Can't hold back my joy to wish you a happy birthday Malaysia. You are not 50 years old yet. You are young.

Just hold it there, when the next governemnt change, they will return the justice to you and unit the East and West Malaysians.

I don't regard the 31st Oct is a Malaysia birthday, to the most is the Malaya birthday but it was in the history.

Many arguments come into this. Which is the correct date for your birthday.

Fine, just a word. When a company is formed and the name is changed. Do you consider the old date for the old management or the new date for the management.

So, we had the Federation of Malaya and then Malaysia. So, it is clear that the September 16 is Malaysia's birthday but not the 31st of August.

Australia and USA had the states that joined in later but they don;t change the name, thus it is fine.

If it is too difficult to understand, as aifm, the chinese national radio station why they celebrate the aifm birthday below 5 years old. The radio station was set up more 40 years old. But they have changed the management an the name is called aifm but not radio 5.

Just could not understand the statement made by the Penang State Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh :

“It will be an abuse of human rights if we were to hire
only non-smokers as civil servants. "

Ok, then what about the smokers that infringe the right of non smokers in the public places, does not contribute to the human right.

The most effective way to check the smoking habits and furthermore to instill a good future for the young generations is to stop recuiting the smokers and no pay rise for the smokers.

Now, don't talk rubbish of human right, if you want to talk about the human right issues, what about the homosexuals right in the Penang state?

Smoking civil servants in Penang to receive free nicotine treatment

GEORGE TOWN: Civil servants who smoke are eligible to receive free nicotine treatment provided by the state government in a move to turn Penang into a smoke-free state.
State Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said he hoped to encourage people to quit smoking by starting with civil servants.
“It will be an abuse of human rights if we were to hire only non-smokers as civil servants. To make Penang a smoke-free state, we have to put more effort in encouraging the people to stop smoking.
“Our special committee have approved the plan for all advertisement billboard in Penang to bear the slogan ‘No Plastic Day’ and ‘Penang Smoke-Free’.
“We are in the midst of discussion with the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) to materialise the plan,” he said when contacted Sunday.
On the state’s effort to gazette certain recreational areas as non-smoking zone, Phee said the state was currently waiting for approval from the Health Ministry on the proposed list.
It was reported in July that the state was considering gazetting part of the Gurney Drive promenade as a smoke-free zone to create a greener environment for Penangites and tourists.
Other recreational spots which Phee had proposed earlier were Penang Hill, Penang Botanic Gardens, Mengkuang Dam, Teluk Bahang Dam, Penang National Park in Pantai Acheh, Bukit Panchor State Park, Hutan Lipur Bukit Penara in Balik Pulau, Hutan Lipur Air Itam Dalam in Sungai Dua, Hutan Lipur Malindo in Teluk Bahang, Hutan Lipur Relau and Hutan Lipur Bukit Mertajam.
“We are also looking at restaurants since cleanliness is very important to attract tourists in visiting our restaurants.
“Last week, two Chinese restaurants were closed down and only allowed to reopen after complying with the cleanliness rules within 14 days,” he said.
Phee said a lot of people at the ferry terminal still ignored the no-smoking signs put up and smoke while waiting for the ferry to arrive.
“We are enforcing strict regulation at the terminal and our enforcement officers will conduct checks from time to time to ensure the smoking ban is not flouted,” he said.

But Malaysia has no talent to compose a song for the country. For many years, people of hers have discussed this and the BN government kept quite or too busy counting the corrupting money ?

The song is national anthem.

When Malaysia turned 50, i suggested to look at the flag of the country, why it is so similiar to the America. Is this design meant Malaysia is going to be partner with America ?

Silly isn't it ? after half a century and we still can not do something about, the national anthem, one time the tempo go fast and the next back to the old one.

So, Pakatan, hope u all can do it when u take over, and also the time zone, why cannot have the east and the west?

The kids in the west have to get up so early and the dangers of raping and robbing are there.

Besides, also pay more electricity bill as the light has to on for a longer time.

The joke comes with a Dr. He is none the Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir ,the Perak Menteri Besar. I think he did not read former PM of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, the memoir.

It is sad that the politicians would have to deliver speeches which are related to the event. But nonetheless, the speeches draw lots of jokes.

