Remember, better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof. Your best is yet to come. You are heading for a better day.

There is a spiritual law in Genesis 8:22 that tells us that while the earth remains, seed time and harvest shall not cease. I want to encourage you today to keep pressing in, keep believing, keep standing on God’s Word, don’t quit, don’t give up. Remember, the Word works when you work the Word, so keep working that Word!

If you don’t quit in due season, what you have been believing for will come to pass. So make up your mind now that quitting is not an option. Hold that dream, that Word steadfast in your heart. When the Word is planted in the good soil of your heart, it always produces a harvest. The process of seed time and harvest is not just a natural process it is a supernatural process. The most powerful seed is the Word of God. The entire universe was framed and is held up by the Word of God’s power. God’s Word will produce in your life what it was designed to produce, so hold that thought, hold that dream of victory, of greatness, and don’t let it go.

2 Corinthians 3:18, “But we all with open face, beholding as in a mirror, the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from Glory to Glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

God wants to take you from Faith to Faith, from Glory to Glory. God wants to take you from one level of Faith to a whole new level of Faith, which will take you from one level of manifested Glory to a whole new level of manifested Glory. God wants to reveal His Glory through your life.

Remember you are a new creation in Him, His ability, His productivity, His creativity, is all in you, it’s all there now, waiting to be discovered, waiting to be developed, to be brought to the surface, brought out and used. You are a somebody in Him, you have a new image, a new nature, and you now need to renew and stretch your mind to this new you. Before you go to the office, college, work, your sphere of influence, you need to create all around you and in you an atmosphere of victory! Go out with the consciousness that you have victory. You and the “unseen One” are going down to the office together. You and the “unseen One” are stepping out together.

Remember, He has promised to never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 & Joshua 1:5). Step out of sin consciousness and step into Son consciousness, become aware, or conscious of the presence of God in your life, around you and with you. Where you go, He goes too, for you take Him with you.

Jesus said, man shall not live by bread alone, but man shall live by each and every word that proceeds forth from the mouth of God. (Luke 4:4).

Imagine that, we can live, receive life, by and through the Word of God. The Bible is the greatest book ever written. It contains the truth and solutions to all of your problems. The people of the Bible were no different to you and I. They faced challenges, health challenges, financial challenges, emotional challenges, family challenges and every other kind of circumstance and situation common to man.

We can read how they overcame these challenges of life through practical application of the Word of God. Today I challenge you, I dare you, to read Psalms, to read Proverbs, Songs of Solomon, Ecclesiastes and other books from the Bible. Get a concordance and read everything you can find under the topics of, Faith, Fasting, Love, Prayer, Spirit, Truth, Peace, Forgiveness, Anger, Jealousy, Hate, Evil Thoughts, Money, Prosperity, Sacrifice, Selfishness, Self Denial, Charity and Patience. Remember God’s universal law: whatsoever a man sows, that he shall also reap (Galatians 6:7).

Putting Yourself in the Way of Success Part II

The Bible teaches a divine law and how you can make it work. It teaches two things: obedience to the law brings reward, disobedience to the law brings punishment.

The Bible does not say you have to wait until after death to receive a reward, although you will receive a reward then, which will be far greater than you could ever imagine, because of your obedience now. You can also, through your obedience to the written Word of God, receive right here, right now. The Word teaches us that we can have health, happiness and prosperity here and now on this earth, and in the world to come, eternal prosperity, eternal happiness and eternal life. This is practical religion, practical Christianity.

The Word (Bible) says, prove all things, hold fast that which is good. Joshua 1:8 teaches us to meditate on God’s Word (law) day and night. Be careful to do according to what is written therein (obedience), and then you will make your way prosperous and you will have good success.

If only I could repeat it over and over so that you could remember this fact: You have within you all of the qualities and elements that are necessary to make you a success. Your chief work is the development of the thing that God has already placed within your being.

