For Eminem fans, the four-year wait since the Detroit MC released his last studio album, Encore, has been painful. But according to Dr. Dre’s latest protégé, Bishop Lamont, the end of the drought could be right around the corner. “Em is excited,” Lamont said, according to an Entertainment Weekly blog report. “He’s been quiet too long, and he’s got a lot to get off his chest.” No release date has been set yet for the album, but Em’s label confirmed that he’s in the studio at work on the album. The 35-year-old MC has been on hiatus for the past two-plus years, in part to deal with his emotions about the 2006 death of best friend and fellow D12 member Proof in a bar shooting in Detroit, but Lamont said Slim Shady is emerging from his grief. “He went through what he had to go through, and now he’s been able to take all the pain and stress and put it out in his music.”

Oprah gets criticized a lot by the Hip Hop community, which is somewhat tied to the time Ludacris was on the show for "Crash". 50 Cent later cited Oprah being a show for appealing to older white women.

Although I rarely get to watch her show, I am a big fan of Oprah. Her support of Barack helped sway me into his corner.

Here is what Henry Adaso from About.com has to say about the subject:

"The verbal war against Oprah began after rapper/actor Ludacris complained that Oprah had been unfair to her during an appearance with his "Crash" co-stars on the talk-show. 50 Cent then joined the outcry saying that Oprah "caters to older white women." Oprah responded to 50's outlash during a surprise appearance on Power 105.1FM, revealing that she even has 50 Cent's "In da Club" on her iPod. "I listen to some hip-hop," she told DJ Ed Lover. "You know, I've been accused of not liking hip-hop and that's just not true." She also defended herself by naming Jay-Z and Kanye West as some of her favorite rappers.

This just made me respect Oprah more. She listens to the ROC! So, it appears to me the other rappers are just bummed that Oprah throws the diamonds up.

Guess that answers the "Who You Wit?" question for Hov with respects to O. I sorta had an idea Oprah knew good music. Big ups to Opray Winfrey.

Above are just some of the headlines following JAY-Z's eagerly anticipated performance at the historic Glatsonbury Festival. Controversy and much debate were generated after Noel Gallagher of Oasis spoke against JAY-Z headlining g the traditionally guitar / rock fest. Gallagher was quoted saying, "If it ain't broke don't fix it...I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance. Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music. I'm not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong."

Stated JAY-Z, "These barriers that they have are only put up there to separate us. They are there so people have a way of filing the music but that's not the way kids today listen to music. I listen to all types of music and that's what should happen, that's what the world should be about, mixing culture. There's only good music and bad music."

Shooting down all critics, JAY-Z made history at the sold out Glatsonbury Festival on Saturday, June 28th. With a guitar slung low, JAY-Z entered the stage to the Oasis song "Wonderwall" beforing launching into his smash, "99 Problems."
