Fundación Luker manages, supports, and co-finances projects in the areas of education and recreation, in order to contribute to the social and economic development of low income populations in the city of Manizales and its surrounding areas which are located in the coffee growing region of the Department of Caldas.

Annual General Meeting 2009

The event centered around AIESEC’s core values of activating leadership and exchange and brought together many local industry leaders, members, alumnus, and corporate partners. Over 40 stakeholders were present to listen to both Janel Jaffray and Sarah Rosario speak on the value of their AIESEC experience. Janel Jaffray is an AIESEC alumnus, and currently a manager at Canadian Pacific Railway. Janel spoke to the importance of gaining professional and personal development in addition to establishing a global network. Sarah Rosario is a past intern from the Dominican Republic who has stayed on with her original position at GranTierra Energy Inc. AIESEC members Jamie Feng (COMM), Ijaz Rahim (TM) and Marinel Hizon (OGX) were all recognized for their outstanding contribution to the local committee.

Andrew Nazareth- who seems to have disappeared from AIESEC for a time- has returned (guess he missed us). Thanks to Andrew for being the MC for the event!

Howdy Everyone!

Are you ready for this? The next AIESEC Calgary GA on Wednesday July 23rd @ 6 pm, will have a little twist and be in the form of a Talk Show...

Following the Global Village at the end of May, we all got to know a bit about the interns' culture, which was a fantastic experience. We got to taste a wide arrange of foods and flavors from across the world...

The Talk Show, on the other hand, will be a great opportunity to meet the interns and get to know them on a personal level. Plus get all the gossip you want. We'll have prizes for the audience, so don't miss out!!

Great Job for an AIESECer

Hey AIESEC!

Whoa it has been a very long time since I posted here, since the days of Kent I think :P

Anyways, I am posting because this is important hopefully for one of you. I am going to be leaving my job at ECO Canada in mid-July 2008 to pursue other things, but I REALLY want my job to go to an AIESEC person because I know you guys would be well suited. The job is basically working for a large, national NGO to create learning opportunities and internships for recent immigrants to Canada.

If you would like more details please email or phone me ASAP, we are posting the job on the UofC job site today, and from there I think it will get a lot of action (ECO does not have any trouble hiring) but I am still holding out for an AIESEC alum.
