Finally something really useful when it comes to travelling. Usualy, travelers know a lot about how to prevent most of the unexpected. They know what to take with, what not to take, what kind of clothing, the amount of money...But there is something essential, and always a problem when it dont fit: plugs and sockets. WOIPY GOES INTERNATIONAL!

Woipy is a French dog and is four years old. He lives in Alsaisa with his owner David who is a no sighting person. Now he is living in Mendoza for a period of time. It was really challenging at the beginning! The streets are so different and they have sort of irrigation channels on the sides (acequias). Once, David fell in to one by accident, but nothing happened! Well, nobody is perfect, right? To be a guide is not easy sometimes, one has to be aware of the heights and widths, always be careful with the traffic lights and have a great sense of orientation. It’s not a job that anyone could do.

David wanted to come to Argentina because he wanted to acquire a better level of spanish and had proyects of being a translater in the furure. Thats why Woipy had to take a 13 hour flight and finally arrive in Argentina( later he chose Mendoza for being such a nice and friendly place). So many new things… Like I said before: a real challenge! The smell. The streets, the cars…nothing was the same. He had to be especially careful by crossing the streets!
But here they are, reaching Davids goal and even more! The crew of Coined Mendoza convinced him to realize the DELE diploma and he did!

To make their arrival to Argentina possible, the director of Coined Mendoza made all the arrangements to have the previous exam realized in Braille and also made it possible for them to have access, without difficulty, to any public place in Mendoza, such as the consul, the bank, etc.

He even bothered to buy David a special wallet to have the different bills separated, so it would be much easier for him to handle with money.
Woipy especially wants to thank the attention, for letting them reach their goal and go even further! They proved us all that most of the time We are the ones who put obstacles in our life and that they sometimes don’t even exist.
Now David wants to be a professor,

New School in Santiago de Chile!

The new Spanish school in Santiago de Chile is located in Providencia town near two big avenues, Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins Av. and Providencia Av.

The official inauguration of the School was on February the 1st. There you can learn Spanish taking private or group classes and combine your program with salsa lessons, culture, ski lessons in winter and so on.

The Spanish school was built in 1925 by Ricardo Larraín Bravo, a recognized architect of the time. Now the building is recognized as a National monument and belongs to the historic center of Chile.

The Spanish School has 12 classrooms, Video room, Internet, cafeteria and a big terrace with a wonderful view of the city center of Santiago.

Within a 5 minute walk from the School, you can find the well-known Bellavista neighborhood, where you will find many entertaining places, restaurants and the best wines of the world.

For those who enjoy art, the theater of Chile’s University or the craft fairs near the school are a must, where they can appreciate the beautiful Chilean handcrafts made of copper, gold, and silver, among others.

Near the school you can also find a fine arts museum and if you love outdoor activities, Cerro San Cristóbal is a place where the family meets to enjoy what is considered the green lung of the city.

Dakar Rally 100% Argentinean-Chilean

The Dakar Rally, the annual off-road race, organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation is open to amateur and professional entries.

This year 2009 Etienne Lavigne, director of the Dakar, officially presented to the press the new setting of the Dakar Rally: Argentina-Chile.
The race starts on January the 3rd in Buenos Aires and ends on January the 17th.
The terrain the competitors will defy is much tougher and the vehicles used are true off-road vehicles rather than the modified sedans used in rallies. Most of the competitive special sections are off-road, crossing dunes, mud, camel grass, rocks and erg among others.

All the ingredients will be there to remind competitors (take a look at the pilots and co-pilots list) that the arrival in Buenos Aires will be hard-won. The plains of Patagonia, the Atacama Desert and the passageway through the Andes Mountains – all in the heat of the austral summer – will provide an ideal setting for testing the endurance of the pilots who participate in the Dakar 2009.

The race will take place in the following provinces of Argentina:
Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Río Negro, Chubut, Neuquén, Mendoza, Catamarca, La Rioja, Córdoba and Santa Fe. And it will also pass through Valparaiso, Coquimbo, Atacama and Corredores in Chile.

If you are close to any of these locations you can’t miss the Dakar Rally: a true combination of human racing abilities and extreme adventure.

We celebrated the student's day at the Spanish School in Cordoba Argentina. The teachers organized several cultural and fun games and we really enjoyed it! I think it is a great way to get together in a complete different activity. These type of things are excellent to create stronger bond between the students. Take a look at the following video !

Thursday the 11th of September 2008, also known as “Día del maestro”. My day began with my Spanish lessons, not knowing that we would not have a break. Around 12 o'clock I looked for the first time at my watch, and decided that I really wanted to have a break, because usually we should already have had one, one hour earlier. But at this exact moment Federico, my teacher, told us we could leave.

