I am also in the middle of working on some new branding, but I just couldn't wait to launch the new blog so kind of jumped ahead of the gun. So, this is still going to change and grow, but here it is in the beginning stages.

WPPI in Las Vegas!!! {San Diego, CA Photographer}

This was my first year attending WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International). This convention was one of the BEST conventions I have ever been to! I had sooo much fun. I met so many people/fellow photographers all coming together to support each other and learn from one another. Here are some pictures that explain themselves, and here is a list of my highlights:

David Jay/Ron Dawson seminar - fantastic ideas with so much heart!
Dane Sanders - totally rocked my world in photography. I have so much to think about and apply to my life from his seminar. Of course I bought the book too! This guy has a HUGE gift of speaking and helping people/photographers grow. His message is amazing!
Jerry Giohnis - Was a fan, now am a HUGE fan! He is a great guy, great photographer and hilarious!So many new and inventive ideas to try.
Meeting Cameron Ingalls and Gabriel and Carlie Ryan - amazing photographers, but more importantly - awesome and approachable individuals wanting to help other photographers out. Also, must give a shout out to Aaron and Amy from AHS Photography who were so friendly and so understanding and just really delightful people.
Working the shootsac booth and convincing people of how amazing the product is and getting a FREE shootsac and cover. Woohoo!
FUN times with my roomies Melissa K and Amber and Cathy Crawley - Love these gals so so much! We had a blast together into the wee hours of the morning always laughing, laughing, laughing.
Photoshoot in the desert with actual models all put together be Ohana Photographers. a great experience working with models and stretching my skills into the fashion realm of photography.

Needless to say, I can't wait for next year. I learned so much and took away a ton for me to think about and apply to every aspect of my life. Thank you everyone for what you shared with me and I hope that you were blessed in the process because you certainly blessed me!

Hudec Family Maternity

The Hudec family have a new addition since we took these pictures and little Savannah has made it into the world. Here are her lovely parents when they were full of anticipation and joy for the arrival of their new daughter. They were so excited and so relaxed, this was a very fun shoot. And the baby's room was amazing so we had to get some pics in there! Thank you Hudec family! Congratulations!!!!

Matt and Anna's Maternity shoot!!!

Yay for Matt and Anna and this super exciting time as they prepare to welcome baby Malea into their family!
Ok, you can't tell from the pictures, but it was extremely cold during this photo shoot and we did everything outside. Anna was a trooper and braved the cold weather while exposing some skin. Is she not one of the most beautiful mothers-to-be out there? And yes, her eyes are really that green and beautiful! We had so much fun during this shoot as these are very dear friends of ours and we love them very much. Matt and Anna, you are going to be amazing parents and Malea is already covered in so much love. Can't wait to welcome her into our family of friends. We love you both!

John and Nessa are married!!!

Nessa is actually one of the first people I met in Redding when we first moved there and I got a job working at Chiropractic First. I never imagined I would be capturing her wedding day on camera, but what an exciting day it was! Nessa and John are so so so in love and so sweet and affectionate. They are also hilarious and made it super easy and fun to work with them. Not to mention how absolutely gorgeous Nessa is! Wow! It was a great day and a great pleasure. I got to see all of my Redding friends too which is always a treat. Thank you Nessa and John! Blessings upon you!!! Oh, and thank you my dear friend Bethany for being an amazing assistant, could NOT have done it without you. Also, I have to mention the amazing Kristena Hays who did Nessa's makeup and Rachel who did her hair. You gals rocked the house and did a fantastic job!

Ok, well, as all of our friends know Jericho Christian Mandani arrived in December, so these pictures are a little outdated now, but nonetheless I wanted to show off what a gorgeous couple and now parents these two are. They are very dear friends and I am SO happy to be able to capture their anticipation for baby and be able to be here in San Diego to actually witness them becoming a family and welcoming Jericho into this world. Congratulations James and Kristine. We love you!

