It covers "today's best advice on prevention, detection, and treatment" of cancer. I have included below two paragraphs from the two page article that I thought readers of this blog could relate to:

Some foods - such as broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables - may have particularly potent anti-cancer properties. But studies that have looked at the cancer-fighting potential of specific nutrients in the form of supplements have yielded almost uniformly disappointing results.

Instead of obsessing about specific foods, nutrients, or supplements, it's best to eat a wide variety of healthful foods. Research continues to document the anti-cancer benefits of a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains, and relatively low in saturated fat, alcohol, and meat. (Consumer Reports on Health volume 20 Number 3 pages 8-9)

If you have read previous articles in my blog, you will quickly see how this information relates to Whole Food Nutrition. The power of fruits and vegetables goes well beyond a balanced diet. Fruits and vegetables are the bodies natural fuel for healing and health. No vitamin or supplement can even compare to the power of fresh, whole food nutrition.

Lisa Hark, PhD, RD wrote an article in the recent issue of Bottom Line Health titled "What Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Nutrition." In the opening paragraph she states "for optimal health, the latest research calls for nine to thirteen servings daily" (of fruits and vegetables). She continues to say "This dietary recommendation is linked to lower rates of serious diseases, such as cancer and heart disease, but few Americans learn about this from their doctors." (Bottom Line Health volume 22 number 3 page 1)

Illness is on a steady rise in America and health costs are going through the roof. Save yourself the medical bills and prescription costs and start taking care of your health the way nature intended. Your body will heal itself as long as you give it the proper nutrition to do so.

Get all the servings of fruits and vegetables that Lisa Hark recommends, get the variety of fruits, vegetables, beans and grains that On Health magazine suggests. Take control of your health and make the decision to do something about it. As I have stated throughout this blog, the most convenient, lifestyle friendly way to get daily whole food nutrition is by consuming The Feast. There simply is no better source of LIVE whole food nutrition than The Feast.

Coryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02215520437262837137noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2406253226128112190.post-75549329795593152472007-12-09T17:50:00.000-05:002008-12-09T11:00:46.460-05:00Flu Shot Season is Here. What to do?As we approach the winter months and temperatures begin to drop, we see the resurgence of the flu and colds. How do you get rid of your cold? How can you prevent yourself from getting a cold?

There are many options for you to consider. You can get a flu shot. You can take over the counter (OTC) medicine or prescribed medicine. You can take synthetic vitamins. You can use antibacterial soaps and lotions repeatedly throughout the day. You can take the miracle cures that many publications recommend. You can even rely on Grandma's secret home remedies. With so many options available to us, why are we all still getting sick?

The medical professionals recommend you get a flu shot to introduce the antibodies into your bloodstream to help you defend against the flu. This is usually the most popular method of defense by Americans. Why is that? You see them recommend it daily on the news, you see signs posted everywhere ("get your flu shots here!"), your job offers it to you and of course your doctor recommends it.

If all these people recommend it, why not get one then? Have you ever asked the person injecting the shot into you what exactly is in the liquid that they are putting into your arm? In all honesty, they probably couldn't answer that. The truth is that most of these vaccines contain cancer causing chemicals such as Formaldehyde and Triton X-100 plus one of the most toxic substances Thimerisol (also know as Mercury). Anyone I ask who gets the flu shot tells me they usually get sick right away (no wonder with all the crap that's in the shot) and typically they still get the bug later on. I am certainly not telling you what to do here but if you are thinking about getting one of these shots, you should do some research on your own first.

I can go through some of the other options I mentioned above but I know your time is valuable so I will get right to the point. I've said this before in previous blog posts, your body is designed to heal itself as long as you give it the proper ingredients to do so. No those ingredients are not flu shots, medicine or lab isolated vitamins. The correct ingredients come from whole food nutrition.

I know this is difficult, but you'll need to put down the holiday cookies and stop eating the fast food junk because you are too busy to cook. Looking for something sweet? Eat a juicy apple. Looking for something filling? Eat a ripe banana. Fruits and vegetables by nature are packed full of the ingredients you need to build a strong immune system to help combat the colds and flus all around you.

