We are still waiting on the final results from the Youth Epee events, but in the Men's Epee events Henry Uldall finished 24th, Doug White was 29th and I was 32nd, not bad for our first tournament in Epee! <p class="mobile-photo"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SQyMyd6vTnI/AAAAAAAAB54/v_uiBqsYx0k/s1600-h/Photo-0082-740966.jpeg"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SQyMyd6vTnI/AAAAAAAAB54/v_uiBqsYx0k/s320/Photo-0082-740966.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263736863141613170" /></a></p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23835476-7414400358153271966?l=dallasfencers.blogspot.com'/></div>Jamesnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23835476.post-54553927480911329012008-09-14T12:27:00.000-07:002008-09-14T12:38:08.238-07:00A big day at the Adelman Memorial!Congratulations to Connor and Blake! While on vacation Connor Gibson and myself spent some time in Linköping home to Linköpings fäktklubb, one of the few clubs in Sweden that has Saber fencers. We would like to say thank you to Jonas and Carl and everyone we fenced with at the club, we had a fantastic time! Here are some of the pictures from the two nights we fenced there:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5lcOeRsI/AAAAAAAABo8/a2saPW4tAzs/s640/P8180098.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px;" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5lcOeRsI/AAAAAAAABo8/a2saPW4tAzs/s640/P8180098.JPG" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5mDpGANI/AAAAAAAABpM/MxgQE0wlfO4/s640/P8180100.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px;" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5mDpGANI/AAAAAAAABpM/MxgQE0wlfO4/s640/P8180100.JPG" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5rAdL6VI/AAAAAAAABqk/bqMsCpp3Bxo/s640/P8180111.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px;" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5rAdL6VI/AAAAAAAABqk/bqMsCpp3Bxo/s640/P8180111.JPG" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5nZIA59I/AAAAAAAABpk/kcn0GIpXrpY/s512/P8180103.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px;" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5nZIA59I/AAAAAAAABpk/kcn0GIpXrpY/s512/P8180103.JPG" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5sj6yT6I/AAAAAAAABrA/_p_yo7eFivg/s640/P8180114.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px;" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5sj6yT6I/AAAAAAAABrA/_p_yo7eFivg/s640/P8180114.JPG" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5kVAWkRI/AAAAAAAABos/MIY7USOC_Fk/s640/P8180096.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px;" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/james.henningson/SLN5kVAWkRI/AAAAAAAABos/MIY7USOC_Fk/s640/P8180096.JPG" border="0" alt="" /></a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23835476-2710816228980480191?l=dallasfencers.blogspot.com'/></div>Jamesnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23835476.post-34020604961147071492008-07-11T13:56:00.001-07:002008-07-11T13:58:02.400-07:00More news from Nationals!Congratulations to Mason Mitchell, he finished 10th out of 92 fencers in Division 3 Men's Saber! We made it out to Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco on the 4th of July but headed back into San Jose for the fireworks because there was a lot of fog in San Francisco, on the 5th we went to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. The club did great and we had a fantastic time! A special thanks to all the parents who made this trip possible, we couldn't have done it without you!<br /><br />The Junior Men's team of Connor Gibson, Blake Gordon and team captain, Mason Mitchell had a strong showing against the Medeo Fencers Club team, but eventually lost 45 to 30. Our final ranking was 21st, which is great, especially when you consider that the Medeo team was so strong they had the winner of the Cadet event, Micheal Mills, as their back up fencer! He didn't event start!!! <br /><br />In the individual events we had a strong showing as well as some tough draws. In youth 14 men's saber, Connor drew Will Spear, the number one ranked Y14 fencer in the country to get into the top 8, Connor was eliminated and Will went on to win the event. Connor's high seeding out of the pools gave him 10th place in the final rankings. Our friends from Houston also did great! Chris Ahn seeded 4th in Y14 after a fantastic round in the pools and finished 17th overall after the direct eliminations! Avery Youngblood also had a great tournament, she actually did better in the Cadet event, than in her own age group event! Her final rank in Cadets was 26th which will give her a lot of national points! Cait Schneider only had one event at nationals this year but has apparently sparked the interest of some college scouts, more on that as the details become available!