Men are starting to pimp out their girlfriends at local area hot spots for extra cash. Could this be the start of a new trend?

“I recently had my hours cut back and we are really tight with cash, so I and my girl talked it over and she was okay with it.” Said a patron at City Tavern. “She just goes over and flirts with the regulars at the bar and goes out to their car for whatever she can get – usually $50 - $100. ”

Upon attending several area night clubs and bars it is not a freak occurrence. This was going on at several popular establishments. “It pays the rent and its just meaningless sex,” said a patron at the popular Fox and Hound. “everybody knows about it and they’re all cool about it.”

Donald Trump was quoted on the popular series The Apprentice as saying sex sells. He is right and according to these novel entrepreneurs into the sex industry it pays the bills. As the economy continues to worsen with rising gas and energy prices we will probably be seeing more of this.

These loans can be pay day loans, cash advance loans, check advance loans, post-dated check loans or deferred deposit check loans. Typically the borrower rights out a check for the amount of the loan plus a fee. This fee can range from 10% to 40% of the loan and the borrower usually has two weeks to pay it off in full. Most can’t pay it off in time and end up owing, in some cases, more in fees than the amount of the original loan.

Some states like South Carolina have placed limits on the fee amount allowed. South Carolina law limits this fee to 15% of the amount borrowed. If you were to look at this in a yearly APR it would be 390% interest. Most states have usury laws which limit a yearly rate to 30% or under. Currently Pay Day stores slip by by stating that loans are paid off in 2 weeks so no violation has occurred and that they are providing a much needed service to people that have no where else to go.

The actuality is that most of these borrowers cannot repay on time and so they are forced to pay the interest and take out another loan to cover the principle. Currently the average borrower in South Carolina takes 10-15 loans to payoff. These statistics are similar in other states. Which means the borrower will pay $400 - $500 in loan fees on a $400 loan. This is usury and should be illegal as it is not helping anyone. It is predatory lending that just gets borrowers in deeper debt than before.

“Some will say, that little man has to have somewhere to go,” said state Rep. Eldridge Emory, “Butif he gets money this way, he’s just digging a hole deeper and deeper, and he’s not going to get out.”

Several states like North Carolina have currently banned this form of predatory lending. Others are beginning to consider legislation to further control and possibly curb pay day loans. Still more needs to be done.

David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. Many doctors have and still prescribe marijuana - yes it can be obtained legally through a prescription. Now, the government is doing research into a patch or possibly gum, along with the Marinol pill and other similar treatments to treat more malodys like gulf war syndrome, migraine headaches and similar.

The Food and Drug Administration has recently granted several researchers from large universities and research centers from Harvard to Maryland approval to study the effects of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) in various delivery methods. Some of these The oral methods have recently been approved and released for treatment of chemotherapy and AIDS related weightloss issues. They, along with injectible and patch and gum or lozenge methods of delivery are now being researched for treatment of migraines, psychological associated diseases (Gulf War Syndrom and similar), and even ADD and ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and mental and psychological abnormalities. The list of research the U.S. Government has recently backed continues to grow.

The U.S. government is giving in to the undeniable fact that marijuana does have medicinal properties that can help patients with various conditions and that it should be made more readily available. Recently marijuana and THC have been brought down to a class 3 drug under the DEA. This will make it easier for doctors to prescribe THC and marijuana and get it to those who need it. The National Institutes of Health and an affiliate of the National Academy of Sciences have concluded that the active ingredients in marijuana can ease the pain, nausea and vomiting of cancer and AIDS (courtesy National Academy Press). Even charitable organizations that long withstood the attributes of marijuana have changed their views:
"The American Cancer Society has always been on record against people smoking tobacco
and marijuana,'' said Allen St. Pierre, executive director of the National Organization for the
Reform of Marijuana Laws in Washington, D.C. This is a way to assuage opponents." The
American Cancer Society is currently funding a three-year, $361,000 grant for research at
the Albany College of Pharmacy.

There is currently only a few choices smoking, oral (Marinol) and injection (Sumatriptan). According to patient research the smoking method is still preferred as the patient feels more comfortable in determining what amount of "high" they receive. The complaints with the pill is that it takes too long for it to have effect. Then when it does take effect the patient is rendered useless for a period of time. This seems to be a delivery problem and being that there are no competing manufacturers the doctor and patient have little choice.

A THC patch or gum could easily solve this problem as these delivery methods, similar in property to smoked marijuana, can easily be removed when the patient feels comfortable and is sufficiently medicated. This would put control back in the patients and doctors hands with more choices. It would also make these medications less expensive and more apt to be accepted by society. The patch and gum are currently in use for smoking control and cesation and are very effective in this delivery method. This is not to mention the cancer factor from smoking is removed making it much safer and acceptable.

It would be believable to assume a THC patch and possibly gum will be available and
through the clinical trials in the next few years. As more acceptance for the medicinal
use of marijuana and THC grows it is possible that it may gain universal acceptance for medicinal use.

David Maillie is an alumni of Cornell University and specializes in biochemical synthesis for public, private, and governmental interests. These keywords are the actual top 11 on the internet. Use them and you are on your way to increased traffic, profits and results. Here they are and a little about each to help you on your way.

1) Paris Hilton. Whether we like it or not Paris and her wild lifestyle are here to stay as she is now considered one of the biggest stars. She is sought after by almost every fashion designer and her keywords will do well with any fashion or clothing content.

2) Google. Well, this one is obvious as Google is the largest search engine (regardless what Yahoo says). Being that Google is a search engine it can be used in any content, but works best with relation to websites, search engines, computers and software.

3) Yahoo. The second largest search engine and distant second on Pay per Click campaigns - very, very distant at that. The same will work for Yahoo. Stick with computer related material and you will do well.

4) Ebay. The worlds largest marketplace and auction. Ebay, for the most part is a wholesale marketplace. It is ruled by feedback and can give you a good idea as to the real value of a car (check Ebay motors). On Ebay anything goes including people selling tattoo advertising on themselves. In other words, anything can be linked to Ebay in one way or another. Yes, there is even porn on Ebay.

5)Eminem. Yes, the real slim shady is back. According to R and B and rap he never left as he is the number one rapper currently. If you need content on current music or teen and young adult topics Eminem is sure to bring you visitors.

6) Britney Spears. She was the hottest pinup for teens and preteens, but now she is probably pregnant again. I wonder why Kevin Federline didn't make the list - is it that he isn't a good singer? Britney is great for adolescent or music related content.

7) mapquest. Want to know where something is or how to get there. Being that we are getting closer to summer people are plotting out there vacations. Or, maybe, due to increasing gas prices thanks to George Bush, maybe they are figuring that its too far and will cost too much in gas. I bet if Hillary Clinton were President these gas prices wouldn't be any higher than $1.60 per gallon. These high gas prices have to do with the Bush family and their ties to big oil and energy. See, Mapquest can be linked to just about any content you want if you just try a little.

8) Tsunami. Even though the big one is over. Relief efforts are still in effect and so are the relief efforts for Katrina. Hint - these people still need lots of help. Tsunami is probably a big keyword due to the recent specials on TV about the next possible tsunami that might hit America. People are concerned and interested over these large scale natural disasters. When is the next earthquake going to hit California, will atsunami hit New York, and what will this hurricane season bring?

9) Girls. Yes, of course. There are millions of perverts and closet perverts out there that are a little over-fascinated with girls. As Donald Trump once said, "sex sells." Yes it does and nothing sells better than women or girls. They can sell anything including the worst items in infomercials and complete scams. A beautiful girl just needs to show a little cleavage and TV ratings soar. Just think what girls can do for your content.

10) American Idol. This is the top rated TV show and its in its 5th or 6th season. It has launched one star - Kelly Clarkson and a bunch of duds. Randy, Paula and simon have now become household names along with Ryan Seacrest. Any content you can tie into the current cast will do well. The previous casts should be avoided as they will soon go back to karaoke and such at local bars.

11) Skin care and skin treatment. This has always been a big one with women. It has been rumored that women will go without food before they will go without makeup and such. Just ask any department store how important skin care and skin treatment products are to their bottem line. Everybody gets them, albeit some are more severe than others and some can indicate something more severe. Everyone has had them - sinus and allergy headaches, migraines, etc... This article will answer the questions of what causes them and how we should treat them.

The most common headaches are tension and allergy related headaches. When you feel pressure in your sinus areas or if you feel pressure around the top part of your head this is what you are experiencing. They are usually a dull bothersome ache that feels like a weight hanging from that area. They also tend to slow your reactions and make you lethargic. They can last from a few hours to a few days. Allergy headaches are usually associated with sneezing, stuffy nose, and can drain from one side to the other. Treatment for these headaches is similar - acetaminophnen (ibuprofen) usually works to reduce the severity of this headache. Also, Claritin works well for alergy related symptoms. For more severe tension headaches doctors have been known to use oxygen machines and a few injectable drugs that give a more immediate effect.

Migraines are usually the worst headaches. These can be quite serious and are by far the most painful. They feel like a burst blood vessel or artery as they have a pulsing feel to them. They can be so painful that they can make you sick to your stomach (nausea), cause light sensativity and even virtigo. Migraines are quite prevalent and can also indicate something more severe like a brain tumor, a weakened blood vessel, abnormal changes in blood pressure and pH, etc... Repeated patterns of migraines or other headaches should be brought to the attention of your doctor for this reason. Your body many times will tell you when something is wrong and a abnormal or irregular headache or bodyache that has become chronic is a good indication that something may be off. It may be as simple as a hormonal imbalance, new stress, etc... Regardless, your doctor knows best and it should be brought to their attention. There are over the counter products that contain pain relievers and caffeine that may work. Doctors usually prescribe beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, and other various narcotics.

Sharp, and multi-frontal headaches. These tend to be due to stress and the work environment usually. Glare from your computer monitor, strain from wearing the wrong prescription or incorrect and outdated prescription corrective lenses. I can't stress this enough. Once a year, every year, go and get a routine eye exam. Your eyes will be healthier and you will be glad you did. These headaches tend to have a very sharp, stabbing pain. They tend to occur more often in males and are shortest in duration. Usually over the counter medicines are very helpful with these headaches. For more severe forms doctors will prescribe narcotics and similar.