“You are endowed with the seeds of greatness, you have been designed for accomplishment and you are engineered for success. You are a somebody, you are not a nobody, God doesn’t waste His time to make nobodies, you were made by God. You are God’s Plan A, He doesn’t have a Plan B. You are it, you are special, God made you that way. You are unique; one of a kind, and God never created a failure when He created you. You have His ability, His productivity and His creativity abiding on the inside of you, for you were made in the God class of being, in His image, in the image of God.”

Today, we have image-makers in our world, people who take politicians, movie stars, business executives, CEO’s, Mum’s and Dad’s and ordinary people like you and I. Image-makers take them, give them a unique makeover and WOW! New person on the outside. New image, new look.

What a lot of people fail to realise, is that it’s not what’s on the outside, but what’s on the inside that counts. God wants to build character in you, His character. He wants you to partake of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). He wants to change you from the inside out. He wants to put a new heart, a new spirit within you. When we become born again, we become new creations in Him and behold; He makes all things new. Old things are passed away, all things are made new. (2 Corinthians 5:17).

I Have the Capacity to Think Big

Proverbs 23:7(a) “For as a person thinks in their heart, so are they.” Or, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

You have the capacity to think big. Only big thinkers will achieve big things. If you can conceive things in your mind and see them in your imagination, you can receive them. “Conceive it, and you can achieve it!” God wants you to think BIG. I have never known God to give a person a small vision. The visions that come from God may ask you to do small things to see your heart, your willingness or your obedience, but when God gives you a vision to achieve something, it is usually always beyond what you could do in your own strength, resources or abilities. God wants you to trust in Him, rely upon Him and look to Him for your supply and source. Remember, God is your resource. If you can think big, then you can do big because your God is big and it is His strength, His power and His ability that will go to work on your behalf.

“Do the feared jobs first!”

One of the greatest ways I have learned to maximize my days is by doing the feared jobs first. By this, I mean those jobs you don’t want to do. Those phone calls you don’t want to make. Those activities you wish you didn’t have to do at all. Do them first, tackle them first up in your day. In so doing, you get them out of the way early and then your energy can be put into the work you love, without the drain in the back of your mind of the thing you have been dreading or fearing to do. You can prioritize your day, making a list of what needs to be done and ticking them off as you go. In so doing you can look back over your day or week and be encouraged by all you have achieved.

Proverbs 27:23 says, “Be you diligent to know the state of your flocks (business, ministry, family), and look well to your herds (people, ministry, possessions.)"

“Make every day, a successful day for it is the successful days that make you rich.”

You can’t get rich on failure days, but you can’t fail to get rich on successful days. So then, make today successful, full of success, seek first the Kingdom of God and you day will be successful. Put God first in all you do, and God will make you to prosper! That’s God’s solemn promise, His covenant to you!

You can’t bring back yesterday, you can only fully maximize today. Live life with purpose, live life with urgency. Don’t live in “Woulda! Coulda! Shoulda!” Forget what lays behind, yesterday is gone, learn from your mistakes so as to not repeat them, but don’t live in your mistakes, move on, live in today, not yesterday. Believe for a better day, dream of a better day. Dream of victory.

The number one form of failure in all our lives is excuses. Get over your own excuses, you were born to overcome. Propel yourself forward to get results. You can’t buy back yesterday, but you can own today, you can make today a winning day, thereby affecting your tomorrows. Your tomorrows are established by what you do today. Take care of today and tomorrow will take care of itself. It is time for you to step into what God has for your life. Remember, “This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!”

Here the word of God is telling us to have a desire for God’s pure truth, found in the Bible. We should make it a daily practice to feed on the good Word of God. As we can see from this scripture, this desire and habit will cause us to grow. That is what God wants; God wants mature Christians that are ready to serve Him. As we grow, we will become powerful in faith and powerful in spirit, which will work out in our lives.

Some people wonder why they can’t have faith for healing. Yet they feed their bodies three hot meals a day and their spirits one cold snack a week. Just imagine if an elite athlete only fed their body once a week. It would not matter how talented or gifted they were, it wouldn’t matter how hard or often they trained, soon they would be left behind in the field.