Knowing this, why do people still have a tough time with it? Well let's face it. If there is a fudge and chocolate chip brownie on the counter next to an apple, most anyone will choose the brownie. Besides, if you tried to purchase enough fruits and vegetables to consume the recommend daily dose of 5 to 9 servings everyday of the week, it could become quite costly, especially if you try to buy all organic (which I highly recommend).

So what's the solution? First and foremost, try to eat as many live raw whole foods as possible. Try to cut down on your sugar intake as it weakens your immune system (more on that in a future blog post). As I have mentioned before, I believe the most convenient lifestyle friendly way to get your fruit and vegetable nutrition is from a LIVE whole food nutrition source such as The Feast. It truly is the most convenient way to get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables and it tastes great! (Click here to get more information on The Feast).

Coryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02215520437262837137noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2406253226128112190.post-77099460904405802522007-11-17T22:25:00.001-05:002008-12-09T11:00:46.894-05:00Fruits and Vegetables... A Smoker's Best Friend!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kvkfBOkajJE/R1y_5IROq3I/AAAAAAAAAAc/Y3xvYt4FSAg/s200/cigarette.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5142195862743460722" />Public smoking bans are appearing in more establishments across the US on a daily basis. The right to endanger your own lungs publicly is dwindling. One of the main pushing forces of this movement is fear.

The media (with EPA disinformation) does a fairly good job at convincing the public that second hand smoke causes cancer. This instills fear into the non-smokers at the local watering hole as people light up one after another to satisfy their nicotine addiction. This fear leads to massive movement and demand for public policy which in turn has led to this ban on smoking.

Wait a minute. This is a blog about nutrition and "going green" internally. Why does it sound like I am defending smoking as being acceptable?

No, I have not totally lost my mind. I have never been a smoker (thankfully) but I have watched many people become quite sick due to it and have watched some die from it. This article is in no way a pro-smoking publication. Stick with me to the end and you will see the connection.

I have recently read an article listed with the BNET Research Center called EPA caught red-handed on passive smoking. This article tells about how the EPA "had knowingly, willfully, and aggressively disseminated false information".

This article is further supported by the recent death of Dana Reeve, the late Christopher Reeve's wife. She passed away due to lung cancer. She has never smoked and has never been exposed to significant second hand smoke. This leaves the question "what else, other than smoking, causes lung cancer?" This is one question that has the American Cancer society scrambling for answers but begs for more valid research to be done than simply claiming all lung cancer is caused by smoking.

The BNET article also mentioned a website called The Fraser Institute. No, this has nothing to do with Kelsey Grammer. I went to this site and began reading some of the publication samples they have listed under the publications menu. I came across a book called The Misconceptions About the Causes of Cancer (Click the title to visit the link).

In this book (under the misconception 2 link) it states:

"Instead, other environmental factors have been identified in epidemiological studies that are likely to have a major effect on lowering cancer rates: reduction of smoking, improving diet (e.g. increased consumption of fruits and vegetables), hormonal factors (some of which are diet-related), and control of infections."

It's right there in front of you, let it sink in for a minute. An increased consumption of fruits and vegetables is likely to lower cancer rates. That's a powerful statement. How many of you eat fruits and vegetables on a daily basis? How many of you actually get the daily recommended doses of 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables? From reading this blog, you should know by now that the best source of fruits and vegetables comes from Live Whole Food Nutrition.

This book further goes into detail on each of the topics listed in the quote above. Under the smoking subtitle, the book says that "The oxidants in cigarette smoke, mainly nitrogen oxides, deplete the body’s antioxidants. Thus, smokers need to ingest more vitamin C than non-smokers to achieve the same level in blood but they tend not to do so." It continues to say "A recent Danish study indicated that smokers consumed fewer fruits and vegetables than nonsmokers. Additionally, people who take supplements of vitamins and minerals are less likely to be smokers".

If you are a smoker, I support your right to continue smoking if you want to. At the same time, I fully encourage you to stop for the sake of your own health. I also understand it is quite difficult for people to stop smoking. This book at least brings to light that smoking depletes your body of antioxidants and that you most certainly need to do something about replacing them.

