If my simple research is correct it was first produced in 1982 to work with a HP 86A computer (which had none) . It is a single sided 5 1/4" floppy drive holding an fantastic 270K.

Currently I have this 9130A up for auction on eBay for a starting bid of 19.99 (shipping extra).

I have resently purchased 5 or 6 boxes of vintage computer and/or HP (Hewlett Packard) stuff - and it will be listed as time permits on eBay and/or at www.FiveStarGeneralStore.Com .

If you would like to check this drive out better - go to :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:31&item=180002095223
www.fivestargeneralstore.com

Sometimes a person runs across a real neat item -- this is a 1924 electrical supply catalog for the Fobes Supply Company that had warehouses in Portland, Oregon San Francisco, California Seattle, Washington Oakland,California

This is Catalog Number 21 printed in 1924 It is hard bound, 621 pages, illustrated with index. this is NOT a repro book -

A fantastic reference source for collectors, restorers, that need or want a ORIGINAL catalog of many many items that now , over 80 years later need access to drawings, stock numbers, descriptions of things such as:
Household appliances, Electric ranges, water heaters, heaters, hair dryers, (quack) Medical machines, home wiring, plugs, sockets, lamps, knob-and-tube wiring. insulators and crossarms, bolts, tools, blow torches, fuses, switches, lamps, floodlights, street lamps, reflectors, fish paper, fans, motors, gauges, bells, telephones, telegraph keys, power pole hardware, wire, conduit, electrical boxes and more

To what I have read Fobes Supply Company had a electrical wholesale warehouse at 558-560 First Avenue South in Seattle, Washington . This is an area near Qwest Field and near the Alaska Way Viaduct. This is in an area of recent earthquake damaged buildings. I am not sure what happened to the company but records of earthquake damages still list this address as "Fobes" Company started in 1902 and had at one time 3 other warehouses .

If you can relate some more history here - please comment -- I would like to know more about the comapany and its history . I read one blog that stated a unique way it was aquired.

If you would like to bid on this book and see other photos of the pages -- look at this link

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:31&item=180001397336

If you need more info on its coverage contact me at

info@fivestargeneralstore.com

If you wish to check out our growing online resale store

www.FiveStarGeneralStore.Com

Feel free to join our free bullitin board - place free ads etc

http://www.fivestargeneralstore.com/phpBB2/index.php
www.fivestargeneralstore.com

This Weeks Most Viewed Item .......... is a SITE !!!!!

Well this week I found a real impressive site ... so impressive that everybody selling merchandise needs to know about it . The site is
http://www.shopwiki.com/ and if you are shopping for something give it a try.

I submitted my site www.FiveStarGeneralStore.Com and within 24 hrs the listings and thumbnails they were neatly listed on the Shop Wiki site ... These people have a great idea and they MAKE it work. Never fails to amuse me how some people out there come up with this stuff.

Froogle or Google Base is neat but so dang touchy on the upload or feed files -- Shop Wiki took all the pain out of this hassle. As a new website, getting traffic can be rather difficult due to the size of the internet and the rate that it expands – Its really easy to get lost in there all of the sites.

First off I would like to give credit to the following sites as they have sent the greater percentage of traffic to my site… done at no charge !!!

These sites are not in any real order – they are all did us a real nice job in getting me traffic I need – If you are in the same position as we are – take a look at what they have to offer – all excellent sites and excellent people to work for

http://www.thriftyplanet.com/

http://www.htoshmatov.com/

http://resale.net/

http://washington.uscity.net/

http://www.trafficswarm.com/

http://www.hitsafari.com/

Please don’t think I have forgotten about all the others people / sites that send me traffic – I am grateful to them also.

We have added a forum / bulletin board also – People are welcome to ask “ON TOPIC” questions on questions about antiques, collectables, used merchandise, request information, post “for sale” and “items wanted” – If its related to used, secondhand, vintage, antiques, collectables and sites covering these areas – feel free to take a look and sign up if you wish – Please visit at this link below.

http://www.fivestargeneralstore.com/phpBB2/index.php

http://www.fivestargeneralstore.com/

Email us at: info@fivestargeneralstore.com
www.fivestargeneralstore.com

This weeks most viewed item is a used valve body removed from a 1994 Chrysler Lebaron 3.0L. First off let me say that (while many rebuilding DO NOT) it is my opinion any major work / rebuild on any auto transmission or transaxles should have a proper disassembly and cleaning AND a shift kit (or rebuilt VB installed)--as I say this in my opinion.

