BTW, I really like the new Blog List. Each day I check our family blogs to see who has posted something new. Some, like Patsy, posted every day. Some, like me, posted at least once every two weeks. Now, with my blog list, I can just go to my own blog and see if anyone has posted something new. No more checking the blogs of lazy people like me each day to see if they have a new post...

Thanks, Patsy, for showing us how this worked. I had seen that they had a new My blog list, but did not think it would interest me. It is just the ticket for lazy browsers...

We are hauling gravel from the creek and making me a patio out front by my new deck. Then I am going to make a couple of sidewalks. Eventually the whole area in front of my house is going to be creek gravel. We have about 4 loads to go, but George stalled on me last Monday and started mowing the pasture instead of hauling gravel.

The deck hand in Junior George. We are going floating on the Buffalo today, so they stayed the night last night, the boys with us and the girls with the other grandma. The two Adays that get up at the crack of dawn to go to work are the only ones awake at this hour.

We have the lumber to finish the railing around the deck also, maybe next week end we will get that done. Today we go have fun. You won't be seeing pictures tho. I am afraid my camera would wind up in the river, so I am leaving it at home.

Helen says her children in Washington state live on an island. Each morning son-in-law Darrell has to take the ferry across the water to get to work and back again each evening. I think he should get one of these. I am sure the kids would love it.

Helen called. She wanted to know if it was Betty's birthday, and why no one had posted about it. I tried to call Betty this morning, but got no answer. I did remember and I did know. Her birthday is also Flag Day. She is the same age as Tim Russet.

This is the grandkids room after I took up the carpet and cleaned and tossed some things in the trash. I looks much better.

New shoes, new porch

When Betty was here Wednesday, she gave me these blue shoes. I was wearing a pair of New Balance that she had given me but they wear well past their prime. I bought the white shoes last month. They felt good on my feet except that they did not 'breath' and my feet always felt hot and 'confined' in them. The blue shoes feel light and airy. They are some wierd brand I have never heard of.

This is the lumber for my new front proch. I think the tech term is deck since it does not have a roof over it, but I think of it as the front proch. It will be 16 foot long by 10 foot wide. I am sure it is going to be very nice. It can be George's fathers day gift when he gets it built.

New Floor

Greg has been here this week helping George put new flooring in the living room and hallway. Later, we are going to also put new flooring in the back bedroom, the grandkids room.

It looks so much better already even with just the wood down. Greg did a really good job. George helped, but Greg did most of the work.

We are home!!!

It is 1 am. I have been trying to think what to say to you. I want to fix everything, but that is not possible. Sometimes, we cannot fix everything, so we do the best we can and go from there accepting that we have done all we can do. I am now going to attempt to help you feel better.

You know what the Doctors ask. On a scale of 1 to 10 how bad is it?

You and I know a woman, here in our hometown who had two sons, twins, about my sons age. Then one day, many years ago, when her babies were about 18 years old or so, one of her babies pointed a gun at his head and pulled the trigger. I wonder, on a scale of 1 to 10, how bad was it for her. Maybe a 7 or 8? She likely wanted to crawl in the grave with her baby, but, she still had one living son and she had to go on.

Now, her remaining son has two young sons and an estranged wife that has brain cancer. Just last month, on the day his wife came home from brain surgery, this woman's son took a baseball bat and beat his wife's mother to death.

I am guessing on a scale of 1 to 10, she's about to 10 now.

You cannot fix everything. Just do the best you can. We will do everything we can to help.

You say it helps you to have a plan. I have a little plan. I am going to come see you. Not right now, but sometime this summer. We can plan.
