and as you can see from the 3 photos below, it is in excellent condition and Rob is happy beyond words and so am I and all of his family, friends and PCA'S, who care for him, who now can drive Rob places in comfort and Rob can even ride in the front passenger side where he can now see where he is going and listen to the radio and talk and be heard.

(Ascaris Lumbricoides and Ascaris Suum)

Ascaris are parasitic worms in the intestines of various terrestrial animals, chiefly herbivores. They are typically large worms characterized by a mouth surrounded by three lips. The species Ascaris lumbricoides is probably the most familiar parasite in humans. An almost identical worm, often called A. Suum, occurs in pigs.
The intestinal roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides infection in humans follows the ingestion of Ascaris eggs that have contaminated foods or soil. In the small intestine the larvae are liberated and migrate through the intestinal wall, reaching the lungs, where they may produce a host sensitization that results in lung inflammation and fluid retention. About 10 days later, the larvae pass from the respiratory passages into the digestive tract and mature into egg-producing worms, which grow to some 15 to 40 cm (6 to 16 inches) in length, in the small intestine. Serious, even fatal, complications of ascariasis result from the infiltration of the larvae into sensitive tissues, such as the brain, and from the migration of the adult worms into various body structures where they produce abcesses and toxic manifestations.
Ascariasis exists worldwide and is believed to affect some 660 million persons.

Adult worms live in the lumen of the small intestine. A female may produce up to 240,000 eggs per day, which are passed with the feces . Fertile eggs embryonate and become infective after 18 days to several weeks , depending on the environmental conditions (optimum: moist, warm, shaded soil). After infective eggs are swallowed , the larvae hatch , invade the intestinal mucosa, and are carried via the portal, then systemic circulation to the lungs . The larvae mature further in the lungs (10 to 14 days), penetrate the alveolar walls, ascend the bronchial tree to the throat, and are swallowed . Upon reaching the small intestine, they develop into adult worms . Between 2 and 3 months are required from ingestion of the infective eggs to oviposition by the adult female. Adult worms can live 1 to 2 years

The leaf also acts as a mild laxative, is antihemorrhagic (stops bleeding), is an effective remedy for hemorrhoids, and strengthens weak blood vessels such as spider veins or varicose veins. Persimmon leaf extract and its major flavonoid constituent, astragalin, when taken orally, acts as a natural antihistamine which inhibits the release of histamine and thus helps reduce allergic reactions. (Beware of Chinese Mallow teas which also contain Senna or Cassia angustifolia. Senna is a strong and harsh laxative that should only be taken occasionally because it can create bowel dependency, stomach cramps and headaches. Marsh Mallow (also known as Sweetweed) The Marsh Mallow or Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) was used by the ancient Greeks to remedy bruises and bleeding, and as a mild laxative. Marsh Mallow root and, to a lesser extent, Marsh Mallow leaf both contain significant percentages of mucilage, a natural gummy substance that does not dissolve in water. Like other mucilage-containing substances, Marsh Mallow swells up and becomes slick when it is exposed to fluids. The resulting slippery material coats the linings of the mouth, throat, and stomach to relieve irritation and control coughing associated with respiratory conditions such as smoker's cough. For example, Marsh Mallow has been used to treat sore throats and to alleviate heartburn, and was originally used to make a candy-like medicinal lozenge. Marsh Mallow may also have mild anti-infective, immune-boosting, and diuretic properties. In the British Herbal Compendium the use of Marsh Mallow is listed for gastroenteritis, peptic and duodenal ulcers, colitis, and enteritis. Topically, Marsh Mallow is used to soothe and soften irritated skin, and as a remedy for cuts, wounds, abscesses, boils, burns, and varicose veins. The edible leaves are used as salad greens in France. Blessed Thistle (Cnicus benedictus or Carduus benedictus) has been used in traditional medicine as far back as the early sixteenth century as an appetite stimulant, astringent, blood purifier, choleretic (bile flow stimulant), diaphoretic (sweat stimulant), digestion enhancement, diuretic (increasing urine), expectorant, fever reducer, memory improver, menstrual flow stimulant, and salivation stimulant. It was cultivated in monastery gardens as a cure for smallpox and is named in honor of St. Benedict, the founder of a holy order of monks. It is still used as a flavoring in their Benedictine liqueur. Shakespeare mentioned "distilled Carduus benedictus" in his stage play, Much Ado About Nothing. Blessed Thistle has been used for smallpox, malaria, fever, anorexia, dyspepsia, indigestion, chronic constipation, and flatulence. More recently studies have shown it to be useful for indigestion, heartburn, and poor appetite. Blessed Thistle helps increase appetite in people with digestion or eating disorders such as anorexia (but does not increase the appetite of normal people). In herbal medicine, Blessed Thistle is used for cancer, infections, inflammation, gallbladder disease, jaundice, liver disorders, cervical dysplasia, heart ailments, skin ulcers, yeast infection, and diarrhea. Though it has also been used traditionally to stimulate breast milk flow, it should not be confused with a different milk-stimulating plant called Milk Thistle or Holy Thistle (Silybum marianum).

