Martha and I just hung up the pieces today and the show looks amazing. Nimit, Yuta and Martha all have stunning works that they have spent countless hours on. Dreamworks Studio

Ronald Kurniawan, who is an amazing artist, was kind enough to give us a tour of Dreamworks Studio. The artists there are INSANELY talented! There is so much time and patience that is put into each movie. The Studio looked like a resort from the outside with ponds, miniature water falls and a buffet for lunch and breakfast. But the moment you stepped into the building it was dead silence, everyone was working away to meet deadlines. Martha and I got to see all the new movies in production that will be released in 2010 and on. Overall it was a great experience to see the studio life. I'm not sure it's for me but I'd love to one day do some freelancing for them. For now, It's back to the drawing board and long sleepless nights.

Princess peach looks like she's enjoying herself. I haven't worked in paint in a while but I'm slowly getting back into things. Los Angeles has been great, I've been meeting many great artists and have been learning lots.

Martha and I have been interning for James Jean and Project Gallery for the last month and a half. It's been an incredible experience as well as eye opening. I will post pictures later on in the summer.

The next pieces will hopefully be done in oil paints for the up and coming fresh faces show by Project Gallery. Many thanks to Beau Basse for featuring Martha Chan, Nimit Malavia, Yuta Onoda and I in the Septemeber 6th show.

I'm trying to keep a balance between traditional art and digital. I found over the past year, I became stuck on only painting digitally. It was much more forgiving then traditional mediums but I simply miss the look and effect of traditional paint. There is a natural flow that cannot be captured on the computer.

What's going on? real paint? that's right...you'll be seeing more of this. Im in process of recreating the big fish piece with mixmedia. I painted the background and poured bleach on the canvas. It looks cool but i think I'm slowing dieing from the fumes. I'll post the final piece when it is completed.

I attended the Toronto Comicon today with Martha and Jeff. Harvey Chan is selling prints at the convention. I bought one of his new prints and they're beautiful. GO BUY one! It runs for another day, if you have some spare time drop by for an hour or so and check out some art.

Done for my interpretive class.

This was a drug prevention campaign done for the Toronto Kensington market. It was was group project and to tie in the whole "look" of the project we decided to use black and white for the drug and for the "help aspect" we used a spot colour.

New Pet....Fish?

I decided to buy a Chinese fighting fish (random decision I'd say), mainly because they are extremely easy to take care of and they're pretty. After buying the fish I was then inspired to paint, so the painting above is the result. The poor thing doesn't have any vegetation but at least it's stuck in an awesome glass tank,which was a flower vase i think, that I found at Winners. Anyways, I should probably buy it some some sea weed and maybe some friends.

Supposedly they live in rice fields, I didn't know such pretty critters lived in.....rice.
