I am proud to announce my new ebook - Build Your List with Ease.

This book began as an email series. It has changed a bit from the original series, but the basics remain - all you need to build your list, without spending money, having your own website or being technically savvy. This includes a couple of free autoresponders, free tools for making your own splash pages and squeeze pages, a free email series to help you build your own list, and complete instructions for how to put it all together.

All the gurus will tell you to build your list, but not too many of them will give you the nuts and bolts of how to do it. This book bridges that gap.

Build Your List with Ease can be had for free, but there is also a very cheap ($9.97) one time offer to rebrand with your own links.

Free People Search - making money 5 ways

Well, I've signed up for my own people search engine. It seems like a workable idea.

People searches are a large proportion of all searches online, so Tissa Godavitarne, the clever guy behind this system, has harnessed the concept and turned it into an affiliate income machine.

You can sign up for free and get your search engine going immediately. Just add your ClickBank, Reunion and HD Publishing id's to your back office and your are in business. These links are used to sell paid searches, which some searchers will opt in for if the free search doesn't do it for them.

You can then take things to the next level by entering your Global Domains International (GDI) referral id, and your adsense codes. This allows you to host your own search engine, with it's own name, and to show adsense ads on the search results pages.

Step 3 is to sign up for 1 month of free advertising of your link. At that point you will get $125 put into your commissions account, and hopefully, by the end of the month, you will have $200 or more in there and be able to take it out.

Team Orangemoon - encouragement for the struggling internet marketer!

Internet marketing can be quite the challenge, and after you've tried and failed at too many things, it can make you cynical and weary. Luckily, programs do come along which truly work with ease for their members, and Team Orangemoon is one of them. I have found great encouragement here, and made money as well.

The Team Orangemoon concept is simple - you get a lot of people together, and everyone joins the same matrix program at the same time, from the team link. Those who get into the bottom of the matrix get first place in the internal matrix (or benefactor program), which was set up especially to help members earn funds for future investment (though you can take your profits out at any time, and use them for whatever you want without restrictions.)

The joys of building a list

I am so happy to be building my lists. Finally, I've got a way to tie together everything which I am promoting, and to present it to people in a sensible way which can help them.

My first list is called "You have the Power - make money your way and be financially free". It shows people how to get their confidence back in online marketing, especially if all they've done is spend money and go broke trying. I've had one appreciative email already, which was a real boost.

My second list is called "Build your list with ease". I show people how to set up their first list in 4 easy steps, using free resources. After all, you can always switch to expensive paid resources when you can afford it, but in the meantime you are making some money and, perhaps even more importantly, learning by doing.

Now, back to promoting!

Internet Marketing Success Formula

Since I'm building my first list, it was great to find Soren Jordansen's Internet Marketing Success Formula. It's a step-by-step guide to making money online, and covers many topics of interest, beginning with a brief (but very meaningful) analysis of who the typical internet marketer is, based on surveys he conducted. Since this is my main market, I need to know this stuff! Soren goes on to explain how to build a list, drive traffic to your squeeze pages, and much more at a level of detail which is very helpful and clear.

You can download the book for free, but if you take the one-time-offer you will get rebranding rights, which could be very useful as he has a lot of links in the book. Of course, you can apply the information without signing up for all his programs. The book is valuable either way.

I'm building my list!

After all these months of promoting affiliate links, I've finally taken the advice of the experts and am branding myself and building my list.

I was going to become a mentor but decided that's a bit ambitious for my first launch, so I've started with a series of free emails to empower people who are broke and have just about given up on network marketing.

A lot has gone into the preparation, including the building of a Wordpress blog called You have the power - make money your way and be financially free. The hardest thing was to come up with my unique offering. It had to be something which I understood well and could offer honestly, and I wanted everything which I offer to be available for free.

I launched yesterday, and have my first signup already. I feel really jazzed!

I'm finally on the right track...

