FORT WAYNE, Indiana - Natalie and Kevin's wedding was so beautiful! Natalie is stunning, Kevin is stunning, and the whole wedding, from church to every detail at the reception was just stunning!

First of all, Natalie and Kevin were married at Trinity English Lutheran Church in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. If you haven't been down there, its gorgeous! Beautiful neo-gothic architecture, together with a beautiful and classic bride make a wonderful combination! I loved exploring all the nooks, crannies and archways of the church. And the gardens of the church are really lovely, creating really wonderful backdrops for portraits!

After the wedding, we headed over to Baker Street Station for a wonderful and super fun reception! Natalie and Kevin really wanted for all their guests to have a great time dancing, and all the guests were out on the dance floor the whole night! It was an amazing party!!

FORT WAYNE, Indiana - I loved working with Patrick and Jessica! These two really made me stop and think about how I do engagement sessions, and really made me think hard about the individual couple I'm working with! Sometimes, it is so easy to just fall into the trap of doing all the poses that I know work, but for Patrick and Jessica, those poses didn't necessarily work. Not because Patrick and Jessica aren't awesome (they are), or photogenic (they TOTALLY are), but because the poses weren't right for THEM. So, Patrick and Jessica, thank you, thank you, thank you, for making me think about my photography!

This session was super fun! We had originally planned to go to Headwaters Park and then downtown for the engagement session, but Greek Fest was going on, so that was definitely out! So, we went to Lakeside Rose Garden and it was perfect! The lighting was gorgeous, and so was the couple! We did about an hour at the Garden, and then headed over to Patrick and Jessica's house to get some photos with their dog! Isn't their dog beautiful??? I had such a great time!

Trying something a little different with the groomsmen!

Instead of standard DJ and dancing, Kim and Eric opted for contra dancing! Isn't that great?!? I love Contra Dancing! Learned how to do it in New England and never forgot!

SHIPSHEWANA, Indiana - Kim and Eric's wedding was just perfect!! First of all, after the night before the wedding was full of thunderstorms, their wedding day was perfect! Blue sky, warm but not too hot - just perfect!! And then on top of that, Kim and Eric are the most amazing, loving, caring people around, and then, add to that an amazing wedding party, and all in all, it made for an amazing wedding day!

The day started at Shore Mennonite Church in Shipshewana, where Kim and Eric had a very private few moments together for their "first look" (although I managed to snap off a couple of pictures!). Then, we had a BLAST with photos, from their formals, to outside couple's photos, to super fun family photos, and of course, amazing wedding party shots! This wedding party was AWESOME!!! I couldn't ask for more as a wedding photographer!

After the lovely ceremony, we found ourselves at the beautiful outdoor backyard reception at Kim's parents' home. Everything was set up so nicely, and the food was incredible! After Kim and Eric's SUPER FUN first dance, they had some parent dances, and then everyone got Contra Dancing lessons! Are you kidding me?!?! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Contra Dancing!! It was so much fun!

HOAGLAND, Indiana - Erin and David's wedding day was just wonderful! We had some blue sky, we had country roads, we had an amazing wedding party wanting to have fun, and most importantly, we had two beautiful people in love, wanting to get married! Is there any question why I love my job?

First of all, Erin is absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out! So nice, so genuine, and of course, really beautiful. Is there any doubt why David is in love with her? And David? David is simply awesome!! I might be the luckiest photographer getting to work with such amazing people!

The wedding was beautiful and the reception was sooo much fun! Lots of kids having fun and dancing, lots of adults having fun and dancing, and then to top it off, the minister led a Danish blessing song! I LOVED it!!

FORT WAYNE, Indiana - I LOVED last night's wedding! First of all, this is the fastest that I've done a blog entry, but with Katie and Jeff leaving on Monday for their honeymoon, I wanted to make sure I got their sneak peak photos done before they left!

