Hey ya'll! This is about a whole week late-in-coming, but we've had DRAMA around my house, so I'm just now posting this super-sweet blog. :)

I have a very faithful reader in North Carolina named Kim. :) I recieved a surprise package in the mail, and that crazy ole Kim had hand-sewn me this very lovely and cool tote bag, complete with my web logo on it! THANK YOU, KIM!!! You did such a beautiful job! Along with the tote came a very cute eyeglass case and change purse, too.

Kim has sent the sweetest of reader emails to me ever since she first read Spirited Away, so I just wanted to thank her (THANK YOU!) for thinking of me. :)

One of the most rewarding things for me (and probably all authors) is to recieve a nice email from a reader who thoroughly enjoyed the story. I personally love hearing from all of you--and the ones who are always so faithful to blog here (even though I'm a TERRIBLE blogger!), I really appreciate that, as well.

I appreciate you guys!

Re: DRAMA at MY HOUSE:

Here's my very cute husband:

Who took my very cute daughter (I didn't get to go):

to the beach, where TEN MINUTES after arriving to the beach and getting into the water, he (husband) stepped on one of these (EEEK!):

And then it jabbed him (husband) with one of these:

OUCH!!!!!

And since they'd ridden the motorcycle to the beach, and husband's foot/leg had swollen so much and the pain was so excruciating, it was almost 7 hours before he made it home and then we spent another 4 hours in the emergency room, digging out barb shards and getting shots in the behind!!!! Ouch!

My daughter told my husband things could have been much worse; he could have come across one of these instead:

YEOW!!!! (One of favorite movies, by the way!)

So thank you, Kim, for the very sweet surprise, and husband--please stop harassing the wildlife!!! ;)

Okay, starting over here! Lol! Not realizing that you guys might all be ENJOYING your Memorial Day instead of sitting inside reading blogs--I'm going to run this poll/contest through tomorrow night. So...cast your vote/opinion!

First off, Happy Memorial Day to everyone! My grandpa and all his brothers were WWII vets--tough as nails and lived to be over 80. Soldiers--now talk about HEROES! :)

Now...I'm in the process of pitching my next story to my editor. I've had several emails from readers asking for Christian of Arrick-by-the-Sea's story--which I set up just a tad in Into Thin Air. :) *sneaky me* Yet I have a few more new ideas that I'm tossing around, as well.

Tell me what you think: Christian of Arrick-by-the-Sea's story, or an introduction to a brand new hero and heroine? :) Unfortunately, I"m not ready to do Jason's story yet (I've had a few requests for him, but he's quite young and although I have a plan for him, it's not ready yet!).

Me in the Deadline Writing Den of Solitude!!!

Well--I'm not in complete solitude. I have Gerry Butler to keep me company! Lol! (see pics below)

Here's me, busy on MacGowan's Ghost! My deadline is NEXT THURSDAY! But I thought I'd take a little break and let you guys in on my last grueling (serious fun!) days of writing.

Yes, my bedroom is cornflower blue. As you can see I got all crazy and painted an arch of morning glories. That was 10 years ago and I just don't have the UMPH! to get to Lowes and change the paint job. Oh well! Maybe someday!

The story board! I've got it propped against my headboard so I can look up, check out my setting pics and slobber over the ones of Gerry.
*slobber slobber* In case I haven't said it enough times, Gerry is "Gabe MacGowan", my hero in MacGowan's Ghost. Dee-lish!

Below is the chair. When I'm on serious deadline I hole up in my bedroom, blinds pulled, doors closed, story board in place, candles lit, and I get in the zone. I finally realized how easily distracted I am! *What should I make for dinner? Where's the cat? I want some grapes. How cold will it get next winter?* (I just described my pal Betsy ALL the time) Anyway. This really helps me focus. Plus, the chair is very hard to get out of. Lol!

Now here is my STAPLES set-up. Lotsa lotsa tea, in a variety of flavors to keep me hyped up and busy drinking! *note the 4 used tea bags on the black caddy. Gross, Cindy!* Next to the tea stuff, the snackage. The grindage. The staples which will get me through the deep, dark corners of Deadlineville. EEEK! *notice how I put the "healthier" stuff in the forefront (ie: Garden Harvest). Snort snort.

Okay Hester, this one's for you. :) My daughter said "just be your self, Mom." :) It wasn't hard! I love that Gerry Butler (ie: Gabe MacGowan). Still slobbering!

So there's a small glimpse of the writingcraze for the week! I'll be in my writingden, 12-14 hours a day until next Thursday. :) I'll probably be SICK of tea with a horrible tummy ache from Skittles and stuff! *snort* See ya'll later!

The Phenomenal James McAvoy

Another FAVORITE ACTOR ALERT!!!!

