A turnaround began at the first toss they won in the series, continued with near-centuries from Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara, and culminated in an energetic and smart show in the field.

For 62 balls Yuvraj Singh played a dream knock, keeping India in the game despite wickets falling around him. When he became the fifth Indian to fall, for a dazzling 73 out of India's 121 in the 22nd over, the 321-run target looked far away. But for that blitz from Yuvraj and a late-order collapse, Sri Lanka dominated the whole game, a feat that had looked unimaginable in the first four games.

Perhaps the toss played a big part. This was only the second time Mahela Jayawardene beat Mahendra Singh Dhoni with the coin in the last 11 occasions. On a dry track, Sanath Jayasuriya and Dilshan provided Sri Lanka with the ideal start and feasted on the wayward trio of Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma, and L Balaji, making his ODI comeback after more than three years.

It was Jayasuriya who provided Sri Lanka with the springboard. During his short stay at the crease he beat the bowlers into submission. By the team Jayasuriya departed in the 11th over, after having displayed his trademark clip over midwicket, cut through point, the short-arm pull, and the loft over mid-off, Sri Lanka had reached 66.

The pyrotechnics may have stopped upon Jayasuriya's dismissal, but the runs kept coming at a fair pace. Sangakkara picked up boundaries regularly, minus the flashy strokeplay. The second ball he faced, Sangakkara reached out for a fullish delivery and cut it off the front foot for four. He also benefited from some wayward bowling from Virender Sehwag, who gave him a gift down the leg side at least once in his three overs. The fine-leg fielder was a busy man when Sehwag bowled, but in vain. Sehwag was replaced by another part-timer - India used six such bowlers, making it nine in all - but Sangakkara's paddle to fine leg kept yielding him rich results. In all, Sangakkara took 28 runs behind square on the leg side.

India tried to hustle through the middle overs, using all their dibbly-dobbly part-time spinners to bowl 21 overs between the drinks breaks, but all they managed to hurry was the scoring. Sangakkara's slog-sweeping over midwicket was effective. He hit three fours and a six there, taking 23 runs in the midwicket region. But his final slog-sweep denied him a century and ended a 143-run partnership.

It was easy to miss Dilshan with Jayasuriya and Sangakkara going hard, and he chose to stay inconspicuous, running hard between the wickets and waiting for the loose deliveries. He was especially severe outside off, finding the gaps through the covers consistently. Seventy of his runs, and eight of his nine boundaries, came through the point and cover region. His running with Sangakkara was exemplary, both of them often running seconds on the throw. This was Dilshan's first half-century of the series, and could very easily have been a century but Dilshan became part of a late collapse.

In his comeback spell, Ishant took two wickets in an over during a period when four wickets fell in six deliveries. As a result only 65 came in the last nine overs, and India were upbeat going into the chase.

But all such notions were put to rest in the first three overs through some smart cricket by Jayasuriya and Sangakkara. First Jayasuriya moved to his left to take a sharp catch from Sehwag off Thilan Thushara, in the second over of the innings. In the next over Sangakkara, who stood up to the seamers right from the start of the innings, hung on to a thick edge from Suresh Raina.

Yuvraj, though, didn't slow down even as India kept losing top-order wickets. Yuvraj picked his fifth delivery from outside off and flicked it over square leg for four. That was about the worst his timing would get, and this was divinely timed. Mere pushes split the field and sped off for boundaries, flicks and half-lofts reached the boundary on the bounce, and those hit straight to the fielders took some stopping. Neither Nuwan Kulasekara, Farveez Maharoof nor Thushara was spared as Yuvraj picked the slower balls and swept with ease; one of them off Maharoof went for a huge six. Yuvraj reached his 50 in 46 balls, hitting 10 boundaries.

The trouble was that two more wickets fell quickly, and Yuvraj had to keep the scoring-rate up. In the 22nd over of the innings he top-edged a sweep off Muttiah Muralitharan to give Sri Lanka the final fillip. At that time India needed 200 more in 28 overs, and as they looked to consolidate the asking-rate kept creeping on them. Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, the debutant, got half-centuries, but they were always racing against time. And the latter had a head start.

Horse trailers!!!

There are many vehicles that have been found which help in carrying goods as well as people.. This means they never try to explore themselves. When you never try to learn about yourself how will you ever correct your mistakes. So in order to learn about your own self you have to take some personal tests. Learn Myself is a website which offers these kinds of tests that makes us know ourselves better.