Katie and Jeff are awesome! I've met up with Katie a few times and have loved being around her everytime I've seen her. But the first time I met Jeff was yesterday afternoon. And to be frank, he scared the baloney out of me! But, once I was able to see past the hard military exterior (Jeff and most of his groomsmen are all army men!), it turns out that Jeff is a really friendly, awesome and just nice guy, who loves his wife, his family and his friends! Who could ask for more from a man?

And Katie? Katie is so nice, and sooo much fun! And do I even have to mention beautiful?

Together with Katie's family, this couple threw the best party!! Ever detail was looked after, and of course, the awesome folks at the Landmark Centre are always a huge help with that! I had the best time, and I am so honored and thrilled to have been a part of this incredible day!

SCRANTON, Pennsylvania - Oh my goodness! How I loved this session with Kellyann and Ivan!! Kellyann and Ivan are really good friends with Kazi and Andrew, so when I went out to shoot Kazi and Andrew's wedding in Scranton, Kellyann and Ivan, who were also at the wedding, decided to schedule an engagement session for that same weekend! Oh, did I mention that I'm shooting their wedding in November in Pittsburgh? Totally great!

This session was among the most fun engagement shoots I've had. First of all, the costume! Did you see that amazing Russian costume set that Ivan made? Yes, I said made! The man sewed these clothes with his own two hands! How awesome is that?!?! So, we had some good fun at Nay-Aug Park in Scranton, and then retreated to do a wardrobe change!

Talk about a completely different session, man! Those formal black clothes were fantastic in the park! I loved the beautiful green background offset by the darkness of the clothes. But, then we retreated to the apartment complex where we found these incredible colors! Oh, how I love color! Oh, how I loved this session!

We rounded out our nearly 3 hour session with some awesome train tracks and a fountain! I was in location heaven! Who knew that Scranton had such great locations to offer up?!?

Kellyann and Ivan, I had a great time!! I LOVED working with you guys, and I CANNOT wait for November!

OLYPHANT & SCRANTON, Pennsylvania - I had an amazing time shooting Kazi & Andrew's wedding in Olyphant and Scranton! And I have Donna to thank for making it possible! See, Donna has been following my work on facebook and Orthodox Circle for a couple of years now. And when Kazi (Donna's very good friend) got engaged over Christmas, Donna recommended my photography. So, Kazi gave me a call, and I got to travel to Eastern Pennsylvania to shoot this amazing event!

Kazi and Andrew were such a joy to work with, and I feel so blessed to have been a part of their amazing day! Kazi is stunning both inside and out, and Andrew is among the warmest and nicest men I have ever met! These two put so much work into this wedding, and it showed in all the details! I loved all of the various ethnic events that took place, from Greek music and dancing to a very fun and lively Polka dance, to the Slavic version of the Dollar Dance! But, ethnicity aside, the Orthodox wedding service was really the highlight of the day!

This was the first full wedding to take place at All Saints Orthodox Chuch in Olyphant since a fire ravaged the building three years ago. Although the church isn't quite finished yet, it is simply stunning. Amazing gorgeous frescoes can be found all through the temple, and it was such a blessing to be a part of Liturgy on Sunday and of course, the wonderful wedding on Sunday afternoon!

Kazi and Andrew, congratulations again! May God grant you both many, many years!

HICKSVILLE, Ohio - Oh my goodness! Katie and John! What an incredible wedding! I think my favorite part is that Katie and John carved out HOURS for their after wedding portrait session! I LOVE having so much time with a couple after the wedding! And we got tons of photos all over the grounds of the church! And I love that Katie and John were up for anything! Nothing like lying on the ground in your wedding gown!

I'm thrilled that the weather cleared up in time for their evening wedding. The whole day was threatening, but, sure enough, the sky turned a beautiful blue with white puffy clouds just in time for the men's portraits outside! And the weather stayed gorgeous the entire rest of the day, giving us plenty to work with for all the remainder of the photos!

Katie is one of the most beautiful people I have ever met - both inside and out! She has to be the sweetest thing on two feet! And John is awesome! So nice, so handsome, and just so much fun!! I can't believe how lucky I am to get to work with such amazing people!

