WHO IS DROP?
22 year old rapper from North Carolina was born April 2, 1987. He started rapping at age 11 while living in New York’s Capital, Albany. Inspired to MC by the late great Notorious BIG, Drop would hone his skills by studying classics like Ready 2 Die and Life After Death, and freestyling with aspiring mc’s on street corners. Moving back to his hometown ‘Gastonia’ to finish high school, the rapper attended North Carolina A&T State University while following his dreams of becoming a rapstar. First, I am into fashion as much as the next person and also a Kanye West fan, however, I saw this picture and wondered instantly if Kanye had some boy band coming out. I did see this a long time ago and it did not come off to me as being "hip hop". Props to the South Park cats for drawing their episode from this picture. That was some funny stuff. Still a huge Kanye fan and I was going to comment perhaps I have had some bad clothing combinations in the past, but then not quite as "unique" as the the second Kanye posse member from the left.

Thanks to Live Nation, I get to see Jay-Z and Ciara on the 7th at Charter One Pavilion. I have never been to a Hip Hop show, apart from seeing Digable Planets (RIP Ladybug) at a school sponsored thing in Champaign or The Molemen locally, so I am super excited. To see "THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE" at my first Hip Hop concert has made this month just fly by. I almost cannot believe it.

My homie Wordsmith from Nigeria (If any of you know where to get a Range Rover with Lamborghini doors, holla at me so I can connect this MC with what he seeks) told me that seeing Jay-Z performed made a huge impact on his MC'ing career. July 7th cannot get here fast enough. One Eye Up Fam!

The cast of Hangover put their anxieties at ease with comedy, subVariant’s Exception AM aims to soothe a hangover musically

CHICAGO IL--Heather Graham, Zach Galifianakis, Mike Tyson and more star in “Hangover,” opening this Friday, a comedy about piecing together the unbelievable events they blacked out the night before during a bachelor party in Vegas. The cast and events make a hangover seem funny, but anyone who’s had a crazy night of drinking has woken up the next morning doing anything but laughing (although laughing is sort of like…nevermind). Sure, it’s easy to pop some aspirin, rehydrate and muddle through the morning, but wouldn’t it be cool if music could relieve a hangover?

That’s the concept behind Exception AM, a free digital compilation from subVariant that aims to present a collection of electronic music to help you feel better in the morning after a night of drinking. To celebrate the release on June 20, the release party will be held at Ai lounge in River North as the first in a series of concept parties called “Artificial Intelligence.” Liz Revision will mix the mostly-ambient and downtempo tracks from the compilation together at the beginning of the night and will then hand over the decks to local DJs Silentcorp, Andrew Kevins, Dirtybird, and Droopy to finish out the night with techno and house. The party will be free all night from 10pm-3am.
