Matthias is on a little odyssey a the moment, so I'm posting for him.

I can only guess what the artist wants to tell us with this picture, but it's definatley in the tradition of the German romantics. I would even dare to say there's a little nod to Caspar David Friedrich recognisable. The sea as a symbol of the longing for the faraway. The person from behind. Maybe Odysseus is missing his sheep?

The original size of this image is 100x80 cm! It is painted with acrylic on canvas. I made three of those tableaus for an art exhibition in hamburg that is taking place on june 1st. Unfortunately it is a little out of place now, for it is more an illustration than classical art. Due to this, "The Bilderwumme" is now my showroom

Every first of may "beetle-maniacs" and "classic Volkswagen enthusiasts" from germany and all over europe come together joining the "Maikäfertreffen" on Hannovers "Messegelände". I had the pleasure to be there, listening to a concert of the typical "Boxersound" and taking a close look to all the fantastic details, shapes, styles and tunings. For all who cares, here's a small visual impression of the show last week.
