What if you could decrease your emissions to zero and at the same time save money on gasoline. Sounds too good to be true, right? The fact of the matter is that with proper modification, almost any engine can become more efficient at extracting the most work out of a given amount of fuel. The key to great fuel efficiency and decreased emissions is by augmenting a more complete burn of the gasoline when it enters your engine. How can you do this? Simple, with a modification that derives oxygen and hydrogen from water that is then fed into your engine via the air intake. This is precisely how you can help power your car on water constituents and at the same time help save the environment.

So, how can you use water to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions on your vehicle? First you must understand that water is built of hydrogen and oxygen, two highly flammable gases that are stuck together in stable harmony. When you pass an electrical current through water, water disassociates into hydrogen and oxygen gas. What is the benefit of this in terms of an internal combustion engine? If you know anything about a typical vehicle engine, you will realize that it is powered by a mixture of gasoline and compressed air. If you increased the oxygen content of that air, what do you think would happen? If you guessed the burn rate of the fuel would increase, you would be correct. Interestingly, when you feed oxygen and hydrogen into a gasoline engine, more of the gasoline injected into the chamber is burned, and therefore less gasoline is required to power the vehicle. This translates into fuel savings.
Even better than the increased efficiency is the fact that your car will no longer dump environment destroying pollutants into the atmosphere. This is true simply because usually when gasoline is utilized by an internal combustion engine, much of the gas leaves the combustion chamber unburned simply because there was not enough oxygen to complete the reaction. This residual gasoline is then pumped out of the engine into a catalytic converter and then into the atmosphere. When you have a more efficient burn of the fuel, less fuel is left unburnt leading to increased power per unit fuel and less emissions. A win-win situation!

The Ferrari 575 M Maranello is a two-seat, two-door, grand tourer sports car built by Ferrari. Launched in 2002, it is essentially an updated 550 Maranello featuring minor styling changes from Pininfarina. The 575 M was replaced by the 599 GTB in the first half of 2006.

Updates from the 550 include a renewed interior, but with substantial improvements inside, including bigger brake discs, a larger and more powerful engine, a different weight distribution, refined aerodynamics and fluid-dynamics and an adaptive suspension set-up (the four independent suspensions are also controlled by the gearbox, to minimize pitch throughout the 200-milliseconds shift time). Two six-speed transmissions are available, a conventional manual gearbox and, for the first time on a Ferrari V12, Magneti Marelli's semi-automatic (Sequential manual transmission) 'F1' gearbox. The model number refers to total engine displacement in litres, whilst the 'M' is an abbreviation of 'modificato' or 'modified'.

For 2005, the company developed a new GTC handling package and Superamerica version (a limited run of 559 Retractable hardtop variants of the coupe), along with raising the power from 515 PS (508 hp/379 kW) to 540 PS (533 hp/397 kW)

Maserati GranTurismo is grand tourer produced by Italian automaker Maserati.

It was officially presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007. The GranTurismo is a two-door 2+2 coupé. Many design elements come from the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, which is also a grand tourer.

The engine is the same Ferrari-sourced 4.2-litre (4244 cc) unit which is currently used in the Maserati Coupé, Maserati Spyder, GranSport, Trofeo and Quattroporte, although uprated to a maximum output of 405 hp.

The GranTurismo uses a wet sump and the transmission is located in the front of the vehicle, as opposed to a dry sump and a rear-mounted transmission used on Duo Select models of the Coupé and Quattroporte.

The first appearance of the Audi R8 was in 2006, appearing at auto shows and events all over the world. The R8 is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo platform, as Audi has full ownership of subsidiary Lamborghini S.p.A.. Audi announced in 2005 that the name of the successful Audi R8 race car would be used for a new road car in 2007, the Audi R8, based on the Audi Le Mans quattro concept car, which was based on the earlier Audi RSQ concept vehicle, appearing at the 2003 Geneva Auto Show and 2003 International Motor Show. The R8 was officially launched at the Paris Auto Show on 30 September 2006.

It is equipped with a 4.2 L FSI V8 developing 420 PS (414 hp/309 kW) and 317 lb-ft, the same engine used in the B7 Audi RS4.

The transmission is either a manual gearbox with metal gate, or a "R-tronic" gearbox (single-clutch robotic gearbox). These options are the same that are available on the Lamborghini Gallardo. A double clutch gearbox (DSG, S-tronic) is not currently (as of January 2008) available.
In the production of the Audi R8, 70 workers fit 5000 unique parts by hand - the factory produces 25 cars a day. Ninety-five lasers inspect the entire car in 5 seconds to ensure that over 220 measurements are within 0.1 mm of the programmed plans.

As Audi AG owns Lamborghini (Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.), 15% of the R8 is shared with the Lamborghini Gallardo, including the transmission and chassis. The R8 is made distinct by its exterior styling, cabin, engine, and pricing.

The Audi R8 also features an optional Bang & Olufsen sound system, and Carbon-Ceramic composite brakes with monobloc Brembo calipers on all four wheels.

Pricing for the R8 model starts at around €88,000, although in Ireland, due to high VRT, the base price of the R8 is about €160,000. The base price in the US is $109,000.

BMW M5

The BMW M5, along with the new M6, were designed to use the new SMG III electrohydraulic manual transmission. The transmission, while responsive at the track, has been criticized for its general lack of smoothness in everyday driving.