These are the main types of headaches and treatments for them. Many doctors have lately found mental relaxation techniques like Yoga to be quite helpful in reducing and preventing headaches. This article is for information purposes only. For correct dignosis and medical advice you should seek the appropriately trained physician as they can best test, evaluate and recommend a course of treatment for you. If you experience irregular, sharp and severe headaches that are new, get to a doctor or hospital right away as it could be an indication of or a precursor of a stroke, aneurysm, or other medical emergency.

David Maillie is an alumni of Cornell University and specializes in biochemical synthesis for public, private, and governmental interests. It outlines two highly advertised items that supposedly increase gas mileage as much as 30%. According to the EPA, FTC and numerous experts they are a complete sham. Don't buy them.

Gas Gimmicks But then high gas prices are known to fuel absurd ideas.

By Don Oldenburg

How else to explain increased sales of so-called gas-saving devices claiming to boost miles per gallon?
"Buyers really need to beware of these claims," says Chris Grundler, chief executive of the Environmental Protection Agency's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor, Mich. "We have tested over 100 of these over the last 20 or so years and have found that very few of them provide any fuel economy benefits. Those that did were marginal." The hot fuel-saving technology this year is called the "Tornado." For $69, this air-swirling gadget installs in a car's intake and, supposedly, creates a "vortex" of air that results in more efficient combustion. Its ads say tests show the Tornado increases mileage from 11 percent to almost 29 percent.
Sound too good to be true? "Nobody can believe this!" says Jay Kim, president of Tornado Air Management, in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., the manufacturer.
Kim says sales are up like never before: "A lot of consumers just love it. Tens of thousands of them."
But the government doesn't love it. The EPA has tested similar air-moving gadgets and none worked. The agency evaluated the Tornado's data and found no reason to think it can improve fuel economy, says spokesman John Millett.
Automotive expert Pat Goss, who hosts "Goss's Garage" on WJFK-FM and NewsChannel 8 and is a regular on PBS's "Motorweek," has tested more than a thousand fuel-saving devices over 25 years at his auto repair business in Seabrook, including earlier and current versions of the Tornado. The best it tested was a 0.6 mpg increase; the worst, a decrease in fuel economy.
"We get these things all the time," says Goss. "Not one of them that we ever tested did anything significant."
Kim dismisses the EPA's remarks as a "big government thing. Nothing you can do." Goss's findings? "Hmm, really?" he says.
Another device called the FuelSaver-Pro promises to save up to 27 percent in fuel economy by realigning gas molecules using magnets boxed around the fuel line. Mark Ayoub, who markets the product on FuelSaver-Pro.com, says, "Sales have increased since gas prices have recently shot up."
But the EPA in November alerted the Federal Trade Commission that the maker of the $89.95 FuelSaver-Pro was making unsubstantiated claims by mixing results from different tests to boost its mileage claims.
The manufacturer, IRD International Research & Development in San Diego, did not reply to requests for interviews, but the FuelSaver-Pro Web site just changed its promotion.

Read the following article I was sent it is scary.

Identity Theft - "It Will Never Happen to Me"

By J.C. Hurst

When a criminal wrongfully obtains and uses another individual's personal data in a manner that involves fraud the act is referred to as identity theft.

Unfortunately, just about everyone knows someone who has been a victim. A good friend of mine recently became a victim. His case, (and 16 years of law enforcement experience), prompted me to write this article.

*(If you have senior citizens in your life, PLEASE have them read this and make sure that they understand. Seniors are targeted more than anyone).

The following are actual incidents involving identity theft:

The victim - A medical doctor practicing at his successful twenty-year-old office in central Georgia.

The victim realized that several important pieces of mail that he had been expecting at his residence hadn't arrived yet. He had expected two of the items to arrive more than two weeks earlier. While attempting to telephone one of the companies whose package had not arrived, the victim received a telephone call from the sales manager at an automobile dealership located in central Alabama. The manager stated that he was calling to insure that all was well with the new automobile that the doctor had purchased several days earlier. The manager also stated that he would have contacted the doctor earlier, however, all of the telephone numbers listed on the doctor's purchase agreement were incorrect. The manager had located the victim's telephone number via the Internet. The victim had not purchased a new automobile in over eight years.

Further investigation revealed that a nineteen-year-old female from Nigeria who was legally in the United States on a student visa had stumbled across the victim's ad for his medical practice in the local Yellow Pages. After leaving his office one evening, the victim was followed home by the female subject. The next morning the subject walked into the local post office and filled out a change of address card, replacing the victim's home address with a post office box address that the female subject had purchased earlier in the week. All of the victim's personal mail would be sent to the P.O. box instead of to his residence. Within days the subject had received several items of mail addressed to the victim, including pre-approved credit card offers and other documents containing his social security number and date of birth. Within two months the subject had acquired two automobiles, a motorcycle, a house and multiple credit cards on the victim's credit. The subject was arrested and charged by the local authorities within three months of the initial criminal act, however, the victim's credit was completely destroyed.

A detective with the local police department who had befriended the victim during the investigative process stated that he telephoned the victim approximately two years after the subject had been arrested. The victim had been forced to close his medical practice and retire early due to the incident.

The victim - A regional sales manager traveling in Georgia.

The victim fell asleep in his hotel room early one evening after a day filled with meetings and conference calls. After exiting the shower at approximately 7:00AM the next morning, the victim noticed that his wallet, briefcase and laptop computer were missing from the hotel room. Further investigation revealed that the victim had not secured the dead-bolt lock on the hotel room door the night before. Someone utilized a pass card-key to enter the victim's hotel room while he was sleeping and acquired the missing items.

Before the victim could finish speaking with the local police and report the incident to his corporate office, his corporate calling card number had been sold to several subjects at the local airport. During the six-month investigative process involving the victim's case along with several others, (all of which originated at the same hotel), the victim's personal information was utilized to open several credit card accounts and to receive several high interest cash loans.

The victim - A Georgia homeowner

The victim received a telephone call one morning from a major credit card company customer service representative who worked in the theft and fraud department. He was calling to inquire about the unusually high dollar amounts that had been charged on the victim's recently opened credit card account. The victim had not opened any credit card accounts in over five years. The representative then recommended that the victim call the local police and file a police report.

The victim was informed by a police department supervisor that for three days they had received several similar complaints from the same subdivision. Further investigation revealed that a male subject posing as a door-to-door solicitor had retrieved several envelopes containing pre-approved credit card promotions from mailboxes throughout the subdivision.

(I was an arresting officer involved with the following case)

The victims - Five major Atlanta area retail outlets

A search warrant was successfully obtained for an apartment located in Dekalb County. The two male residents were suspected of fraudulently ordering and receiving merchandise via the Internet from several Atlanta area retail locations. Upon entering the residence officers observed several expensive and obviously new items of merchandise located throughout the entire home, including:

- One twelve foot tall artificial Christmas tree containing hand-blown glass ornaments valued at $3000.00 - Two forty inch projection television sets (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom) - Unopened boxes in the dining room containing several sets of crystal and china valued at $10,000.00 - Several unopened boxes located throughout the home containing computer equipment including monitors and PC towers valued at $16,000.00

Investigative efforts revealed that the two subjects had obtained a Customer Credit Listing book from another individual who was at one time an employee of a credit reporting agency. The book was the size of a telephone book and contained thousands of listings in alphabetical order of Atlanta area credit customers by full name, last known mailing address, last known level of income and even social security and date of birth information.

The subjects had highlighted certain names, (prioritized by income level), and had utilized the victim's personal information to obtain several credit cards from the retail locations. The subjects would then utilize the credit cards to order merchandise.

Five retail outlets dispatched seven large panel trucks to retrieve their merchandise from the residence.

During the preliminary hearing for one of the subjects, officers knew that the subject was a major flight risk and were not pleased with the inadequate cash bond amount that the presiding judge had placed on the subject. An officer approached the bench and placed the large Customer Credit Listing book down in front of the judge, opened it to a book-marked page and pointed to the only line of highlighted text on the page. Both subjects were denied bail by the judge and were ordered to remain in jail until their trial date.

The judges' credit information was highlighted.

Identity thieves will utilize anyone's personal information in any way imaginable in order to profit financially, including but not limited to:

- Procuring monies from the victim's established accounts - Obtaining credit cards from banks and retailers - Applying for and receiving cash loans - Financing the purchase of anything from automobiles to firearms (identity theft is a simple way for convicted felons to by-pass gun laws, including background checks and waiting periods) - Establishing accounts with utility companies - Obtaining a home loan or renting a home or apartment - Obtaining employment - Filing for bankruptcy (in the victim's name)

Methods utilized by identity thieves for obtaining a victim's personal information include but are not limited to:

- "Dumpster diving" or sifting through garbage at a victim's residence, place of business or any retail establishment, restaurant, night club, school, doctor's or dentist's office or any location where there may be copies of credit card receipts and other documentation containing personal information. - Mail theft. Pre approved credit card offers and other mail material containing personal information are too often easily obtainable by identity thieves. - The theft of proprietary data containing employee information from a company's human resource department or even a briefcase. If employee spreadsheets contain no date of birth or social security information, the names and telephone numbers are sold to telemarketing or other similar organizations for a profit. - "Shoulder surfing." Identity thieves will even resort to sitting in their automobile in a parking lot and will utilize binoculars to read a victim's PIN number at an ATM machine, or credit and/or calling card number at a payphone.