It doesn't matter if you are a smoker or not. I will continue to encourage each of you to eat fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, that is why I rely on The Feast to give me the daily nutrition that I need.

Coryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02215520437262837137noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2406253226128112190.post-87362169075486676232007-11-10T16:20:00.000-05:002007-11-10T16:34:38.098-05:00New Look, Same MissionI am striving to make improvements daily to this blog. Check back soon (and often) as I will be including some videos in the blog postings.

I still encourage every one of you to do some research. Google the "dangers in our food supply" or "genetically modified food concerns". That should give you hours and hours of information to sort through and educate yourself on.

You have to start educating yourself on these things. Don't ever believe big business has YOUR best interest in mind when they make decisions. It is all about the money!

Do your own research and frequently visit my blog for more information. My mother was diagnosed with cancer in 1995. I was very close with my mother. She was my best friend. This hit me pretty hard as I had never thought about her mortality before. She did what most other patients would do, she had the surgery to get it removed and followed up with destroying her immune system with chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

I was in college and didn’t know any better. I assumed this was the best thing for her since the doctor’s recommended it. She went through with it and continued to live her life. Then in 2001, she discovered it had spread to a few other parts of her body. This time it was going to be fatal. I began to fall into a depression and then into denial that she was dieing. I continued to live as if I had all the time in the world. I didn’t know how else to deal with it, unfortunately I did not deal with it well. She passed away just before midnight on November 4th. I was a wreck. I was in quite a depression for some time afterwards. I still had my rough days for the next few years.

Then in December of 2005 my father told me that they had found tiny traces of cancer around his prostate. The emotions began again but this time it wasn’t depression, it was FEAR. Both parents had cancer, which means I am doomed. Realizing your own mortality is a difficult thing.

This led me to begin doing research. Not just reading an article here or there in my spare time but dedicating every minute of spare time to research. I would research for 4 to 5 hours a night reading books and visiting websites. What I discovered changed me forever.

Reading about the influence the pharmaceutical companies have over the government, the contamination of our food supply, the destruction or expulsion of inventions that would help society but hurt the pocketbooks of the medical world, the corrupt charity organizations …the list goes on and on.

When I read about numerous cures or natural treatments of cancer that were covered up or banned in the US, I was infuriated. The anger overtook me as I began to think that if I had done some research, I could’ve prolonged, if not saved my mother’s life.

I am not a doctor or medical professional but I do have advice to ALL of you. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! It doesn’t take long to start to uncover the truths about the world and the possible cures that may exist out there.

Did you know that some research shows a tumor is the body’s natural response to cancer in the bloodstream? It is actually the thing that is keeping you alive as it is drawing in all the cancer to it and keeping it from spreading throughout your body. The first thing every doctor wants to do is remove it! Remove your body’s only defense. That way they can tell you they removed the cancerous tumor (but in reality they removed the defense system your body created to save you) and thus allow the cancer in your bloodstream to move freely to other major organs. Than they poison you and break down what’s left of your immune system with chemotherapy and radiation.

Again, this is not my opinion. These are things I have read. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!

During all of my research, I discovered many articles and stories on whole food nutrition. I tried a variety of products in this category and found one that stood out among the rest as the best source of whole food nutrition. The FEAST has changed my life and the life of my family. I am convinced that this is truly the best method of obtaining the nutrition that I need to live a healthy life (don't believe me, do your own research).

I would’ve never done all of this research or found this amazing product if it wasn’t for my mother. I feel she has helped me to lead the healthy life that I have now. I miss her dearly and will always think of her.

To everyone out there who has lost a loved one to cancer, God bless you and keep you. To the government who thinks they can continue to make billions and billions of dollars off of cancer patients, watch out, the American public is waking up.

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH

Coryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02215520437262837137noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2406253226128112190.post-66661059928522605492007-11-05T00:40:00.000-05:002007-11-06T08:57:48.936-05:0010 Good Reasons to Eat Organic Whole FoodsThere are many good reasons all of us should eat organic foods and whole foods. This list is not necessarily the "TOP" 10 reasons, but they are 10 good reasons to eat organic.

