Exciting News~~! i will be at the Comic Con this year, Table E4 with my friend Mindy Lee~ I will have all my posters & originals(seen in the Beverly Hills Show photo below) with me, and Mindy will be bringing her sketchbooks~!
it's always been the best days of the year for me, and this year would be even better since i am making money instead of spending it... for once. ^___^

Over the long weekend i went to DC in hope of seeing some Dewings at the Freer gallery. It was an expensive trip and really nerdy, but man did i desired it. The time was too short for a real enjoyment of the pieces(had to hit six different museums in 2 1/2 days), but i had taken pictures almost franticly so i can look at them now in leisure. And now i can share some with you too~ Below are pieces by different artists, i might add their names later, but now i better get to bed~ :-)

I lost a night or two sleep over this, not counting all the preparation work that was exhausting, but when it's all over i am really glad i went and did it. Thanks for everyone that came by despite the insanely hot weather!

And a BIG thank you, to the Affaire of the Garden Juries that awarded me the "Best of Show" honor. i was shocked!
Especially Thank you, Mindy~ for helping me out so much and asking for nothing in return~ i will owe u dinners for eternity~ ^____^

I am busily working on the "Web Shop" section right now, from which you could order Giclees or prints of mine. i think by this weekend it will be up and running~ Thank you for visiting! If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to leave them~

Does anyone has Imagine FX's august or september issue from last year? i want to bring my copy to the show but cant find it on my shelf... >____< If someone can lend a hand and scan in the paragraph about my art and send it to me it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the trouble!

i will be bringing some of my semi dry oils and original drawings to the Beverly Hills show. i thought about bringing the Magic Artists' proofs, but decided against it~ Saving that for the good people at the San Diego Comic con, which i will be attending as well, sharing a booth with some friends. ^____^

I am participating in a garden setting art show in the beautiful Beverly hills. It would be my first time attending this type of event, and i am very hyped!! Busy printing Gyclees, archival prints and postcards... I hope everyone that lives in the area could come out and join me for some art, demos, music, wine and sun~~

i like this one quite a bit. too bad i miss the first 3 hours of the pose... .\/.

the finish. a labor of work but really nothing inspiring.

It's been so long since i updated~ Mostly due to the viruses of all sorts swarming around~ First i had to live a whole weekend without my computer(O____O) because it was so "dirty" i had to let a technician reinstall my windows... and then there's that mega strong office flu that just won't go away.... Well you catch my drift.

Work's been pretty busy as well~ i doubt there will be any thing besides these life paintings for my blog for a while. but it's always nice to read the kind remarks you blog travelers make... :D thank you so much for cheering up a sneezing soul~

Being the lazy old me...

Got sick with the flu last week, and just have been tired and lazy ever since... Downloaded some of my old favorite Lucas Art games because of the craving i got for them when i was too sick to do anything else, and can't stop playing them...!
Did you know that Orson Scott Card wrote the dialogues for the Sword fighting Insults in Monkey Island 1???!!! I learn something new every day. :) what a great series!!!! i wish the genre is still around cause it's the only one for me... But then again maybe it's a good thing that it's gone now, so i actually make art sometime~~~

Tend to avoid politics on this blog. But when i see this news i can't help feeling shocked and saddened by the untimely death of the hope that was Pakistan's Civil and Female Rights. i just watched "Persepolis", and thought it should win the academy awards for Best Animation because we can't close our eyes to what kind of world we are living in. it's definitely scarier and bloodier than any Zombie movies i have seen. While struggling to create beauty and harmony in my personal paintings, some other people are doing it on a grander scale to better many people's lives. i can't help but wonder maybe that was why i do art as well. the quiet persuasiveness of beauty and wonder, tho silent but unrelenting, might lure people away from so much blood shed and lives wasted in the names of all things grand but darn right meaningless. At least that's my hope.

Sorry about the rant. Have a great New Year and i hope you all hold truth, beauty, love in your hearts, for darkness is so deep and we all, lose our way sometime.

My camera died in front of a Liepke painting when i visited the gallery a second time~ So i finally gotten some pics of my sunday paintings from last week and this~ OH and i unwisely took these out under the sunlight so the color is off~~ Hummmmm~

Jeremy told me tonight around 10pm that the Previously filled workshop has magically re-open up for two lucky people~! It won't last long so sign up quick!! I am taking his tuesday night workshops right now and he's been an amazing teacher and a great guy to hang around. He went out of his way to fetch me the pen that Liepke signed my book with! ^0^ So trust me, watching and painting along with him is so so worth it.

Liepke's show was hot as hell, as one could have imagined... i plan to go back there and take more pictures as there were too many people on the opening night. Please, do your eyes a favor and go feast on these... He even signed my book~ ^o^

Listening to "Painted Veil" OST. Found videos on Youtube with real people playing the songs instead of music videos. Quite good they are, maybe a bit too fast/slow compare to the soundtrack for me, but nevertheless amazing.

Again from Felini~ Can't tell from my studies, but he really is a freaking genius. Composition, Lighting, Values, Color~ Not mentioning the Story!!! O____O I shall make a note of visiting his grave and pay my respect if i was fortunate to return to Italy...

I think because i tried to harmonize my colors this time i lost my value structure since i was using white way too much. hmmmmmm~ hopefully i can do better next time. (look at color keys from animation...)

Oh and Happy Thanksgiving! ^____^ I hope all the Indian Casinos are rolling in loads of cash right now~ and passing it on to people with at least 1/8 of American Indian blood~ and they can build houses with strong fences that say "Thanks. But no Giving this time".

Drool...Darn. when you have to know how to draw and compose to get a job. i would probably be pedaling shoe laces back then~ :P

just got home after work, so it was a long day. But i do have some film studies. From Akira Kurosawa's Dreams, and Federico Fellini's Satyricon. Two of my favorite directors besides Eisenstein. Yep i am old school~ :)

Big Sam doesn't think my colors are harmonizing enough. He suggested for me to do some still lifes from life. Which is probably what i would do come this weekend. and i also signed up for a Jeremy Lipking workshop~ Fun fun fun~

The Perfume OST

Watched "Beowulf" in the new Arclight Sherman oaks on its opening night, Friday. It's great! The lobby even features costumes and the air thingy from "No country for old man". O___O yeah you know what i mean. The movie was way better than expected. but then again i never expected it to be great. It had a great script thanks to Neil Gaiman, and because i didn't know the story before it was a good surprise.

i kept listening to the OST of "Perfume" this whole week as if i need it to breathe. so i figure i should post it here to get you all addicted as well. Addition's better when everyone's doing it no? :)
