According to the publisher, Alexander Street Press, it includes "more than 1,500 titles and 500 hours. It will continue to grow to include more than 5,000 complete titles and 2,000 hours of rare newsreels and important documentaries from leading producers such as PBS, The History Channel®, Bullfrog Films, and California Newsreel."

Electronic Books from Springer Publishing on Trial

This trial covers all Springer eBook Collections for copyright years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 including nearly 10,000 eBooks and eReference Works, and is available until the end of October. The titles included cover a wide range of subject areas, with emphasis on science, technology, and medicine. Titles we can access are identified by green squares.

Latino Writing Collections

The collections include poetry, short stories, folk tales, novels, memoirs, non-fiction, and plays in both Spanish and English from Latino writers around the world. GREENR focuses on the academic study of sustainability and the environment. Both interactive and current, GREENR allows users to navigate issue, organization and country portals. This resource provides news, background information, video, unique commentaries, primary source documents and statistics in the categories of energy systems, healthcare, food, climate change, population, and economic development. Through an arrangement made by SUNYConnect, the database is on trial until the end of 2009.

GSS 1972-2008 Cumulative Data File now Available

The 1972-2008 GSS cumulative data file for the National Opinion Research Center's General Social Surveys (GSS) is now available from the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research via RoperExpress immediate download.

The newly released data file contains individual response coding for 53,043 respondents and 5,364 variables. The questionnaire contains a standard core of demographic and attitudinal variables, plus certain topics of special interest selected for rotation (called "topical modules"). Items that appeared on national surveys between 1973 and 1975 are replicated. The exact wording of these questions is retained to facilitate time trend studies as well as replications of earlier findings.

Since 1972, 17 volumes of primary material documenting the actions, debates, and thoughts of the First Federal Congress and its members have been collected by the First Federal Congress Project (FFCP) and published by the Johns Hopkins University Press. These volumes of the Documentary History of the First Federal Congress are used by Congress, historians, political scientists, and jurists to understand the most important and productive Congress in United States history.

The Early Republic brings this rich legacy to the fingertips of a new generation of students and scholars. Comprising 17,000 annotated pages and 250 images, the innovative online reference features a cumulative index and robust search engine. The Early Republic will incorporate the full text of future volumes and will eventually incorporate digital editions of other publications relating to the colonial period and revolution.

The DynaMed topic on Swine Influenza consolidates information from multiple sources for health care providers to stay current with recommendations for monitoring, diagnosing, and treating patients with flu-like illnesses during this outbreak. DynaMed Editors will continue to monitor information and update this topic as needed throughout this global crisis.

This new online resource for teaching and research will include thousands of rare newsreels from 1929 through the 1960s, including the entire series of both Universal and United. You'll also find the historic Longine Chronoscope broadcasts and hundreds of hours of documentaries from leading producers such as The History Channel®.

All videos and transcripts in the collection have been Semantically Indexed and are fully searchable and browsable.

While there is overlap between our holdings and those available from the State Library, many resources are available which are not part of our collection.

1. Update installed EndNote X2 or X2.0.1 using Program Updates. Within EndNote , choose " EndNote Program Updates" from the "Help" menu.

WINDOWS NOTE: While the update/installer is titled X2.0.2, the "About EndNote " description remains "X2.0.1 (Build 3514)" after installation. This version of the update does not require users to uninstall and reinstall the program.

The Royal Society Digital Journal Archive
(http://journals.royalsociety.org) is now free to access until 1 February
2009.

The Royal Society Digital Archive is easily the most
comprehensive journal archive in science and contains some of the
most significant scientific papers ever published. Covering
almost 350 years of scientific research across the disciplines it
is a priceless academic resource. The Royal Society Digital
Journal Archive, dating back to 1665 and containing approximately
52,000 articles, is available online and is FREE for a three
month period.

The development of this digital resource means that the Society's
online collection now contains every paper ever published in the
Royal Society's journals - from the very first peer-reviewed
paper in Philosophical Transactions in 1665 to the most recent
interdisciplinary article in Journal of the Royal Society
Interface.

Seminal research papers include accounts of Michael Faraday's
groundbreaking series of electrical experiments, Isaac Newton's
invention of the reflecting telescope and the first research
paper published by Stephen Hawking. The Archive provides a record
of some key scientific discoveries from the last 343 years
including: Halley's description of 'his comet' in 1705; details
of the double Helix of DNA by James Watson and Francis Crick in
1954; and Edmond Stone's breakthrough in 1763 that willow bark
cured fevers, leading to the discovery of salicylic acid and

New Titles Added to Oxford Reference Online

Oxford Reference Online has added four in-depth and scholarly titles. Coverage of the sciences is enhanced with the new Oxford Dictionary of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, containing over 21,000 entries, and The New Encyclopedia of Reptiles and Amphibians, which includes over 200 color illustrations and photographs. Also new are the Grove Book of Operas and The New Grove Book of Opera Singers. There are close to 200 titles in the entire collection.