Just wondering Dr Zambry knows the four languages or not ? Perhaps, he thinks that Chinese language is the easiest language to learn. Thus putting the councillors to learn this language first. A surviving course of 300 phrases is unlike the command of the language.

Now the issue should be seriously consider, perhaps, this is more for Pakatan government. The BN government knows just to follow the wave (mengikut arus).

The language that would provide peace and love, Esperanto should be taught in the school. Obama adminstration knows how effective this language is and now is in the process of formally introducing this language in the school.

Why we need to learn so many languages in fact, we can just have a couple.

I have highlighted the language in the past. I do not like to say it again. But just like to share the short video clip of the late Claude Piron on the language change.

Perak MB wants exco men to learn four languages

IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir has made it compulsory for all his executive councillors to take up four language courses – Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin and even Tamil.
The classes, to be held bi-monthly, was to enable state representatives to better engage the people, he said.
“We started our first Mandarin class two weeks ago.
“Soon we will be starting on the other languages,” he told reporters after launching the 31st National Chinese Independent Schools’ Trilingual Speech Competition at SM Poi Lam here yesterday.
Dr Zambry said all six of his executive councillors, three advisers, an information chief and three ex-officio members would have to take the classes.
“It is very important to learn new languages so that we can connect with the people better.
“We must also not be afraid or be shy to practise speaking the languages that we learn.”
He said by being multilingual, it would be easier for them to speak during functions that required them to converse in languages other than Bahasa Malaysia.
“There is no timeframe to complete the classes. Some may learn faster or have a natural aptitude for language while some may not.
“I do not expect my exco to master the languages immediately but I do encourage them to practise what they’ve learned as much as possible,” he said, adding that the state could later provide similar classes for all state assemblymen.
Dr Zambry also said he had directed all state secretariat staff and government officials to brush up their command of the English language.
“English may not be our mother tongue but the ability to converse in it is critical, especially for those who often deal with people.
“Furthermore, I do not want situations when the wrong words are said or bad pronunciation become a cause for others to laugh.”
Earlier, the speech contest saw 104 students from 52 schools battling it out, with each giving speeches on three topics and in three different languages. It ends today.
At a separate function later, Dr Zambry said the state would set up a body called Bina Upaya Foun-dation to help the hardcore poor in the state by the end of the year.
“The foundation will help single mothers and those without income.”
He said non-governmental organisations and the private sector were welcomed to contribute to the foundation.

Huh, what about those Melayu not in the BN component, are they alive ?

So, those members of bangsa Melayu in PAS, PKR,DAP,GERAKAN are not hidup. SO, these good hearted Malays, doing for the peace of Malaysia are not hidup.

UMNO is created by the Orang Putih to con the Melayu. But the smart Melayu will not be conned into racial issue as what happened throughout the world of British colonies.

Now the biggest thing is not the 15malaysia. It is the PKR man who left the party.

Well, PKR now should admit that in the party has too many rotten apples. Some of them might be taking the opportunities to cash in something when they felt that there were no more things to cash in in the ruling party.Thus they join the PKR.

As someone noted that it is best for the Pakatan to concentrate on the cleaning work, it is the best to flush out all those who are opportunists.

Just like Anwar said, I need friend but not friend of Malays from the UMNO.

I could not understand the oldest university in Malaysia, Univeristi Malaya, could employ this type of people to teach the youngs. Perhaps, with this type of quality, the university is producing more idiots than people, not yet be a scholar.

PETALING JAYA: Those buying alcoholic beverages from convenience stores in Selangor may have to produce their MyKad to show that they are non-Muslims and above the age of 18.
This move is in line with the state government’s decision that convenience stores should practise self-regulation in the sale of alcoholic beverages instead of banning its sale in Muslim-majority areas.
State executive councillor Ronnie Liu said the law prohibited the sale of alcohol to youths below 18 and Muslims, and storekeepers were just doing their part to make sure the law was adhered to.
“It is not that the cashier has the right to ask for your identity card but it is the law that they cannot sell alcohol to these groups and they have to make sure they are not breaking the law.
“The shopkeeper may ask them to show their identity card. Otherwise he might be penalised for selling alcohol to Muslims or the underaged,” he said.
Citing convenience store chain 7-Eleven as an example, he said it was clearly stated that the company would sack employees if they were to sell alcohol to Muslims.
On Muslim employees handling alcoholic drinks, Liu said he was of the opinion that they had a right to be employed as the Federal Constitution is silent on the matter.
“It is okay to work in hotels, airlines and other places where some alcohol is offered, as long as they don’t drink,” he said.