When we came downstairs the teachers began to tell us to go outside, so I thought ´just another birthday; congratulations!´ Only this time I saw the table football, a wooden thing with holes in it and a frog on it, a twister, a ping pong table, and a table with some bowls on it. And then finally a bell began to ring: `It's Thursday, so this has to be the ´Día del Maestro´. I often have this feeling of memory loss over here; forgetting which day and date it is. Days pass by with the speed of light, and before you know it, it is weekend again.

Then there was a speech held by one of our teachers, telling us this day was the day of the teachers, and that this is a very important day in Argentina. In the Netherlands we also have ´lerarendag´, but not as important as over here. Every teacher formed a team with 4 students, trying to win one of the first 3 places to win ´a surprise´.

My team started off with table football, which not exactly turned out to be a great success. Anyway, we did our best. Next game would be the game at the table with the bowls, which I already feared from the beginning, and it turned out that this was not without reason. We had to get candies out of this bowl filled with flour... with our mouth. Melville started to try to get the candies, which he did very well, so Olivia and I thought it would be a nice idea to let him do the rest as well. He was under flour anyway. But, unfortunately, we had to try it as well. I can tell you, once but no more. It was good fun though, because Melville turned out to be a white guy instead of the coloured Englishman he was before.

Next would be ping pong, which was hilarious. Two teachers, women (no offence), played against each other, but had some problems hitting the table. We won, and Twister was next. Although we lost Twister, it was good fun!

Last but not least, was the game with the frog. We had to throw the coins into the holes, in the frog, or in a `man's mouth´. Unfortunately we were not very successful in this game either.

We turned out to be last. Well, it is just a game anyway, isn't it?

Fiesta del Dia del Amigo

El jueves 17 de Julio nos reunimos para festejar el Día del Amigo en la escuela de Córdoba, no solo para dar al grupo de estudiantes nuevos la posibilidad de conocerse mejor, sino también para encontrar a colegas y amigos. Como antes había otro evento en las dependencias de la escuela, todo el equipo cooperaba decorando y preparando todo en poco tiempo para que la fiesta pudiera comenzar a la hora.

A las diez de la noche, los primeros alumnos e invitados llegaron, listos a tomar algo juntos y esperar con paciencia por las hamburguesas. Todo el mundo aprovechó la ocasión para charlar y divertirse con antiguos y nuevos amigos y honraba así el lema de la fiesta. Primer apogeo de la noche fue una banda que tocó unas canciones en vivo. Después de comer y disfrutar la buena música junto con la linda voz de la cantante, unos chicos se atrevieron a declarar abierta la pista de baile mientras otros preparaban drinks para todos. Más y más personas comenzaron a bailar y el DJ se ocupaba de los diferentes deseos de música de modo que todos se divirtieran y la pista de baile se llenara muy rápido.

Que pena que ya teníamos que terminar la fiesta a las dos y media para no molestar a los vecinos. Otra vez, todos ayudaron a ordenar las salas lo más rápido posible y daban así un fin digno a nuestra fiesta divertida del Día del Amigo.

Party zum Tag des Freundes

Am Donnerstag, den 17. Juli, versammelten wir uns alle in der Sprachschule in Cordoba, um gemeinsam den Tag des Freundes zu feiern, welchem in Argentinien sehr grosse Wichtigkeit beigemessen wird. Damit gaben wir nicht nur den vielen neuen Schuelern die Moeglichkeit, sich besser kennenzulernen, wir genossen es auch selbst, Kollegen und alte Freunde wiederzusehen. Da vorher in den Raeumlichkeiten der Schule eine andere Veranstaltung stattfand, musste das Schulteam gut zusammenarbeiten, um innerhalb kuerzester Zeit alles vorzubereiten und zu dekorieren und so den rechtzeitigen Beginn des Festes zu gewaehrleisten.

Die ersten Schueler und Gaeste trafen puenktlich gegen 22 Uhr ein, bereit gemeinsam etwas zu trinken und geduldig auf die Hamburger zu warten. Alle nutzten die Gelegenheit, um sich zu unterhalten, sich mit alten und neuen Freunden zu amuesieren und so dem Motto der Party gerecht zu werden. Den ersten Hoehepunkt des Abends stellte der Auftritt einer Band dar, die uns mit Livemusik begeisterte. Nachdem alle gesaettigt waren und sich an der guten Musik und der schoenen Stimme der Saengerin erfeut hatten, trauten sich die Ersten, die Tanzflaeche zu eroeffnen, waehrend andere Drinks fuer alle zubereiteten. Immer mehr Gaeste zog es auf die Tanzflaeche und der DJ war gerne bereit, auf die verschiedenen Musikwuensche einzugehen, sodass alle viel Spass hatten und der Saal sich rasch fuellte.