#1. TREAT YOUR BODY LIKE A TEMPLE

As I've said before, you are what you eat. Nature designed these fruits and vegetables to provide all creatures with a source of nutrition that no laboratory can recreate. People take isolated vitamins and think they are doing the best thing for their health. In reality, as many studies have shown, when you try to isolate the vitamin from it's whole food source (or worse yet, create the vitamin in a test tube), you cannot come close to the complex biology of the nutrition from an actual plant or other whole food source.

#2. INCREASE AGRICULTURAL DIVERSITY

Eating organic helps preserve thousands of agricultural varieties not accommodated by industrial agriculture.

#3. CREATE BALANCED ECOLOGICAL COMMUNITIES

Growing foods without harsh pesticides allows nature's independent web of life to work together to further build the rich microbial ecosystems found in organic soils.

#4. WE HAVE CHOICES

All the pesticides, herbicides and fungicides go somewhere after agribusiness sprays them on food. They go into our water supply, the air we breathe and thus into our bodies.

#5. AVOID BEING A GENETIC ENGINEERING EXPERIMENT

According to the Center for Food Safety "70 to 75 percent of processed foods contain at least 1 genetically engineered ingredient." Only organic foods offer us the ability to sidestep the risks of genetically engineered food.

#6. CREATE A SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY

It only takes about 10 families eating organic to support one small-scale organic farm.

#7. BLOSSOM THE PLANET

Our farmland is a thin web of living earth blanketing the planet. It needs to be nurtured and protected.

#8. LEAVE A LEGACY FOR OUR CHILDREN

How do we expect to have 7 generations follow us if we do not provide them a healthy future?

#9. MAKE YOUR CONNECTION

You get a tangible and edible relationship with the living Earth every time you eat organic.

#10. YUM!

Top chefs agree that you need great tasting ingredients to make great tasting food.

These are just some of the many reasons to eat organic whole foods. I know there are many more, but let's see what YOU think?

**Post a comment and tell everyone what YOU think is a good reason to eat organic whole foods.**

Anyone who posts a valid response will receive a completely free sample of "The FEAST", the absolute BEST source of whole food nutrition that I have found anywhere.

After you have posted your reason to eat organic whole foods, send me an email (click here) with your name and the address you wish me to send the samples to.

Coryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02215520437262837137noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2406253226128112190.post-90360904106997481592007-10-22T14:21:00.000-04:002007-10-25T17:56:31.298-04:00Nutritional Integrity in Raw Whole Food NutritionWhat is nutritional integrity? Is this something that can be easily measured?

My interpretation of nutritional integrity is defined as the amount of nutrients in a food after it has been processed in some way as compared to the amount of nutrients in the food before it is processed.

All companies who juice produce must pasteurize it which cooks a lot of the nutrients right out of it. Better companies will freeze dry the juice into a powder to avoid pasteurization, however their process of freeze drying can cook the nutrients out of the food too.

Length of time is another factor in the loss of nutritional integrity. Let me explain.

When a fruit or vegetable is fully ripe to be picked, at that very point it is at its highest nutritional value. It is then picked from the plant. The plant is that fruit or vegetable's life force. The minute a fruit or vegetable is disconnected from its' life force, it begins to die. The longer the amount of time goes by, the less nutritional value it has.

Many of the big farms that sell produce to grocery stores (to keep up with demand) pick the fruit or vegetable before it is fully ripe, so right off the back that raw produce does not reach its' peak of nutrition. Of course it then proceeds to die and lose some of the nutritional value it has.

The consumer will find it difficult to determine the nutritional integrity of produce. A few things to look for are raw produce that hasn't ripened yet or raw produce that looks like it has no life left in it. The only scientific way to measure nutritional integrity is in a laboratory.

There is one test the consumer can use to tell the nutritional integrity of something. Judge your bodies reaction to it after it is consumed. If you have no reaction or even worse, you feel tired or sluggish, then that is a good indicator there wasn't much nutritional integrity left in the food you consumed. However, if you consume the food and then feel more energetic, that is a good indication that the nutritional integrity of that food is fully in tact.

This is one of the reasons the raw food diet has become so popular. Eating produce raw helps maintain as many nutrients as possible whereas cooking produce causes nutrient loss.