I'm getting even more stoked about the holy tea. I've had so much feedback from people drinking the tea for the last 4 - 6 mos. Lots of people with fibromyalgia, auto immune disorders, cancer, Chrohns, etc seeing tremendous improvements with drinking the tea over time. Even cataracts and glaucoma clearing up.I've been wondering what it is that works so well in the tea. Then two weeks ago I got my answer… it makes so much sense to me. It is full of negative ions! That explains to me why it is so healthy for everyone and why it so simply pulls out foreign substances from your cells .....the negative ionic charges attach to positively charged molecules (unhealthy acidic waste, toxins, parasites etc) and escort them out of the body, layer by layer. The negative ions act like magnets in attaching to the undesirable positively charged molecules, pulling them out of the cells where they have been stored as waste and simply washing them out of your body.People pay big bucks to get products like this that are full of negative ions. It is so healthy for all ages…..drinking the tea with meals also adds in essential enzymes, minerals, negative ions and an alkaline mix that our body searches for in our food. It then enables the elimination of acidic waste and toxins that have already accumulated in our cells and organs. Remember when introducing this to people for the first time, they need to start gradually. Their body is not used to having such a powerful support and their system may be highly toxic. I am down two full inches off my waist in 15 days and I fully expect to shed another two inches in April. Weight is not important to me - the inches around the waistline are my concern.

Hello Jan Just wanted to give you an update on my experience with the Holy Tea… …it has now been 7 weeks for me on the tea and I am really noticing more and more benefits! I went to see my nutritionist this past Saturday…she uses kinesiology (muscle testing) when checking the various organ systems, skeletal systems, and electrical systems of the body…and selects needed nutrients by muscle testing first… (I saw her in October and I had 18 areas that were challenged…a couple of more than when I had seen here about 4 months prior!) Frequently misunderstood, and too often overlooked and misdiagnosed, thyroid disease affects almost every aspect of health, so understanding more about the thyroid, and the symptoms that occur when something goes wrong with this small gland, can help you protect or regain good health.Women are at the greatest risk, developing thyroid problems seven times more often than men. A woman faces as high as a one in five chance of developing thyroid problems during her lifetime, a risk that increases with age and for those with a family history of thyroid problems. Where is the Thyroid and What Does it Do? Your thyroid is a small bowtie or butterfly-shaped gland, located in your neck, wrapped around the windpipe, behind and below the Adam's Apple area.
The thyroid produces several hormones, of which two are key: triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). These hormones help oxygen get into cells, and make your thyroid the master gland of metabolism.The thyroid has the only cells in the body capable of absorbing iodine. The thyroid takes in iodine, obtained through food, iodized salt, or supplements, and combines it with the amino acid tyrosine. The thyroid then converts the iodine/tyrosine into the hormones T3 and T4. The "3" and the "4" refer to the number of iodine molecules in each thyroid hormone molecule. When it's in good condition, of all the hormone produced by your thyroid, 80% will be T4 and 20% T3. T3 is considered the biologically more active hormone -- the one that actually functions at the cellular level -- and is also considered several times stronger than T4.Once released by the thyroid, the T3 and T4 travel through the bloodstream. The purpose is to help cells convert oxygen and calories into energy. As mentioned, the thyroid produces some T3. But the rest of the T3 needed by the body is actually formed from the mostly inactive T4 by a process sometimes referred to as "T4 to T3 conversion." This conversion of T4 to T3 can take place in some organs other than the thyroid, including the hypothalamus, a part of your brain.The thyroid is part of a huge feedback process. The hypothalamus in the brain releases Thyrotropin-releasing Hormone (TRH). The release of TRH tells the pituitary gland to release Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH). This TSH, circulating in your bloodstream, is what tells the thyroid to make thyroid hormones and release them into your bloodstream. Causes of Thyroid DiseaseWhat causes thyroid problems? There are a variety of factors that can contribute to the development of thyroid problems:
· Exposure to radiation, such as occurred after the Chernobyl nuclear accident
· Overconsumption of isoflavone-intensive soy products, such as soy protein, capsules, and powders
· Some drugs, such as lithium and the heart drug cordarone, can cause hypothyroidism.
· An overconsumption or shortage of iodine in the diet can also trigger some thyroid problems. (This also applies to iodine-containing supplements, such as kelp and bladderwrack.)
· Radiation treatment to my head, neck or chest. Radiation treatment for tonsils, adenoids, lymph nodes, thymus gland problems, or acne
· "Nasal Radium Therapy," which took place during the 1940s through 1960s, as a treatment for tonsillitis, colds and other ailments, or as a military submariner and/or pilot who had trouble with drastic changes in pressure
· Overconsumption of uncooked "goitrogenic" foods, such as brussels sprouts, broccoli, rutabaga, turnips, kohlrabi, radishes, cauliflower, African cassava, millet, babassu, cabbage and kale
· Surgical treatments for thyroid cancer, goiter, or nodules, in which all or part of the thyroid is removed, leave you hypothyroid
· Radioactive iodine treatment (RAI) for Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism typically leave patients hypothyroid

Your thyroid is one of your body's most important glands. When your thyroid doesn't work properly, it can cause you to feel nervous or tired; make your muscles weak; cause weight gain or loss; impair your memory; and affect your menstrual flow. A thyroid disorder can also cause miscarriage and infertility.

