Bill Gates, the founder of software giant Microsoft, is in India to receive the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development on behalf of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that has been actively working here in the field of health and development, especially HIV/AIDS.

Gates will also meet Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here Friday.According to officials at the foundation, he has a tightly packed schedule but the main focus of Gates' visit is accepting the prize on behalf of the foundation.

"The foundation has been working actively on a range of issues, including HIV/AIDS. During his visit, therefore, he will highlight the key milestones of the foundation," an official said.

In 2003, the foundation launched Avahan, a 10-year initiative to support India's efforts to reduce the spread of HIV. To achieve this the foundation has been working with vulnerable communities like sex workers, drug injectors, and men having sex with men, among others, in six states of the country.

Alright, somehow Ekta has easily replaced Mahabharat (1988) title with her own Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki (2008), but will she be able to replace the royal presentation, the premium language and accent of epic characters, the base of power and mightiness in elders' voice, the charm and personality of Krishna-Arjun-Duryodhan generation, excellent combination of beauty-gestures-traditions of Rajmata and Rajkumari/Putravadhu; and above all, the matured voice of Harish Bhimani as Samay ? (

Now, coming back to Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki (2008), after watching the first episode, anybody would feel like someone has thrown the same Agrawal/Viraani Parivaar in hastinapur. There was no difference from day to day saas-bahu drama. The only question would bug you is why the hell characters of Mahabharat look like people from Greek mythology !!!!!!!! The costume designers of Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki (2008) seem like great fans of Age Of Empires or Age of Mythology game.

Neither there is anything good about cinematography. The camera views are same as any other Balaji television, Zoom from left right top bottom, fade in fade out and added glow effect. Hard base drums in background adding more into the noises created by thunder and lightening voices.

Coming to a very important character, Draupadi is played by Anita Hansandani (one of the females with Akshay Kumar in Khtaron Ke Khilaadi Show) looks less mannered and more seductive in that red bed sheet designed by Manish Malhotrae is pathetic at dialog delivery. Neither she has that power and proud in her voice what a Panduvadhu should have. All other leading characters are so unfledged that they are doing injustice to the actual characters of Mahabharat. All five Pandu Putra are looking less from Hastinapur and more from Salman Khan's highly equipped gym. Neither their gears are well designed. Bheem used to carry a golden Gadaa, but here, he is carrying a bunch of cutters hooked together. Over all, all these five characters are looking like a poor a gardener family who found a couple of jeweleries while digging into the ground.
In one line, by looking at the first two episodes, Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki is a big disaster and the same quality continues, i don't think Ekta will be able to recover the investment she has done for the high definition recording of the series, doesn't matter how much numerology she applies.

With the public release of its second beta, Microsoft said it intends for the Internet Explorer 8 browser to be more customer-oriented than previous versions of its browser. Our initial impression of Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 is positive: we think Microsoft has not only caught up with Opera, Safari, and Firefox, but in some cases even surpasses these other browsers with its innovative new features. IE8 offers people several enhancements like color-coded tabs, increased privacy options, and greater security features baked right in. Most of the new features require systems to be running Windows Vista SP1 or Windows XP SP3. The final version of Internet Explorer 8 is expected in November 2008.

The user interface hasn't changed much since Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1, except to add a Security pull-down menu between Page and Tools on the main toolbar. In addition to blocking phishing sites, IE8 now highlights the main domain of any Web site you visit. Thus, if something other than eBay.com is highlighted, chances are you are on the wrong Web site. Perhaps the most anticipated addition is Internet Explorer's new antimalware protection. Opera 9.5 and Firefox 3 both recently added antimalware protection. Safari has so far not announced plans for similar protection. Using mostly its own antimalware technology, Microsoft will block emerging threats by masking the entire IE 8 browser screen with a warning to users. The addition of malware protection to the existing antiphishing protection will be rebranded as the Microsoft SmartScreen filter.