Leider mussten wir dass Fest schon um 2.30 Uhr beenden, um die Nachbarn nicht zu stoeren. Erneut halfen alle gemeinsam dabei, die Schule schnellstmoeglich aufzuraeumen und bereiteten so unserem Fest zum Tag des Freundes ein wuerdiges Ende.

Almuerzo con platos típicos de la cocina Argentina!

Para conocer la comida regional argentina fuimos a un restaurante típico argentino, que ofrece entre otras cosas, empanadas, locro criollo, humita, tamal, dulces y postres como los alfajores de miel, caña de azúcar, queso de cabra con alcayota (fruta) y pastelitos.

Empanadas tucumanas

se caracteriza precisamente por su elaboración totalmente artesanal. La masa es "casera", sin conservantes, sin colorantes, elaborada en el día. La carne cortada a cuchillo y la "horneada" a punto es el secreto milenario que lleva en su interior.

Locro Criollo
El locro típico tucumano lleva los siguientes ingredientes: maíz, poroto, carne, zapallo, chorizo colorado y panceta. Como condimento se utiliza el ají frito, nombre que se le da a una fritura de grasa y ajíes suave. Acompañado por pan casero.

Humita en chala

Se hacen a base de harina de maíz y anco (una variedad de zapallo), se rellenan con carne de cabeza de cerdo, pasas, huevos y condimentos.Se cubren, finalmente, con una "chala" (hoja seca de choclo) y se atan. Finalmente se cocina en una olla con agua hirviendo y sal.

Tamal

Se hacen a base de harina de maíz y anco (una variedad de zapallo), se rellenan con carne de cabeza de cerdo, pasas, huevos y condimentos. Se cubren, finalmente, con una "chala" (hoja seca de choclo) y se atan. Finalmente se cocina en una olla con agua hirviendo y sal.

Un Asado Argentino

El conocido asado, carne cocinada a la parrilla, con carbón o leña, está extendido por todo el país y es una comida típica argentina. Acompañada de ensaladas, chimichurri (salsa de especies que se sirve para ponerle a la carne), además pan cortadito y una botellita de vino.

El asado forma parte del folklore argentino, cualquier actividad es buen excusa para juntarse a comer un asado. El reúne la familia y los amigos en todas las ocasiones: cumpleaños, feriado nacional, un sábado a la noche o domingo al mediodía.

Para conocer esta tradición gastronómica, comimos un típico asado en uno de los restaurantes más tradicionales de Buenos Aires. Antes de disfrutarlo, el gaucho argentino nos informó sobre los diferentes tipos de carne que están cocinados a la parrilla y sobre los secretos de un buen asado. Uno, por ejemplo, es la cocción lenta. La carne, salada previamente, debe ser asada a las brasas y no por el fuego.