The website offers two kinds of Personality Quizzes. If you are rushing out of time you can just take a quick personality quiz. Or if you want to take a detailed test go for the second one. The first test hardly takes 3 to 6 minutes of your time while the second may take some 6 to 12 minutes. Once you have completed these tests you will be shown a snapshot of your personality. Since coming back into the international arena in the early 1990s, South Africa have had the most trouble with Australia and finally conquered them, with de Villiers fighting to 106 and Jacques Kallis and the debutant JP Duminy producing nerveless half-centuries.

In a thrilling and stomach-turning adventure in the top-of-the-table contest, South Africa registered the second-biggest successful pursuit in history and did it so comfortably that they could have got 500. Australia's only answer was Mitchell Johnson, who took a career-best 11 for 159, but the rest of the performance was as worrying as South Africa's was outstanding.

Graeme Smith, who set up the chase with 108, watched his team drop the hosts to 3 for 15 on the opening morning, but it was not ahead again until after lunch on the final day. It has been like a handicap sprint race, with the runners not coming together until the final ten metres. South Africa finished with more than their chests in front to capture an invaluable 1-0 lead in the three-match series, which resumes in Melbourne on Boxing Day.

Smith helped reduce the original target to 187 for the final day and de Villiers and Kallis chipped away at it during a gripping 124-run stand that dented the Australians. de Villiers' then grabbed Duminy, who hit the winning runs to finish on 50 not out, and together they took care of the next 111. At the finish, when Duminy pushed a three through cover, he jumped as high as the whole team felt.

Australia's senior players had grown increasingly annoyed at the situation, but Peter Siddle and Jason Krejza are not Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath. Brett Lee does not even seem like the same man. This is a devastating defeat and continues their slide in 2008. If they lose this series their rating as the world's No. 1 will be as misleading as presents being the meaning of Christmas.

There was little to cheer on the final day for Australia. In South Africa the supporters deserve to be delirious. Their team has fought and scrapped and succeeded in a way that was unimaginable, against an outfit which has tormented them for years. Nervous but committed, the players tried not to give away their mood, but when 52 was required there was even a smile in the dressing room from Smith. Those who expected late shocks - of course we did - were disappointed as de Villiers and Duminy showed an assurance that was missing in the country's previous failures.

Singles came at will throughout the day, risky shots were barely needed, and there was little danger of being caught in the slips, mainly because Ricky Ponting wasn't really bothering with them. After lunch, with 92 needed, Siddle and Krejza were brought on while Johnson and Lee fielded. The main men, the only ones capable of hurrying the batsmen, were resting. Like sponsorship commitments, player workloads are now apparently too severe on the field as well.

de Villiers, who survived some shaky moments, showed he would not be an easy wicket in the first session and assumed the main responsibilities following Kallis' departure half an hour before lunch. In tense times neither de Villiers nor Duminy, experiencing the most severe pressure on debut, showed the strain.

A frustrated Ponting, whose arms were often crossed, kicked at the ground following a play and miss from de Villiers. More muttering, cursing and spitting came as they headed to defeat. Australia were bowling when West Indies scored 418 in the fourth innings in 2002-03, but there was energy in the field that day. This team expects things to happen that can't.

de Villiers could have been run-out on 18, edged short of Brad Haddin off Siddle in the first session and survived again shortly after lunch. Lee had a chance to catch him on 67, but it sped through his raised hands and went for four to mid-on. Fortune is needed to succeed in a chase like this; in the field the Australians considered themselves unlucky.

Johnson was again Australia's major weapon and collected his 11th victim of an outstanding game when he picked up Kallis, who was amazingly solid and constructive during his 57. While Johnson captured 3 for 98, Lee had 1 for 73 and there were no other contributors.

As Kallis left slowly after a wide drive, there were feelings that it could be the end of South Africa's charge. There were still more than 100 runs to go and the rock had departed. de Villiers and Duminy kept the dream alive, with de Villiers picking gaps for ones and twos, and cutting hard for his fours.

Duminy milked the bowlers like a veteran instead of a novice. He might be one of those players who experiences his career highlight in his opening game. While Duminy left an exciting mark, it was the effort of de Villiers that sealed the success.

A 24-year-old with a mind clear of chaotic defeats and tortuous failures, he sailed South Africa through the trouble and picked up his seventh century with a pull for four off Johnson. By this point there were only happy faces in the dressing room, for not even the old South Africa could lose from here. Twelve runs later the new model had beaten Australia in a tight game. It's true.

Web Hosting!!

Internet has grown to such an extent that anything is possible through the internet. And there could be no better figure than Sachin Tendulkar to mastermind the uplifting success with a century of such serenity that he made the pressure-cooker environment seem like an afternoon in the park. Along with Yuvraj Singh, he added an unbroken 163, sapping the England spirit that had carried them into such a dominant position.

