Why might an organization consider me to be an excellent candidate for employment if I am coming right out of a university?

Here are a few reasons:

1. I am ambitious, confident, and success-oriented.

2. I do not seek donations from anyone. I have an unimpeachable work ethic and want only the opportunity to earn my salary.

3. I am a fast read, a quick learner. Training time will be minimized and I will be able to begin producing results promptly.

4. I possess the communication skills that are necessary to represent an employer well, to represent myself effectively, and to work well with an employer’s clients. I will be driven, but because I am dedicated to the principles of honesty, integrity and reliability, I will always have my employer’s reputation and best interests at heart as I provide the highest standard of service to the company and to its clients.

5. I can follow directions from an employer to the letter. The boss is the boss; simultaneously, I know that (to the benefit of my employer and company) I can also lead a team that is ambitious, confident and success-oriented.

CAREER OBJECTIVE

A challenging position with an organization that will allow use of my skills acquired as a communication study major at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

My qualifications include not only my training at the University but also my work experience at Spring-Cypress Presbyterian School, Houston Northwest Medical Center, and the Admissions Office of Southwestern University.

In my years of work at the school, I used communication skills to interact with children, parents, students, and administrators. The job taught me perseverance and commitment while strengthening the skills I already possessed in working with a variety of different individuals and personalities.

In my year of volunteer work at the hospital, I further learned how to relate to others, including participants, nurses, doctors, and patients. This job also taught me about compassion as well as strengthening my work ethic. No latitude for tardiness or absenteeism was offered, and the fact that I am prompt and reliable made me a success in that program. Confidentiality was a requirement for work in this job and my admissions work at the university, and my ability to respect that requirement offers further proof of my maturity as well as my ability to follow the demands set forth by those in authority.

In my four years of work as the Assistant to the Senior Associate Director of Admission at Southwestern University, I was able to further my communication skills with prospective students and parents as well as other admission counselors. This job also allowed me to experience a variety of abilities including secretarial, computer, and people skills.