Hypothyroidism: When too little TH is released, the body's metabolic rate decreases, and the body slows down. WHILE ON A CRUISE ABOARD THE CELEBRITY GALAXY from February 23 to March 5, 07, I had the pleasure of working on Helene who has BELLS PALSY. The weather did not get rough and the tiny ship was not tossed - actually, it was a 48-foot catamaran. Needless to say, there was also no uncharted desert isle involved.
"Set sail with spirit" is the title of a class that is held by Unity on the River Saturday mornings for at least the next
few weeks. Calling it a "class" may be too much, though. Members of Amesbury church pray, chat, and meditate while theNinth Wave glides harmoniously over the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Or bobs around off Salisbury beach because there is no wind - whatever, the spirit is the same.
"I am the ocean, and I am the sea. I am the spirit, and the spirit is me. Everything opens when I open me." Self-proclaimed "chant goddess" Stephanie Roy led into a period of 10 minutes of (mostly) silence with this chant. It kind of stifles the spirit when a cell phone goes off, but that was only a momentary diversion.
Charles and Myrtle Fillmore founded the Unity church in 1888, in Kansas City. Shipley Allinson founded Unity on the River in 1997, in Newburyport. At the time, Allinson owned a macrobiotic restaurant in the Port called The Rising Sun.
"It was a spiritual community," she says. The community started as a study group in 1994, after Allinson spent five years working with a Unity teacher. "The first time I went to one of her classes, I knew I wanted to do that." Allinson attended Unity school in Missouri and became a Unity minister. The study group evolved from a group of four meeting in Allinson’s home into full-blown services in early 1997. The congregation’s first meeting place was in the basement of the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank. Its first name was Unity of Greater Newburyport. The group later moved to the Masonic Temple for about a year, then found its present home on the Powow River in Amesbury. Hence the name, Unity on the River.
Allinson says she had a dream about the church being connected to the YMCA, which was then located on State Street. "I saw us in that building," she says. The old building burned down on July 15, 1987 - coincidentally, on Allinson’s birthday.
But July 15 was the very date on which the church moved into its home on the Powow, and Allinson saw there was a YMCA in the same plaza. Last Saturday, July 15, was the church’s ninth anniversary.
Not only a restaurateur, she also painted pottery for Paula Estey Designs, worked in home health care, and made outfits for competitive figure skaters, while looking for a career with that spiritual community.
Part of the purpose of the inspired setting aboard the Ninth Wave is to deepen understanding of diverse spiritual practices. Sandra Schriefer provided a spiritual practice on board -- she gave demonstrations of Tong Ren Healing.
The inspiration for the setting came to Jane Thompson-Renzi when she was in church. She is the marketing director for Ninth Wave. "Part of what Jonathan [Van Campen] hired me to do was to do targeted outreach," she said. "It came to me that it would be a wonderful fit." She brought the two sides of her life together, and also gives others the opportunity to commune with our coastal home.
Van Campen says his relationship with the church is a perfect tie-in with his ideals for his charter business. "We try to be sensitive to the environment as much as possible," he says. It is also very family-oriented (both his mother and father worked on the boat while it was being built).
Family is also an important focus at Unity on the River. Robin Clark, full-time director of education and family ministries, says they incorporate the spirituality into all facets of educational programs.
"We are primarily a teaching ministry, so spiritual enrichment classes are a core feature of our ministry," she said. Clark feels she got a jump-start on life because she was born into the Unity Church, in the spring, like a robin. Her mother put her in a Moses basket and on the altar at church every day during Lenten services, the former resident of Chicago says. "That explains why she has an inordinate desire for Easter eggs and Easter bunnies!" Roy exclaimed.
Later in the day, Unity on the River celebrated its ninth year further with a concert by Brooklyn native Nicole Nelson and her band. The church, everyone who goes there will tell you, is all about celebration.
Cheryl Richardson, author of several best sellers, including her latest "The Unmistakable Touch of Grace," will speak at Unity on the River on Sunday, July 23. Richardson, a local resident, is a professional coach and speaker on practical lifestyle tools and has appeared on the Good Morning America and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
"Her philosophy of thinking is very much aligned with Unity’s thinking," Allinson says.
TheNinth Wave is the first commercial sailing vessel to be built in Newburyport in 100 years. It was constructed by Merrimac native Van Campen and two captains in a shop at the Windward Yacht Club and assembled at Merri-Mar Yacht Basin. Van Campen’s early enthusiasm for boat building carried him to an apprenticeship at Lowell’s Boat Shop, which he credits for starting his career.Ninth Wave departs from the commercial wharf in Newburyport. He views his vessel as a large classroom that is also gentle on the environment. The catamaran holds 48 or 49 passengers, depending on how many crew are on board.
"It’s an absolutely terrific trip," Thompson-Renzi says. People who want to join the church on their spiritual tours need not participate in the prayers, members say, just respect them.
The skipper and the mate also welcome everyone aboard - no need to be a professor or a millionaire. Sequined evening gowns are optional.
