Tichenor answers to Judas almost every day. He does not shun that role in the Easter pageant. Not his character’s greed, betrayal of Jesus or his suicide.

"We’re all Judas in one way or another," the 31-year-old Southeast member said.

"We’ve all betrayed Jesus. The problem with Judas is he didn’t wait to see the option of forgiveness. God’s grace was big enough for Judas. He just didn’t receive it."

Set Construction is Complete... Nearly

Set construction is completed and on-stage rehearsals have begun. The actors were excited to see the completed stage and begin working their scenes on it.

The only finishing touches are the two fifty-feet wide screens that will flank the stage. They are on order from Germany and the Easter Pageant team expects them in this week.

Counting down the days...

The all-new Southeast Christian Easter Pageant kicks off in exactly 30 days. So much work brought us to this point, but much more work is still ahead. The cast is busy learning their lines and blocking scenes, the crew is getting all the technology in place and making final preparations, and the orchestra and choir are hard at work learning their parts and fine tuning their sound.

Set Construction Nearly Complete

The Set Comes Together

Check out this time lapse video of the first week of work on the Easter Pageant construction.

The set features:
-- A 46' turntable, built by Pageant volunteers, driven by a 10HP 3-phase 480V electric motor. The turntable is made of 36 deck units and rests on a system of stationary casters.
-- A 43' x 28', stationary rear-projection screen for scenery.
-- Two Gerriets MegaScreen units for 50'x26'-8" retractable screens which will display the video content produced this summer by City on a Hill and many, many Southeast volunteers.

City on a Hill Productions has been filming more scenes this week for the Easter Pageant. They're shooting in a warehouse, using a green screen to recreate the desired settings. Check out these photos for a peek behind the scenes.

The trailer features video from this past summer's filming. Southeast Christian partnered with City on the Hill Productions to produce the video portion of the new Easter Pageant.

Some of the footage you see will be used during the Easter Pageant. It's a marriage of HD video, projected to huge, on-stage screens, with live action. It promises to be like nothing you have ever experienced. Enjoy and feel free to pass the link along to others.