We as Christians need to learn that our strength is in the Word and as we feed on it, we will digest it and it will go down and nourish our inner man. This word in us will transform us and cause us to walk in the Spirit. When we are in the Spirit we are unconquerable, going from victory to victory, our life becomes hidden with Christ in God. The secret of having more faith is to know more about God, and God has revealed Himself to us through His Word. Our work is to know Him and He is to be found in His Word, for He and His Word are one. Paul said; “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection”, Philippians 3v10.

If God’s Word says you are forgiven, then you are forgiven, if God’s Word says your needs are met, then your needs are met. If God’s Word says you are healed, you are healed. If you don’t let go of God’s Word, but keep it in your heart and mouth, then you can’t lose.

There is no force the devil can bring against you that can overthrow the Word of God. God’s Word will make you a victor every time. So if you have been wanting good success and it has been eluding you, quit wondering if you have what it takes to succeed and remember instead, who lives in you. Then turn to the Word and put God’s success formula to work in your life. Start talking it, start thinking it, start doing it! You can believe all day long that the Bible is true- and that’s to your credit- but what the Bible says will never affect your life in a personal way until you start acting on God’s Word.

Do not worry or fret that God has given more faith to others than He has to you. Rest assured in the fact that God has imparted enough faith to you to make sure you are covered from head to toe! Faith counts the thing done, before anything has happened. Remember, no promise of God can fail to be fulfilled. (Luke 1:37)

Now think about that again. A definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. How much do you want success in life? Enough to change what you are saying or enough to change what you are doing or enough to change what you are focusing your attention on?

You have to act on God’s Word even when everything is telling you it won’t work. If you want it that much, the Word of God guarantees you will find success in life. The Word, or bible, tells us that God’s success is good success. There are two kinds of success, good success that brings happiness with it, and the kind that brings sorrow.

Too many people have succeeded at the expense of their health or family or relationships. That’s not what God wants, He says in Proverbs 10:22 “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich! And He adds no sorrow with it.” Now that’s the kind we want! The word “blessing”, used here is a Hebrew word for prosperity! The word, “rich” used here, means to grow rich or, to make one rich! Isn’t that excellent? “And He adds no sorrow with it”, that word means, “painful toil, mind or body, hard labour or sorrow.”

I will warn you, Satan won’t like it if you choose the way of success. He will do what ever he can to try to stop you having or entering God’s best for your life. He also knows what tactics to use against you to try to distract you from God’s will. His goal is to stop your dreams, by stopping your faith. Satan knows faith will bring you answers to your prayers and he will use all he has to get you to stop believing God’s word! He will put thoughts of doubt into your mind, thoughts of fear and worry. Anything opposite to God’s Word is what the devil will tell you. Don’t listen to him; don’t let those thoughts become yours, even though they are in your head. They don’t become yours unless you believe them and take them by speaking them.

Don’t speak the problem; don’t let the fear into your heart. Don’t dwell on what the devil is saying, but only dwell on what God is saying!

Faith

Charles Spurgeon said, “A little faith will bring your soul to heaven; A great faith will bring heaven to your soul.” Faith is more than mental assent; faith believes what the Word says even though sight and feelings may be saying something different.

One of the greatest enemies of real faith is a thing called, “mental assent”. People who act in mental assent say they believe the Word, but when the pressure is on, they go to pieces and start speaking fear and unbelief. You can tell if they really believe the Word or not, by what is coming out of their mouth. If they’re questioning God’s love, His ability or just plain speaking the opposite to what God says, then you know they were in mental assent and not faith. When you are in faith, regardless of the circumstances, your heart is fixed trusting in the Lord.

Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God that passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

People in mental assent just plain don’t act on the Word when problems arise. Mental assent says, “I believe the bible from cover to cover. I believe I am healed by the stripes of Jesus.” However, when sickness actually comes or attacks, it stops saying, “I am healed,” and starts saying, “I am sick.”