The following proactive steps will aid in the prevention of identity theft and fraud:

- Insure that new orders of personal checks are delivered to your bank, not your residence. - Mail payments containing personal checks or money orders from a secure public mailbox or the post office, not your residential mailbox. - When ordering a new or replacement credit card by mail, write down the name and the extension of the representative you speak with, as well as the expected arrival date for the card. If the card does not arrive by the expected date, telephone the representative immediately to inquire about the disposition of your credit card. - If an expected mail item does not arrive on the expected date, or you notice a sudden decrease in your normal amount of delivered mail or no mail delivery at all, inquire regarding a possible fraudulent change of address at your local post office. - Credit accounts that are not used regularly are attractive targets for identity thieves. Cancel accounts that have not been used in the last six months or longer, and destroy the credit cards. - Purchase a crosscutting shredding machine. All pre-approved credit promotion documentation, check stubs, receipts and any documentation containing personal information should be shredded before disposal. - Do not give out any personal information over the telephone. If a creditor "representative" calls and requests that you provide them with any personal information, suggest that the representative provide you with his or her telephone number and extension, and inform them that you will call them back momentarily with the information that they are requesting. If the telephone number does not match the toll free customer service number found on a monthly statement or on the back of the credit card issued to you by that creditor, call the actual customer service toll-free telephone number to inquire about the validity of the call. - Order an unlisted home telephone number, or at a minimum request that your name be listed in the local telephone directory by an initial and last name, and request that your home address be removed from your listing. - Do not participate in telemarketing promotions, and have your information removed from promotional lists. Telemarketing lists are bought and sold by companies and individuals on a daily basis. Once you have participated in a promotion over the telephone or by mail, (even if the promotion offers a free product or service), you will notice an immediate increase in the amount of promotional mail and in the number of telemarketing calls you receive. This greatly increases your risk of becoming an identity theft victim. - Do not utilize your credit card on the Internet until you have read in full the company's privacy policy, and the company's web site provides a secured page that utilizes data encryption for credit card information. Many companies inform e-commerce customers in the fine print contained in their privacy policy that by purchasing their products via their web site, you agree to accept all of the terms and agreements contained in their privacy policy. Quite often those terms include the re-distribution of your personal information to other companies and creditors. - Do not use a check or bank card on the Internet. - Closely monitor all monthly bank and credit card account statements for fraudulent withdrawals and charges. Keep monthly statements for a minimum of one year. - If your social security number is utilized as your drivers license number, have it changed. Do not have your social security number printed on personal checks. - Order a copy of your credit report at least twice annually. - Maintain one document, preferably in a fire proof security file or safe along with birth certificates, social security cards, your home inventory and other important documentation that contains the company name, account number, telephone number and the family member names on each open credit account. This will speed up the reporting process should you ever become an identity theft victim.

If you suspect that you or someone that you know has become a victim of identity theft, contact your local law enforcement agency immediately to obtain a police report. Early documentation is crucial. Send a copy of the following letter to the major credit reporting agencies:

///////////SAMPLE LETTER//////////////////

Re: (Your full legal name/no initials) Social Security No:__________________ Date of Birth:___________________
Social Security No:__________________
Date of Birth:___________________
Spouses' Name:_____________ Social Security No:_________________ Date of Birth:______________

Dear_____________,

In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and for the protection of my credit information, I respectfully request that you take the following actions immediately:

- Provide me with my current credit report. We can learn from this and accomplish greatness. It can be done.

Taking Baby Steps to Reach Your Goals and to Achieve Greatness Like Earnhardt and Trump

By David Maillie

Ask any famous person that achieved greatness what they did that was different - they would tell you they made their goals realistic and took action. The rest is history. Napoleon Hill stated "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." He used a positive mental attitude and the use of small, realistic steps to achieve greatness. He went from a poor beginning in a log cabin to one of the best selling authors and an advisor to congressmen, presidents and so on. W. Clement Stone took $100 and with this same use of creating realistic steps and taking action he built one of the largest multi million dollar insurance companies in America.
They may not have the current publicity or notoriaty of Donald Trump, Dale Earnhardt or similar, but they came from much humbler starts. Donald Trump was born into a real estate magnate family. Dale Earnhardt was born into a established race car family in Kannapolis North Carolina. Now thats not to say that Donald Trump and Dale Earnhardt are not great people (Dale Earnhardt formed one of the largest and winningest Nascar teams and was very philanthropic and helped a lot of people through his charitable activities). What I am getting at here is that most of us don't have magnates or millions in our families, but that in no wy means we cannot achieve greatness, riches beyond our wildest dreams, etc... Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone actually started with much less and in worse times and conditions than we have ever known (the great depression era).
What drove Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone to greatness was two things. (1)They planned realistic steps to reach attainable goals (baby steps). They didn't just wake up one day and say my only goal is to be rich and retire tomorrow. They made plans and kept slowly raising the bar every time they would attain one of their goals. (2)They took action. You wouldn't believe how many times I hear people state all the things they are going to do or would like to do. I recently attended a young Cornell Alumni meeting where the talk was mostly about grand future plans, or what they would like to do but they don't have time, the conditions aren't right, etc... You have to start somewhere. If you take too big of a step you will probably become defeated and not continue. It is better to take small attainable steps. Each time you attain one of these steps or your goal raise the bar a little. It will slowly move you closer to your dream and give you a great boost in self confidence. You have to plan out little baby steps and then you have to take action. This will seperate you from everyone else - the majority of people live life day to day, pay check to paycheck with little or no action or planning. You can always find these people complaining about how bad the economy is, taxes are too high, etc...
The best thing you can do is find a mentor and surround yourself with positive achievers and realize it will take a lot of effort. Lance Armstrong didn't win the Tour de France 6 times by accident and battle cancer at the same time. He was driven, set goals, and took action on a daily basis. He also realized greatness would not happen overnight. Greatness didn't come overnight for Dale Earnhardt either. He raced hard for many years, suffered crashes that would have kept most people off the track and faced fear head on. With his tanacity, fierce vigor and drive he became the greatest Nascar legend of all time. Now his son, Dale Jr., continues his racing legacy and awesome philanthropic and charitable activities. If you take the effort to take action, use baby steps to attain goals and make realistic goals you cannot and will not fail. Failure will not be a word in your vocabulary.
Now you know how to achieve greatness. Set goals for yourself. Make them realistic and take realistic baby steps to achieve them. Take action - this will seperate you from 99.9% of everyone else. They are afraid to take action and will never attain greatness. What do you think Lance Armstrong said when critics said he could not win the Tour de France, or that he could not do a repeat win of it? What do you think Dale Earnhardt said when the critics stated he could not overcome his fathers shadow in racing? They went on to become the greatest of their time. What will you do?
It is never to late to decide to take control of your life and make something great of it. Look at Sam Walton. He didn't like working with a Ben Franklin franchise and their rules. So he started his own retailing company and became the largest retailer in the world. If you make attainable goals, take action, and lay out baby steps to achieve these goals there is no way you will fail and there's no telling what you can or will achieve. Some of our greatest achievers have come from the most humbling positions. I wonder what greatness you can and will achieve.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. This dealing in tax liens is a flat out lie and illegal in most states:

Tax Lien Investing - Just Another Scam

By David Maillie

We've seen and heard about the latest investing method on TV informercials, in newspapers and everywhere. Its even said to be so easy its like taking cendy from a baby. They're talking about tax liens and you should be vary wary.
Tax liens are liens placed against ones property by local counties and similar municipalities for non-payment of assessed property taxes. According to a website I just looked at its states that every county of every state sells these late or derogatory property tax bills for immediate funds after placing a tax lien against the property in question. This did use to be true in the past, but most states don not allow the public sale of property tax liens under any circumstance. One os these states is North Carolina. You cannot legally buy or profit from these sales in North Carolina. Yet these websites state you can - they just want your money for their kit $49 or more. They will take your money and run.
Upon further review over 37 states do not allow the public sale of these tax liens. Furthermore, even if they did the homestead laws in many states would suprecede any supposed foreclosing rights and make it so you could not evict these people from their homes for non-payment. Yet their advertisements state the opposite- good in any state. 5-25% guaranteed returns on every lien and most pay within 1 year, etc... These are all lies. The rule is this - if it sounds too good to be true than it is. If tax liens were such a great business than why isn't everybody else in it? By the numbers propsed by these shows, infomercials, websites and similar and the fact that this idea has been around for over 5 years there should be many, many millionaires. Where are they?
This scam is similar to ISC (Invention Submission Corporation). They promise new inventors a patent and big royalties. Finally after thousands of coomplaints the FTC looked into many submission companies and found that most just lied, took money and didn't deliver anything. It was a pure ripoff. This is the same. Keep your money. There is no money to be made by the property tax lien scam.
David Maillie is an alumni of Cornell University and specializes in biochemical synthesis for public, private, and governmental interests. Its a perfect gift!" How often do we actually hear those words when we give a gift? Not often enough? Too right! The same goes when you receive a gift. How often do you say those words? You really want to love the nightgown that you have just unwrapped on your birthday morning, but it's hardly going to make you gush and swoon with excitement is it? So what is the perfect gift?
Naturally there is no such thing as the perfect gift. Getting it right depends on numerous factors. Not every person will be like your teenage son who hints two months in advance about the newest video game that he MUST have! We all want to be experts at giving gifts. At the very least, we want to hit the mark once in a while!
The easiest place to start is to understand the differences in the way men and women gift shop for each other. Here is a selection of interesting facts that you may not know:
1. Women give Christmas gifts to more people than do men. The average difference is 12.5 versus 8.
2. Women devote more time to selecting the appropriate gift, 2.4 hours per recipient versus 2.1 hours for male gift shoppers.
3. Women are more successful in finding desired gifts. 10 per cent of women's gifts are returned to the shop, as opposed to 16 per cent for gifts given by men.
4. Speed - men move faster down the aisle and spend less time looking.
5. Lists - in supermarkets men rely on them less and make more impulse purchases.
6. Decisions - when a man has something he wants he buys it. If a man takes an item of clothing into a changing room he is more than twice as likely to purchase it as a woman.
7. Price - most people check price tags, but men are less likely to do so than women.
8. Men also seem to take it as a point of pride that price does not worry them and they are much more likely to be persuaded to take a more expensive item.
9. When a man and a woman shop together the man almost always insists on paying.
10. According to observations in a home wares chain store - when a woman shops with another woman - average time in store eight minutes - when she shops with children - seven minutes - when she shops alone - five minutes- when she shops with a man - 4.5 minutes. Yet women insist on asking men to go out shopping with them.
Well we really are from different planets are we? Shopping for a gift should not be treated as a chore. It can be an enjoyable experience if you plan in advance. Here are a few points to consider before you hit the stores:
* Has the recipient of the gift mentioned anything in the last few weeks or months about what they want. It could be anything, not necessarily meant as a hint. You could be walking past a store with a friend when she stops and mentions how gorgeous those pair of shoes are and she wishes she could afford them. Bingo! If she still hasn't invested in them by the time her birthday comes along, then there is your perfect gift. (Only if you can afford it of course)
* What are the recipients interests? If he is a sports fan, then a couple of tickets to the next big game wouldn't go amiss. If he is a fan of a particular music band, then why not get him a personalized t-shirt with the band on it?
* Women love gifts that show commitment to a relationship. That does not mean go out and buy her a vacuum cleaner. If you are not quite ready to propose, then a nice piece of jewellery will guarantee to make her putty in your hands.
* Men like practical gifts. Women have a habit of buying for a partner what they would like to receive themselves. Little keepsakes, snow globes, teddies etc are for giving to your girlfriend on her birthday. Men will appreciate receiving a teddy bear with 'I love you' on it's little t-shirt but they really do not know what to do with it after the occasion is over. Its quite likely that poor little teddy will be relegated to the bunch of stuff gathering dust in his garage. Now if you bought him some power tools, they are certainly less romantic, but they have a use and to a man, that is more important.
* People enjoy receiving gifts that are more expensive than the giver can afford. It's strange but true. When we receive a gift from a loved one that seems or is really expensive, it makes us feel cherished. An expensive gift is on the same level as a well though out cheaper gift. So if you are unable to invest time in finding a perfect gift, then be prepared to break out the plastic.
Finding a perfect unique gift to fit people's personalities isn't always easy but there are a few free services out there dedicated to helping you find them. They do this by having thousands of gift ideas from the best merchants online all in one place. You can search the websites by category, if you already know what you want to buy, by occasion, or by recipient.
When you have made a decision on the gift you are interested in, you simply go to the merchants website to make the purchase. The advantage of using these free services is simple. Firstly, with these services not concentrating their efforts on trying to shift their own products the web surfer can have a completely unbiased opinion on the products they view. Secondly, they give access to thousands of products the web has to offer all in one place giving the customer more choice.
Although sceptics would insist that some holidays we celebrate today have been fabricated by the card and giftware companies to sell more products, we all enjoy receiving a valentine's card don't we?
And I will definitely be getting my mum something for mother's day . . . .
Have a happy Mother's day!
Alma Campbell is the director of Nayoby which provides the free gift idea service at http://www.nayoby.com