It's been a while since I've posted. I've been having a rethink, and finding my balance in all this frenzy of internet hope and hype.

My first exposure to internet marketing was on Yuwie (the social network). Someone told me about GDI, and I felt interested and signed up. Then I tried out a few other things, as this blog will attest... and worked very hard at promoting all of them.

At some point I realized that I've just been promoting stuff, and trying new stuff, and not really making any money. My first real profits came with 3 Hour Profits, but I don't really have the temperament to repeatedly post classified ads, so I kind of faltered with that... (I think it's a good program if you've got self discipline or don't mind repetitive work).

I decided to take another look at paid-to-click (ptc) programs. Originally I was introduced to them at the low end of the range where they pay a measly 1/10 of a cent per click, and that really put me off. Since then I have found many which pay 1 cent per click, and if I do 10 or so at a time, it's ok. I won't get rich from ptc, but they will give me money to put into my other online ventures, such as passive programs. I'm expecting to show a profit this month, yay! Then I found E-tradeXchange, an advertising program which provides revenue sharing. A $5 ad pack gives me many link, banner and text exposures and pays me back $8.75. I think they do it by selling advertising to non-members, and then sharing the profits, though they keep some for the company so that it can continue to grow. My ads are being shown in all sorts of places which I just couldn't get to myself (as I can see from tracking them for free with ViralUrl). I will write up my results when my first ad pack matures.

It is such a relief to finally be making money. A lot of my stress is gone. I'll build up my ptc downlines and income, and use the money to promote other programs or products when I can do so with ease.

Rotate your own banners on your blog or site or social network profile

Banners on your blog or website need to refresh and change so that visitors don't keep seeing the same one all the time. If you are displaying your banners on a social network such as Yuwie, you really don't want to get too blatant and have too many of them, or you'll get your profile shut down for abuse of TOS. The answer is to rotate your banners.

What's the best way to rotate banners on your blog, website, profile or traffic exchange? Use a banner rotator, of course!

My preferred rotator is Banner Keyring. Free members get 3 "keyrings" or rotators, with 5 banners each, plus basic statistics (number of clicks, number of times each banner was displayed). Premium members get unlimited keyrings and banners and really excellent statistics, as well as other goodies.

Set up all your banners here, then display them using your Banner Keyring codes which look just like the codes you would use for an individual banner. Most traffic exchanges have no problem with Banner Keyring banners.

If you change your mind about which banners you want to use in your promotions, simply change them in one place, at Banner Keyring, and that will be reflected everywhere that you display your banners.

A shift in my perception

I've been earnestly promoting all sorts of business opportunities which look sound and worthy, and yet I've had very little success considering all the hours I've put in.

This made me wonder about what was actually going on, and I realized a few things:

1. Nobody actually wants a "business opportunity" - what we all want is the money and the freedom to do what we want. We accept the "opportunity" because we believe it will give us some sort of shortcut to achieving our dreams. Now this might seem like a very small distinction, but to me this little kernel of truth is a very important and fundamental idea because it affects the way I choose what I will promote and participate in.

2. I realized that for some reason, I felt that I had to really work at a program to get useful results, so I just dismissed those programs which promised to give me something just for participating. What if they are not all crap? What if I can press the "easy" button for a change?

3. I've been so obsessed with promoting these great products which are supposed to bring me financial bliss that I have put my creative projects very much on the back burner, and yet it is these creative projects which are more likely to actually get me real money in the long run, as they are unique and useful in their own niches. Not to mention, they are a whole lot more fun!

So, as these thoughts were gelling in my mind, I began to see the opportunities before me differently. Suddenly I found that "easy" opportunities were in my face all over the place. I chose one called Gorilla Millions, and my downlines are growing before my eyes! I'm not saying that Gorilla Millions is the holy grail, but so far it is looking really, really nice!