Faith doesn’t care what the symptoms are; it doesn’t care what the circumstances may be! It isn’t moved by the banker or doctor’s report. It is only moved by what it believes! And it believes what God said is true, and confesses it! Faith in God’s Word will change the symptoms. It will change the bank account. It will bring money to get the bills paid. Faith will turn defeat into victory. It is God’s success formula! But remember you have to give that faith an opportunity to work . Give it some time to produce the results it was designed by God to produce. You have to keep God’s Word in your mouth and meditate on it in your heart. You have to be obedient to what God says, by faith and patience inherit the promises. As you do these things you will make your way prosperous and you will have good success.

The third step in God’s formula for success involves action. We must act as though the word we have been speaking, talking and meditating about, is true, even when the circumstances seem to say otherwise.

Jesus said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." (Luke 18:27). We have to act like we have already received the answer. Right here is where a lot of people miss it, because they fail to act on God’s word even though they know it works. You may have been studying Gods word for years. You may know how to live by faith better than anybody around, but if you only know and fail to act or do God’s word, you will miss the rewards. Remember it is not what you know, but rather what you know and act on, that brings the victory into manifestation.

Mark 11:22-24 “Have faith in God. For truly I say to you that whosoever shall say to this mountain, ‘Be thou removed and be cast into the sea’, and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things he says with his mouth shall come to pass, he shall have just what he says. Therefore I say unto you, whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and then you shall have them.”

Notice Jesus didn’t say you should believe you receive when you see it. He said to believe you receive, when you pray. John G. Lake said, “Beloved, it is not our long prayers but our believing God that gets the answer.”

Now if you follow His instructions, how do you think you should act? You should act like you have it now, you have your victory now, and you have your answer now! Do something you could not do before. Lift that arm, move that leg, bend that back! Rejoice, be happy! Praise God for the Victory now, thank Him for answering your prayers before you see it with your eyes and then you shall have it!

“One of these days” - is none of these days.

“One of these days is none of these days”. The second step in God’s formula of success is “You shall meditate the word day and night,” (Joshua 1:8). Do it now, start today, and make it a habit for the rest of your life. To meditate God’s word is more than just reading it.

You must take it into your heart in a very personal way and then apply it to your circumstances.

When you read the word and you see a scripture on prosperity, don’t just go, “well I wish I was prosperous!” That is not meditating the word. To meditate means to dwell on that scripture, claim it as your own. Own it; see yourself as prospering by the Lord’s grace and favour. Get a mental picture of a prosperous you. Declare this is not a history book; this is God talking to me. God is communicating with me, I am prosperous, and I receive this truth into my life, in Jesus name amen. Digest the word, feed on the word; this is your bread of life. Allow the word to become active in your life!

Every tomorrow has two handles.

“Every tomorrow has two handles. You can take hold of the handle of anxiety or the handle of enthusiasm. Upon your choice so will the day be.”

“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth...” (Joshua 1:8) That’s the first element of supernatural success God gives us in this verse. I like to say it this way, make a decision this day and every day to talk the word.

Deuteronomy 6:7 says, “...Speak the word when you sit at home, speak the word when you walk along the road, talk the word when you lie down and talk the word when you get up.” Be consistent, talk and speak the word all the time, all the day!

Romans 10:17 declares that, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God”.

In Luke 6:45 Jesus said, “…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”. If you worry about your finances, your job, your health, or your family all day, that will be your focus and you will fill your heart with fear and anxiety. To change what is coming out of your mouth, you must change your focus. Fill your heart with the word and your mouth will get in line. Your answer is in God’s word in your heart and mouth.

Against the Odds

Aerodynamically the bumble bee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn’t know this, so it goes on flying anyway. It takes courage to fly when the circumstances and every one around is screaming in your ears you can’t. It takes courage to stand on and continue to believe the Word of God when all hell is arrayed against you. But once you make the decision to do it, you will be ready to activate God’s three part formula for success.

Make the decision that you will win, make the decision that you will beat the odds; make the decision that you will achieve victory in life through Jesus Christ. You are not alone, God is with you today and He is on your side. Like the bumble bee, He will give you the ability to succeed in the face of impossible odds.