Excursión a la Estancia Jesuítica de Santa Catalina y las Cuevas de Ongamira

A pesar de la hora temprana, el grupo de estudiantes que participaron en esa excursión estaba de buen humor y llenos de expectativas al reunirse en la escuela a las 8 de la mañana. Sin embargo, la mayoría de los estudiantes aprovechó el viaje en bus para descansar y reunir fuerzas.
Cuando llegamos a la estancia de Santa Catalina, el sol brillaba. Primero realizamos una visita guiada de los edificios de la estancia jesuítica, que antes era un centro religioso y económico de la región: En este lugar, los jesuitas intentaron enseñar y convertir a los aborígenes así como crearon una producción agropecuaria importante para el transporte de bienes. Después de la expulsión de la Compañía de Jesús, la estancia fue adquirida por una familia rica, en cuya propiedad está hasta hoy. Como es utilizada como residencia de vacaciones y fines de semana, solamente abre sus puertas para visitantes los días laborales. En 1941 fue declarada Monumento Histórico Nacional.
Nuestra visita comenzó en la iglesia, cuya edificación fue terminada en 1754. El guía nos explicó los detalles de las distintas obras religiosas de la época en su interior, de las cuales muchas fueron creadas por artífices indígenas. Hasta hoy se intenta conservar su aspecto de origen, pero su restauración es muy cara y los propietarios reciben poco apoyo oficial. Además, el guía nos mostró la entrada al sistema de conductos subterráneos de varios kilómetros que sirvió de proveedor de agua así como huida de los sacerdotes de los españoles que querían expulsarles. Seguimos contemplando los patios lindos y los otros edificios de la estancia, como la antigua residencia de los monjes, que nos parecía fría y oscura.
Después de la visita guiada, el grupo sacó provecho del tiempo hermoso para sacar muchas fotos en el jardín otoñal.
Poco antes del mediodía, continuamos nuestro viaje y fuimos a la ribera idílica de un arroyo. Todo el mundo tenía hambre, pero antes tuvimos que ganar el almuerzo haciendo tareas relacionadas al tema de la excursión. Mientras los profesores ayudaron a los grupos diferentes, Mariano y Maxi prepararon los choripanes y las hamburguesas.
Antes de subir a los buses para ir al último destino, nos descansamos acostados en el césped al lado del arroyo, disfrutando del sol. Algunos no querían en absoluto abandonar este lugar pacífico situado en plena naturaleza.
Llegado al Valle de Ongamira, estábamos muy impresionados por las formaciones de las rocas. Según la leyenda, los últimos indígenas de la tribu de los comechingones se escondieron allá de sus perseguidores españoles y prefirieron arrojarse desde los peñones a entregarse a los conquistadores. Se dice que las rocas rojizas están teñidas por su sangre.
Nos pusimos en camino a escalar la cumbre, lo que no resultaba fácil a algunos chicos. Pero la panorámica hermosa a la luz del sol que se ponía nos alentaba a poner mas esfuerzo. Gracias a la ayuda de nuestros acompañantes masculinos, todos conseguimos subir y bajar sin hacernos daño y pudimos reunirnos para la última foto del grupo en la cueva de los indios.
Durante el viaje de vuelta, la mayoría no lograba resistir al sueño y los pocos estudiantes que todavía estaban despiertos ya forjaron planes sobre sus próximas excursiones a los alrededores de la linda ciudad de Córdoba.

Ausflug zur Jesuiten-Estanzia Santa Catalina und zu den Höhlen von Ongamira

Trotz der frühen Stunde versammelte sich eine Gruppe gut gelaunter Exkursionsteilnehmer voll freudiger Erwartungen um 8 Uhr in der Schule. Jedoch nutzte die Mehrzahl die lange Busfahrt dann doch, um sich noch einmal auszuruhen und Kräfte zu sammeln.
Als wir dann schliesslich in Santa Catalina ankamen, erwartete uns wundervolles Wetter. Zuerst nahmen wir an einer Führung über das Gelände der Estanzia teil, welche früher eines der religiösen und wirtschaftlichen Zentren der Region war: An diesem Ort versuchten die Jesuiten, die Eingeborenen zu unterrichten und zu bekehren und stellten dort ausserdem einen für den Gütertransport wichtigen Viehzuchtbetrieb auf die Beine. Nach der Ausweisung der Jesuiten wurde die Estanzia von einer reichen Familie erworben, in deren Besitz sie bis heute geblieben ist. Da sie von seinen Besitzern hauptsächlich als Ferien- und Wochenendhaus genutzt wird, öffnet sie ihre Pforten für Besucher nur unter der Woche. 1941 wurde das Gelände zum Historischen Nationaldenkmal erklärt.
Unsere Führung begann in der Kirche, die im Jahre 1754 fertiggestellt wurde. Der Touristenführer erklärte uns die Details der verschiedenen religiösen Werke, von denen viele von indianischen Künstlern errichtet worden waren. Bis heute versucht man, deren ursprüngliches Aussehen aufrecht zu erhalten, jedoch ist eine professionelle Restaurierung sehr teuer und die Besitzer erhalten wenig Unterstützung von offizieller Seite. Ausserdem zeigte uns der Führer den Eingang zum mehreren Kilometer langen, unterirdischen Kanalsystem, das einst sowohl der Wasserlieferung als auch als Fluchtweg der Jesuiten vor der Ausweisung durch die Spanier diente.
Weiterhin bestaunten wir die hübschen Innenhöfe und die restlichen Gebäude der Estanzia, wie beispielsweise die ehemaligen Wohngebäude der Mönche, die uns sehr kalt und düster vorkamen.
Nach der Führung nutzte die Gruppe das schöne Wetter aus, um im herbstlichen Garten viele Erinnerungsfotos zu schiessen.