Yay for the Holidays being over and life starting a routine again! Hello everyone! I know that I have been super behind in posting, but that is only because I have been out of the country and on the road without internet, so I do have an excuse. :) Because it would take me forever to post each photo shoot I have done in the last couple months, I am going to choose a sampling of pictures from various shoots and put them all in one post. Brett and I had this fun picture taken by the amazing MA5EN at the PPT Christmas party. We had tons of fun as you can tell. :) So, this is our Christmas picture for this year and also another one taken of us at one of Teryx's favorite locations - the dog beach in Ocean Beach. (props to my dad who took the pic!)

We love you all so very much and we would not be getting through this life without each and every one of you a part of our lives. Thank you so much for your love, prayers, support, sharing with us in our laughter and tears and for just being you. :)

God is extremely good and reveals that to us every day. May you all have a very Merry Christmas, celebrating the birth of our Savior and the eternal gift that He gave us.

Well, after both Jeremy and Meghan Edwardson and Benji and Kassie Edwardson, it was finally time to take pictures of Nathan and Erica and their kids. It was a very eventful 2 hours. Their children are absolutely precious and of course Nathan's leadership and wisdom and Erica's grace, strength and beauty complete this family that is very dear to my heart. They have spoken into our lives, our marriage, shared with us in our joys and our sorrows. They are continuously led by God in His power and Spirit and they bless everyone around them.
Nathan and Erica, thank you for you for giving me this honor. It was great to just have one on one time with you even if we had to take pictures at the same time. :) Love you guys!

Tina - one of the most beautiful pregnant women ever!

I just met Tina when I pulled up to do her Maternity shoot a couple weeks ago. Immediately she was a friend. You know how you can tell the people that pregnancy just sits perfectly with, well Tina is one of those women. Not only is she naturally beautiful, but to top that she is a gorgeous and glowing pregnant woman. She was so easy to work with too, she knew exactly what to do and when and hardly needed any direction. I loved the setting for this shoot and the lighting was phenomenal. Props to the daddy-to-be as he did a great job during the shoot and his excitement for this baby was truly adorable. :) Tina, I had so much fun. Thank you for contacting me and giving me this pleasure. I pray blessings upon this little one and your growing family. This child is already covered in so much love!

Andy and Carleigh - They got class!!!

Andy and Carleigh - Classy, Beautiful, Graceful, endearing and fun. I must add that they are also troopers as the one day that we choose for their photo shoot in San Francisco, it rains and is freezing the entire afternoon. But we made the best of it and got some very fun and creative shots. Andy and Carleigh, it was so great to finally meet you and to spend the afternoon in San Francisco with you. I can't wait for your wedding in July!!!

Brice and Joann Engagement session

Brice and Joann - all I can say is "Wow!" They are an adorable couple who fell in love and are now getting married bringing their families together for a total of 6 kids! It was so much fun to capture their love because it was SO very evident and alive. They were in their own little world together the entire time making it very easy to get some great shots. Plus the Gaslamp district is just loads of fun anyways. My friend Allison Miller tagged along as my assistant and she did an AMAZING job. Thank you Allison!!!

Brice and Joann, I wish you all the best in your new marriage together! You are perfect for each other, but you don't need me to tell you that!!! :) Thank you for such a fun shoot.

My little brother is married!

Yes, My little brother got married. I can't believe it! His wife is absolutely gorgeous and so perfect for him. She fits perfectly into the family and we love her very much. The wedding was so much fun. The dancing at the reception was insane, especially for our family who could dance the night away if allowed. :) For this wedding I had my cousin, the amazing David Lee and my wonderful husband help me out with second shooting. It was a blast. I will have to post some pics that David took of Brett and I during the reception. Anyways, here are some of my favorites from the day. The wedding took place out in the middle of nowhere in Indiana, hence the cornfields. :) Shout out to David for the first picture in the field and the beautiful moment caught during communion. I and my sisters were singing during that moment. Thanks David for capturing that! Love it!
Wesley and Mindy, I love you both so much and I loved being a part of your special day. I really hope to see you again soon!

