The next revision of HTML,[the HTML5] includes several new tags for embedding video and audio content in web pages.HTML 5 is said to become a game-changer in Web application development.

Now the most common way of publishing video content is by using flash.The user must have the flash player installed in order to view the video.Flash video uses massive amounts of processor time and slows down everything else on your computer.

The new tags introduced in HTML5 such as <video> and <audio> will allow you to view/play videos inside the browser without installing flash player.

Hide Your Computer From Windows Network

So,if you want to hide your computer from others users or administrators on a network for any reason just follow the easy steps given below.

This method is best used when you are an administrator who doesn't want other people to know you are on the network Or maybe you are a certain someone like me who doesn't want the administrator to know you are on the network.

First method to hide from windows network Using Command line (very easy)

Open command prompt (start->Run, type 'CMD' if your using windows XP/2K/Vista)

Enter the following command:

net config server /hidden:yes

Now your computer is hidden in the windows network.

Second method Using Computer name change(lengthy)

Right click “My Computer”.Click properties

Select computer name tab and click “change”.

Now open character map utility.(Start>Programs>Accessories >System Tools>Character Map)

Select the character illustrated above by double clicking it, then select copy. you can close Character Map now.

Now change the name of your computer as shown above by pressing CTRL+P(paste).Clcik ok and a new window will popup stating that using these characters will prevent other users from seeing your computer unless your network is using the Microsoft DNS Server.Click 'Yes'.Restart system.You are now invisible on your windows network.

P.S:Being invisible on any network doesn’t mean that you couldn’t never be tracked.These tricks will help just to hide from any novice user on a windows network.

How To Find Actual Extensions Of Unknown Files in Windows

Sometimes you might get stuck with files without extensions and windows will be showing them as unknown files.If you get a lot of attachments in your emails, you’ll know what I am talking about.In this case you might have tried your luck renaming those files to .txt or .zip, but in vain.

There is a small application which does this job for you.It identifies file extensions by checking the binary signatures of the files.

TrID is a small application which helps to find the actual extension of unknown files.This software is designed to identify file types from their binary signatures.You can download the GUI version of TrID and in the application browse to the file you want to analyze.Double clicking on any item shows additional information like the definition's file name, its author & e-mail address (if provided), a clickable link to a reference URL, remarks, etc.

If you are having a group of unknown files in a folder,wildcards could be used to scan all the files in that particular folder.In addition, using the switch -ae will instruct TrID to add the guessed extensions to the filenames. This come handy, for example, when working with files recovered by data rescue softwares. For example:

According to Bestbuy’s leaked corporate memo,consumers who buy Windows Vista build computers after June 26 will get Windows 7 upgrade for free.

The memo states that Best Buy will launch a "Technology Guarantee" program on June 26, under which anyone who purchases a PC running Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate can install Windows 7 at no extra charge when the latter becomes available Oct. 22.

So it becomes ‘somewhat’ confirmed that windows 7 would be released on October 22nd and those who will be purchasing Windows Vista based computer after June 26, will get free upgrade to Windows 7.This will definitely attract new customers who are holding off their purchase inorder to get the official version of Windows 7 build computers than the crappy Windows Vista based ones.Checkout the benchmarking results from zdnet blogs below.

Most of the computer hardware's comes along with their respective device drivers in a disc.If your driver CD gets lost or corrupted,then you can always download the necessary drivers from the manufacturer's website or restore the drivers from the backup if you have created earlier.

But if you do not have a backup and is unsure about the manufacture of the device or your device model,then you will not be able to search the device driver online and windows will be showing errors like “Unkown device Found” or “Device not identified” in your system tray.Here is an excellent trick to find out the correct drivers for the unknown devices in your device manager.

How to Download Drivers for Unknown Devices

1) Find the Vendor and Device ID of the unknown device.To do this,

Open Device Manager

(In windows XP :Start>Control panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager)
(In Windows Vista:Start>Control Panel>Device Manager)

In Device manager,take the properties of unknown device

In Properties, click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id from the drop box.

You will see a code like this

HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_2C06&SUBSYS_104D1700&REV_1000

Here 14F1 is the Vendor ID

and 2C06 is the Device ID

2)After obtaining both device and vendor ID,go to pcidatabase.com and search with your vendor ID or device ID to find the driver of the unknown device.

After finding your device model and manufacturer,you can either go to the manufactures website and download the necessary drivers or you can get them from these websites.

Keyloggers or keystroke logging softwares are used by hackers to secretly monitor and capture all keystrokes, mouse clicks, passwords,credit card details,visited web pages,sent emails and quite more.Modern key loggers can even capture screenshots or videos of your computer screen at regular intervals to monitor your activity.Most of these keyboard loggers remain invisible in the task manager and will never slow down your system as in case of spywares.Due to this,neither you nor your favorite antivirus will ever notice the presence of such programs.

From the Top Traders Insight window you will be able to identify the best currency to buy or sell.In the above insight,you can see that top forex traders are buying AUD/USD and thus it is the best time to buy AUD/USD and also you could see that it would be wise to sell GBP/JPY and USD/JPY.

If you are working on a website and want only selected people to access it,then the best option is to password protect the site or the root directory.This could be done easily by placing two files in the directory, .htaccess and .htpasswd.

.htaccess file

AuthType Basic
AuthName "restricted area"
AuthUserFile /path/to/the/directory/you/are/protecting/.htpasswd
require valid-user

Place the code in a text file and name it “.htaccess” and place it in the directory you want to password protect.Also note that the AuthUserFile should have the absolute path to the directory.It will be like /home/user/public_html/website/subdirectory/.htpasswd

You should be able to to echo out a phpinfo(); on a page in that directory to scope this directory out.

.htpasswd file

username:password

“.htpasswd” file should have one username and password per line separated by a colon.Place this file in the same directory as “.htaccess” file.After placing both the files your directory or website will be password protected.