To understand what the flag draped coffin really means...... Here is how to understand the flag that laid upon it and is surrendered to so many widows...

Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776? Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times? You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we learn something new every day! The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life. The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life. The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world. The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance. The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong. The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie. It is with their heart that They pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all. The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that they protect their country and their flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of their republic. The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day. The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers. For it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded. The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first born. The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christians eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding them of their nations motto, "In God We Trust." After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy today. There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning. In the future, you'll see flags folded and now you will know why. Share this with the children you love and all others who love what is referred to, the symbol of "Liberty and Freedom"

MAYBE THE SUPREME COURT SHOULD READ THIS EXPLANATION BEFORE THEY RENDER THEIR DECISION ON THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. This story was so outlandish that it became the all time most read article in the history of the Seattle Times. According to Danny Westneat 4 of the top 20 articles were also on this same horse sex incident, "So much so, a case can be made that the articles on horse sex are the most widely read material this paper has published in its 109-year history. " Anywhere you look on the internet outrageous and sickening stories always make up the most read, emailed and downloaded articles.
Society has, as a whole, taken a very marked interest in what's different, weird, sickening, etc... There are whole blogs, forums and more dedicated to this. Millions of people are logging on and reading this somewhat questionable content. Web publishers and advertisers are catching on and using pay per click and other avenues of advertising to target keywords for popular stories like horse sex and such. According to Danny, "It's not just the horse sex. The rest of the top 20 people's-choice list is eye-opening, as well." It is well known that advertisers want marked results and news stories and websites are now being tracked for what is popular and what isn't. Websites and blogs have become virtually marketable real estate just like actual land. With one exception, instead of location, location, location its content, content, content.
Its out with the norm and in with the outlandish. This is why O.J. Simpsons famous chase had much more publicity and staying power than any presidents state of the union address. This horse sex and similar has probably by now been featured on Jerry Springer and maybe it will be on Oprah if she needs a ratings boost someday.
This obsession is not new. One only has to look in the recent past - Ed Gein whom the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was loosly based on. Charles Cullen, the male nurse whom killed 35 - 40 hospital patients in his care with deadly, unprescribed medicines. Or the sick Henry Lee Lucas, having killed more than 300 men, women and children. All of these sensational and horrible stories of evil and outrage have commanded more attention than all the wars in history. This is why shows like MTV's Jackass become huge hits and Johnie Knoxville a star big enough to play one of the Duke brothers and rumored to have been intimate with Jessica Simpson.
Society is obsessed or addicted to anything out of the norm. The more outrageous the better the ratings. Biblically speaking it sounds like we are following in the footsteps of Sodom and Gomorrah. Do you remember this story? Each of these cities had become so enthralled with wickedness that God destroyed them.
"Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah --from the LORD out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities --and also the vegetation in the land." Genesis 19:24, 25 NIV
You could dismiss this as a biblical fairytale until recently as archeologists have now found the ruined cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. And yes they were covered with ash and sulfur balls. As more and more of the bible is proven true, maybe we need to pay more attention to the recent signs that the end times mentioned in Revelations could happen in our lifetimes. We could become the next Sodom and Gomorrah if we keep lusting for the sick, perverse, deranged, etc...
David Maillie is an alumni of Cornell University and specializes in biochemical synthesis for public, private, and governmental interests. The region is associated with learning and memory, as well as anxiety and depression.
The U of S study was performed on rats. They were injected with HU-210, a synthetic "cannabinoid" similar to a group of components found in marijuana, known as THC, but about 100 times the strength. THC is the compound of marijuana that produces the 'high,' sensation in users.
Zhang found that rats treated regularly with HU-210 experienced neurogenesis—they grew new brain cells in the hippocampus area.
Zhang's team believes depression and anxiety may be caused by a lack of brain cell growth in the hippocampal region. If that is true, marijuana, or at least HU-210, could offer a treatment for both depression and anxiety disorders by stimulating the growth of new brain cells.
The reaction is unique among drugs, both legal and illegal, such as alcohol, cocaine or heroine, which actually suppress the growth of new brain cells.
"Most 'drugs of abuse' suppress neurogenesis," said Zhang. "Only marijuana
promotes neurogenesis."
But Zhang is quick to caution the findings don't mean marijuana is a miracle drug. His research has shown that using the drug comes with lots of side effects that aren't positive, such as memory impairment, addiction and withdrawal symptoms. And the version used in the tests was potent and pure. Nothing on the street would compare to it, he said.

It affects 6 out of 7 people at some point in their lifetime. It can greatly affect your self esteem and leave permanent scars. There are adds all over TV hawking everything from Proactive and other benzoyl peroxide creams and solutions to salicylic acid products like Murad and similar. They all claim to work, but do they really. The answer for most is no, or barely. We as Americans spend billions on products like these in the hopes that it will rid and/or cure this acne from our skin. Here are some very informative articles on real cures that really work and that are actually used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons (unlike the false paid testimonials in most products we see on TV).