The closing stages were dominated by scenes of a hysteric crowd cheering dot-balls as Yuvraj ensured Tendulkar had time to reach his 41st century. The moment came with perfect symmetry as Tendulkar swept Graeme Swann to fine leg to reach the hundred and complete victory. All the previous times India have come up short in run-chases, and claims that Tendulkar doesn't contribute at crunch times, will be forgotten.

At the end of the third day Gary Kirsten, a man of few words, said he believed this Indian team was capable of anything. Now, after following their victory over Australia with this triumph, the momentum of the side is starting to feel unstoppable. The batting faltered in the first innings, but they never lost confidence in their own ability, highlighted by Virender Sehwag's bombast, Tendulkar's calm and Yuvraj's flair.

England have been through such a range of emotions that it will probably take them a while to dissect what has gone on. They performed above expectations for much of the game, but on the final day wilted against a great batting line-up. Their bowlers couldn't summon up the same consistency that was successful earlier in the match. They failed to break through in clusters, with Andrew Flintoff's third-over removal of an out-of-form Rahul Dravid and James Anderson's curtailing of Gautam Gambhir's stylish 66 proving false dawns. Each time another Indian batsman would bed in on a pitch that never quite developed into the viper it promised to be.

The stand between Tendulkar and Yuvraj was worthy of such a significant occasion - when they came together the match was still in England's favour after Graeme Swann had VVS Laxman taken at short leg shortly after lunch. Yuvraj struck two early boundaries off Swann and made it clear he was going to play his natural game, rather than prod around as in the first innings. England tried everything to unsettle him, but this time he didn't get sucked into any verbals with Flintoff, instead just turning away and giving the silent treatment. Steve Harmison ended up hurling the ball back at him from his follow-through, but Yuvraj calmly patted it away and bit his tongue.

The presence of Tendulkar was vital. He remained entrenched and massively focused after overcoming a testing start against Flintoff, who was the only pace bowler Kevin Pietersen could rely on for control, and ensured Yuvraj focused on his batting. He manoeuvred the spinners with great skill and Pietersen was always a few deliveries late with his field changes. The England captain will learn with time, but his team's tactics had been strangely negative since lunch yesterday, although Sehwag's innings clearly impacted their mindset on the final day.

The closest England came to breaking the decisive stand was when Yuvraj swept at Swann and all the close fielders went up for a gloved catch. It was only the bowler who believed in the lbw shout, and replays showed it was hitting halfway up middle stump. Swann found turn and bounce, reward for giving the ball a tweak, although he had a tendency to drift too straight rather than making the batsmen drive. However, he can hold his head high after a promising debut.

Monty Panesar, on the other hand, was again hugely disappointing and remained wicketless from 27 overs while conceding nearly four an over. For the second time in three Tests, following South Africa's successful chase at Edgbaston, the pressure of a final-innings situation that should have suited him perfectly instead caused him to seize up. He was cut and pulled far too often and even when he tried to build pressure, by bowling over the wicket to Tendulkar, runs still ticked along.

Once the target was below three figures Yuvraj began to express himself by pulling Panesar for six then attacking the new ball. That had been England's last chance, but the batsmen were so well set that it barely made a difference. The belief was surging through India and Yuvraj even brought out one of his one-day specialities, clearing his front leg to launch Anderson over mid-on. This innings could be the making of him.

He offered a half chance on 55, gloving a short ball from Harmison down the leg side, but Matt Prior couldn't take it tumbling to his right, and a more clear-cut opportunity when Prior missed a leg-side stumping late on. However, by then only 20 more were needed and any chance of an England fightback had long since disappeared. This experience will be tough to take, but extenuating circumstances should allow them a greater degree of pride in their performance. Nothing, though, will take the glory away from India, and after a performance like this nothing should.

England hold the upper hand!!

England's bowlers proved that it doesn't matter how many thousands of runs a top order has, each innings is a new one and all batsmen are human. A fine combined effort from the five-man attack reduced India to 155 for 6 in reply to their 316 on the second day in Chennai. Graeme Swann grabbed the spotlight with two wickets in his first over in Test cricket and three strikes in the final hour - one apiece for Monty Panesar, Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison - allowed England to cement unexpected control.