A gift from Google Adwords helped my SpiderWeb business

The SpiderWeb Marketing System is meant to take 5 minutes a day to promote. That's if you can afford the Google adwords, otherwise you must resort to clicking on the traffic exchanges or using safelists. I followed the SpiderWeb setup videos with interest and set up my Google adwords campaign, but did not activate it due to lack of funds. So, the campaign sat there until one day last week when I got a phonecall from Google Australia! They wanted to know why I hadn't activated my campaign, if there was anything they could do to help, and if I'd like a free credit of $50! Well yes! So now my campaign is launched, I've used about $29 of the credit, and I've got 8 new signups which comes to a total of 17 referrals. Adwords really works, I'll be using them as much as possible from now on.

Well, I'm happy! It took about 5500 exposures of my CyberWheelers pages to get my first signup, and now they're rolling in rapidly.

It takes a day or two to set up CyberWheelers correctly, as you've got to sign up with the different traffic exchanges and put your links in the directory, but after that it's easy going. I've got signups in a dozen or so traffic exchanges from each of these wonderful people already, and one day they'll have time to check out the special program which CyberWheelers recommends for funding your advertising and maybe they'll join that too.

Building traffic exchange downlines - not so easy!

I realized early on that I need downlines in the traffic exchanges to get enough credits. Sometimes, my credits earned are used up before I've even finished surfing.

I've been promoting the highly recommended Traffic Hoopla, which has resulted in about three referrals. I'd like a better result than that! Something about it just doesn't grab people, even though it is a good and useful system.

The new Marketing Resource Center is going ok. Two referrals so far.

My best and newest find is CyberWheelers, which promotes all the best traffic exchanges and Traffic Hoopla as well. It makes a list of all your traffic exchange surf links, making it easy to sign in to all of them with tabbed browsing, and it has a variety of pages which you can advertise with. Nice system!

Was I hasty in dismissing Online Business Alliance as a dud?

I'm having second thoughts here. I've seen so many positive reports on OBA, and I really like the atmosphere in the back office. The people are genuinely friendly and helpful, it feels good to be there.

In the meantime I have learned that it is much easier to promote a product which helps many online marketers, than to promote a business opportunity directly. Perhaps I've been comparing apples with oranges.

For example, I had no problem getting signups for PayitForward4Profits, Marketing Resource Center, and SpiderWeb, all of which are tools for building downlines and residual income in several programs.

I'll give OBA another chance, but this time I will be promoting it indirectly with CyberWheelers, which is a traffic exchange downline builder and very useful for any online marketer.

Reality Networkers, growing quietly in the background

Months ago, I joined Reality Networkers. This is a team-building network, where you build a team to take into any program of your choice. You then have a group of solid and reliable entrepreneurs under you, and the dead wood has been weeded out!

My downlines at Reality Networkers have been growing steadily, with not too much effort on my part. People can readily see the value in the program.

I am waiting for my first level of 5 to become "active", which means they have each brought in at least 5 people and paid their $25 fee. At that point I will get a small commission, and we'll keep working to build my team.

Progress report on the SpiderWeb system

It's been about a month now and I've got four people signed up with the SpiderWeb Marketing System. I am confident that more will be joining them soon.

It took a while to set up the system, following the video tutorials. Once that was set up it was simple to promote. My computer was at the repair shop for a while, which set me back.

To make the most of the time-saving features of SpiderWeb you need to buy Google ads. I've been doing without that feature due to lack of funds, just advertising on the traffic exchanges. Now I've found a couple of other places to advertise and I expect to have a much better downline to report very soon.

Just moved from IE7 to Firefox, and Wow!

Firefox is great!

I resisted for a long time, thinking there would be hassles in changing over from IE7. Well, there were no hassles, and the benefits are great, I'm still smiling!

Firefox remembers passwords. It remembers and can reload all the tabs you had open last time you worked. For surfing traffic exchanges it is a lot smoother as it blocks more of the pop-ups. I'm sure it does other great stuff which I have yet to discover, but these things alone make it worth having.