In another feature, known as InPrivate, Microsoft allows the browser to suspend caching functions while you surf. Some scenarios for using InPrivate might be when you're using someone else's computer, when you need to buy a gift for a loved one without ruining the surprise, or when you're at an Internet kiosk and don't want the next person to know which Web site you visited. While you can currently clear the browser cache with a mouse click, it's an all-or-nothing action. InPrivate temporarily suspends the automatic caching functions, allowing you to keep the rest of your browsing history intact.

IE8 also contains a cross-site scripting filter, one of the first in a mainstream browser. Cross-site scripting allows an attacker to execute script on a user's browser without them knowing. When the IE8 filter finds a Web page with a cross-site scripting request, it changes the content on the page with a notice. IE 8 Beta 1 has already introduced several changes when handling ActiveX components. Components will be installed per user, which eliminates the need for everyone to have administrator privileges. In addition, you must acknowledge or opt-in for the component to run, eliminating drive-by downloads. Components will be per site and will only be available from the site of origin. Finally, site developers can request killbits, code that identifies a particular ActiveX control, from Microsoft which can be sent via Windows Update to terminate risky or outdated components. Killbits look for a specific identifier; if the identifier is missing or marked bad, an application will not run within Internet Explorer until the developer issues an updated version of the application.

Getting back to the customer experience, there's an underlying assumption by Microsoft that everyone wants new tabs. For instance, opening a bookmark means automatically opening a new tab. To re-open a closed tab, you need first to open a blank tab; same if you want to restore a previous session within IE8.

Fortunately, IE8 has included a new color-coded tab system that interrelates tabs. If you are on one page and click a link to open another tab, the two will appear side by side and share a color. This may work for casual users, but for a power user who needs 10 to 15 tabs open with tools and sites frequently visited, the proliferation of new tabs becomes unwieldy--whether or not they are grouped and associated by color.

IE8 provides what Microsoft calls an "accelerator." Here's how it works: highlight any word or phrase on a Web page and the browser will prompt you with a blue arrow icon. Now, use that icon to associate that word or phrase with a Web 2.0 service, such as Google maps to conveniently find an address. You can customize the options. Your accelerated item will appear in a new tab that is color-coded and adjacent to the original reference tab.

All this is good news for loyal Internet Explorer fans, but loyal Firefox fans still retain the customization edge--for every new feature in IE8, there will undoubtedly be another Firefox extension produced soon enough. If anything, IE8 will serve notice to the other browsers that the sleepy giant has awakened. The browser wars have reignited.

Remember nobody is born as natural speaker. Of course we can bawl the heads off and make heck of the noise when we were been born - but it is is not quite same!

Greatest speakers today have not just become great overnight! They do have spent lot of time practicing reviewing and reading about the way to improve getting the specific one-to-one feedback on how to improve and also having lots of specialized training and the coaching.

It will take time and also effort to read absorb and apply. It will also takes time and efforts to attend the training courses or the seminars and get a good professional training. If we want to differentiate yourself at the work by becoming great presenter however then it is something which is certainly worth investing the time in.

There is the simple structure into which nearly all the presentations must fit. This comprises of the three clearly identifiable parts - Introduction followed by the main body and finally the conclusion.

Often this is expressed as:

Tell what you are going to tell them
Tell them
Tell what you have told them.

The good guide for breakdown of the presentation is 10/80/10 rule - where the introduction and the conclusion are each allotted of 10% of a presentation time with a main body comprising of about 80%. For example the 30 minute presentation should have 3 minutes for introduction and conclusion each and the main body lasting for 24 minutes. This formula may be applied for any length of the presentation - as it do reflects the good breakdown from audience’s perspective.

Mukesh Ambani's $20 billion home

Mumbai - Mukesh Ambani, India's wealthiest resident, is building a 60-story vertical palace in Mumbai, complete with a helipad, swimming pool and space to park about 170 cars.

Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries and No. 14 on Forbes' list of the world's richest people--with a fortune we estimate at $20.1 billion--is reportedly spending $1 billion for the home in posh south Mumbai.

