Thomas "Tom" Heald, 37, Rapid City, died Monday, May 4, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born June 2, 1972, in Rapid City, the son of Jim and Shirley (Johannes) Heald. He grew up in Rapid City and graduated from Stevens High School in 1989. Tom worked with his father as a survey assistant and was a columnist for the Rapid City Weekly. Thomas Allen Heald, Rapid City Weekly News columnist and son of Shirley and Jim Heald of Rapid City, passed away Sunday night. Thomas was a dedicated volunteer at Penn Dem events, a great writer and seeker of truth. We will miss him and extend our sincerest wishes to his family.