<br /><br />Here are the individual results we have so far;<br />Mason Mitchell:<br />27th out of 118 in Division 2 Men's Saber<br />48th out of 110 in Cadet Men's Saber<br />Avery Youngblood:<br />26th out of 81 in Cadet Women's Saber (also earns more national Cadet points!)<br />35th out of 80 in Youth 14 Women's Saber<br />Blake Gordon:<br />49th out of 118 in Division 2 Men's Saber<br />40th out of 127 in Youth 14 Men's Saber<br />Cait Schneider:<br />63rd out of 87 in Junior Women's Saber<br />Connor Gibson:<br />53rd out of 110 in Cadet Men's Saber<br />10th out of 127 in Youth 14 Men's Saber<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23835476-5862980353815022174?l=dallasfencers.blogspot.com'/></div>Jamesnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23835476.post-12038405023500749422008-07-06T12:15:00.000-07:002008-12-12T15:55:32.579-08:00A packed house for the first summer camp!<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SHEatdzBAzI/AAAAAAAAA5c/65bfWu79qwU/s1600-h/Photo-0066-757014.jpg"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SHEatdzBAzI/AAAAAAAAA5c/65bfWu79qwU/s320/Photo-0066-757014.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219982811494155058" /></a></p><br /><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SHEZlNzBAyI/AAAAAAAAA5U/Htvp16Ka0-8/s1600-h/Photo-0065-767628.jpg"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SHEZlNzBAyI/AAAAAAAAA5U/Htvp16Ka0-8/s320/Photo-0065-767628.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219981570248606498" /></a></p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23835476-1203840502350074942?l=dallasfencers.blogspot.com'/></div>Jamesnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23835476.post-8392507392856569992008-07-02T13:21:00.001-07:002008-12-12T15:55:32.818-08:00Live from the National Championships in San Jose California!<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SGvjYNzBAxI/AAAAAAAAA5M/OPvTAT4euIw/s1600-h/Photo-0067-711313.jpg"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SGvjYNzBAxI/AAAAAAAAA5M/OPvTAT4euIw/s320/Photo-0067-711313.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5218514598398853906" /></a></p><br />Connor won this bout as well as a whole bunch more!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23835476-839250739285656999?l=dallasfencers.blogspot.com'/></div>Jamesnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23835476.post-70345455602686373062008-06-08T13:12:00.001-07:002008-12-12T15:55:32.979-08:00Gold and Silver at the DeGall Memorial!<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SEw9RN6Gu-I/AAAAAAAAA4U/m1GV8CK3xg8/s1600-h/Photo-0064-771853.jpg"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/SEw9RN6Gu-I/AAAAAAAAA4U/m1GV8CK3xg8/s320/Photo-0064-771853.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209606234961263586" /></a></p> Congratulations to Connor and Mason for their fantastic finishes at The DeGall Memorial this weekend! Jason, Kai-Lief, and Evan are all qualified for Youth 12 Men's Saber, and Allie is qualified for Youth 12 Women's Saber!<br /><br />And we still have two more qualifying events to go! It looks like we will have quite a crowd at San Jose this summer!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23835476-3328208170981590515?l=dallasfencers.blogspot.com'/></div>Jamesnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23835476.post-5450591951296324132008-03-29T18:06:00.001-07:002008-12-12T15:55:34.988-08:00Medals at the Oz Parson<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/R_ot2NKdqfI/AAAAAAAAA0s/IADGYIlMFMM/s1600-h/oz_parsons_WS.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/R_ot2NKdqfI/AAAAAAAAA0s/IADGYIlMFMM/s320/oz_parsons_WS.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5186508330140281330" /></a>Update! On Sunday the kids took home two more medals! Cait Schneider finished second in the Women's Saber! Arden Youngblood finished third and her sister Avery finished 7th. <br /><br /><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/R-7niNKdqeI/AAAAAAAAA0k/ZvUJdlEAF-Y/s1600-h/Photo0129-775657.jpg"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4Cn1D7Q6jlQ/R-7niNKdqeI/AAAAAAAAA0k/ZvUJdlEAF-Y/s320/Photo0129-775657.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183334795985136098" /></a></p><br />As you can see from the picture this tournament it s little different, they give out decorative swords and daggers for the top 3 in each event. That always makes this event a favorite with out club! First place got a cavelry saber, second gets a short sword and third gets daggers. (thankfully none of them are sharpend!)<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23835476-545059195129632413?l=dallasfencers.blogspot.com'/></div>Jamesnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23835476.post-73470410956463297332008-03-17T08:18:00.001-07:002008-12-12T15:55:35.611-08:00Pictures and video from the Super Youth Circuit!<span style="font-weight:bold;">Blake v.