FORT WAYNE, Indiana - First, let me just say that I am so incredibly proud of this whole series! Jason, Kelly and I were originally scheduled to meet a the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo for this engagement session, but it was Mother's Day, and I think every single mother in Fort Wayne came to the zoo on Sunday. So, we decided to go ahead and shoot downtown! And it was awesome!

Kelly is so incredibly gorgeous, and so photogenic! She made this job way tooo easy! And Jason is so much fun, and such a goof in front of the camera! Together, they made my Sunday afternoon so enjoyable!

I love that Kelly and Jason were up for just about anything I could throw at them! "Sit here, lie down there, squat down, now roll over, etc". I even had Jason jump over Kelly in a few photos! So much fun! We had a great couple of hours and finished up just as the rain started to come down!

As a fellow New Englander, I can only say this: represent!

Ashley had some killer moves! LOVED the dancing!

MELBOURNE, Florida - So I get this email about 3 weeks ago from my May 24th groom, David, telling me that they are moving up the wedding to February 14th and its moving from Boston to Melbourne, FL and would I be available to make the switch? I had to think about for about a nano-second, as the thought of Florida in February filled my head and made me giggle a little. And of course, I was available, I love all my couples and how on earth could I say no? So, I said yes.

The very next thing I did was call my very good friend, Catherine McKinley and see if she was available for a Valentine's Day wedding in Florida. I think she might have giggled for a minute too. And so, we went to Florida. I believe I actually giggled when I stepped off the plane and it was 75 degrees outside. (I also pranced in the sand at the beach - just at Cat!)

The wedding was absolutely beautiful! David and Ashley are so much in love, and neither one of them could wait to get married! The whole thing was simply gorgeous, with David's father, Fr Joseph performing the ceremony, along with 3 other priests. The chanting was beautiful, the church was gorgeous, the day was awesome beyond belief! We had the best time at the reception watching all of the super fun dancing, and overall, just were so blessed to be a part of David and Ashley's amazing day!

David and Ashley, thank you both, so much, for allowing us to be a part of your world, and to document your special day for you! We both hope you enjoy a few quiet days in St. Petersburg!

Anand & Santhi's Engagement Luncheon in Fort Wayne, IN

Every detail was beautifully though out by Meena Mantravadi, Anand's mother. She did an amazing job!

I love the technology in these little point and shoot cameras! If you look closely, you can see that the camera finds the faces in the screen and perfectly sets the exposure, focus and everything! Its incredible!

And here is the beautiful couple! Aren't they gorgeous?!?

LOVE IT!! I love the Mantravadi family home. It is incredibly decorated and there were so many great spots to get some amazing photos! Good thing too, because it was COLD outside!

FORT WAYNE, INDIANA - It was such a treat for me to get to work with the Mantravadi family again. I photographed Avinash and Manasa's engagement party at the Mantravadi home in September, and it was such a treat to be able to return and work with the family again for Anand and Santhi's engagement luncheon. Once again, Meena put together an extraordinary event! And I even was able to have some of the food that she made! It was absolutely delicous!!

The event was a little different this time, because it was dang cold outside! So, we worked all of the indoor and tent locations we could find! I loved all of the amazing light we found in this gorgeous home!

FORT WAYNE, INDIANA - I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amy & Ron! If I could, I would just keep bringing these two out for photos!! They are so much in love and are so good in front of the camera!! This shoot has been in the works for a little while, and we were finally able to schedule it for tonight! (Yes, tonight. I got these blog photos are quickly!). It was cold (what else do you expect in late November in Indiana?!?). But these guys were GREAT sports! Amy's mom, Sharon, joined us and was the greatest lighting assistant! Thanks, Sharon!!! Sharon also kept bringing out the blankets in between photos to keep Amy and Ron warm, and was just the greatest help!

