I was also the first to get him on the record in regards to his choice for President (would not say) and whether he would support Nancy Pelosi (would not say).

So it came as no surprise that the Wayne Parker campaign started taking that battle to Griffith. Nor should it be a surprise that anyone wanting to help Wayne Parker win the AL-o5 election in November would choose that avenue also.

Who knew that they would use me to do it?
Today I had Sen. Griffith on my radio show... he also told me that he would not reveal his choice for President in '08 because it is a 'secret ballot.' Seriously, that was his response. It is not like I asked the Secretary of State to reveal his vote or for him to let me go in the booth with him. He is staking this position out because he knows it will be hard to operate in DC if he is quoted in the press saying he supports John McCain and he knows he can't get there by supporting Barack Obama. (WVNN Talk Show Host Dale Anthony's Blog, 08/04/2008)

Who the hell is "Dale Anthony?"

Why didn't they mention my blog as "The Attack Machine?"

Honestly, I am fine with doing the dirty work here, because I don't say anything I don't believe and hell I love attention (I am an egomaniac of the highest order). "But some homeless folks are up on current events."
Right. Sleeping under a newspaper does not help you absorb what is in it.

Tell me why we should go into a prison and find people who are incapable of playing by our societies' rules and ask them help decide who gets to run this country. Why is some scumbag convict or convicted felon's vote worth as much as mine. The reality is, convicted felon disenfranchisement is one of the best things that has ever happened to this country, but the misuses of it they must be corrected.

Yeah I said "felon disenfranchisement is one of the best things that has ever happened to this country."

The obvious argument against my point that voting should not be encourage or allowed to the homeless, the incarcerated or convicted felons will be...
Perhaps we need to go back to colonial days when only white men who possessed land were eligible to vote. My point is simple, WE SHOULD NOT BE BEGGING PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROCESS OF VOTING.

Those who want to vote will, I say we ban voter registration drives, eliminate "motor voter" and do away with "Rock the Vote." The only way you should be able to register to vote is by going down to the County Board of Registrars and register yourself.

Check out where you can register to vote in Alabama:

Driver's licensing office

County and select municipal public libraries

Department of Human Resources

WIC Program, Department of Public Health

Medicaid Agency

Department of Rehabilitation Services

Why are we making it so easy?

And please, stop telling me "voting is cool" or if I don't then I can't bitch. Wrong, tell people they can bitch all they want, but if they are not informed they can only bitch, no voting.

Tell your uninformed friends to stay home on election day, convince them they are too busy to vote or tell them they changed the day of the election. It was, by far, the most interesting event of this political season so far.

The "winner" was obvious, John McCain showed confidence in his answers and hit on the answers that showed the difference in the two candidates, Obama came off as someone who was very cautious and he knew this wasn't his crowd.

Need proof Obama lost? Look no further than his supporters claiming McCain "cheated."

But one of them DID have the questions ahead of time, as proven below. The following is evidence that either McCain was NOT in a quiet room during Obama's interview OR that he indeed had the questions ahead of time. If Obama was not provided the questions as well, then McCain clearly cheated.

In a Church even, how brazen.

Bush stole the election in 2000, Bush cheated in the 2004 debates, Bush stole the election in 2004 and now McCain is cheating. Can a Republican ever "win"?

Anyway, like I said there were three questions that proved Obama was clearly out of his element and leads me to believe these upcoming debates should be very interesting.

Here they are:(Paraphrased)

What would be the greatest moral failing in your life?

Who are the wisest people you know and who will you use in your administration?

Does evil exist?

What would be the greatest moral failing in your life?

Both candidates gave answers that included "failings" the American public already knows about. Obama talked about his drug use and his drinking when he was a teenager while McCain talked about his first marriage failing being his fault.

Partisans on both sides have tried/will continue to try and use these issues to attack the opposition's candidate, but Obama's answer is laughable because it implies he has not done anything in his life worse than trying drugs and drinking when he was a teenager, safe BS answer but it was not believable.

Who are the wisest people you know and who will you use in your administration?

Obama went to the sappy my wife and my grandmother are the wisest people I know. Awwwww, you mean your wife that has already been completely marginalized and your racist grandmother?

Your wife and grandmother? This is not Oprah or Ellen, this is a political forum.

He followed that crap up with one of the biggest blunders of the evening, "Ted Kennedy."

Ted Kennedy? One of the single most polarizing figures in America today? Your gonna get a lot of crossover voters with brilliant answers like that.