The failed programme --Teaching Maths and Science in English

As many have known that the government, especially the Ministry of Education is controlled by a bunche of people who know how to eat but not to think.

Take a look of it, 6 years since the programme started by Dr M, and 6 years later we still hear the excuse the teacher cannot control the language, so called English, though the terms are not in English, mostly are in Latin and Greek.

What kind of lame excuse, 6 years to master his/her area of content and still cannot do it. If the ministry of Education would issue the warning, who could master the language of content in 3 years have to vacant the seat for the ones who can, be a clerk in the school or a sweeper. I am very sure they will learn it.

Now the silly mininstry is throwing millions of ringgit for the 'teachers' and no result yield. We ask the pupils to yield result but never ask the teachers to do the same too.

It is a rubbish to accept the reason that the results are not good as the teachers are not able to teach in English.

Look at the bilingual system in Thailand.

Besides, do not equate learning Maths and Science in English will improve the English language, which is a wrong concept, however, there is a help.

If giving more periods can ensure the quality and standard of English , let us do it this way, the vice versa, provides more periods of learning for Bahasa Melayu, the rest of the subjects are conducted in English language. Isn't this the feasible way ? If the theory prove to be true.

Use the upper head to think lah.

Leave the government posts if you do not know how to budget your salary

When i read about this report, it shocked me that the government servants almost half of them are rotten apples.

If they know cut the clothes according to the height, they should know that. All proverbs hava that enlighten sayings but the governement servants are so rot that they did not know the values of jimat berjimat.

Why pay the monthly installment when you know you have to pay the interest. No free lunch in the world.

Now Cuepacs is not teaching them a lesson but supporting them to work out of the office. Will the standard of word be maintained when one is over working ?

Not high pay but drive big car,with high cost of furniture sets at home, enjoy the fast food in the shopping mall.

Fine, they cannot gain more pay, then quit and go to private sectors, why hang on to the government jobs.

Relingush the post and let the more capable and more country loving Malaysians to do the jobs.

KUALA LUMPUR: Heads of ministries and departments should be humane in dealing with civil servants who are in debt, Cuepacs secretary-general Ahmad Shah Mohd Zin said Sunday.
He said this group of workers needed "special attention as they may be vulnerable to corruption and moonlighting."
Almost 450,000 of the civil servants were in debt and their take home salary was less than 40 percent of their monthly pay, he said, adding that the bulk of their salaries was deducted at source as payment for various loans housing, cars, renovations, education and hospitalisation.
Cuepacs' stand was that these officers needed to be "rehabilitated" before any disciplinary action was taken against them, he told Bernama.
"What is happening now is that the heads of department usually find the easy way out by taking disciplinary action, like stopping of increment, denying promotions and suspension from duty, thus aggravating the situation."
Under the General Orders, disciplinary action can be taken against civil servants if their take home salary is less than 40 percent of the gross pay.
Ahmad Shah said there were hundreds of civil servants who were moonlighting as taxi drivers, petty traders, direct sales agents and watchmen to make ends meet.
Although the government was aware of the situation and had taken some positive steps like giving them official permission to work part-time, it was not enough, he said.
"The high cost of living, especially in the urban areas, is eating into their income, thus causing them to be constantly in debt," he added.
Federation of Malaysian Consumer Associations (Fomca) secretary-general Muhammad Shaani Abdullah agreed that the high cost of living was one of the contributory factors for the debts of civil servants.
"It is a myth that civil servants are spendthrifts and don't know how to manage money.
"The truth is that the civil servant's salary has not kept in tandem with the increase in the cost of living," he said."
For example, he said, about 30 years ago one could easily have a good breakfast for RM1.20, but today the same breakfast cost five times more.
However, at the same time, the civil servant's salary had not increased by the same proportion.
Muhammad said that if the government was unable to increase salaries, it could assist these civil servants in many other ways to cope with the rising cost of living.
Some of the areas where it could help were to improve the public transportation system to make it affordable and reliable, provide better medical facilities and more scholarships, open special cooperatives, offer soft loans for housing and other needs and give discounts for utilities. - Bernama