I have worked on many transmissions with a fresh rebuild that shifted very sloppy- gliding shifts - incorrect shift points etc - and removed and cleaned the valve body and installed a NAME BRAND shift kit and they shifted beautiful !!! Think about it a slip/slide shift is just like riding the cluch in a manual -- makes things wear faster / feels wrongs / developes more heats , etc etc etc ..

Seems like some shops like to sell low cost rebuilds and you can save some time in this area - might think of that when you get two bids that have some variance in price --You get what you pay for .

This is a simple valve body to disassembly and clean -- Just work in a very clean area / with clean tools and don't be in a big hurry -- If you are a newcomer to doing this --a digital camera and exploded views are great .

Also on a Ultraglide / A604 / 41TE there are valve body variations so do your home work - This is definitely a valve body that you don't slap into whatever A604 you have. Know what you have and know what fits what -- The A604 is a transaxle with LOTs of revisions and updates

If you want to look at this VB it is at --

http://www.fivestargeneralstore.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=77

It is used and will need to be cleaned -- do yourself a favor by installing a shift kit in it at the same time AND using the correct fluid

ATRA is a excellent supplier of info -- check them out on the booklets and videos
www.fivestargeneralstore.com

This weeks most looked at item is the M. All the notes work –what a deal –

After this week the price WILL go up !!!! My earlier attempts to install dollar store digital clocks with that double sided foam tape didn’t work well at all. I usually found it an hour after installing it on the floor of the car in the hot summer months with bits of sand , dead flys, stink bugs, and grass stuck to the tape. Usually finding one that stuck well meant that it would work exactly one week then the segments would die and 8:00 would read E:00 and display various segments and then after one week be “dead”

It is rather surprising how the entire clock would cost 1.00 while the battery alone was 1.59. No way was I to lay out 3.99 for a good one. This one for two bucks seemed "neat" - untill I figured out it is a little more work to wire into the car power than to buy a battery -- Not a large task by any means ...Anyway getting back on track …since the interest of this clock (lookers but no buyers) I decided to find out or tell a little more about it.

It’s hard to see in the picture but the lady running the garage sale just “had” to directly write 2.00 on the hanger tab and in ink no less . She was one of those with a bee-hive hairdoo , chewing gum and wore an apron colored green to collect the money and topped with a visor hat and was “everyplace” at once and “everything” you touched she would announce what it was. Such as – "That’s a digital clock – you can put it in your car – it uses the cars' battery for power “. So when I paid her for it I told her “That’s a dollar bill – It’s money – you can spend it at the grocery store”

The clock still has that “fake” vinyl on the face of it saying 6:28 – so one could say it’s correct at least twice in a 24 hr time period. It has the “Sears” logo on it and has all the packing – I figured she bought it for her car and never got around to installing it either. It is real neat how the box says “CAR CLOCK CAR CLOCK” over and over on the box – graphic design at its finest. The hanger tab has D>28 and MY> 2083 --Hmmm it looks like late 70 or 80’s stuff to me –could it be this stand for 1983 – – I was thinking maybe 20/28/1983 but forgot there are only month 20 has only 27 days.Otherwise on the back of the package they show that you can put it in various places in your car – On top of dash , On dash and under dash – all look rather out of place to me – I can only imagine where people would have put it without this info – maybe trunk , rear deck or in the glove box.

Anyway all things said these things “needs” to be wired into the cars electrical system – I tried to find one searching thru Google – Seems that the ones that need to be wired to the vehicle are not that common – So it defiantly is vintage in my book – Just think of all the battery money you will save.
www.fivestargeneralstore.com

This weeks most viewed item is a music book of 60's hits and has the name "Bugs Bower" on it.

I had never heard of this name before so I set out trying to find out who this man is or was. Seems a lot of music books have his name on them. All being instruction type or music collection.

Actually his real name is Maurice Bower. Looking for him on the internet will bring up loads of music books with his name on them . However his bio or history on this man is really lacking .