McCain gave some interesting answers too. First he referenced Gen. David Petraes, "who took us from defeat to victory in Iraq" to again reemphasize his strong national security focus, something he needs to drive home as the biggest difference between he and Obama.

His other answers on this subject included a civil rights leader and a former eBay CEO who he called "an American success story."

Didn't he have a problem with "google" a while ago?

Does evil exist?

The answer to this question is a no-brainer.

Ask me what evil is and I would probably say "Those who planned and executed 9/11 and those killing our soldiers in Iraq."

McCain hit an absolute home run on this answer, a definitive answer about defeating evil and following Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell, he then talked about mentally disabled suicide bombers in Iraq.

Obama however, gave a rambling answer that included talk of "humility" in the face of evil, this is the perfect answer for a far left candidate. Full of capitulation, appeasement and moral relativism.

Evil is evil and the U.S. and while we may not always be right, the U.S. has led the way in confronting evil across the globe and for a major political candidate to hem and haw on this issue is very telling.

Overall this forum was a great look at these candidates in an unusual environment and it gives us a much better look at these guys as people and politicians. Last night McCain beat Obama on both counts.

If you have not seen this forum and you plan on voting in November, you need to watch it. George Bush...We heard the ridiculously lame "But... but.. but... George Bush..." defense?

No?

Well check this out, this one is even better. It's not just about his wife leaving him, it's also about his drinking and the MSM ignoring the story because it's from the National Enquirer. Lots of good stuff here.

First the National Enquirer's record:

...For instance, The National Enquirer had such specific details of the Edwards trip to the hotel in Beverly Hills that he could have sued them for libel if it weren't true. And as sleazy as these publications are, The Enquirer was credited with being one of the more accurate sources on the Lewinsky scandal.
Then the charges...
So it's not surprising that there's been a persistent tabloid story that the corporate establishment media has been ignoring: allegations that Laura Bush has basically decided to part company with Junior after his term of office is over again. Here are some screen shots from this week's Globe, one of the "leading" tabloids:

And finally, the evidence...

Bush held up the American flag backwards; he tapped a small U.S. flag impatiently against his thigh during the opening ceremony (a dishonoring of the flag); and he slapped the backside of a young nubile female volleyball player (no, we are not making this up):

This begs the question whether Bush had returned, in full, to his Frat boy days at Yale, including getting high on the sauce. Wonkette, for one, asked the question, "Was Bush Falling Down Drunk At Olympics?"

So you can rightfully disdain the sensationalism of the tabloids, but sometimes our guess is that on political scandals, they get closer to the truth than the corporate mainstream media -- or at least they are one step ahead of them.

Bush's behavior at the Olympics should have been a national scandal, but big media just shrugged it off as jocular good fun.

Idiots.

This is nothing new from this crowd, they also brought us these gems...

Is Bush a "Dry Drunk"? This is a Serious, Not Just a Provocative Question (clearly a serious question)

and

Bush - Stoned? I anxiously await the same stuff we heard when the Tennessee nutjob shot up a church in Knoxville.

We will hear this whether or not the guy is a conservative, a talk radio fan or a reader of the books of Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly.

I believe a shooting at a political HQ could very easily be the politically motivated actions of a mad man. But he is just that, a mad man, a monster and someone who we are better off not sharing the planet with. He may have been politically motivated and if he was that is a horrible thing, that anyone with any sense would denounce instantly.

I bring this up to remind you when you hear this charge that "the vile conservative commentators led to this" you need to ask whoever says that to reference a point where those commentators even attempted to justify or advocate behavior like this.

Ask them the following question:

Can you point to one host anywhere advocating violence? What exactly do they say that led to this?
Chances are you will hear a couple of different responses:

This...

Hate talk on the radio is no different than some hate rappers who espouse
violence in their songs. It all has the same impact on someone as weak-minded as
this shooter was. Republicans are quick to rail against the rapper but I'm sure
you'll never hear a peep out of them about this person's reading habits. Of
course, I'm sure Rush Limbaugh will be quick to point the finger of blame on
liberals.... "My friend, if liberals didn't hate this country so much, ordinary
people such as this man wouldn't feel the need to take action. It isn't it fault
that our government hasn't altogether outlawed liberalism. I'll bet you they
wouldn't be able to run down our president and our government overseas." (meaning: "They may not be saying "be violent," but they mean it")
This...