Dermatologist Acne Treatments for a Guaranteed Flawless Complexion

By David Maillie

Lead a blemish-free life and that includes your face too. Banish the bane termed as acne forever. However, acne treatment is not a quick fix solution. Go in for an acne treatment that guarantees not only relief for the time being but also deters a relapse.
Acne is caused by accumulation of dead skin cells, overactive oil glands or an attack by the P. acnes bacteria. Acne treatment involves striking at any one-root cause or taking a multi-pronged approach. However, the best acne treatment is to be decided only by the dermatologist and it may be that the nature and severity of the acne problem, the patient’s age, lifestyle and medication routine may merit an individualized treatment.
Generally, acne treatment is categorized into three broad spectrums. The most common, however, an instant but temporary cure is by killing the bacteria that are caused by the blocked follicles. This is done either by the intake of antibiotics like tetracycline, or by treating the affected areas externally with bactericidal substances like benzoyl peroxide. As one can guess, it does nothing to control the oil secretion that is the root of all blocked follicles and henceforth, acnes, return successfully after the treatment is successfully over.
The second method is by reducing the secretion of oils from the glands. This is done by a daily intake of Vitamin A derivates like isotretinoin over a period of a few months. The drug has a much longer effect than anti-bacterial treatments and often cures acne for good. The treatment requires close medical examination by a dermatologist since the drug has many known side effects.
The third, popular, acne treatment involves exfoliating the skin. This process encourages the peeling of the top layer of skin to prevent a build-up of dead skin cells which combine with skin oil to block pores. It also helps to unblock clogged pores.
Severely sore cysts require the injection of interlesional corticosteroid, which acts by melting the cyst within 3-5 days and prevents scars. Isotretinoin is an effective acne scar treatment. It works by reducing the activity of the oil glands and is widely regarded as the most effective drug to fight cystic acne. However, this pill has serious side-effects on liver and the nervous system and as such should not be used during pregnancy.
Oral contraceptives like norgestimate, ethynodiol and norethindrone acetate work against acne by decreasing the activity of the oil glands.
For people sensitive to some acne drugs, sodium sulfacetamide is an effective alternative treatment.
Laser therapy, which scrapes away the top layer of the skin, thereby removing the dead cells, is an effective acne treatment with enduring effects. This peeling of the skin is also achieved by the increasingly popular TCA peels. Easy to use, these peels reach deep into the skin coming up with results that last up to a year. Not only do they remove the acne, but also prevent its recurrence. They are now available for home use (see the link below). TCA peels are the most cost effective acne treatment and should be a part of any acne or skin care regimen.
The acne treatment may sound easy but you should never indulge in self-medication. Some acne drugs are quite powerful and any misuse may trigger irreversible side effects. Nor should acne be treated by pricking the pimples. This causes scarring that even an extensive acne scar treatment cannot reverse. Catch them young is the motto of every dermatologist treating acne. So do not neglect even the tiniest blackhead.
Acne treatment is safe as long as you are in the right hands.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. They make everyone look older as the skin loses its elasticity and starts to sag. Frowning and facial expressions over time can also result in the same loss of elasticity. There are thousands of various products we see hawked on TV by leading actresses and assorted hollywood stars from Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Anniston, etc... We even see them on Oprah as some of her recent Oprah's favorite things giveaways. The problem is that 99.9% of them do not work at all or minimally at best! We asked thousands of dermatologists and surgeons what the best remedies were other than plastic surgery. The answer was unanimous - a routine of TCA skin peels, mild cleansers - no harsh soaps, stay out of the sun, use sunscreen, and take vitamin E and fish oil pills. Not one of them mentioned any of the thousands of products we see on TV and in magazines that claim to cure or ease these fine lines and wrinkles.
TCA stands for trichloroacetic acid. TCA peels have long been used in doctors offices and medispas for treatment of many skin problems like sun damage, liver spots, acne, acne scarring, wrinkles, fine lines, freckles, pregnancy mask, etc... TCA peels are not cheap, but they are the most effective product or treatment available for fine line and wrinkles. They increase your skins rate of repair and they also increase collagen production. They are the most prescribed chemical peel and are, hands down, the most effective treatment for fine lines and wrinkles - and also acne! They can now be purchased for home use.
Mild cleansers are inportant as they will clean, but not overdry or aggravate your face. Cetaphil and the Target generic brand are great. They will gently emulsify dirt and oil and remove it with out overdrying your face. Products with benzoyl peroxide, like Proactive, should be avoided as they will overdry and aggravate oily skin and acne. Harsh soaps will have the same effect as benzoyl peroxide products.
The sun is your enemy. It will age your skin and does result in wrinkles and other skin problems like melanoma - the worst type of skin cancer. Use sunscreens with high SPF's like 30 - 40. You need to cover up when going out in the sun. And I can't stress it enough wear sunscreen - If youdon't think you will get cancer from being out in the sun, goto your local hospital oncology department. Most of those people didn't think they could get it either.
Vitamin E and fish oil pills will increase the hydration of your skin. They will increase the elasticity of your skin and reduce wrinkles and fine lines. It can take a few months to see the results and they won't be as dramatic as with the TCA peels mentioned earlier, but they have been clinically proven to be effective.
There you have it - how to treat and cure fine line and wrinkles from real dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Real treatments that really work. For more information on TCA peels please see the link below.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. He is an alumni of Cornell University and specializes in biochemical synthesis for public, private, and governmental skin care interests. He can be reached at http://www.bestskinpeel.com.

The Hottest Anti-Aging Skin Care Treatment Used by Dermatologists - TCA Skin Peels