"Like many families with the means to do so, the Ambanis wanted to build a custom home. They consulted with architecture firms Perkins + Will and Hirsch Bedner Associates, the designers behind the Mandarin Oriental, based in Dallas and Los Angeles, respectively," the report said. "Plans were then drawn up for what will be the world's largest and most expensive home: a 27-story skyscraper in downtown Mumbai with a cost nearing 2 billion dollars."

According to Forbes, Mukesh, along with his wife Nita Ambani and three children, currently live in a 22-story Mumbai tower.

South Korea is a very interesting country, which I recommend visiting for a series of reasons. Below ten reasons to visit Seoul and South Korea.

1. Korean food - even though Korean food has some elements in common with other Asian cuisines, such as the use of soy and soy products (like tofu, soy sauce etc.), some spices and rice, it is entirely unique. There are ingredients, combinations of flavours and recipes that you will not find anywhere else, so, if you are a food lover and interested in experiencing new flavours it is worth visiting Korea. There are Korean restaurants around the world, but you will never find the same flavours and variety of Korean cuisine as in Korea itself.

2. Shopping - shopping in Korea is an amazing experience. In a city like Seoul you are able to go shopping at any time of the day and night. Also, the variety of shopping centres, markets, shopping areas and department stores is incredible and caters for every taste, need or pocket. Often shopping in Korea is part of a family day out, as many shopping centres are created near attractions such as amusement parks, aquariums and places of interest for tourists.

Also, a typical Korean treatment is cupping, which was made famous in the west by Gwyneth Paltrow. 6. Korean ginseng and green tea - Korean ginseng is considered to be the best in the world and, if you are a fan of this medicinal root, you can buy it cheaper in Korea. Also, Korean green tea is very good and great for health.

The Olympic Games are an international multi-sport event. The Modern Olympic Games were inaugurated in Athens in 1896, and are held at the beginning of every Olympiad. The Games were organized as a summer sports event through 1920. In 1924 the winter games began in Chamonix, France. Until 1992, they were both held in the same year. Since then, the summer games are held during the first year of an Olympiad, the winter games during the third year.

The original Olympic Games were first recorded in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece, and were celebrated until AD 393. Interest in reviving the Olympic Games proper was first shown by the Greek poet and newspaper editor Panagiotis Soutsos in his poem "Dialogue of the Dead" in 1833.Evangelos Zappas sponsored the first modern international Olympic festival in 1859. The governors of the U.N. nuclear watchdog approved an inspections plan for India on Friday, an important step towards completing a nuclear cooperation deal between New Delhi and the
United States .The plan, approved by consensus by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s board of governors, will permit regular IAEA surveillance of India’s declared civilian nuclear energy plants — 14 of 22 existing or planned reactors.This clears a hurdle to an accord that would allow sales of atomic materials and technology for civilian use to India . The deal has been criticised because New Delhi has not signed the global Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Washington will now need the approval of a 45-nation nuclear supply cartel to grant India an unprecedented waiver allowing trade with a non-NPT state and ratification by the U.S. Congress for the deal to go into force.
The first Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) meeting on India is expected to be held on Aug. 21-22, diplomats said. Twenty-six of the 35 nations on the IAEA governing body are also NSG members. The IAEA’s director said the inspections scheme met non-proliferation safeguards standards and talks had begun on a system of more intrusive, short-notice checks — intended to boost confidence in India ’s intentions. Industrialised powers say the deal ushers India towards the non-proliferation mainstream and would fight global warming by fostering use of low-polluting nuclear energy in developing economies, cutting high oil and gas costs too.Simon Smith, British ambassador to the IAEA, said the deal would “make a significant contribution to energy and climate security”.

“This is an important day for India and for our civil nuclear initiative for the resumption of India ’scooperation with our friends abroad,”

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said during a visit to Sri Lanka .

Usually, most new technologies have to face a similar technology lifecycle that describe its technological maturity concerned with a product. However, it is not as similar as a product lifecycle but the technology lifecycle equal applies to an entire technology, or a generation of a technology.