Why is it that someone can mass murder or commit an assassination and if their
reading material is of a more liberal matter, it's automatically reported by the
conservative media that he was "brainwashed", without so much as a psychological
exam but if it's someone who reads right wing hate books and talks about killing
liberals, his reading material had nothing to do with it and we need to show
proof if we think differently. (meaning: "But... but... but.. if it was
a liberal the right-wingers would be all over it." Probably, but they would be wrong and I would ask for a reference showing someone inciting violence.)

and This... (my favorite)

No actual facts that we produce for him are going to change his rant. No
direct quotes matter. No proof that his allegations are indeed, to use his
own words, "bull shit" will make any impression. (meaning: "We are talking out our asses and we can not find anything to back up our asinine positions." This is the position of intellectually dishonest cowards who will not acknowledge they are making things up to fit their political agenda.
The point is the argument "that conservative commentators are to blame for this" can not be backed up because none of them have advocated or excused political violence. None, not one.

But that will not dishonest politically motivated people from trying to use it.

Check back tomorrow and see if I am wrong. I hope I am.

UPDATE: I was not wrong.

Here.

I was thinking more of copycats. Today is one of these days. I had no internet all morning which makes prepping for a show really hard and blogging impossible. (I know I am a big baby)

Anyway by the time the internet was up Brian at flashpointblog.com had already said everything that needs to be said about State Senator Parker Griffith's latest campaign ad where he continues to not want to mention being a Democrat.

Parker Griffith is a Democrat. Say it with me. “Parker Griffith is a Democrat.” Very good.

We have to go through this exercise because in Parker Griffith’s latest ad - an attack ad against Republican Wayne Parker - he conveniently forgets to call himself a Democrat, preferring instead to call himself an “independent.”

The guys at Left in Alabama have written what would be a great response to this ad. I will change a few words (my changes in bold):

Voice over after the Griffith statement: "independent running for Congress"... "What are you ashamed of Mr. Griffith? Wayne Parker is proud to be a member of the Republican party, the party that will protect our jobs, local jobs that are vital to our economy and America's national security.

Mr. Griffith, do you have to hold your nose to run as a "Democrat"? Why do you call yourself an "independent"? Are you ashamed of the liberal Democratic Party of Ted Kennedy, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank? Are you a "closet liberal"?

You can't hide that fact from the citizens of the fifth district by calling yourself an "independent." If you're ashamed of the party whose platform you pledged to uphold, you need to denounce the Democratic Party and run as an independent instead of trying to pull a fast one on the voters of this district. We deserve better than a candidate who is not completely honest with their constituents.

I'm Wayne Parker and I approved this message."

Why Griffith keeps handing this issue to Wayne Parker is a mystery to me.

Dale Jacksonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00493695144514774521dale@theattackmachine.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2607661517994642311.post-1255141011379743992008-08-12T09:10:00.004-05:002008-08-12T09:25:39.484-05:00Thank God it wasn't Lebron James...Oh good, what's a Olympics without some good ol' fashioned racism.

Again, thank god the U.S. team has been on their best behavior and just playing ridiculous basketball.

Dale Jacksonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00493695144514774521dale@theattackmachine.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2607661517994642311.post-46300056907217643842008-08-10T17:47:00.009-05:002008-08-11T05:39:51.479-05:00But... but.. but... John McCain...My guess would be since John Edward's finally admitted to being a scumbag you have probably heard a lot about how "McCain dumped his wife too!"

Here.

Now, we get to the most relevant question - if John Edwards' political career is done, why isn't John McCain's? John McCain had a well-documented affair on his first wife, with his current wife. He has admitted in the books he has written about his life that he ran around with several different women while still married to his first wife. And don't forget that he left her for a younger, richer woman - multi-millionaire Cindy Hensley who is now Cindy McCain - after she had been severely hurt in a car accident. (It was 30 years ago, before he was in politics and it has been known for years and therefore not news.)

Here.

Why has the press kept digging at this case but dropped so many others? Because the corporations that control most of the media in this country are peeing their pants at the thought of Attorney General John Edwards and feel the need to assassinate his character now to try and preempt any role he might have in an Obama administration. (They willfully ignored it for almost a year.)

Here.

What is our obsession with this story- or at least the media’s obsession? And all that righteous puffery blowing from the “right”. How could have done this? Well- how could Senator Vitter have done it, how could Senator Craig have done it? The list goes on- but it would also include the question; how could John McCain do it? (Should we have ignored Vitter and Craig?)