Night shooting with the Millers

We love the Millers! We had so much fun on Saturday night doing some night shooting. These are some of our new friends who share the same obsession as we do for photography. Benji and Kassie caught me right before I moved and asked me to do their one year anniversary pictures. How exciting! Yay for marriage, especially since we had the pleasure of being in the same Love and Respect group with them before they were married. Bob and Deann are the kind of people that know how to throw a really fun party and that is just what they did for their wedding. It was so evident that these two were meant for one another as they have been together since like elementary school. :) Their families came together and showered them with love and so many words of encouragement. It was a beautiful setting right on the river on one of the hottest days in Redding (if there is such a thing.) But the heat did not keep anyone from having fun at this wedding.
Bob and Deann- It was a blast. You are two very beautiful people on the inside and out and it was such an honor and pleasure to be you photographer. Blessings upon you both!

Long time again

Ok Meghan, I know, you are right. I am sorry for the long blog pause. So here I am... I am alive just in the middle of adjusting to a new place. For those of you who do not know, Brett and I have moved to San Diego. I am not really good with change as far as accepting it, but once I do accept it, I am fairly good at adapting to my surroundings. In the middle of all of this transition I have made some observations in the first week down here that I wanted to share with you all.

Housing is outrageously expensive
I miss Winco with a passion (yes, it is possible)
I love the weather where it is always cool but never cold
I have to learn how to parallel park (I hate big city parking!)
Nothing is just 5 minutes away
I miss my friends in Redding soooo much!!!! :)

So, that is my blog entry today, short but sweet. I want you all to know how much I love you and miss you and how much I look forward to seeing you soon. Please know you are always welcome down here! :)

Oh, and I joined a Photographers forum down here and I am going to the first meeting this Thursday. Soooo excited!

Also, I am still working on coming in November for photo shoots, so let everyone know that they can contact me to book their family shoot.

Jason and Bekah Amarant are married!!!

Jason and Bekah are a gorgeous couple that were referred to me through my dear friend, Bethany Skinner. I posted their engagement pics last Spring. Their magical wedding took place this past July in San Diego and it was a blast. It has been so crazy with photo shoots and moving that I am just now able to post these. Anyways, the wedding was so gorgeous, so well put together, so precise and very very special. Now, this is hardly ever heard of anymore, but Jason and Bekah's very FIRST kiss EVER was during the ceremony after they swore their love and devotion to one another. That is why I say that it was magical. Not to mention the fact that Jason and Bekah were made for the camera. Bekah knew where the camera was at all times and where to look and how to pose. She was a DREAM bride to shoot.
Here are some favorites from that day. Kudos to my second shooters David Lee - my amazing and talented cousin and my wonderful and very talented (and supportive) Husband Brett.

Pecaut family

Ok, so much of my day now consists of working, packing, editing, watching the Olympics. What a life. :) At the end of every day though, I so look forward to going through photo shoots and seeing these beautiful friends, family and aquaintances have fun with one another in front of a camera. It is truly pure joy for me. I love it!

So, Bobby and Candace and Caeden Pecaut were one of those families. They were one of those families that no matter what they were wearing or how they were posing they looked fabulous. Of course Bobby kept us laughing the WHOLE time. The photo shoot was a blast and I loved the way the pictures turned out.

Thank you Bobby and Candace! You are both such a blessing and I am so thankful to have had your presence in my life. Anytime you are in San Diego, give me a call! :)

Twins forever!

So, while we were gone on "vacation" we got to meet up with our awesome friends, Meghan and Jeremy while they were vacationing in San Clemente. I just wanted to share this picture with you all because Meghan is seriously my twin. From day one when we met we established the fact that we have soooo many favorite things in common, not to mention the fact that we look a lot alike thanks to the short blond hair, same height and great smiles. :) We have had so many people call us sisters we had to stop counting. I love this girl and I am going to miss her terribly. Thankfully, I know that at least once a year we will meet up in San Clemente! (isn't the orange cone in the background such a great addition to the picture?)