You've met him before. He had a pair of goat legs. *Faun legs, actually* Mr. Tumnus from the Chronicles of Narnia.

Isn't James McAvoy amazing? A better actor could NOT have portrayed Robbie Turner in ATONEMENT better than this guy. Diverse, can go from faun to Jane Austen's love interest to WWII soldier to ACTION HERO? And perform them all excellently? Yessirreee, Mr. McAvoy is on the TOP of my FAVORITE ACTORS list (along with his Scottish neighbor, Gerry Butler!). Although his native Glasgow accent is the absolute BEST, James McAvoy can interchange accents with unbelievable ease.

This guy is one to watch, for sure. And, his wife, Anne-Marie Duff, is just as talented! She has a few movies in pre-production that sound awesome! And they both played on the fantastic series SHAMELESS.

You may have also seen James on the Sci-Fi series, Children of Dune. EXCELLENT!!!!

This guy! I've liked him ever since he played Arnie on What's Eating Gilbert Grape? To me, he's always been a cute guy.

OPINION CHANGED!!!!!!

Leo DiCaprio is no longer cute. No, not cute at all. Cute describes little fuzzy bunnies. Kittens. Puppy dogs.

LEO is SEX-AY. Good LORD! Sexy AND uber-talented. I watched Blood Diamond for the first time last week, and have watched it a few times since. Not only is the movie astounding, but he is just...OOH! Then, The Departed. WOW. Shocking movie, and Leo is FABULOUS in it.

WOW.

Not to mention he is using his Hollywoodedness (does that sound bad? lol!) for the benefit of the Environment, which I SO TOTALLY ADMIRE. Way to go, Leo!!!!

So here's my latest obsession. Rather, I'll add Leo to my list of obsessions. Lol! I just love him!!! Although I can't wait to see a movie starring HIM that he does not DIE IN!!!! :)

INDIANA JONES!!!!!

Okay. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is probably my #1 HERO of all time. One would think his appeal would fade somewhat as he has grown older.

NO WAY.

He's old enough to be my father. He is the exact age of my father-in-law (shudder--give me a moment while I get that image out of my head) and yet MY GOD! I am so CRAZY about him (Indy/Harrison--although I do love my father-in-law immensely! Just not like THAT LOL!)!

Some may wonder just how Harrison Ford will do, being the age of my father-in-law (65) in carrying out the infamous Indiana Jones role this May 22. I mean, he's an action hero. He does alot of his own STUNTS. Indy is a man's man, and he is not a sissy.

WONDER NO MORE! You have GOT to check out this trailer! SEXY! FUNNY! All with that cool, suave Indiana Jones appeal completely INTACT!

Here is the fantastic cover for Kim Lenox' first fabo book in her Shadow Guard series, NIGHT FALLS DARKLY. Isn't it GREAT? :)

I have to take some bragg time here. Kim is my best pal, writer-sister and critique partner, and she has worked SO HARD with this book! And boy, did New American Library do her, the book, and the hero, ARCHER some major justice! It's the perfect combination of paranormal/historical/romance! (I love the gargoyle!) NAL'S art department ROCKS!!!!

The story takes place in Jack the Ripper's London, and having already read this book I can PROMISE you, you're going to LOVE IT! Not only is the paranormal suspense fantastic, but the hero, Archer? Man! YUMMILISHUSH!!!!

Way to go, Kim! I am SO VERY PROUD and HAPPY for you!

NEW TITLE JUST IN!!!

I'm busy at work on my fourth book, and I'm happy to say I finally have an official title:

MACGOWAN'S GHOST!!!!!!!!

This is the first of my book where MY title has been chosen, so yay for that!

I'm ESPECIALLY excited because the hero is, well...

it's GERRY BUTLER! :) He is the inspiration for my brooding Scotsman in MacGowan's Ghost. Nope, he's not the ghost in this one! But he is one fine hero, indeed!

Hey everyone! I've been a slacker blogger lately, but it seems like time is just flying by so fast! Already late January 2008. Man!

Isn't this castle ruin breathtaking? Could you imagine living in it day-to-day? When I see pictures like this it makes me wonder about the people who built it, lived in it, protected it. I honestly can't remember where on earth this ruin is, either Northern England or Scotland, I imagine. I just love it!

Okay--I've now seen P.S. I Love You twice. It was better the second time even! Man!

GERRY BUTLER!!!!