Kurz vor Mittag setzten wir unsere Reise fort und gelangten ans idyllische Ufer eines Baches. Wir hatten alle grossen Hunger, mussten uns jedoch unser Essen zunächst verdienen, indem wir thematisch relevante Aufgaben erledigten. Während die mitgereisten Sprachlehrer den einzelnen Gruppen dabei unterstützend zur Seite standen, bereiteten Mariano und Maxi die Choripanes und Hamburger vor.
Bevor wir erneut in die Busse stiegen, um unser letztes Ziel zu erreichen, hatten wir noch Zeit, uns auf der Wiese auszustrecken und die Sonne zu geniessen. Einige von uns wollten diesen friedlichen Ort in der Natur gar nicht mehr verlassen.
Im Ongamira-Tal angekommen, waren wir alle ziemlich beeindruckt von den berühmten Felsformationen. Der Legende nach versteckten sich hier die letzten Angehörigen des Indianerstammes der Comechingonen vor den sie verfolgenden Spaniern und zogen es vor, sich selbst von den Klippen zu stürzen, statt in spanische Hände zu fallen. Deshalb heisst es, dass die rötlichen Felsen von ihrem Blut gefärbt wurden.
Wir machten uns auf den Weg die Spitze zu erklimmen, was einigen von uns nicht ganz leicht fiel. Jedoch entschädigte uns der grossartige Panoramablick auf die umliegenden Berge für diese Strapazen. Dank der Hilfe unserer männlichen Begleiter, schafften wir es auch alle, den Auf- und Abstieg unbeschadet zu überstehen und konnten uns zu einem letzten Gruppenfoto in der Höhle der Indios versammeln.
Während der Heimreise schafften die meisten es dann nicht mehr, dem Schlaf zu wiederstehen und die wenigen, die wachgeblieben waren, schmiedeten schon Pläne für die nächsten Ausflüge ins Umland des schönen Córdobas.

Visita al museo Marqués de Sobremonte

El jueves, 5 de junio, un grupo de estudiantes acompañado por dos profesores se pusieron en camino para visitar la casa del famoso Marqués de Sobremonte, comerciante rico, antiguo gobernador de Córdoba y virrey del Río de la Plata.
Tampoco las manifestaciones típicas que tenían lugar en las calles pudieron impedir que nosotros supiéramos más de la historia de Córdoba. Llegado a la bella casona colonial, nos dimos cuenta de que lamentablemente no era posible realizar una visita guiada con un guía profesional hacia esta hora del día. Por eso, Javier asumió este trabajo sin más hablar y – respaldado por Carina - logró darnos un vistazo profundo de la época del marqués, lleno de anécdotas interesantes sobre su vida y la independencia de Argentina. Debido a nuestros diferentes niveles de lengua, Bhavika estaba dispuesta a traducir espontáneamente en inglés lo que Javier nos contaba.

Estuvimos bastante impresionados por las diferentes habitaciones lujosas del marqués, dónde se podían contemplar muchos requisitos contemporáneos, como armas o joyas raras para el pelo femenino, y también por los patios llenos de luz – lamentablemente los únicos lugares dónde permitieron sacar fotos.
Pero también las viviendas del personal, dónde vivían los esclavos mulatos o negros bajo condiciones humillantes, contribuyeron a darnos una impresión redondeada de la época colonial.
Después de una hora y media habíamos visitado todos los partes de la casa y volvimos hambrientos a la escuela. Resumiendo hay que constatar que una visita a este museo vale la pena.

Besuch im Museum Marqués de Sobremonte

Am Donnerstag, den 5. Juni, machte sich eine Gruppe von Sprachschülern in Begleitung zweier Lehrer auf den Weg, das Haus des berühmten Marqués de Sobremonte, des reichen Kaufmanns, ehemaligen Gouverneurs Córdobas und Vizekönigs des Río de la Plata, zu besuchen.
Auch durch typisch argentinische Demonstrationen lieβen wir uns nicht abhalten, mehr über Córdobas Geschichte zu erfahren. Angekommen in der im Kolonialstil erbauten Villa, mussten wir leider erfahren, dass es nicht möglich ist, zu dieser Tageszeit eine professionell begleitete Führung zu erhalten. So übernahm Javier kurzerhand diesen Posten und lieferte uns – mit Carinas Unterstützung – einen breiten Einblick in die Epoche des Marqués, gespickt mit interessanten Anekdoten über sein Leben und die Unabhängigkeit Argentiniens.

Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Sprachniveaus der Studenten stellte sich Bhavika spontan als Übersetzerin zur Verfügung.
Wir waren sehr beeindruckt von den verschiedenen luxuriösen Wohnräumen des Marqués, in welchen sich viele zeitgenössische und teils absonderliche Requisiten, wie beispielsweise Waffen oder weiblicher Haarschmuck, begutachten liessen und von den lichtdurchfluteten Innenhöfen – leider die einzigen Orte an denen es erlaubt war, zu fotografieren. Aber auch die Personalbehausungen, in denen die ausschlieβlich farbigen Sklaven unter entwürdigenden Bedingungen lebten, durften natürlich nicht fehlen, um uns ein abgerundetes Gesamtbild der Kolonialzeit zu vermitteln.
Nach etwa eineinhalb Stunden hatten wir alle Teile des Hauses bewundert und machten uns hungrig auf den Weg zurück zur Schule. Alles in allem lässt sich festhalten, dass das Museum auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert ist.