In October 2006 BMW announced that a 6-speed manual transmission would be available in North America based on suggestions from the motoring press. Unfortunately, this gearbox reduces acceleration performance slightly. The 6-speed manual M5 was marginally slower, since the stability control cannot be disengaged as per the SMG version. The SMG III includes the "Launch Control" feature, which allows maximum performance standing starts automatically. However, the US spec vehicles have a reduced rpm to prevent vehicle damage and abuse.

The M5 features several F1 inspired engine and transmission controls including launch control, dynamic stability control, and the option of changing to either automated or manual as well as the speed at which shifts are completed (there are 11 shift programs in total forming what BMW calls Drivelogic). Manual shifting can be done with either a floor shifter or the steering column-mounted shift paddles (another F1-inspired feature), both of which are fitted to all SMG M5's.

The new 2005-2007 M5 features some of BMW latest innovations including a new head-up display, a new iteration of BMW's EDC (Electronic Damper Control), which constantly adjusts the suspension to environmental and vehicular conditions, and can also be set in three modes, comfort, normal and sport.

BMW M3

The fourth generation BMW M3 was announced on the 2007 Geneva Auto Show (Switzerland, March 6th-18th 2007) with the BMW M3 concept. As was the case with the E46 M3 Concept and E60 M5 Concept, the M3 Concept hid almost nothing of the looks of the production version, that had its world premiere on the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show IAA (Germany, September 13th to 23rd).

Just as the previous M3 generations all introduced a completely new engine, the fourth generation M3 did the same: the BMW S65 engine was introduced. This S65B40 is a naturally aspirated, high revving 4-litre V8 (based on the S85B50 5-litre V10 that powers the E60/E61 M5 and the E63/E64 M6 to date) delivers 420 DIN-hp (309 kW, 414 SAE-hp) at 8,300 rpm and peak torque is 400 Nm (295 ft·lbf) at 3,900 rpm, which represents a power increase of 22% over the E46 M3. The engine weighs 15 kgs (33 lbs) less than the outgoing six cylinder for a total weight of 202 kg (445 lbs).

A six-speed manual transmission is standard. As from April 2008, BMW offers a new double-clutch gearbox, called M-DKG (Doppel-Kupplungs-Getriebe) or M-DCT (Double Clutch Transmission) as an option, which reduces shift pauses to less than a tenth of a second and shortens the car's 0-100 kp/h sprint time by 0.2 seconds vs. the SMG. It features both automatic and manual modes in a manner similar to the SMG gearboxes in the E36 and E46.

The fourth generation M3 is made in 3 different body shapes : the E90 M3 saloon, the E92 M3 coupe and the E93 M3 convertible.

Mercedes Benz S-Class

The latest generation, S-Class, premiered in 2007 as an all-new design. As in previous iterations, the latest S-Class is sold in standard and long wheelbase versions and offers V6, V8, V12, and diesel powertrains.
The W221 is the second consecutive generation of the S-Class to be solely produced in a sedan body style; past two-door coupe models of the S-Class became known as the CL-Class in 1998. Since 2003, the traditionally rear-wheel drive S-Class also offers 4Matic all-wheel drive in some markets. In the U.S., base prices for the W221 S-Class range from $87,475 for the S550, $144,975 for the S600, $127,775 for the S63 AMG and $194,775 for the S65 AMG.

Mercedes Benz has traditionally introduced its safety innovations in the S-Class. For instance, the S-Class was the first car in Europe to incorporate airbags. S-Class safety features include the following innovations in active safety (accident avoidance), passive safety (collision protection), and holistic safety (integration of both active and passive safety features):

* Active safety: ABS braking in 1978 (acts to reduce braking distances and improve stopping control; co-developed with Bosch); traction control and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) in 1995 (improves driver control during difficult road conditions); and Brake Assist (provides full braking power during emergency stops). In 2005, a new infrared night vision feature was introduced (improves visibility during nighttime conditions). Despite the popular misconception, the S-Class was not the first car fitted with ABS braking technology, although some credit can be given for popularizing this now largely standard feature (ABS was initially an option on most models of the W126 S-Class).

* Passive safety: crumple zones in 1957 (vehicle body structure absorbs the force of impact); three-point seatbelts in 1965 (provides additional torso/body protection); collapsible steering column (prevents the steering column from protruding into the cabin during accidents), strengthened occupant cell enhanced occupant protection during severe impacts, rollovers); pre-accident seatbelt tensioning (tightens seatbelts prior to impact), and sandwich platforms (allows the engine the slide under the occupants in a head-on collision).

* PRE-SAFE, Mercedes-Benz's holistic safety feature, was introduced on the S-Class in 2002. PRE-SAFE integrates multiple active and passive safety features for a "safety net" approach to vehicle safety by attempting to prevent accidents; if accidents do occur, PRE-SAFE aims to reduce occupant injury. In the latest version of this pre-collision system, PRE-SAFE will prime the brake assist system, lock the doors to prevent accidental opening during the accident, adjust the seats, close the windows and sunroof, and tighten seatbelts during certain types of collisions. In the event an accident results in a roll over, the "PRE-SAFE" feature unlock the doors and lower the windows approximately one half an inch to allow you to exit or safety workers to gain access easily.