Here.

OK, so now we know the new ground rules. The private life of John Edwards, who currently neither seeks nor holds public office, is a legitimate story for mainstream media because he was a hypocrite and because he lied.

As for hypocrisy, check out Alabama's chief law enforcement officer, who says the state can put someone in jail for up to one year for selling a sex toy. (Did Troy King get caught using sex toys? This guy makes quite a stretch here, but I mostly added this one because he talks about ME. Anonymous callers on talk radio(Bill, Joe, John...from Nowheresville, USA) can be as cruel and wacky as they come...but you bloggers take the cake.

Now. On with the blog...

For whatever reason, as a "talk show host blogging" (Dead Man Walking), I feel a desire to share graphics with you on whatever subject I am discussing. Why is this? Aren't you smart enough to get it on your own? I don't have this problem on the radio. Maybe I am feeling an interior self peer pressure. Perhaps I simply want to catch up with the cool kids. Maybe it is this.

I remember the old CNN/Headline news formats from a number of years ago. These talking heads and their producers could NOT read the news without showing you what they were discussing. i.e. if they're talking about a tank contract they show you a file video from 1983 of a tank running through the desert. Then there is the proverbial story on fat people that ALWAYS shows headless fat people walking. I believe in the Constitution.

...But let's be honest.

Smokers use that argument (and all of them damn coffin nail suckin' SOB's know it, deep down) as a smokescreen. (Pardon the pun/play on words)

Smokers are just dumb. DUMB. ...given that their habit makes them feel bad and less attractive, they're dumb. Smokers tend to have poor personal habits, too. Not always, mind you. Just sometimes. stinky, etc. ...know what I mean?

Understand. I was ALL of these things as a smoker. Dumb. Stinky. all that. Now I see the light and want to help.

Although I'm a libertarian (with a small 'l'), I'm beginning to agree with and believe in these smoking restrictions we see popping up all over the place. Smokers are currently bringing these things on themselves. It is their attitude, I think. It USED to be their world...now it's not. The smokers long ago could smoke anywhere and everywhere. In businesses of all stripes. Come on. I'm for "business freedom" and laizze faire and all that. The Constitution and all that, but it is long time you people realize your moroniac positions and purposeful jerkishness.

I'll share evidence (hotels) and examples (my hotel room in Birmingham this past Sunday night) of this "smoking gun" phenomena in the next blog. Hope you join me then.

TTFN.

Matt Murphyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12089094402834114541matt@murphyshow.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2607661517994642311.post-51325055660906544412008-08-05T05:51:00.005-05:002008-08-06T06:00:49.658-05:00People think that Obama is the real racist....I have been hearing about McCain's "racist ad" that dared to picture black Jesus Barack Obama next to a white woman, or two white women. Because the Harold Ford ad should have taught you

+ =
Got it?

Well unfortunately for those who trade in race relations the American people may not be buying it.

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of the nation’s voters say they’ve seen news coverage of the McCain campaign commercial that includes images of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and suggests that Barack Obama is a celebrity just like them. Of those, just 22% say the ad was racist while 63% say it was not.

However, Obama’s comment that his Republican opponent will try to scare people because Obama does not look like all the other presidents on dollar bills was seen as racist by 53%. Evidence of these predictions came as a response to the "Celeb" ad from the McCain troops showing Obama as the beloved, vacuous celebrity teleprompter voicetrack some believe him to be. Rock Star? yes. Commander-in-chief? no.

Well, Well. It seems it didn't take very long (a few days and a weekend, really) for us to fully understand the ramifications of this little Obama retort, given several times over the last week on the stump:

Obama "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

This comment was made by the messianic presumptive democratic nominee after John McCain had the unmitigated gall to actually campaign for President of the United States. He did so with the aforementioned ad -- found here. As an aside, may I say, the Presidency is an office I can only assume McCain wants to hold, based on his willingness to avoid confrontation and UN- willingness or inability to show pizazz on the stump. The "Celeb" ad notwithstanding, John McCain reminds me a bit of my 80 year old Grandfather after he cuts the front lawn. He'll "finish the job" regardless of what it looks like later, but you can tell he's not so sure he should have started to begin with and his heart wasn't in it when he got done...but I digress.