Córdoba: un viaje inolvidable

En Argentina encontré exactamente lo que buscaba. Una nueva experiencia de vida y excelentes vacaciones. Percibimos que el español se torna cada vez más un idioma imprescindible frente a la globalización y al crecimiento del MERCOSUR. Además se muestra una opción más barata y más fácil a los que hablan portugués debido a la proximidad entre los países e a las similitudes entre los idiomas.

También se destaca en la disputa por empleos como un gran diferencial de aquellos que dejan el famoso “portuñol” de lado para aprender una nueva lengua. Respecto al turismo, Córdoba se mostró una ciudad increíblemente receptiva, valorizando aquello que tiene de mejor: sus construcciones históricas, representadas por sus museos y antiguas estancias jesuíticas muy bien preservados; su naturaleza exuberante de montañas, cascadas y ríos; y entretenimiento, directamente ligado a su población bastante joven, en la cual se destacan los universitarios de la segunda universidad más antigua de Latinoamérica.

Atribuyo enteramente esa magnífica experiencia que tuve en estos 45 días a Coined, una casa en la calle Caseros 873, que mostró ser mucho más de lo que una escuela. Probó ser una verdadera familia. Sin embargo, no una familia común. Aquí no hay padre ni madre – pues es parte de la maduración que se obtiene con ese tipo de programa. Hay hermanos. Con ellos, pasamos todos los días, de las aulas por las mañas a las actividades de las tardes y noches. Así somos tratados por todos, sea por el personal de mantenimiento, por los profesores o por el director. Todos se ayudan, cambian diversas experiencias y conocimientos; se encuentra personas de todos los lugares del mundo y claro mucha diversión.

Los mismos hermanos son también aquellos que están con nosotros fuera de la escuela. Hay siempre una programación que contempla directamente a los intereses de los alumnos: es posible jugar un partido de fútbol contra los rivales argentinos o bowling los martes, ir a los innumerables museos de la ciudad o permanecer con los amigos en la pileta de la propia escuela; a la noche, conocer a los boliches y bares cordobeses, repletos de gente joven y bonita donde es posible encontrar las deliciosas cervezas argentinas ¡Opciones no faltan!

Y no son solamente las personas de la escuela que están siempre dispuestas a ayudar. El pueblo argentino y aquellos que reciben a los extranjeros en sus casas también son excelentes anfitriones. Hay opciones como permanecer en una casa de familia lo que ofrece más tranquilidad o en las residencias estudiantiles donde la convivencia con los hermanos va más allá, haciendo con que los momentos de risas y diversión se extiendan por el resto del día.

Finalmente, quiero agradecer a todos que participaron en esta increíble experiencia. Tuve excelentes momentos y amigos acá que serán inolvidables.

Português e Espanhol em Argentina

Meu nome é Débora Reis, sou economista e psicopedagoga. Atualmente exerço a função de professora de ensino fundamental no Brasil. Estive em Córdoba por um mês para estudar na Coined e, nesse tempo, surgiu a oportunidade de dividir com um grupo de funcionários da empresa, que trabalha diretamente com a venda de cursos para estrangeiros, o conhecimento e contato direto com a língua Portuguesa.

Lecionei 30 horas/aula, na qual discutimos a cultura dos brasileiros e a formalização da língua. Esse processo resultou em uma experiência extremamente gratificante, na qual conseguimos socializar algumas das expectativas dos alunos brasileiros que apresentam o desejo de ingressar em um curso na Coined e, em cima disso, trabalhar com o intuito de atender essas mesmas expectativas.

As aulas foram interativas e expositivas, o que proporcionou um maior envolvimento do grupo, que por si só, já demonstrava-se interessado em aprender essa nova cultura. Interagimos com vários estudantes brasileiros de diferentes localidades através da linguagem oral, escutamos músicas, produzimos textos respondendo diversos questionamentos levantados por outros alunos da mesma nacionalidade e, trabalhamos com a parte formal da língua, a partir da necessidade do grupo, o que tornou o trabalho mais construtivo.
E isso vem sendo apenas mais um dos investimentos da Coined para atender melhor seus clientes.