Joshua 1:8 “This book of law shall not depart out of your mouth but you shall meditate therein day and night that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.”

In the Amplified bible, it says if we do this we will deal wisely and have good success. I like that, deal wisely! So what are the 3 steps God gives us here in this verse?

Keep your heart and mouth full of the word of God.
Meditate (speak, dream, mutter, imagine, think, get a mental picture) on the word day and night.
Observe and do (obey) according to all that is written in it.

There they are, three simple steps directly from the mouth of God. Steps that enabled Joshua to conquer the land of Canaan and bring Israel into their inheritance. Steps that will enable you to live like the conqueror God designed you to be.

“But Shaun, you don’t know me! I have tried every formula in the book. I just keep failing; I don’t have what it takes to succeed”. Well if that is what you are thinking, you need to change what you are thinking. God says you can fulfil your destiny and no one has a right to stop you.

God told Joshua in chapter 1 verse 5, “There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you, nor will I forsake you” (Josh 1:5).

God had told Moses in the book of Exodus (Ex 3:12) when Moses claimed he wasn’t qualified to go before Pharaoh to demand the release of Gods people, that He (God) was with Moses. In other words, it doesn’t matter who you are, if God is with you all that matters is who God is a nd what God can do.

That’s the great thing about God’s success formula. It is not based on our abilities; it is based on God’s abilities. We may be inadequate in a dozen different ways, but the One who is with us is more than enough. In order to fulfil our destiny, we have to make a decision to act on and believe Gods word.

Make a decision today that with God’s help, with His ability, you will fulfil your purpose in life. Joshua 1:7 says “Be strong and very courageous, that you may do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left that you may prosper wherever you go”.

Wow, now that’s a powerful promise. If we take the bold step to act on and trust the Word of God, if we take the bold step to obey the word of God, live our life by the principles of God’s word, then God himself takes responsibility for our success and prosperity.

I dare you today to believe in your divine destiny. I dare you today to obey the word of God. I dare you today to make a quality decision to achieve your purpose in life, and do the necessary thing to make it happen.

If it’s unacceptable, don’t accept it.

In last Men’s Breakfast, the topic of discussion was ‘raising the standard’. My brother in law, John, said his old boss, who is now retired, had a favourite saying and it goes like this, “If its unacceptable don’t accept it.” John said he now makes that one of his daily themes.

All too often in life we settle for second best, all too often we settle for a lower standard than what we really desire or hope for. Some people long to see a greater victory, a better outcome, a standard of excellence, yet never get to see their dreams realized, and become frustrated to the point where they lower their hopes.

The bible tells us that “Hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Proverbs 13v12). If we think of sick ground or sour ground, we know its ability to grow and produce is diminished or even neutralized. A farmer will plough his ground, fertilise it and sometimes he will even grow a crop, just to be ploughed back in for the express purpose of refreshing and redepositing minerals and elements that have been depleted through continual use.

If you have lowered your standards today, if your dreams have been stolen from you, if you feel depleted today, let me encourage you.

First - lift up again the standard of excellence, be determined to give life your best effort and expect life’s best back in return.
Keep moving forward; don’t settle for anything unacceptable.
When the desire comes, it is a tree of life (Proverbs 13 v12), keep pushing forward towards your dreams and practice the Praising Principle.

Remember, your best is yet to come.

Take Another Drink

If you are thirsty and dry, lift your hands to the sky and worship the King. Rain doesn’t fall, gravity pulls it down. It is your passion and it is your hunger that draws God to you. Psalm 72:6 says “He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.” Mown grass speaks of a prepared and maintained field, it is ready.

When you give out continually, you can get dry yourself. The more you minister the more you need to be ministered too. If you constantly give water out, you need to go back to the source and be refreshed and refilled. Psalm 72:19 “And blessed be His glorious name forever and let the whole earth be filled with His glory, amen and amen.” Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

When you pray, watch out for both hasty words and too many words (Mat 6:7). The secret of acceptable praying is a prepared heart (Ps 141:1-2) because the mouth speaks what the heart contains (Mat 12:34). If we pray only to impress people, we will not get through to God. The author of Pilgrim’s Progress, John Bunyan, wrote. “In prayer, it is better to have a heart without words, than words without a heart.”