Obama responded to the ad last week by saying McCain was trying to scare you into not voting for him. Part of his reasoning is in the above quote. Barack doesn't look like the presidents on the "dollar bills". I guess I could be cheap and point out the obvious...i.e there is only one dollar bill design and only one guy on it. I COULD point out that Obama looks as much like George Washington as I do. (and I'm white) -- but I won't. We all know know what Barack had in mind.

Of course, I'd merely be left to guess on the intent except Obama chief strategist David Axelrod made clear Friday that Barack was, indeed, discussing his melanin. Find it.... here. In my opinion, this is all a subtle play to cast McCain as a thing of the past - a relic - in the mold (or mould) of Washington, Jefferson, Jackson. Old. White. Dead.

According to an opinion piece by AJC editorial page editor Cynthia Tucker found here race is not only a factor, but it is inevitable AND (this is the best part) its all John McCain's FAULT. Cynthia opitomizes the Obama position on race. He wants to have it both ways. Celebrate his glass ceiling-shattering and historic accomplishment as a grand shining moment in black history and, at the same time, DARE anyone from the heretofore white hierarchy to even mention Obama's hypocrisy when it comes to color. Put it this way....if I, as a talk show host, had said precisely the words that Obama did, I would be labeled racist and some would have called for my firing. Why? My offense? Mentioning Obama's skin. However OBAMA can bring it up with impunity...

...and that is the point...isn't it? To play the race card from BOTH the top and bottom and DARE your opponent to show a winning hand. Meanwhile, unmentioned even in bloggers paradise is the use of the subtle ageist tactics, that will (I predict) topple McCain once and for all once the Black Knight rises to conquer his old, has-been pasty-white opponent during the debates. Kids (18-26 year olds) for the first time in history will alter an election. These youngsters will elect Barack Obama, to simultaneously prove his color matters, and to prove it doesn't.

Matt Murphyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12089094402834114541matt@murphyshow.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2607661517994642311.post-6579680593043271012008-08-04T12:52:00.004-05:002008-08-06T12:16:05.111-05:00Chicks... What are they doing out of the kitchen...?
Wow. I was starting to read some of this story about how the DOJ, the State of Alabama, the Nazis, Exxon, the media and the Illuminati are taking a guy at UAB down for blogging. Then I stumbled across this piece that I did not see discussed anywhere and I stopped reading. What a "brilliant" piece by Legal Schnauzer.

He also has a problem with chicks.

His posting is a brilliant screed about the problem of women in positions of power.

One final thought: Women, and all people who care about equal rights for women, should be ashamed of what is taking place at UAB. Every key player in my termination, at least the ones on the surface, is a woman. Every person in my chain of command at UAB--Pam Powell (my supervisor), Dale Turnbough (Powell's supervisor), Shirly Salloway Kahn (Turnbough's supervisor), and Carol Garrison (university president)--is a woman. Locke, of course, is a woman, and my administrative leave meeting was conducted by Anita Bonasera (a woman). Our departmental HR representative is Janice Ward (a woman).

Every woman I've mentioned knows that my termination is bogus. Some of them might not know exactly what, or who, is driving it. But my guess is that at least half of them know exactly what is going on. Has any of them had the guts, or the character, to stand up and say, "This isn't right, and I'm not going to participate in it." Nope.

Besides me, the only man in the whole process has been Bobby Barnes of Employee Relations, and he only became involved because Kelly Mayer (a woman) had a conflict.

More men = better decisions.

Wow, just wow. Now he will tell you how much he loves women...

I've long been a supporter of women's rights; it's one of the main reasons I'm a Democrat. I want my wife and mother and sister and nieces to be treated fairly and equally under the law. If my wife and I had a daughter, I sure as heck would want her treated fairly and equally under the law. For what it's worth, this blog has been inspired by our miniature schnauzer Murphy, who was a girl. And I would have put my life on the line for her.

...and he even loves dogs that happen to be chicks.

But, he still loves women, just not in power.

Well, my recent experience at UAB is causing me to reassess that position. It's not that I'm suddenly hostile to women's rights; I'm not. But anyone who thinks an organization is going to be more ethical, empathetic, rational, reasonable, caring, or efficient just because women run it . . . well, I think they might be in for a surprise.

Yeah! And they are always PMSing too...

This guy is talking about people being, ethical, empathetic, rational, reasonable, caring, or efficient?

Greatest. Insane. Web. Posting. Ever.

Dale Jacksonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00493695144514774521dale@theattackmachine.com0