After I showed Amy and Ron their engagement blog photos with the urban flair, I just knew we would have to do it again! FORT WAYNE, INDIANA - I had the best time today with Angela, Steve, Teeghun and Tanner! Can this family be any more beautiful?!? And they were as much fun as they are gorgeous!! Teeghun is beyond cute, so inquisitive and just a blast to hang out with! And Tanner is just precious, so laid back and as cute as they come! Mom and Dad are awesome too!!

The whole shoot went incredibly well, but there is just one photo of little Tanner that I love so much, I'm definitely going to get a canvas made of it! Angela, email me if you think you might want a canvas as well!! I just love this family and hope that we can do this again (but outside) in the spring or summer!

They also had an anniversary dance, and this incredible couple has been married for 58 years!! 58!!!! Isn't that incredible?!?

These two are getting married next October!

FORT WAYNE, INDIANA - What a great way to finish up the 2008 wedding season!! Amy and Ron are AWESOME and I had the best time photographing their wedding!! We had such an amazing engagement shoot a few weeks ago, that I just knew the wedding was going to be a blast and incredible! And it was!!!

First of all, I couldn't have dreamed of better weather! It was near 70 degrees! On November 1st! Are you kidding me?!? Plus we still had just the tiniest bit of fall color left!! Didn't want to waste that! On top of all of that, I had a gorgeous bride, the most incredible and friendly groom, and a super fun bridal party! What more could I ask for?!?

Amy and Ron (plus Amy's mom) are simply awesome, because they have come up with a super unique "New and Interesting Way to Use Their Engagement Photos"!!!! Did you see the back of that trolley?!? Isn't that awesome?!? I LOVED IT!!!!!

I'm also super excited because I will be meeting up with these two again in just a couple of weeks for their After 8 session, and I guarantee you, it is going to ROCK!!! Be on the lookout for that session soon!!

FORT WAYNE, INDIANA - This was an AWESOME wedding!!! Stephanie and Todd couldn't have planned this day any better and the weather was great (although a little chilly) and the whole day was just perfect!

Stephanie is gorgeous (in case you couldn't tell in the photos!) And she planned every last perfect and beautiful detail of this awesome wedding! Perfectly coordinated flowers with food with details and candles, to go alongside the amazing wedding cake and unique ideas like the caramel apple favors. It was soooo great!!! And of course, its in October with all the beautiful fall foliage. I couldn't have asked for more, and I'm so glad we were able to get some outdoor photos to show off the beauty of the day!

Todd is awesome. He's laid back, awesome sense of humor, and a cutie! He kept the little flower girl and ring bearer in line with endless quarters in his pocket and just has so much love for his bride. Totally wonderful!

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO - Wow! What a great day we had! The weather was incredible (80 degrees in October?!? ROCK ON!). The people were incredible! The bride was beautiful, the groom was a blast, and this whole wedding was a ton of fun!

Brooke and Zac are such an awesome couple, and they know how to get down!! The reception was one of the most fun I've been to! It was great!!

And it was awesome to see Tami and Marcus again! Talk about a role reversal! It was great to see all these people again!

Congratulations Brooke and Zac! You guys threw one heck of a party, you had a magnificent wedding, and we wish you all the best! Enjoy your honeymoon!

Another FAVORITE!!!

Another TOTALLY FAVORITE photo!!!!!

NAPPANEE, IN - What a fun night we had last night shooting Heidi and Micah's After 8 session! They used this session just the way I hoped couples would: After Dark (hence the After 8!), not worried about getting a bit dirty, but not doing a full trashing, and just getting some super fun photos that would have been impossible on their wedding day!!

And doesn't it look like they had fun?!? It was about 40 degrees last night when we were shooting these (ok...maybe 48), but it was SUPER CHILLY!! And there was Heidi, being a total trooper in a stapless gown, and she was up for ANYTHING! "Hey Heidi, do you mind lying down on the cold cold grass?" "Hey Heidi, lean up against this super cold METAL gate!". And she was such a trooper and did it all!