Meeting real Gauchos in Cordoba

Last Saturday, the second weekend of January, I went to the Festival Nacional de Doma y Folklore (the National festival of horse taming and folklore) in Jesús María, a small village very close to Cordoba, Argentina.

Together with two other girls, also language students at my Spanish school in Cordoba, I met early afternoon at the bus terminal where hundreds of other locals had the same idea. Fortunately the city was very organized and there were buses heading to the festival every 20 minutes.

The bus ride took about 1 hour and arriving in Jesús María we were overwhelmed with the masses of people strolling around the loads of stands selling so called artesanías, traditional crafts, of all kind. Of course there were also lots of different stands with a large variety of different food, from the classic Argentinean Asado, Empanadas, or Choripan to the local delicacy Cabrito, which is chevon or young goat.

The main spectacle though takes place inside a huge football stadium in the middle of the fare grounds. During a whole week, so called gauchos, the Argentine version of a cowboy, compete in various horse taming tournaments inside the stadium until late at night. During brakes in between and after the competitions finish, various folklore bands and dance groups provide for entertainment. The event last long into the early morning hours and some people stay at the festival until 5am or even longer!

A very amusing thing was that nearly everyone in the crowd had huge posters with all sorts of personal messages written on them which they would hold up so they could be seen on television. Of course we didn’t want to be an exception to this and had a great time running around with our poster which said: Buscamos gauchos (con plata), meaning Looking for gauchos (with money)! photo

One can imagine that we were very popular with all the guys and thus ended up taking about 30 photos with different gauchos and were even filmed by a television broadcaster!
Well, at the end we didn’t find gauchos with money, but nevertheless we had a great time at the festival, experiencing part of the Argentinean way of life with lots of eating, dancing and celebrating with the local people until early in the morning!!

En este encuentro intentaremos hacer una presentación “no formal” de los estudiantes que participaron del taller. Para esto incursionaremos en el subgénero del autorretrato leyendo algunos de diferentes escritores – como Borges, Bioy Casares y García Márquez – mostrando la variedad de puntos de vista desde donde se los puede encarar
La experiencia fue muy interesante y los resultados, aun mejores.

Lucas Marujo – Brasil

4 de junio 1987. Sao Paulo. Brasil. El otro día discutía sobre zodíacos y las características de cada signo. Por lo que dijeron que soy un icono geminiano y me restringiré acá a lo que parecieron ellas. Extrovertido y optimista, con una autoestima que muchas veces me lleva a cometer los mayores errores. La certeza entonces ha convivido mucho con las decepciones. Decepciones que no se si son mías o de la edad. Aprendí que la maduración es difícil, la soledad más todavía. Por eso la búsqueda incansable por un contacto con todos los que están alrededor. Amigos, estos me sostienen. En este momento prevalecen las dudas, creer en los signos o en lo que parece pasar frente a mis ojos. Realmente veo en el espejo el géminis pero no estoy seguro si soy yo o lo que pienso ser y no lo soy. ¿Cuanto cambia la vida mientras los años pasan? ¡Como es complicado aceptar y mirar con tranquilidad esas transformaciones! Habrá cambiado todo demasiado rápido. Creo que tengo que mirarme en eso que veo en el espejo. El optimismo y las alegrías deberían vencer las incertidumbres naturales. Aceptar y aprender con las decepciones. Buscar el conocimiento que ellas nos enseñan y quizás mi compañero de espejo me guiñe un ojo.

Alceu Constantino – Brasil

Me llamo Alceu Constantino, soy Aries

Nací en una ciudad que esta ubicada en el nordeste de Brasil, nombrada Teresina, PI. Vine de una familia muy tradicional, o sea, no le gusta que los jodan mucho, pues se ponen muy nerviosos. Bueno, mi madre es una profesora de primaria y le encanta trabajar con niños.
Tengo cuatro hermanas mayores y uno menor. La verdad es que casi nunca las veo pues paso casi todo el tiempo en la Universidad y cuando llego a casa no tengo paciencia pata hablar con nadie y me voy a dormir. Así que los fines de semana, todos salimos a dar un paseo y, bueno, nos enteramos de todo lo que ocurre en nuestra familia, en la vecindad y todo.
Soy estudiante de traducción en la Universidad estatal de Piaui. En el tiempo ocioso, me gusta salir con los amigos una salsa un forró y tomar unas copas. En la Universidad tengo muchos amigos, así que cuando podemos, combinamos citas y salimos de juerga por la noche. A mi no me gustan las matemáticas, tampoco la física, por eso cuando puedo, hinco los codos a estudiarlas.