The product I spoke of in my last post, The Feast, retains a higher content of the naturally occurring live nutrients found in the original fresh raw produce, just as nature intended. The farmer, URI LeBaron, waits until the raw produce is fully ripe. He then picks the fruit and vegetables and within 6 hours from harvest, he runs it through his insta-fresh process which juices it and freeze-dries it into a powder. ALL of the nutrients are now locked in until you add water to the powder and consume it. You feel the energy after you consume The Feast as if you just consumed the fresh produce itself.

This is one of the reasons I highly recommend The Feast. The Feast gives you the government recommended 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. These fruits and vegetables are full of LIFE and your body responds immediately to it.

We are so used to filling our bodies with over processed and overcooked DEAD foods that they have no life left in them. Why do you think energy drinks are flying off the shelves? Your body needs nutrition, not heavy doses of caffeine.

If you are someone who drinks coffee or energy drinks to help you through the day, I strongly recommend you stop filling your body with the sugar and caffeine chemicals and start giving your body what it truly is craving, LIVE whole food nutrition. Again, the best product I have found in 2 years that meets this need is The Feast.

Here I give you the opportunity to sample this product risk free. You won't regret it!

Coryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02215520437262837137noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2406253226128112190.post-48799581172162867932007-10-20T22:08:00.002-04:002008-02-17T16:03:45.979-05:00LIVE Whole Food Nutrition Powder versus Super Juice Drinks
[Note: For this blog, I will compare the ultimate Whole Food Nutrition product that I take daily with the popular variety of liquid Super Juices. The product I take is called The FEAST. In my comparison I will not use specific juice company names.]

Due to recent scientific studies showing the incredible antioxidant and health components of specific berries & fruits, the nutritional market is currently being bombarded by liquid "miracle" products. Each company claims to have the "best" product. So what is the difference between The Feast and the liquid products that seem to be everywhere?

Liquid beverages have many more constraints than powders. A major challenge for liquid supplements is maintaining the small amount of nutritional integrity left in the liquid over time. The Feast retains a higher content of the naturally occurring live nutrients found in the original fresh produce, just as nature intended and as a result provides more nutritional benefit than any liquid product.

Liquid berry products typically contain ingredients from a "juice concentrate" or "puree concentrate". Both are created through the use of heat and/or vacuum. This denatures and compromises the nutritional integrity of the fruit or berry. Additionally, these products may contain as little as 10% of the actual ingredient that the product is being marketed for.

Liquid products are more expensive, particularly when you compare the nutrient content and serving size to The Feast. One jar of The Feast Powder makes approximately 180 ounces of reconstituted liquid juice, which equals 4-5 jars of any of the various liquid products.

98% of the liquid nutritional juice products on the market are pasteurized. The pasteurization process uses high heat to kill bacteria & harmful microorganisms that create food borne illness. Pasteurization reduces the very real risk of pathogenic contamination and health threatening bacteria in liquid juice products but while it appears to be a wonderful thing-in reality it is not. This heat process not only kills the bad bacteria, but it substantially alters or deactivates the majority of good, naturally occurring live nutrients that we consume the fruit or berry for in the first place!

Don't be fooled by words like "flash pasteurization". Pasteurization is just that, a process that always requires heat at a temperature higher than what the majority of live nutrients and enzymes can withstand. Many companies try to smooth-over the pasteurization process by saying that their product has been "fermented". But, in the end, after the fermentation process, pasteurization still must occur.

Many liquid products contain preservatives such as sodium benzoate and/or potassium sorbate. Without preservatives these liquid products could grow bacteria, naturally decompose and become rancid. While preservatives help prolong the shelf life of a liquid product, they are also known to cause a myriad of "mysterious" health problems.

The FDA considers these preservatives "safe" in small amounts, yet anything more than a "small amount" is considered "unsafe & unhealthy". Because the majority of the processed foods we eat contain these same preservatives, it is not "safe" to say that we are getting "small amounts" when you take into account that fact we are consuming these same preservatives on a daily basis throughout our entire lives.

