tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-240046802009-04-15T23:04:25.355Zredfto.co.ukThe life and times of my Red Mitsubishi FTO and the RedFTO website.
Well I thought it was about time I added something very new to the site and rather than a forum or a different type of guest book I thought a blog would be a good addition, and it will give you a chance to make comments about anything about the www.redfto.co.uk site or the car.RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.comBlogger15125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-85810909466697270762009-04-15T22:57:00.002Z2009-04-15T23:04:25.364ZI've been busyBeen a little bit busy with the car this week, added new clear indicators, these are modded MX5 ones. New dial faces fitted I didn't want something too bright as I don't think it work with ny car as I quite like the simple black interior. Changed the wheels I now have EVO8 Enkie's which fill the arches much better, still got to take some pics and add them to the site though. Done a rough fit of an extra JL Audio amp for the sub as the 4 channel one currently fitted wasn't really up to the job + i can now have a remote bass controller up front in the car.

That's all for now.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-11752761251582080332009-02-11T15:57:00.002Z2009-02-11T16:02:54.351ZWorks with all browsers.Spotted a few problems with the site layout not working in Google Chrome, this has now been fixed so the site works fine with the following Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome, also working fine on mobile devices such as Iphone/Ipod Touch.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-23206424977538199112009-02-02T18:17:00.003Z2009-02-02T18:23:33.529Z2009 UpdateHello peeps,
Right first post of 2009, so what have i got planned, well as soon as the weather gets better, I have a whole box of various bits to go on the car, new plugs and leads, wheel spacers, new front calipers, new ICE bits and pieces plus loads of other spares I aquired in the last year.

Site wise well the usual meets will be added and a few more workshop guides and if time I may totally redo the site, so as ever of you have any suggestions feel free to post them up here.

I'll be removing the guestbook soon as its kind of pointless now and just gets spammed which I can't stop. Also the site is moving to a new server soon with a lot more available bandwith so expect also to see a few vid from events.
I have a shit load more camera equipment now so expect to see better pics appearing shorty with the better weather coming.

Asd i've said before if you have suggestions on what you'd like to see post them up here or email direct linley@redfto.co.uk

BTW yet again straight through the MOT......never failed yet :-) and no advisories.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-4848627306726624382007-07-24T17:13:00.000Z2007-07-24T17:17:37.835ZQuick hiJust a brief update on the site and car.
Battery now located to the boot - pics to come soon
Oil catch tank fitted - pics to come soon
Rear antiroll bar bushes changed to Poly ones, workshop guide will be added soon.
Rear droplinks replaced, workshop guide also to come soon.

Its was also JAE this weekend gone so a few pics are up in the Rally section.

Does anybody actually read any of this? :-)

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-43951439456301946732007-04-27T16:57:00.000Z2007-04-27T17:04:23.709ZGeneral UpdateNow the weather is getting better I've now started work on the FTO, currently project is replacing the front bumper which is now very stone chipped and has laquer peeling off.
I have aquired a very cheap silver one which didn't need much work to prep it for spraying, current state is stone chips and minor scratches filled and rubbed down and a couple of coats of primer, hopefully all finished over the next few weeks, I'll also be fitting modified sidelight/indicator pods once these are also finished.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-69473702467282404912007-02-10T21:51:00.000Z2007-02-09T13:28:28.870ZMOT - Another PassHad the MOT this morning, passed with just a couple of things to get sorted, rear pads low(already had spares ready to change), rear droplinks, slight play in them, minor corrosion on 2 brake pipes which is easily dealt with. So pretty good result as the things pointed out are routine service items anyway.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-28909053211160068402007-02-02T17:56:00.000Z2007-02-02T18:03:31.716Z2007 First PostOk my first post of the year, I have just added some new pictures to the MyFTO page on the website after realising the ones on there must have been 4 years old.
Loads of plans for the car this year, for the last 12 months I have bought various spare parts etc to fit, so the list below will hopefully all get done and I'll try and do workshop guide for some of them.
Alternator - Mine is on its way out.
Poly rear anti roll bar bushes.
Oil Catch tank
Front Caliper Bolts
Rear Brake pads
Indicator Mod
New Oil Temp Gauge - Not happy with the current one.

Also planning on maybe redoing some parts of the website, feel free to post any suggestions.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-1157647108321522692006-09-07T16:36:00.000Z2006-09-07T16:38:28.333Z50meg 5mins vid of the FTO track session at Trax, Silverstone 3/9/06
http://www.almost-anything.co.uk/Trax06.wmv

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-1153777770555349442006-07-24T21:27:00.000Z2006-07-24T21:49:30.566ZJAE 2006Well JAE has passed for another year, a weekend of a strictly Japanese motors but mostly meeting up with fellow club members, getting drunk, having no sleep and eating rubbish for a few days.
Anyway a few pics will be up on the main www.redfto.co.uk site later this week but already online is a short 4 min 50meg vid of a couple of drifters the 1st being a Sumo Power 350z which loses it across the grass right in front of me.
www.almost-anything.co.uk/jae1.wmv

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-1148306415205257772006-05-22T13:57:00.000Z2006-05-22T14:00:15.216ZJapfestPictures from Japfest now uploaded to my site under FTO Rallies.
Bit of a damp start but after the intial 20 min downpour it stayed dry for the rest of the day, it was still bloody cold though.
Thanks to everybody that came hope you all enjoyed it, feel free to add any comments here.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-1143927457568934692006-04-01T21:27:00.000Z2006-04-01T21:37:37.580ZRoutine ChecksI like to think because I do my own servicing that the car gets checked better and more often than one that just goes to a garage every 6 months or more, most of the things like bushes and oil changes just automatically get done on a time basis rather a mileage one so quite often I'll just do jobs even if parts don't look too worn.
Just a few basics done today like brake pads, exhaust, underseal, oil etc, i was a pissed off to find a screw stuck in one of the rear tyres, luckly it was dead centre and never driven flat so it was repairable which was good seeeing as the tyre only has a few thousand miles on it.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-1142684948823137732006-03-18T12:22:00.000Z2006-03-18T16:06:13.673ZNew batteryJust fitted a new battery, last one an Exide battery lasted over 6 years but ran dry so was stuffed. New battery is a Bosch AsiaSilver which is recommended for JDM cars plus it was the largest one that fitted, width wise there is only about 5mm clearance left. I got mine from Costco so it was a lot cheaper than retail but it should still be only around £50.
Piccy here: http://www.redfto.co.uk/Images06/battery.jpg

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-1142622848458445912006-03-17T19:10:00.000Z2006-03-17T19:14:08.486ZSite UpdatesAfter a a few gearbox problems I couldn't cure, a few weeks back the car was converted to a manual at Japco so I have now added a few updates to the MyFTO page as of course I now have a new gearknob and new pedals, also an extra addition is a padded armrest and cupholder, a very rare option that not many people have.

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24004680.post-1142290349121993262006-03-13T22:47:00.000Z2006-03-13T23:28:20.713ZHello and welcomeHi, and welcome to the latest addition to the site, feel free to make any comments on the site or the car or anything for that matter

RedFTOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14969147278302764664noreply@blogger.com1