Ecc 5:2 “Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.”

If you are born once, you will die twice. If you are born twice you will die once.

Wow! Think about this, the bible says you must be born again or you will never get to see the Kingdom of God (John 3v3).

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”.

Jesus said in John 3v5 “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water (natural birth) and of the Spirit (spiritual rebirth), he cannot enter into the kingdom of God”.

John 3v6-7 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not (don’t be amazed or wonder how can this be) that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again”.

Jesus here was speaking about a second birth, not a natural birth, but a spiritual birth. This second birth takes place by the Spirit of God in your heart, your inner being, your spirit man, making you born again.

John 3v16 “For God so loved (God is a God of love) the world (that’s you, me, everybody, everywhere, every time, every race, every colour and creed, the whole world, all people), that he gave (love gives, forgives and always lives, its eternal) his only begotten Son (Jesus, God incarnate in the flesh, Emanuel), that whosoever believeth (entrust your spiritual wellbeing to Christ, have faith) in him should not perish, but have everlasting (never coming to an end) life (the God kind of life)”.

I encourage you today where you are, whatever state or circumstance you are in, give your life to God today. Get born again and live forever!

We must Decrease so He can Increase

“Jesus was the personification of humility in the midst of His unlimited power”.

Our goal should be, to be like our teacher Jesus. In Philipines 2v5-9, we learn that Jesus made himself of no reputation but took on Himself the form of a servant. He humbled Himself and became obedient (He became obedient, it was not automatic) unto death, even the death of the cross. Luke 14v27 says “And whosoever does not bear his cross and come [or go] after Jesus, cannot be His Disciple”.

Jesus emptied Himself, we must empty our self and get full of Him. John the Baptise said “I must decrease, while He increases”. We must decrease so He can increase in us. A disciple is a disciplined follower; it takes discipline to be a disciple, that’s delayed gratification.

Isaiah 8v16 : “Bind up the testimony; seal the law among my disciples”. The Hebrew word for disciple means: one who is instructed, accustomed, learned, taught and used. In the Greek it means “A learner”, one who is permeated or soaked with the knowledge of Christ and from this comes into understanding of Him. In Mathew 10v16 is says that Disciples were to be shrewd and innocent. Shrewd means wise, thoughtful (full of thoughts of God and considerate). They were to be discreet implying a cautious character. To go forward with wisdom and to be led by the Spirit of God.

God’s Spirit Knows – Look Before You Leap

The Holy Spirit knows how to get you there safer and faster, there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end there of is destruction. The word says in Psalm 37:23, “the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord”, notice it says steps not leaps.

When I was young my mum always told me look before you leap, and so when it came to jumping into lakes and rivers, I have always heeded this helpful piece of advice. Yet sorry to say I have not always applied this wisdom to all of life and as such have had to at times learn the hard way. Sometimes I have jumped into relationships, business decisions and other things only to regret that I did not look before I leaped.

You may want to get to where you are going as fast as you can but if you are not using Gods wisdom waiting on Him and doing it His way, you could be headed for a crash. My prayer for you today is this, pray and agree with me;

“Lord I thank you for the leading of the Holy Spirit in my friends life. Forgive us where we have wasted time and money and energy doing things our way. Holy Spirit be our guide today, please step into our lives and lead us one step at a time into the wonderful things you have planed and have in store for us. Please be our guide, our teacher, comforter and friend. Thankyou Father in Jesus name for providing us with this wonderful guide and friend, the Holy Spirit. Lord we open up ourselves in Jesus name to receive your wisdom and divine guidance for we know you have a plan for our lives and our best interests at heart. In Jesus Name, AMEN!”

Now remember to look before you leap, you may not like what you are going to land your self up in.