Another commonly used preservative is Ascorbic Acid. Many companies use Ascorbic Acid in their liquid juice supplement for several reasons: To artificially and inexpensively increase ORAC values and Vitamin C label claims; To preserve the product; To try and compensate for the loss of nutrients due to pasteurization.

This concept is known as "overdosing".

Ascorbic acid is a synthetic, man-made version of vitamin C, and is a poor substitute for vitamin C from natural whole food sources. The addition of artificial preservatives and/or synthetic nutrients defeats the purpose of consuming an "all natural health product" in the first place.

Our modern diet is already filled with depleted, over-processed foods. URI International, believes that a natural food product should be just that - natural. The Feast contains all natural, non-pasteurized berry & fruit powders with no preservatives or synthetic additives.

Their proprietary drying process provides much higher concentrations of vital nutrients than any other product on the market. Other companies often just dry whole foods, but we juice them and dry the juice in seconds at temperatures below 100ºF, concentrating it far more than if we merely dried the entire plant and leaves as most other companies do. This process ensures that you get the highest quality product without any extra fillers, preservatives or pasteurization while retaining vital nutrients and live enzymes.

The end result - The Feast is packed with all of the naturally occurring phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.

For optimal health, there's nothing better than nutrient-rich, unprocessed, unpreserved whole live foods in their balanced, natural state like those found in The Feast Powder.

URI understands that in order to provide these remarkable health and anti-aging benefits, all of the nutrients, natural balance and life force found in these fresh fruits & berries, vegetables and greens, nuts, seeds, sprouts, minerals, enzymes and living probiotics must be protected.

The process used to create The Feast maintains the vital live nutrients of the ingredients in their natural synergistic state. The Feast Powder provides a quality & quantity that will never be matched by a synthetic, processed or preserved liquid supplement.

The Feast contains 100% pure, natural whole fruit & berry, vegetable and greens, nuts, seeds, sprouts, minerals, enzymes and living probiotics powders and is a true Whole Food product that produces supreme results.

URI International refuses to compromise and has spared no expense to combine the perfect combination of quality berries & fruits even though many of them are unique and rare.

The Feast is a convenient, delicious way to drink your way to health. URI has raised the bar and produced a perfectly blended, synergistic product that is truly one of a kind, a first in its class-The Feast.

The Feast is the perfect complement to a good, healthy diet and a lifestyle that includes a beneficial exercise program. The Feast is recommended for adults and children who need to increase their servings of fruits and vegetables, and want to significantly improve their overall health, well-being and quality of life.

To sum up, The Feast has superior ingredient quality, it is less expensive, it is not pasteurized, there are no preservatives and they use a proprietary drying process that maintains the nutrients from the fruits and vegetables.

Again, don't take my word for it. In fact, what is an MLM company? Isn't that one of them illegal pyramid scheme deals? Do you have a family member trying to sell you on some MLM product?

These are common concerns to much of the population. MLM stands for Multi Level Marketing. A long time ago, in the 1930s in fact, the first MLM company was created. It too sold supplements like many of these companies do today. The company started out as Nutrilite, but later became the company most people know as Amway. Well over 70 years ago this type of marketing was invented and to this day it is used more than ever. Something must be working if it is still around. If it didn't work, companies would never consider using it.

If it works, then why is there so much debate over it? A few (quite a few) bad apples gave MLM a bad name. They set up their payment plans in a true pyramid fashion. That means that all the money flows up to the top. The top person makes more money than anyone else can. Now that government has cracked down on these companies, the payment plans tend to be fair. Any distributor at any level has the opportunity to make the same amount as someone 5 levels above them.

The other part of MLM that leads to debates and lawsuits are the people, the distributors in the company making false claims to get you to buy their product. While this is completely legal in the car sales industry (well, not completely, but pretty common, if not expected) it is strictly forbidden with MLM companies. It is difficult to control though and can hurt many companies.

Is it all bad? No, absolutely not. In fact, there are many quality companies out there. Keep in mind, most all of the negativity surrounding MLM companies has to do with the marketing of the product, NOT the product itself. Most of these companies have a very good product but cannot afford to market it in traditional ways.