For all you Gerry Butler fans, you'll definitely NOT want to miss his latest film, P.S. I Love You. My LORD! He is just so cute, sexy, and charming as Gerry Kennedy! After watching GB on several nighttime talk shows, etc. (view my earlier blogs!) I get the feeling his true character came out in this movie: fun, nutty, and a big time to be around! The movie itself is just fabulous, and Hilary Swank does a wonderful job! Harry Connick, Jr.'s character is a riot! Just one of those movies you don't want to end. Yes indeedy-o, a tear-jerker at times, but Gerry made up for it with his craziness! And my gosh, that cute crooked mouth and gorgeous green eyes! Woohoo!

One of my readers recently commented to me that Gerry seems to have a nasty habit of either dying or being DEAD in all of his movies. Lol! It's true! But I must say that he is the right-on inspiration for the hero in my fourth book, (tentatively entitled) MacGowan's Ghost, due to release next January. I won't give away the whole plot, but I can assure you Gerry Butler (aka Gabe MacGowan) is very much ALIVE throughout the entire story!

Sweeney Todd!!!!!!!!

I am one big giant Johnny Depp fan. I've watched all of his movies. Most more than once. Or Twice. Lol! But he just can't seem to STOP amazing me!! The man can SING!

My daughter and I went to see Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street last night and my Lord, it was FANTASTIC! If you totally despise musicals, you MIGHT not be inclined to watch it, but Johnny is so amazing to watch, he keeps you glued to your seat regardless. It's wonderful! A little juicy (bloody!) but hey--he's a DEMON BARBER. :) It's expected!

CHRISTMAS VACATION/HAPPY 2008!!!!!!

Hey everyone! I hope this finds you warm and toasty in your home and planning your 2008 resolutions! I hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday!

Here are a few pics of our Christmas Vacation in Vermont! I've never been before, and it is truly just as beatiful as any postcard I've seen. Picturesque and breathtaking! We stayed in a little town called Londonderry, and everyone I met was so nice!

The pics above include from top to bottom: My husband and daughter after making their derranged Grinch snowman (LOL!), a lovely snow cabin scene, goofy husband and goofier daughter on the slopes, waaaay goofier son and daughter on the slopes, me and daughter striking a pose (lol!), and another lovely cabin scene. Man! It was COLD the first day, then "warmed" up to the mid-30's. Brrrrr!

My husband treated us to a drive-through of Manhattan on the way home. YIKES!!! SO MANY PEOPLE!!!! But we saw Central Park, Rockerfeller Plaza, the monster library, the monster Barnes and Noble, Broadway, the Met--all the cool sites that I hope to go back and explore on foot! *actually, my best pal and writing sister, Kim Lenox, and I are going to Manhattan in October, so we'll have loads of pics to share!*

The drive home? ACK! Agony! There were one million gazillion people travelling SOUTH on the Interstate along with us the day after Christmas!!! It took us nearly 8 hours to get from Manhatten to Richmond, VA! Stop. Go. Drive 100 yards. Stop. Sit. Think naughty words. Go. GRRRR!!!!!! Lol!

So is everyone ready for a brand new year? I certainly am anxious to jump in and get started! I have BIG writing plans for this year! Highland Knight comes out in June, but before that happens I'll have my fourth book, tentatively entitled MacGowan's Ghost, written and finished! As of now, it's due to release in Jan. 2009, but I'll keep you updated. I'm also working on my next NAL proposal, along with another idea I've had brewing for a while. I'll share all that with you once it "solidifies". :) Busy busy busy in 2008!!!

I'm also ready to catch up on some movies I haven't been able to see: P.S. I Love You is on the top of my list. My LORD, that Gerard Butler! Man! (my daughter and I just watched Timeline last night, and drooled the entire time!) Also I Am Legend, National Treasure #2, Sweeney Todd, Atonement, and I think there's one more I"m forgetting! Lol! It'll be a moviebananza!

Okay! Here's wishing EVERYONE a fabulous and safe New Year's Eve, and a prosperous, happy New Year 2008!

FESTIVUS!!!!

Haha! George Costanza's dad and Kramer, and their "Festivus, for the Rest of Us" cracks me UP! We just watched that episode the other night. Man, what a hilarious one!

I've been a real stink-pot about blogging lately. The Holidays are so busy! Work, shop, bake, wrap, mail...and watch the Holiday favorites! Like A Christmas Story, and my personal favorite, It's A Wonderful Life. My family and I are headed to Vermont for a white Christmas this year, and my hubby thought he would escape the family ritual of watching It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. His face turned white when I whipped out the DVD! Ha! No ESCAPE, says I!!! Muahahahahaa!

Meanwhile, we've been scanning the channels looking for our other favorites, including Scrooged, with Bill Murray. Haha! And of course all of the old clay-animation shows. Plus Frosty! :) Boy, that zaps me right back to my childhood! (ahem, some time back in the past...)

I baked 200 nut balls rolled in powdered sugar today. Yikes! I think I'll dream about them!
