My mission would be to change their ridiculous sales tactics! ;-)

Regarding management, I have no idea if they truly understand how annoying the experience is at their stores. They might be purely focused on the bottom line. Ironically, the bottom line should be negatively impacted by their sales tactics and the subsequent negative word of mouth...

GGGlenn Gabehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18353953280089602072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24404743.post-12146228014312256512008-07-31T23:21:00.000-05:002008-07-31T23:21:00.000-05:00Great post, Glenn. When you're in there next time, for counterattack, tell them you know a guy who can make a good sign for them, and if they get 2 signs, the next one is free. :) Seriously, though, does management know that everyone is annoyed at certain tactics they're using? Sounds like they could use your help. Actually, after going through everything I mentioned in my post, I'm sure some customers start throwing money at them to just get out of the store! :)

GGGlenn Gabehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18353953280089602072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24404743.post-37518959251713674892008-07-31T15:20:00.000-05:002008-07-31T15:20:00.000-05:00Hey Glenn... We go down every summer... and every summer, the special for the day is 2 pounds of fudge will get you a free box of salt water taffy! They make it sound like if you don't do it then, you'll miss out on the great savings! My hope is that The Fudge Kitchen will change, so we can all enjoy their product without getting hammered by their sales approach... I guess only time will tell.

Thanks for stopping by.

GGGlenn Gabehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18353953280089602072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24404743.post-52219059114059466322008-07-29T12:46:00.000-05:002008-07-29T12:46:00.000-05:00Glenn, I couldn't agree more. No matter how good their product, I would not return a second time. I purchase great experiences. They are lucky their fudge is that darn good! :) And, the "it's a little over" syndrome just isn't right... I hope they change, but I fear they won't.

Tell me more about the quirky ordering techniques at Pat's or Geno's. I totally agree with you about pushiness, although I get why they insist on it. Being a resort town, I assume their window of opportunity is limited. So they choose to go overboard and get you to leave with an amount of fudge outweighing your children. It's definitely annoying, but in my experience par for the course with seasonal boardwalk vendors.Matt Leonardnoreply@blogger.com
