While taking a look at Team Marketing Research's report on NFL Prices from 2008, I noticed a few interesting tidbits:

The New England Patriots have the highest average ticket price at $117.84 and the Buffalo Bills have the lowest at $51.24. The NFL average is $72.20. It's interesting that the Steelers, Eagles, Packers, Titans, and Saints ticket prices are below the NFL average. Each of these teams have deep season ticket waiting lists. This is an indication that they could raise prices for 2009, mainly because of the high quality of their product.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers average ticket price of $90.13 really stands out. It is the second highest average ticket price and the Buccaneers had trouble filling the stands in 2008. The Bucs have recently stated that they no longer have a waiting list for season tickets. The Bucs season ticket waiting list was reportedly 100,000 strong two years ago. It might be time lower some prices at Raymond James Stadium.

Michigan Wolverines Season Tickets Waiting List for 2009

With the 2009 football season fast approaching, Michigan Wolverines football season ticket holders got their season ticket renewals in the mail this week. According to the Detroit Free Press:

"Associate athletic director for ticketing Marty Bodnar said he's expecting the economy to take a toll on renewals, which are down a little bit, not a lot. He said the typical 2-3% nonrenewal rate could settle more in the 5-6% range this year.

Finding people to fill those seats won't be a problem, though, given the brand and hunger that has built over years. Bodnar said the waiting list is about 10,000.

Single-game UM ticket prices will vary based on the opponent, ranging from $65 for the marquee games down to $55 for the lesser-appeal games such as Delaware State. The department previously announced the total 2009 Michigan Wolverines season ticket package will be $400 for the eight-game home season, a $50 per-game average."

This puts the Michigan Wolverines season ticket waiting list at 10,000 with non-renewals approaching 600. 2009 Denver Broncos Season Tickets Waiting List Update

Demand for Denver Broncos season tickets remains at an all time high. Coaching changes and personnel spats have not diminished the fans thirst for Broncos tickets. A season ticket update just went out in the Denver Post:

"We're solid," said Kirk Dyer, the Broncos' executive director of ticket operations and administration. "We're tracking right where we've been every other year. We're very pleased. We haven't felt the impact as far as renewals go, not at all."

They're right where they've been every other year. According to Dyer, that's a high 90 percent renewal rate. Oh, and did I mention that 34,000 names remain on the season-ticket waiting list? Even the Broncos wondered about that number, since, according to Dyer, they reconfirmed its viability a couple of years ago.

34,000 on the Denver Broncos Season Ticket Waiting List is an increase of 11,000 names or nearly 50% from January, 2008! I would think Kirk Dyer would be extremely pleased...and Pat Bowlen, too. Looking at the renewal rate and the length of the waiting list, you can expect a wait of nearly twenty years to move up through the Denver Broncos Season Ticket Waiting List.

Tickets to the Men's NCAA Final Four basketball championships are one of the most coveted in the sporting world. The NCAA gives everyone a chance for NCAA Final Four tickets through a nationwide random drawing lottery. You can submit your application 10 times, the maximum the NCAA allows. Each application requires full payment for the tickets, plus a small application fee. If you don't get tickets, you will receive a refund of the ticket price.

2009 Rutgers Scarlet Knights Season Tickets Update

Rutgers University just announced a $10 price increase on Scarlet Knights football tickets. The price increase for Rutgers football tickets is a move to help alleviate some of the costs of the Rutgers Stadium expansion. With the raise, Rutgers expects to generate an additional $400,000 in gate revenues per game. Despite the tough economic conditions we are facing, I don't think the Scarlet Knights will have too much of a problem selling out 2009 Rutgers Season Tickets. Right now the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Season Tickets waiting list contains 12,000 fans and the renewal rate is around 95%.

2009 Vancouver Canucks Season Tickets Waiting List Update

With every game sold out since 2002, the tough economic conditions have not hurt demand of 2009 Vancouver Canucks Season Tickets. The team announced this week that prices on over half of the 2009 Canucks Season Tickets will reflect a 3.3% price increase. According to the Canucks chief operating officer Victor de Bonis via canada.com:

Canuck season ticket holders must commit to next season's package by the end of March or the club will offer seats to its waiting list of 4,000 fans who want about 8,000 seats. The Canucks cap season ticket sales at about 17,000 seats, leaving about 1,600 single-game seats for each game. Single-game Canucks tickets for next season will increase by a similar amount, with prices next year expected to range from about $50 to $224.

About 95% of fans traditionally renew their season tickets and the Canucks expect a similar renewal rate this year.