Should you join an MLM company? That's a decision only YOU can make. I have joined various MLM companies through the past 13 years of my life. Some I have regretted and others I am still a member of. URI International is the company I currently am a distributor for (click the link of their name for more info).

Can you make money in an MLM company? If you couldn't, so many people wouldn't join them. However, understand that typically people never do make much money. This is primarily because they either do not have the skills or the drive to achieve the success they want. When I look at signing up distributors, I want someone genuinely interested in trying to create their own business and willing to learn the skills required to do so.

I originally joined because I wanted the products at wholesale prices. After taking them for sometime and sharing them with my family, I realized how good the products made me feel but still was not interested in selling them. Then one day a new co-worker asked me why she has never seen me sick. This is not an odd question because in North East Ohio the climate is very unstable. Monday it was in the high 80s, Friday it was in the low 40s and next week it is suppose to be in the mid 70s. As a result, people in my workplace frequently tend to be sick. I explained to her that my belief is that if you feed the body the nutrition it needs, your body will defend itself from colds and flus. She asked if I take any supplements and I proudly told her about URI products. She asked for more info and then decided to try the products.

About a month later she came up to me and said, "I have to tell you something." She continued, "I wanted to thank you so much for telling me about URI. Not only do I feel great, I can fit into my old jeans. I went down a waist size. My little boy also loves the taste. I was quite surprised." My heart melted. I had helped this new employee that I barely know with her health and she was so thankful for it. It was at that point that I made the decision that I wanted to help people and teach them about nutrition. Being a successful distributor takes more skill than simply liking the product, so I started to study marketing and sales methods. I found the URI company offered many of these tools to me.

To sum up, MLM companies are not as bad as many people think but you have to do your homework. Are they a company with Integrity? Are they making false claims? Do I have the opportunity to make as much money as everyone else? Do I like the product? Would other people want the product? Do they give you the tools or training you need to market the product? Am I proud to say I am a distributor for them?

As far as the products go, MLM companies do tend to sell pretty good products. Do not let me or anyone else tell you what products are the best. Everyone's body is different and every product may affect people in different ways. Try the products and ask yourself "how do they make me feel?" Ultimately that is what is important.

For more info on MLM marketing, you can read the 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing. Here you will find regularly updated information about improving YOUR health by "Going Green" internally.

"Going Green" is one of the latest hot topics in the U.S. thanks in part to Al Gore and his crusade to save the planet. More and more people everyday are making decisions to help improve their environment. It can be a simple change, such as curbside recycling or a larger change like buying a new hybrid vehicle. Any efforts, large or small, are steps in the right direction to improve our body's external environment.

What about our internal environment?

"Going Green" internally should be of equal, if not greater, importance! We pollute our internal environment on a daily basis with processed foods, pesticide ridden produce, hormone injected meats and genetically modified foods. When our body informs us that it cannot take anymore pollution, our immune system slows down with exhaustion and makes us vulnerable to bugs and viruses.

What do you typically do once you get a bug or virus? Instead of giving the body what it has wanted all along, typically people hurry out to the drug stores and buy a product that is designed to cover up the symptoms of the cold. Some will also go see a doctor and get some antibiotics that completely wipe out the bad virus cells (and all the good cells too) which leaves the immune system with no defense against any other infections.

This whole cycle can be avoided by simply giving the body what it wants, a clean and healthy internal environment.

How do you do this? Give your body what it is designed to receive by nature. Feed your internal environment organic, nutrient dense, LIVE whole food nutrition.

A common response I hear is "I cannot afford to eat organic foods." The truth be told, you cannot afford NOT to eat them. Add up the costs of the doctor visits, the prescriptions, the over the counter medicines, the rising health insurance, the boxes of Kleenex, the days of work missed, the tiredness we fill daily ...etc. These are expenses that have all resulted from saving that dollar on the lettuce, that 50 cents on those bananas or that dollar fifty on the cereal.

How much do you spend on that sugar filled latte` each day? How about the daily stops to the vending machines?

You cannot take your health for granted. Start making the right choices with what you eat. Remember the old saying "You are what you eat?" That's a powerful statement. Think about that statement before you consume your next meal.

Coryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02215520437262837137noreply@blogger.com5