By David Maillie

Aging skin is something we all either have or will have. Its a fact of life. The skin starts to lose its elasticity, sun damage takes a toll, wrinkles and lines develop. Cuts and scratches don't heal as fast and scar easily. The skin is dry and can even become brittle. It literally thins out.
This is because we have not cared for it. I heard on the radio today that 90% of Americans know more about their car engine and take better care of their car then themself. We take our cars for oil changes every 3-4,000 miles, rotate tires, buy better gas and use gas additives, high tech waxes, etc... Then we eat junk, fatty foods, don't drink enough water, don't eat regular balanced meals, forget our vitamins, etc... It's no wonder that Our skin ages amongst other things. We have the careless attitude that if it isn't broke don't fix it. We procrastinate with our bodies until they start to fail.
What we don't realize is that our skin is an organ just like our heart, lungs, etc... the skin takes in oxygen, vitamin D, protects against bacteria, accidents, etc... In the old days people were tarred and feathered as punishment. This tarring sealed the skin and if the affected individual didn't have the tar removed in a few hours they would die - why? Because their skin couldn't breathe and they overheated and died. So the skin helps us regulate our body temperature like a radiator.
Well, just like a radiator, we must care for our skin to get optimum protection and use from it. We must hydrate ourselves properly. Thats not just having a little water here and there. 90% of all Americans are improperly hydrated. An easy way to tell is to pinch and pull the skin between the thumb and forefinger. Does it go right back and feel supple or does it hold , feel dry, and very slowly go back (improper hydration). It is now known that we must drink 8-12 glasses of water a day and abstain from too much alcohol as it will further dry us out.
We must take multivitamins and eat proper, well balanced meals for healthy skin. The skin, just like finger nails is a early warning system. Problems with your skin and fingernails can foreshadow or warn of future or iminent problems and diseases, many of which can be avoided. There are whole books on this inate ability to hint of heart ailments, blood ailmaents, etc... We must eat right, hydrate right and take proper vitamins to keep our skin from aging. It is highly recommended to eat plenty of antioxidants to ward off the aging process. Eat blue berries, black berries, and have a glass of red wine daily. They are rich with antioxidants. Also omega 3 fatty acids and fish oils have been proven to retard skin aging (they have also been proven to increase brain function over 50% in all areas - ever had deep strange dreams after eating salmon? Salmon is very rich in omega 3's)
We can also help our skin along. Skin peels have been proven to increase our skins ability to regenerate, create higher levels of collagen, and increase hydration and pliability in our skin. They can basically reverse a lot of the effects of the aging process. Of these skin peels glycolic, lactic, salicylic and the 'fruit' peels are minor and will help, but need to be reapplied more often and will not help with deep wrinkles, lines, age spots, etc... The number one treatment plastic surgeons and dermatologists use to reverse the aging process outside of a face lift is the TCA peel. Tca peels are a medium strength peel and have been proven to efectively treat more skin problems than any other treatment. It is also the safest, easiest to apply, and, by far, the most effective of all the skin peels. TCA peels can turn back the clock 10 years or more. TCA peels can treat and cure acne, wrinkles, lines, scars, etc... The results last up to 1 year so you only need to have it done once or twice a year. And the best part is they are now available for home use.
So, to keep your skin younger and healthier, drink plenty of water, eat right, take omega 3 supplements (fish oil pills are great for this as is salmon) and use proven science (TCA peels) to better care for your skin. Copper peptide creams (around $60) do show an increase in the skins ability to heal itself, but so does Neosporin for $3. In double blind tests there was no difference between the two in healingand scar repair. Remember your skin does a lot and is very important so take good care of it. These bumps and patches are formed by overactive sebacious glands (usually due to hormonal imbalances), high skin pH, oil, and basteria that thrive in these conditions. This acne can be worsened by summer heat, improper cleaning, itching and picking at the bumps (they are not pimples and will only get worse when picked at), pH imbalance, bad nutrition, etc...
By changing our habits we can improve this condition. Using mild soaps and cleansers will prove less irritating. Eating a well balanced diet will average out the condition and slowly improve it. And we all know not to pick at acne postules and bumps, but to stop it and possibly cure it we have to get to the source deep in the skin.
Surface treatments like benzoyl peroxide creams and solutions are at best minimally effective and can further irritate the condition. We need to get several layers down to the source, the bacteria, inflamation, and the sebacious glands where acne forms.
Plastic surgeons know that glycolic and salicylic peels are better than hydrogen peroxide treatments, but they will not reach the source. This is where plastic surceons and doctors use TCA peels (trichloroacetic acid) which is a deeper peel to reach the source, change the skin pH (which kills off the bacteria - they cannot survive in high acidity conditions), and increase skin regeneration by sloughing off several layers. TCA peels have been clinically prove to treat and cure acne better than any other treatment (including lasers and Accutane) without any of the horrible side effects).
TCA peels used to be something only the wealthy could afford, but not anymore. You can still go to your doctor and pay $500+ or you can do it yourself. TCA peels are the easiest, safest, and most effective of all the skin peels and are now easily available. For more details about TCA peels contact the author below or look it up on the internet. Get a TCA peel and start enjoying cleaner, more youthful skin and stop wasting your money on products that don't work.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. The global beauty industry already makes billions of dollars every year as women everywhere embark on quests to preserve (or achieve) a youthful, glowing appearance. Responding to this need, dermatologists, and other specialists continue to look for the best and safest possible treatments and formulations to combat skin ailments, the most common of which is acne.
Apart from the services offered at skin clinics, many creams, gels and ointments that claim to treat acne, diminish sun or age spots and enhance skin elasticity are widely available in the market. There are scrubs, cleansers, masks, over-the-counter skin medicine and skin peel formulations, all offered at various price ranges. Most can be bought at department stores or drugstores, but the fact is that very few of these so- called “miracle” products actually work. And the latest medical research has shown that what does work as a proven treatment for acne, are skin peels. Plastic surgeon Dr. Keith Leiberman explains: “Unlike other techniques, TCA skin peels get to the root of the problem with acne, resulting in tremendously effective results - leaving the patient with noticeably fresher, smoother skin and great texture…without the acne! ”
The TCA peel, or trichloroacetic acid skin peel, is recommended by many doctors and skin specialists as it is a medium-strength treatment that is among the safest, most effective, as well as easiest to use. It sloughs off layers of dull dead skin that may cover up the source of acne. It also enhances the blood flow and circulation in the skin, promoting skin cell rejuvenation and the build up of skin-strengthening collagen and elastin.
Conventional skin peel treatments that involve suction-type dermabrasion can cause further damage, as it can bruise the skin and break some small blood vessels. Those who wish to treat their acne and other skin problems with TCA can control the strength of the treatment by starting off with a weak solution and gradually working their way up to more concentrated mixtures as needed.
TCA can be mixed with other previously prepared creams such as Obagi or applied directly. It is important to remember that TCA skin peels should not exceed more than 20 minutes on one’s skin. The time limit generally depends on the strength or concentration of the mixture and the type of skin. Because of the chemical content, doctors recommend applying a neutralizer, such as a simple mixture of baking soda and water, to calm and stabilize the skin after the TCA peel is applied. Users should wait about six months before applying another treatment.
TCA peels are great for treating acne and less expensive than clinic or spa-based treatments. Websites such as www.bestskinpeel.com offer this effective product at a fraction of the price one would normally pay per session or treatment at salons and spas. The set offered by this particular website is priced at under $30.00 and includes one ounce of medical-grade 50%-concentrate TCA skin peel (good enough for about 30 treatments) as easy-to-follow instructions by a licensed practitioner. Why pay hundreds of dollars when you can do this treatment at home? Apart from the 50%-concentrate, many suppliers also offer as low as an 8%-concentrate TCA skin peel for users with more sensitive skin.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. Acne primarily affects teens and adolescents and can cause long lasting physical and emotional scars. For years we have either learned to deal with our acne, or spent thousands of dollars with dermatologists or on useless as seen on tv products we have seen (like Proactive). Currently there are two treatments that do work and one is actually cost effective. It is now a fact that acne can be treated, controlled and even cured.
We must become more educated on what acne is and whqat does and does not cause it. Acne is an inflammation of the skin that is caused by overproduction of sebum (oil) from our sbaceous glands and a low skin pH (acidity) that make ideal conditions for bacteria. This bacteria clogs the pores and causes pimples and deeper inflammed bumps and postules (acne). Acne is genetic as it is first started by the overproduction of oil and acidity levels. Chocolate and sugary items don't cause it.
Accutane (can only be prescribed) works by greatly reducing the production of sebum. This reduction in sebum will make the skin very dry and does have some bad side effects like possible liver damage and such so it is available only through your dermatologist and is used as a drastic or last measure. Basically it brings out all the acne you will have in the next 2-3 years all at once over the first 2 months and then it is all gone. The first 2 months are rough, however - I had this treatment.
TCA peels are a more affordable and less drastic alternative. TCA peels work by cleansing the skin, increasing the pH or acidity of the skin making it unfavorable for bacteris, and increasing the rate of skin regeneration thus hastening the healing process. TCA Peels work 1,000 times better than any overrated peroxide wash or cleansing system and have similar results to Accutane without any of the harsh side effects. They have been rated as one of the best at home products / treatments available. This has been proven on millions of patients - why else would every dermatologist and plastic surgeon offer TCA peels?
So, basically, you can either live with the scurge of acne or treat it. TCA peels are the most cost effective and least harmful solution to acne and can now be purchased directly instead of through your doctor for tremendous savings.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. We hear about it every day on TV and the radio in ads for Proactive and Murad. Stars like Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, Puff Daddy, Eminem, and even Paris Hilton all pitch various products and treatments for oily skin. Most of these products are nothing more than a mild benzoyl peroxide or salicylic (less than 2%) cleanser. The reality is that when we questioned real dermatologists none recommended these products. Their actual recommendations were:
1) skin peels and laser treatments.
2) tetracycline
3) Accutane - in severe acne cases only.
4) Doxycycline
5) Cetaphil - Every dermatologist said this was a great face wash.
You have to remember Paris Hilton, Eminem, and Jessica Simpson are all paid endorsers. Read the fine print. Not one of them guarantees or stands behind the product. To properly treat oily skin and the acne it can and usually does cause, you have to get to the source.
Benzoyl peroxide will only affect the surface and irritate it. Salicylic acid is a weaker acid and must be used in much stronger strengths to be effective - lees than 10% just won't cut it. What really works is treating the bacteria that are rampant in oily skin. This is what causes acne. A trichloroacetic acid (TCA peel) skin peel is the most effective external treatment and now the most cost effective as it is currently available to consumers for in home use. A TCA peel will alter the skin pH (acidity levels) and make the conditions unfavorable for the bacteria. TCA peels will also get rid of excess oil, increase exfolliation, collagen production, and new skin production - all helpful with oily skin. TCA peels are also very effective on acne scars - an added plus. And the best thing is there are no side effects.
Tetracycline is available by prescription only. It will kill the bacteria, but only for as long as you keep taking it. It will not affect the oilyness and is not effective against mild to severe acne. It also has side effects like yellow teeth. Their are similar antibiotics like doxycycline that have basically the same results.
Accutane is a very drastic prescription only medication. The side effects can be quite severe and are common. Blood tests must be done on a weekly or monthly basis. Accutane will cease the production of oil by stopping the functionality of the sebaceous glands. Usually this was reserved for mild to severe acne patients. The complications are so severe there have been numerous class action lawsuits (just watch TV or look up Sokolove the attorneys office on the internet).
Lasers have been used in a limited capacity as they are still too expensive and are mostly effective on thee resultant scarring from the acne, not on the oilyness and excess sebum production.
So, straight from real non-paid dermatologists all over the country, one can conclude that the most effective treatment with the least cost is TCA peels. And they are now available for home use. Now you know how to permanently cure oily skin, treat acne, and have beautiful skin from a real dermatologists perspective. Don't be misled by a highly compensated endorser like Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Eminem, Puff Daddy, etc...
For more information on TCA peels contact www.bestskinpeel.com
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. The condition generally begins in the teenage years, but can affect people into their thirties and forties. Blemishes often cause people to avoid social situations and, in extreme cases, can lead to feelings of depression.
The exact cause of acne is not known, but there are several theories. One is that break outs tend to be hereditary. If parents and siblings suffer from it, you may too. Another is that the hormones that surge through the body in puberty cause the sebaceous glands to increase in size and produce more oils. This leads to an increase in blemishes. Other hormonal causes include pregnancy, menstruation and birth control pills.
Although the exact cause of this skin condition is unknown, there are factors that can aggravate it. Squeezing a blemish can spread bacteria and cause more break outs on your face. Excessive humidity and sweating can also spread bacteria and aggravate the condition.
There are several myths surrounding acne. Stress is thought to cause acne, but it does not. However, the stress you feel as a result of the pimples is real. Consider relaxation techniques, reading the bible and prayer as a way to reduce this stress. Other myths include diet and having dirty skin.
Proper skin care can help prevent the spread of acne. Improper skin care can actually make blemishes worse. Excessive scrubbing with harsh cleansers is drying, causes irritations and can create more pimples. Use a gentle cleanser no more than twice a day, if your skin is excessively oily, you can wash three times. Look for a gentle cleanser that is made for your skin type. Salicylic acid is a good ingredient to look for.
Don’t use astringent unless you have very oily skin. Astringents can dry out the skin and make it worse. You may be tempted to skip the moisturizer, but don’t do this. Your skin needs moisture. Choose a product that is made for people who are prone to pimples. Look for an oil free, non acnegenic lotion.
Dermatologists can help with acne treatment. Topical ointments and oral medications can be prescribed for extreme cases. Many of these prescriptions can cause photosensitivity. You should always wear a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30, if you go in the sun while using prescription medications. For maximum rejuvenation, your doctor may recommend a chemical peel.
In the past, you could only have a peel in the dermatologist’s office. Now there is a home treatment alternative. Esthetician’s Choice is a medical grade peel that you can use in the comfort of your home. The main ingredient is Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) which is considered to be the most effective skin peel product on the market. TCA is a non toxic chemical that has been used by dermatologists for over 30 years to treat acne and other skin conditions.
Peels exfoliate the skin on a deeper level than can be achieved with most other skin care products. Easy to follow, step by step directions allow you to perform the peel easily at home. Esthetician’s Choice takes only minutes to apply. You may experience a slight reddening for a day or tow and the skin will continue to peel, revealing clearer skin underneath.
You will notice results quickly, unlike topical ointments and medications, which can take months to see results. Use the peel full strength for a deeper peel, or you can dilute it for surface exfoliation. Visit www.bestskinpeel.com to learn more about this remarkable product, which is guaranteed to give you the results you want.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. Here are some great articles on this. There is also a great article on makeup with great tips:

Best Hairstyle Fashions and Beauty Trends for 2006

By David Maillie

Hairstyle and beauty has become quite a fashion statement lately. We have seen prices for a good cut or style skyrocket with no end in sight. Some cuts are going in and out of style every day it seems. As some beauty experts say - your hair can make you or break you. What will be the hot styles and beauty cuts for 2006? Some of these will surprise you.
1) The classic up-do. It has been one of the longest trends but seems to be a temporary style - something to do for a social party or event, but not every day. The hollywood stars like Jessica Simpson and many others sport the updo for Awards banquets and such, but they have personal hair stylists that can have their hair back in whatever style they want the following day. This style is best suited for medium or longer length hair.
2) Hair stenciling for uniqueness - this has been hot overseas in Japan, Milan, Paris, and London and is starting to make its way into the U.S. This is where you or a stylist create a stencil which you then attach to your hair and you use glitter and paint to make a bold, brazen fashion statement. Everything from animal prints (like tiger stripes) to symbols have been used. This works on any length hair, but is more predominantly displayed on shorter hair. Stencils have been used frequently lately on Runway models in shows by Gucci, Calvin Klein, etc...
3) The wedge. This was popular in the 1970's and is once again becoming popular. This was the cutesy do that made the likes of Dorothy Hammil America's sweetheart of that era. This style is gaining popularity amongst 30-40 year olds in search of a short and easily maintained style. The wedge tends to draw attention to your face, not your hair and looks natural. So, if you already have a beautiful face and skin this is a real winner, as it will draw people in to your good looks. We recommend natural, mild makeup with this do.
4) The mullet. Yes, I know we thought it died off in the early 90's, but it is making a surge again. No one knows why, except that is is a very low maintanence style - or basically no style. It is basically a mop of hair for head banging music. "Business in the front and party in the back." It has been popping up all over the south and has been seen on the rise even in New York, Chicago, etc... This is a bad style that just won't go away.
5) The Fullet. The female version of the mullet. Just as bad if not worse, but, once again it is making a comeback. Maybe that means the Bangles will make a comeback also? Heavy makeup is common with this do.
6) The flip. The style from the roaring 20's is back as can be seen at the recent awards shows. This style has always been equated with glitz and glamour. It is another easy style and is easy to maintain. The flip goes with almost any makeup regimen. All the stars have worn this do at one time or another - from Jodie Foster to Rita Garbo.
Most of the hairstyles trends for 2006 are comebacks and are easy dos. Basically, people want something that is easy to manage and want variety - a cut that can be easily transformed from one style to another for different events or just for that different look. Women also want a style with easy, light makeup. According to numerous fashion sources these hairstyle and light makeup trends trends will be the big styles of 2006.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. One day, the latest hairstyle trend may be long flowing tresses while, the very next day, the bald look may be back in vogue. The 2006 hairstyle trend emphasizes a no-frills, chic look. And as always, the 2006 hairstyle trend is heavily inspired by celebrity hair style that are currently the rage.
The 2006 hairstyle trend predicts the short hair style or the pixie look and the formal hairdo will rule the roost. The short hair style looks adorable and is easy to manage. The formal hair style looks dignified and can be anything from a simple knot, ponytail or plait to the hair worn loose.
The variations are aplenty whether you choose a short hair style or a long hair style and it is always worthwhile to take the opinion of friends and acquaintances and of course, the hair stylist.
Celebrity hair style had been the most significant determinant of the 2006 hairstyle trend. You have David Beckham from the sporting fraternity and movie bigwigs like Kate Winslet and Tom Cruise, who have been elevated to the status of style icons of our age. Thus whatever be the celebrity hair style, it becomes a trend.
This year at the Golden Globe Awards, the rage was Hilary Swank’s “million dollar” slick pony tailed hairdo and Cate Blanchett’s fragile, touch-me-not look with mid-length curls. Kate Winslet looked a stunner at the 11th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, with her hair pulled back in a bun and soft curls framing her face. The 2006 hairstyle trend will continue to be set at the Oscars too.
Hair style trend may come. Hair style trend may go. But some hair style trend stays on forever. And they are the classics. One such hair style is the Versatile Cut, which is a layered cut with short hair underneath and longer hair above and looks great both gelled and free flowing.
Another timeless hair style trend is the Dimensional Shag - a versatile cut with fringes and sides lends to both long and short locks. The look can be made more alluring with a dash of color on the top or underneath and around the face.
The 2006 hairstyle trend incorporates such classic hair styles as well. However, it is foolhardy to be a weathervane and follow every trend. At the end of the day, what matters most is how well the new hair style trend flatters you.
So if you have a round face and a stocky neck, steer clear of Cate Blanchett’s hairstyle. Instead, pull your hair back and up off your neck. A large face looks thinner with bouncy or wavy locks.
Following the latest hairstyle trend is fine as long as you don’t look like having a bad hair day. If the choices don’t suit you, feel free to experiment and who knows, even you might end up setting a 2006 hairstyle trend.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. We can see the latest fashions and hairstyles for men by watching the academy awards and the Oscars. We can also see the latest in these hairstyles on the reality shows like Blowout and Real World. As shown on Blowout, a great hairstyle can make a average person or even a ugly duckling a knockout. Jonathon does this on every episode of Blowout. Here are the great hairstyles for 2006 that are guaranteed to make you look better or at least make a statement.
Short, styled, messy with highlights. Ryan Seacrest started this do. It is an easy to maintain look and had its starts with alternative rock bands whom have taken it to more extremes (spikes, different colors, etc...) This is a very easy hairstyle to manage. Just use hair spray, mousse whatever and twist a little here and pull a little there. Some women are also using this for short styles. This easy, messy do is here to stay.
The short business cut. This has always been in. Everyone from George Bush and Jeff Gordon to Jay Leno sport this one. It can be parted to either side, brushed back or down. There are many variations. Sometimes it even looks like a bowl cut - popularized in the days of Leave it to Beaver, the Beverly Hill Billies, Green Acres and other shows that highlighted inbreeding in society.
The mullet. This big hair style of the 80's is actually making a comeback. Wrestlers, country singers, even wanna-be stars like Kevin Federline have been seen wearing mullets. The mullet originated with car salesmen in the 1970's. It was a fun, easy do that was business in the front and party in the back. They could tie it in a pony tail and keep it under wraps at work and then let it out for partying. There are many variations even including the rat tail (hopefully this won't come back). There isn't much care needed for a mullet. What would George Bush, Dr. Phil, Ryan Seacrest, or even Simon Cowell look like with a mullet? I bet ratings for American Idol would double.
The medium-long cut. Basically this is where the hair is about 3-4 inches long across the top and shortened as it comes don the back to about 1-2 inches. One just puts moose or gel in it and works it in and then comes their hair back with their fingers. This is a cut primarily for those with wavy hair as it will show off and glamorize your curls. This is a star favorite - Antonio Banderas and Tom Cruise have sported this do several times throughout their careers.
Chrome dome. Going for that shiny top, bald look. It works for muscular or dominant people. Just look at Jesse Ventura, Michael Jordan, and UFC president Dana White. It used to be only worn by those going bald, but its popularity has grown to include kids, grandparents, even women looking to make a statement. There have even been people renting out ad space on their newly shaved head for quick cash. It is also a great place to try out a tattoo. If you find you don't like the tattoo, just let your hair grow back.
There you have it. The popular mens hairstyles of this year and numerous variants.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. If Mother Nature happened to be harsh on you concerning looks, you can score over her with some easy to practice makeup tips. It is guaranteed that these makeup tips will turn even a plain Jane into a woman of rare and exquisite beauty.
There are makeup tips for every beauty problem. With makeup, you can draw attention to your most beautiful feature or downplay a not particularly appealing one or even hide a scar or blemish.
Every makeup tip is unanimous on one point and that is a good skin foundation. It is essential for that “oh-so-glamorous” porcelain smooth look. A foundation also gives protection to the delicate facial skin from harmful weather forces and pollution. In conjunction with a moisturizer, it prevents the skin from ageing.
The key to sparkling eyes, as every eye makeup tip will swear by, is light colored eye shadows like brown, mauve, vanilla or beige. You can play in the subtle undertones of the skin and opt for colors like gold, olive, pale purple and gray.
The adventurous at heart can try out bronze, tan or any other shinning translucent eye shadow powder or go in for a layered look by combining two colors. Experimentation is all right, but every make up tip profess one thing, “don’t go overboard”.
Mascara is another aspect of eye makeup. In fact, there is nothing like a dash of mascara to dramatize the eyes. For a no makeup look, a brown shade or clear mascara is the best. For a wide-eyed innocent gaze, try curling your eyelashes. But curl before applying the mascara and do not curl your lower lashes for they are apt to fall off.
A makeup tip is not meant only for highlighting a facial feature. Makeup can be used as a cover for problematic zones too.
You can make your concealer or foundation stay all day by dusting it with some translucent powder and its good riddance to bad rubbish like pimples, scars and dark circles. For the real obstinate acne, just a dab of concealer, that is one shade lighter than the foundation, bordering on the green or yellow tone is ideal.
For a large nose, light colored shoulder-length voluminous hair is the ideal mask.
There also happens to be a makeup application tip that will help those unhappy with the spacing between their eyes. A medium neutral eye shadow on the inner eyelids with a thick eyeliner stroke bordering the entire length of the eyes will make the eyes appear closer.
For eyes that are too close for comfort, a good beauty makeup tip is to apply a darker tone in matte finish in upward and outward strokes on both the lids and end in a thick flourishing curve.
The essence of all makeup tips is to make you, and not the makeup, stand out in a crowd.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. Collection agencies harrassing you? Don't fret anymore! Here's are several helpful articles on how to beat the collection agencies and debt collectors at their own game - read them - they really do work! As always, your comments and tips are much appreciated. Just like wikipedia, we only improve with your input.:

Get Out of Debt Free Article

By David Maillie

This is the age of debt - more people are in debt than ever. Living paycheck to paycheck is now seen as a fact of life. Society teaches us debt is good - every time you go through the cashier at Target stores you are asked if you would like a 10% discount to get their store card. Most major department stores do this as they know you will buy more and then make minimum monthly payments so their 20-40% profit margin gets another 15-20% or more of interest per year. Rarely does one buy a car with cash nowadays. Its amazing how everyone wants to be seen in a nice new Mercedes or similar and we think they are rich, but are they really? 99% of car buyers don't own their vehicle, the bank does. Some even finance the wheels on their cars. The message to spend is quite obvious. Now, more than ever, with the potential for gas prices to multiply, energy costs to continue rising, an unstable economy, no job guarantees regardless of your profession, etc... we need to reconsider our spending habits and stop spending money that isn't ours (let the government do this - just look at our ever increasing national debt). We can stop this downward spiral into more and more debt.
Debt can add unneeded stress and even ruin a marriage. First thing to do is to gain control of the situation. Become determined that we will stop living beyond our means. Many of us do this to impress others. Why? They don't care. People that are impressed solely by material things are shallow and don't make good dependable or trustworthy friends. Become committed to paying off all your debt. Stop incurring debt. Don't buy anything you can't afford. Debt should only be for emergencies (acceptable debt - a mortgage. Home ownership is good debt because it increases in value. A mercedes is bad debt as it decreases in value greatly the moment you drive it off the dealers lot. Contrary to what a salesperson says, a new car is a horrible investment. Buy a used car and shop around. The best deals can actually be found on Ebay - I bought 2 cars through Ebay and both were cream puffs and way below what a dealer could get them for. Plus no bogus processing fees (aka additional dealer profit).
Take your credit and store cards. Cut up all store cards. They are completely unnecessary. Then cut up all credit cards but 1 - keep the one with the lowest rate, fee, etc... (best deal). This one will be for emergencies. Make out a payment plan to pay off the others. If you are in over your head (over 25% of income goes to paying credit cards or other unnecessary extravagances) then contact a not-for-profit debt counseling service. Make sure they are not-for-profit or you will get ripped off as the for-profits can't do anything different and charge you for the same. The best services can be found by contacting your local Better Business Bureau and asking for a referral to a not-for-profit debt counseling service. They will negotiate your debt, interest, payments, etc... with your creditors solely in your favor and make a debt free plan for you. Stick to this plan and then you will soon realize the wonderful relief and feeling brought by debt freedom.
As your debt goes away, your credit score will rise, new debt will become less expensive - so don't get sucked back in - refuse the temptation of 0 down and 0 interest on a new car or similar. Only buy a car if you must and buy what you need, not what would impress your neighbors. Case in point - wouldn't you rather have the comfort of knowing you could live comfortably for 4-6 years without having to scramble to find a job if you should, unfortunately, find yourself unemployed? Or would you rather have a new Mercedes or BMW every 2-3 years through leasing and have zero safety cushion? Next time you hear the salesman tell you their car is an investment ask him if he will make your payments if you lose your job. Not such a great investment after all. For the same price of that Mercedes you can buy a $100-$150K home, fix it up a little (repaint and such for around $2000), rent it out and make $50,000 back on your investment in the first year. Hint, hint - get into real estate. It is the single best investment you can ever, ever make.
There you have it. How to get out of debt free. I would also highly recommend these 2 books: The Armchair Millionaire, and The Millionaire Next Door. Good luck and I hope you take the path of zero debt and a better quality of life. Being debt free is one of the best feelings you can have. Please pass this article on to everyone you know as you will help more people than any donation could - take a moment to help someone as I have done for you. Its the right thing to do.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. They take advantage of every loophole possible and even break the law. They have been featured on almost every news program from CNN to 60 Minutes. There are laws in place to contain their harassment and collection efforts and to make this process more civil, but most figure the risk of getting caught is minimal and that the rewards of endlessly harassing and fleecing victims is far greater. We now have the power to take back our lives, stop them in their tracks and sue them for more than they are trying to collect.
First, lets start with what is actually owed and how most collection agencies work. Usually a unpaid debt is either sold or turned over to a collection agency. 95% or more of these debts are credit cards, store cards, gas cards, etc... These debts are then tiered according to age of debt, amount, credit, job history, etc... Generally most debts are bought for pennies on the dollar. Recent debt may go for $.15 to $.25 on the dollar whereas old debt that has had numerous collection attempts goes for $.05 or less and debt that is beyond the statues of limitations for the state the debtor resides in goes for less than $.01. So, for instance if you owed $10000.00 on a credit card, the debt collection agency paid at most $2500.00, but probably paid less than $1500 for it. Now, what's interesting is that they will call and write you stating that you now owe $14000.00 or so stating that it has accrued interest and various questionable fees. This is all profit if you were dumb enough to pay that. A fair settlement would be $1700.00 or less. So, the point here is that you don't ever owe what they are trying to collect from you - it is always far, far less.
Secondly, lets give you some more ammunition - The 1977 FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) gives you rights the debt collectors won't tell you about. If you don't want to hear from them again, its easy. Just write them a letter stating that you wish they cease all contact with you (make sure you put in the letter that - P.S. This letter is in no way an acknowledgement of the above listed debt(s) - that way they cannot even attempt to try and re-age your debt (add another 7years of collection and reporting to further harass). Send the letter registered return receipt requested mail and keep your proof of receipt. If they contact you after this for any reason other than to tell you they are either dropping the issue or taking it to court (99.99% won't go to court as it costs them more money and their odds of getting anything are almost zero - even with a judgement) then you can sue them for each occurrence for $1,000. People win these suits every day - most settle out of court for a lot more than the original debt (just look this up on the internet under small claims court). You also have the right to question the debt and have the debt collector provide proof. Many debt collection agencies are being sued by many debtors for their failure to provide proof. Just look up Asset Acceptance on the internet - they are one of the biggest abusers of this federal law with thousands of outstanding lawsuits for harassing debt collection practices.
So, now you know how to stop debt collection agencies in their tracks. You know how to get relief - sue them! If enough people sue them things will change. Also use your state and local resources. State Attorney generals go after debt collection agencies that routinely break the law, Consumer protection agencies (the Better Business Bureau, etc...), the Federal Trade Commission goes after the worst abusers, and, of course, your state department of insurance and finance (whom actually licenses these agencies rto operate in your state). You state department of finance and insurance, or similar, has the power to fine, punish and even banish the debt collection agency from your state. Every state requires a debt collection agency to be licensed and put up a large financial bond (around $50,000) to operate in your state. Call these folks if you are having problems with a debt collection agency - they will get immediate results in your favor. Don't threaten the collection agency that you have these rights - use them. Bring the collection agency to its knees if they are violating your rights.
The other problem is are these bills, debts even correct? Many hospitals, doctors, etc... have no ethics and will purposely double or even triple bill patients without insurance because they know they can get away with it. If you have a question about your bill demand a itemized bill and have this professionally examined. This will reveal things like overcharging ($100 tissue boxes, 1000 percent markup on medicines, etc...) We entrust these hospitals and doctors with our lives and then they screw us by double billing or worse. Right now there is no government policing on hospitals. Many times a debt collector will actually make up a debt or illegally pass one on to you from someone else (Asset Acceptance has been sued for this many times). Do not assume that you owe any debt and take them to task. If you do owe it, pay it, but pay the least amount possible, and pay it on your terms. If they break the law - make them pay!
If you have a problem with a bill make it known to your state politicians. If enough people do this things will change. Write to your local newspaper, tell a friend, do a press release. Tell others of their rights. Cigarette boxes come with warnings - shouldn't debt collectors and debt collection agencies with their high propensity to skirt the law also come with mandatory warnings? The more the word gets out, the better the odds something will be done about it.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. It was unbelievable - hospitals were trying to collect on 20 - 30 year old debts for dead people by obtaining leans and using corrupt lawyers, politicians, and lobbyists to make it so they can basically get away with theft from our uninsured and under-insured - which is now over 50% of americans.
Hospitals were aggressively using body attachments where they basically have someone arrested for an overdue bill. This is the most aggressive form of collection tactics and harassment. Most collection agencies refuse to resort to these tactics. It is debtors prison revisited - debtors prison was made illegal in the U.S. in the 19th century. It is basically a method of extreme harassment to coerce payment from the debtor. Typically it results in lost wages for the debtor, extreme hardship as many have children, etc...
Many of these hospitals have also resorted to zombie debt collecting - trying to collect on debts that are un-collectable (debtor passed away, over 10-30 years old and non-enforcable, etc...) Several hospitals have been using these tactics to threaten and coerce surviving spouses into taking on old debt. Some have even been caught trying to collect on debts expunged in bankruptcy.
The worst part is how these hospitals and doctors determine what the actual amount of the debt is. Medicare and insurance have set prices that they must agree to. But the uninsured are charged a lot more - a whole lot more. At Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte NC the uninsured are charged many times over what the insured are assessed - 300 - 400% more and even more. With a little research it was found that this hospital, like many others, was undoubtedly taking advantage of the uninsured. If a patient tries to see how the bill came to be - itemized - it is almost in foreign code. They don't want you to see the $100 toilet paper, 1000% markup on medicines and supplies, etc... It is a license to literally steal from the uninsured - they can make up whatever numbers they want for charges and collect very aggressively on them. This needs to be changed - these hospitals and doctors need to be policed. It used to be that the oath a doctor had to take to become a doctor was to basically help people - it has even been changed to favor the doctor and his earnings.
The hospitals say that they are having a hard time covering costs and such - right, thats why the CEO and other board members make millions of dollars for little work. The problem we have here is far greater than we can see. The healthcare industry is very unstable, prices are soaring, medicare and insurance are also increasing at rates that are causing coverages to be lowered or even dropped all together. What the U.S. needs is for the government to take back control. Limit doctor pay, hospital charges, billing practices, etc... Increase taxes on the wealthy - stop giving them so many tax breaks and shelters. The average american (low to middle class) pays around 30 - 35% in taxes, while the affluent pay only 1% or less on average. Hospitals and doctors are playing a game of legalized theft - enough is enough. Let's take back our health care system and return it to what it once was and should be - to provide low cost, fair healthcare regardless of race, financial background, etc...
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis. Musicians and rock groups use it every day to promote their albums, concerts and concert stuff.

Myspace, Myspace, Myspace - What is Myspace and Why is it so Popular?

By David Maillie

We see it on TV everyday. On CNN, NBC, every news channel, even on Martha Stewarts show -yes, she is on Myspace also. Hundreds of thousands of bands from Kid Rock and Uncle Cracker to 50 Cent, Jessica Simpson, etc... all have their own Myspace pages. Myspace has grown in the past 2-3 years to over 66 million users and is growing at a rate of 2-10K per hour and several million per month. There are now more people on Myspace then there are searches per day on Google - the largest internet search engine. Comedian Dane Cook has over 900,000 friends on Myspace now and it helped promote him from nothing to on Saturday Night Live and a nationwide tour under his name with many top comedians.
Myspace doesn't charge a penny and doesn't bombard you with ads like other free services in the paste (Kazaa, ICQ, etc...). You can advertise for free, start a blog, start a romance, build friends, network, etc... With over 65 million users the possibilities are endless. Its also very easy to use - It doesn't take a manual or a learning timeframe like AOL in the past. This free service has attracted bands in droves. There are over 100,000 bands, artists and similar on Myspace with pages showing tour schedules, factoids, etc... Many of these bands are using Myspace for free publicity and to grow their fanbase and popularity. They can release videos, excerpts, free songs, etc... It all works - just look at some of the bands and their numbers of page views and friends - Jessica Simpson has over 200,000 friends - that is over 200,000 people that get free updates and info from Jessica.
Relatively unknown websites and artists can now get free publicity and get heard. To test this we started a Myspace page 1 week ago and today have over 1,000 page views and over 700 friends. We receive over 70 bulletins per day with announcements on everything from band tour dates to concerts, special invites, offer for a date, business websites, etc... The majority of users are teens and young (under 38) adults. It seems this age group has grown tired of VH1 and MTV reality shows and the lack of music and information that is tailored to their desires. This is what Myspace provides. You control who is in your network and what information, music videos, news, etc... you receive and subscribe to.
Myspace is the next AOL, and the sky is the limit. It is rumored that a lot of programming will soon be live off websites like Myspace. Maybe Myspace will become like XM radio - no or little commercials, choose your own programming 24 hours a day. No need to pay for cable TV, or movies. You will just pay a flat monthly fee. What ever Myspace's future holds, it is sure to change TV, radio, and our world or our space for ever. It certainly had a profound effect on Dane Cook and his future is looking brighter and brighter.
David Maillie is a chemist with over 12 years experience in biochemical research and clynical analysis.