After over an hour shooting, though, it was time to call it a night. My camera wouldn't focus anymore it was so dark, and although they were being awesome about it being so cold, I thought it would be better if Heidi and Micah could get warm!

Guys, it was so great to see you again!!! This session was awesome!!!

Avinash & Manasa's Engagement Party in Fort Wayne, IN

They're beautiful! They're brilliant! You want to be jealous, but they are also the nicest people to ever live! Just love them!

Can you believe that Avinash's mother did all of the decorations and all of the food? Its looked amazing!!!

During the cocktail hour, the guests were able to enjoy lawn games! Love it!!

Oh, the dancing! It was sooo much fun!!! Everyone was having a great time!!

Fort Wayne, IN - All I can say about Avinash and Manasa's engagement party is, "WOW"!!!! It was absolutely stunning and incredible and soooo much fun! The event was visually stunning with every detail being looked after and created by Avinash's mother. She created a really stunning and elegant event! And the people made the event soooo much fun!!! Between family and friends, this place was packed and everyone was dancing and having a great time!

I had never shot an Indian event before this one, and now I can't get enough! Just the colors alone kept me glued to taking more photographs than I had imagined I could! And the food! Oh the food! Do I wish I could handle spicy foods, because it smelled sooooo good! I so badly wanted to have some, but I knew if I did, I would be paying for it later! And then the dancing. Everyone was dancing and everyone was having a great time! I wish I could have stayed longer, but I am so thrilled to have been a part of such an amazing event!

Avinash and Manasa, congratulations!!! I wish you all the best, and I know that you'll have a simply extraordinary wedding!

It was totally threatening rain during the shoot, but just as we were finishing up at Lakeside Rose Garden, the sun came out and we got some awesome sunset shots! Aren't they cool?!?

FORT WAYNE, IN - Yesterday evening, I met up with Amy and Ron first at Lakeside Rose Garden where we took some nice and fun engagement photos (those pictures will be up in a couple of days). Then, we decided to have some fun, and we headed downtown, and Amy and Ron worked it!!! Check out those photos!!!

This was my first time processing the photos a little differently that I usually do! Scroll through the last sets of photos, and you'll see that, generally, I have pretty much the same style across the board. But, this session was so different and so raw and so edgy, I really wanted that to come through in the final photos. I'm not changing the way I usually work, I'm just supplementing my usual style with something a little different. Do you all like it?!?

How can you not love a wedding when they hire a Mariachi band?!? What a great way to finish out the night!!

COLUMBUS, OH - Olga and Miguel's wedding was soooo amazing!! First of all, Olga is a hottie! And Miguel is a hottie too. So, what happens when two hotties get married?!? Yup! A SUPER hot wedding!!!!

Olga's dress has got to be one of my favorite dresses that I have ever seen! And she wore it so well!!! I was so excited about the beautiful light we had at Olga's parent's house where the girls were getting ready! Didn't those photos come out great?!?

The wedding was soooo nice! I loved all of the Jewish traditions! It made the wedding so meaningful! And speaking of traditions, the whole day was totally full of them! You see, Olga is Russian. And Miguel is Mexican. And you know what happens when two families from two different cultures get together in America for a wedding? It's a night of crazy fun dancing that was NOT going to stop!!! I loved all of the music, which included traditional Russian stuff, awesome Latin beat, good ol' American music, a MARIACHI BAND!!! and everyone getting down and enjoying every bit of it!! I thought the dancing would never stop (and it was still going in full swing when we left for the night!)

I think my favorite part of the night was Olga and Miguel giving a thank you toast to their friends and families, many of whom travelled a long distance to be in Columbus! Olga gave a thank you in Spanish, Miguel gave one in Russian, and finally, Olga translated it into English for everyone else!

Once again, I was able to have an awesome shooting partner! Cat McKinley of Catherine McKinley Photography from Akron came down to shoot with me and I am so glad she did! Cat is truly a master and I learn something new from her each and every time we shoot together. So, thank you, Cat! You're awesome!!
