Celebraaaate!" over the opening notes, then again on the chorus... and that drumbeat breakdown in the middle calls for 100 black rubber bracelets), then works in a riff from "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Unfortunately for Ashlee's sister, though, "A Public Affair" is a regrettable case of the whole not being anywhere near equal to the sum of its parts. Admittedly, I've never been a fan of Jessica's vocal stylings, but here, she sounds breathier and more robotic than ever. Not only that, the lyrics don't even attempt to put a fresh twist on the gal-hits-town-with-pals story. ''All night/let's rock/'cause the party don't stop.'' Seriously, Jess? Seriously?
Of course, maybe it's just me. Perez-Hilton is calling the song "a slice of synth heaven." So click here , listen for yourself, and report back. I await your excited agreement/rageful rebukes with equally breathless anticipation.

Still, here's what I want to know: How come the article makes no mention of the latest (and most baffling) Madonna-related hullabaloo -- girlfriend's inability to score any kind of serious airplay for '' Get Together ,'' the spacey-fabulous third single off Confessions on a Dancefloor ? In my opinion, what Madonna really needs to reivigorate her airplay fortunes is a big-budget video that returns her to the storytelling vibe she favored on ''Take a Bow,'' ''Bad Girl,'' and ''Music.''
How 'bout this for a concept? Madonna as a frustrated Nebraska housewife who begins a passionate extramarital affair with the foxy extraterrestrial (Josh Holloway) she meets during a kinky alien-abduction experience. Am I on to something here, or have you got a better idea? Holla back!
