I didn't interpret anything mean about the writing at all. I may not fully understand the intent, but I see the complexity of great loss while seeing too that perhaps many Dales die on a given day. Is there not a way to care for all of them? Are we so shallow that we can't understand that each of us feels loss in our own way, yet can understand, and write, of the loss of others with that same understanding? Good job Mike!Johnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25161207.post-64145355071168225362007-02-19T17:28:00.000-05:002007-02-19T17:28:00.000-05:00Also: it's just complicated. And goddamn was I euphoric when he finally won Daytona in '98. You should have seen our living room that day.

But the whole thing is also enormously ridiculous and a little disgusting.

I am still not sure what to do with it.Mike Younghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125676207376106849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25161207.post-13235516211445927602007-02-19T16:48:00.000-05:002007-02-19T16:48:00.000-05:00I liked Dale too!