Carlos Borborema Alves – Brasil

En 1987 nací en una clínica de la ciudad de Rió de Janeiro, Brasil. Mi madre y mi padre me dieron el nombre de Carlos, el mismo que el de mi abuelo.
En mi infancia mis amigos me llamaban Cacá o Biz y esto me encantaba porque me gustaba ser conocido y no me importaba como era llamado.
Ahora un poco más viejo, con 20 años, me gusta ser llamado por mi nombre y aprendí a ser una persona más tranquila y buena onda.
Sé dar más valor a mis buenos amigos y a mi familia. Hoy debo ser tío por tercera vez y así mi familia va creciendo y quedándose cada vez mas junta.
Cuando estaba en la escuela vivía la duda de estudiar matemática o historia, pero me quedé con la segunda y así fui a la universidad, donde estudio derecho.
Así, creo que he dicho un poco de mi y que en el futuro yo tenga la posibilidad de escribir mas y mas cosas sobre mi persona.
Ojala que les haya gustado saber algunas cosas más de mi persona.

Daniela Kraus – Alemania

Daniela, es mi nombre y creo que me gusta. Algunas veces no me gusta. ¿O no? No se. Pero normalmente si. Esta manera de pensar es un importante atributo de mí.
Soy una persona que cambia mucho. Una vez me gusta alguna cosa y otra vez la misma cosa no me gusta. Es difícil. Y por eso no me gusta tomar decisiones. Entonces siempre espero hasta el último momento y hago l que mi vientre me dice. Pero a veces esto no me gusta tampoco.
Y ahora no me gusta que use con frecuencia las palabras “me gusta” en este texto. Sin embrago soy una persona feliz estoy contenta de que todo pasó como pasó.
Esto me gusta mucho, en serio.

Renato Kuratami – Brasil

¡Buenos días! Soy un típico brasileño. Dios me regaló con samba, asado y fútbol. Pero soy tan pecho frio que el primero no se bailarlo, el segundo solo se comerlo y el ultimo soy un desastre.
Por otro lado tengo una familia increíble, una novia amable y amigos “buena onda”. Amigos distintos… con uno puedo surfear, con otro remontar barriletes, con otro charlar de inversiones, y así continuo caminando.
No tengo religión. Creo que una fuerza mayos con el nombre que quisiera: Dios, Iemanja, Jesús Cristo, o lo que sea. Pero la idea la idea de una institución mandando en todo me disgusta.
Estudio comercio exterior, no por opción o por ganas, lo hago porque no he ingresado en otro curso. Y eso me gusta porque veo que el curso que yo quiera no es lo que había pensado.

A trip to Talampaya and Valle de la Luna in Argentina!

During my 2 month language course in Cordoba I had the chance to travel to many fascinating natural sights, like the Iguazu waterfalls on the border to Brasil or the Lake area in Patagonia. But the most spectacular experience for me was visiting the breathtaking Talampaya National Park in the La Rioja Province and Ischigualasto Provincial Park, also called Valle de la Luna (signifying valley of the moon) in the province of San Juan in Argentina on the border to Chile. Valle de la Luna is adjoint to Talampaya National Park and both parks were declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 2000.

Ischigualasto and Talampaya are renowned for their fabulous red sandstone rock formations and the huge amount of well preserved dinosaur fossils which can be found in the area. This rugged region owes its appearance to the hot-dry climate, erosion by water and strong winds which carve odd shapes into the sandstone.

Therefore I was anxious to visit this magnificent place and very excited when my Spanish School in Cordoba organized a trip to Valle de la Luna and Talampaya. From Cordoba it takes about 7 hours to get to La Rioja Province. We met at my Spanish School on a Friday morning, so we would have the whole Saturday to drive through Talampaya and the whole Sunday for Valle de la Luna.

It was really advantageous to have a tour guide who could give us very interesting and useful background information. In Valle de la Luna we went on a 4 hour round trip, passing impressive rock formations such as the Cancha de Bochas (the Ball Court), El Submarino (the submarine) and El Gusano (the worm). I find it really amazing that some of these formations date back more than 228 million years.

Talampaya and Valle de la Luna were definitely worth a visit and I would urgently recommend anyone to include these miracles of nature in his travels.

To get a nice overview of the area around Mendoza, to be in the mountains and to get rid of my altitude sickness, I did the parasailing experience…
We drove in a 4-wheel drive to the top of the mountain “Cerro Arco” and from there the adventure started. The idea to sail in the sky is not human but because the take off speed was not that fast and the instructor presented very experienced, my fears were gone in a few seconds. From that point it was an amazing experience and a perfect way to get an outstanding overview of Mendoza. ¡Era bárbaro!
If you got the opportunity to parasail in Mendoza, do it!
