Aracely was not the least bit fazed by her new haircut. The only comment she made was, "it will be easier to wash my hair now". Most describe Aracely as being able to find the party in everything...for Ara, life is song and dance. Nothing brings this "munchkin" down.

Ruthy graduated from high school the end of November. She has worked tremondously hard the past four years. We are SO proud of her! We are working on getting her to the States to further her education and get her cosmetology license. Please pray for her through this process. Congrats Ruthy!! We love you!!!

The transition for the younger girls to their new bilingual school went smoothly. After a full summer of English speaking volunteers and mission teams, the girls were ready for their teachers. They're looking forward to Children's Day on the 10th and marching in the Honduran Independence Day parade on the 15th, with their school.

You were the angels, sent from above and to my side, to hold my hand and encourage my heart through an extremely busy (and blessed) summer. You were the mother to my young children, when I was not near - The example to my older girls, when they needed an answer - The hands of Jesus to the Honduran people, with the compassion and love you brought down.

After much prayer, God has opened up doors for Gaby to attend physical therapy. Gaby has been to therapy twice now and we are hoping to continue the sessions three times a week, at the suggestion of the therapist. Gaby will be working to strengthen muscles in her legs as well as upper body. She is also learning new stretches to practice at home, as her flexibility is quite minimal. Gaby spends most of the appointment laughing and smiling because she enjoys the exercises so much. One of the assistants is bilingual, so Gaby has been showing off her word skills in English…”Jose, come here, come here, walk!”. Her determination and her desire to walk are becoming more evident during the time with the physical therapist. So far they are working mostly on her posture, which she enjoys, but she always asks about getting on the bikes or walking up some stairs. As we were leaving her session today, Gaby says (in Spanish) to her new friends…“Thank you! God Bless you, all of my brothers and sisters in Christ.”

With this blessing come new expenses and purchases that will be beneficial to improving Gaby’s strength, flexibility, and mobility. We would love to send Gaby a full three times a week, but need help with the cost of sessions and transportation. Her lessons are $10 for an hour session. Please contact us if you feel led to support this particular need of the ministry in any way.

On Friday Sarai and Elvira took two of the volunteers, Hillary and Jolene to the University with them in San Pedro Sula. Departing at 5:30am, the girls began the hour long trip to the university, arriving early enough (6:30!) to stop for breakfast at Baleadas Express! Beans, cream, eggs, and an assortment of meat in a huge tortilla. Muy rico!

After breakfast they headed to the university for an hour of Organic Chemistry and 2 hours of Lab.

Sarai and Elvira were quite reluctant to pose in front of the university, in class, and with test tubes in hand...then again, it's not everyday you get TWO GRINGAS following close with cameras ready.

Jolene and Hillary were quite conspicuous...and got many stares from the other students! They were, however, very impressed with the campus, classes and loved meeting Sarai and Elvira's university buddies.

After a quick trip to the mall, the girls headed back to Puerto Cortes on public transit; the long trek costing about $2.

Jolene and Hillary had a fantastic time getting to experience a day in the lives of the university students, and came back with some great stories and pictures!!!
