I did not know exactly how I wanted to depict this series but after sometime and through numerous reworking, I had managed to get the imagery I needed for an illustrious approach. The Series deals loosely on the idea of the Intangible and Human Conscious;</span></span><span style="font-size:100%;"><br /><br /></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/portraitsketch.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px;" src="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/portraitsketch.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-size:100%;"><br />This is not a series on portraits but this one at least began as a self-portrait and sort of evolved into something else. The guy did have my hair at one point in the drawing, but it just didn't feel right for me at the time. When you see the entire series, you should be able to feel the context.</span><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-size:100%;"><br /></span></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/portrait.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px;" src="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/portrait.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-size:100%;"><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">Like most of my work, this came out differently than I thought.</span></span><br /></span><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24810797-116631511812727489?l=www.partisan-hackery.com%2Findex.html'/></div>Alberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10331664046303098839noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24810797.post-1161077102908966552006-10-17T02:19:00.000-07:002006-10-17T12:37:19.206-07:00Feast On TheseSelected spreads from a few of my sketchbooks. And there are many that believe in it in terms of how it can foreshadow one's destiny. It can get disturbing too at times. Who knows what can happen right? I mean yeah, something could happen to me right now as I'm typing this.<br /><br />...But alas it's just me, typing away, anxious about how people will think of this illustration. You see I'm a man of practical worries, not superstitous ones. (I hope) But enough chit chat, here's something that was spawned off the idea.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/superstitionsketch.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px;" src="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/superstitionsketch.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/superstition.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px;" src="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/superstition.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Tomorrow I'm going to have a presentation of my work at the <a href="http://www.bowerypoetry.com/">Bowery Poetry Club</a> for Village Life at 3pm. However, I soon came to feel, and most may agree, that one connects much more to his more recent films. I have now successfully moved to New York City and currently residing in Brooklyn. It was great to explore the city, eat great food, meet artists and designers and to setup ample workspace to begin creating work. So to jumpstart that, here is a new illustration;</span><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/grotesquesketch.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px;" src="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/grotesquesketch.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span style="font-size:100%;">Scottish mythological/folklore creatures called the "Wizard Shackle." Apparently they're supposed to look like leeches that attack any living thing, including humans, that roam around the shallow waters.</span><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.albertkim.com/illustrations/wizard.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px;" src="http://www.albertkim.com/illustrations/wizard.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/grotesque.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px;" src="http://www.albertkim.com/blog/grotesque.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span style="font-size:100%;">I had a tough time dealing with inefficiencies for the past few days. I'm trying to figure out the best possible efficiency when it comes to my work. But anyway, here's the piece. Tell me what you guys think. (Because I don't know if I want to tell you what I think)</span><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24810797-115640189400785986?l=www.partisan-hackery.com%2Findex.html'/></div>Alberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10331664046303098839noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24810797.post-1143448662251603352006-03-26T23:41:00.000-08:002006-03-27T01:10:08.360-08:00The Inauguration<span style=";font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:100%;" >Well now, it looks like the madness has begun.