The pitch has already played a part in this fascinating contest and chasing in the fourth innings isn't going to be easy. There was help for Harbhajan Singh and Amit Mishra, but also for England's spin pair as Swann and Panesar matched them. After stumbling to 37 for 3, courtesy Swann's two in four balls before tea, India partially recovered through Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman. But their dismissals in consecutive overs after the break stunned the crowd into silence. Flintoff produced another of the chest-thumping spells for which he has become famous. With his first ball back he had Tendulkar caught and bowled and then got under the skin of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. There is a belief that Yuvraj doesn't have the same taste for Tests as he does for one-dayers and the roughing-up worked: in the penultimate over of the day he drove at Harmison, edging to Flintoff at second slip.

That left England, dismissed mid-way through the afternoon session after Matt Prior's battling half-century had led them to 316, happy with a total that appeared initially about 100 short. It began with James Anderson cramping Virender Sehwag for room, before Swann stole the spotlight in grand style. Often spinners are given the final over of a session as a token gesture - a few minutes later it looked like a masterstroke.

Swann's first delivery was cut away by Gautham Gambhir, but the following ball brought a big appeal for a short-leg catch, ultimately turned down by Daryl Harper. Next ball, however, Gambhir padded up to one that straightened to give Swann his first wicket. If that wasn't enough, with the last ball before tea an out-of-form Rahul Dravid was beaten by one that spun in sharply, though replays suggested it would only have grazed leg stump.

Swann - and England - probably wished play hadn't stopped for tea, as when the players returned Tendulkar and Laxman settled in, having been able to gather their thoughts. They calmly steadied the innings but, unlike England's leaden-footed middle-order their first instinct was to attack. Tendulkar swept Swann over midwicket for six, and Laxman effortlessly turned him through the leg side from a ball that could reasonably have gone through cover.

Panesar was the last option Pietersen introduced though he struggled initially to find his pace and line. Tendulkar toyed with him, one over in particular evidence of his greatness in making bowlers do what he wants. A short ball was cut away and when Panesar compensated by pitching up Tendulkar drove him past deep cover.

It looked like normal service, only for Laxman to suddenly chip a return catch to Panesar. There was shock all around; Panesar because he'd caught it (just, in the heels of his hands), Laxman because of the error and the crowd because they had started to enjoy the rally. The Barmy Army, though, were in fine voice and chants of 'Monty Monty' soon turned to cries of 'Super Fred' as Flintoff got in on the act after tea. The batting hadn't gone quite as well for Flintoff, his dismissal in the third over of the day putting paid to England's hopes of reaching 400. It was an out-of-character innings, as he prodded around for 75 balls, until a lunge at Mishra was snapped up at short leg. In contrast to Flintoff's heavy-footed technique against spin was Prior's lightness at the crease.

When Prior was dropped after the Sri Lanka tour last year it was because of his glovework and not his batting. His fifty came off 96 balls and although the innings including a lone boundary he was the one England batsman to remain busy. However, his tactics with the tail were odd, as he continually exposed both Harmison and Panesar. The final-wicket stand lasted 37 balls, of which Panesar faced 26.His best support came from Anderson - dropped by Dravid at slip - who again excelled in his role as nightwatchman. He defended stubbornly and even had the gumption to reverse sweep the day's opening boundary off Mishra.

The dismissal that woke everyone up, however, was the ball from Harbhajan that leapt off a length and took Swann's glove to slip. It was a sign of what the batsmen can expect as this match progresses and highlighted the importance of gaining a first-innings lead. England are likelier to harbour those thoughts tonight.

Even stevens on the first day!!

This Test looked like it might never go ahead, and some still argue it's too soon to be playing cricket, but in the end the opening day produced a fascinating start to the short series. Despite a fine century from Andrew Strauss, a brace of wickets apiece for Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan reduced England to 229 for 5 at the close although the surface is threatening to break up later in the game.

Against the odds England controlled the first two sessions and were 164 for 1 at tea after an opening stand of 118. However, India hit back strongly, led by another outstanding display of reverse swing from Zaheer. He removed Ian Bell with the second ball after tea and bounced-out a scratchy and skittish Kevin Pietersen. Andrew Flintoff did well to survive his early trial by spin and swing, and faces a huge role on the second day with nightwatchman James Anderson for company.

Strauss's effort was a remarkable show of concentration. Barring three short innings during the Stanford week, this was his first knock since the end of the English season. He brought up his 13th Test century off 191 balls, but his dismissal late in the day, offering a low return catch to Amit Mishra, put India firmly ahead on points. The four sessions splits confirm how India fought back: 63 without loss, 101 for 1 and 65 for 4.

Zaheer's first ball after tea slanted across Bell, then the second arched back in and was heading for middle when he was trapped in front. Dhoni hadn't used Zaheer between lunch and tea, but when called upon played a vital part. Pietersen has had more to deal with in recent days than most, so it was unsurprising that he struggled at the crease. He was tested by Zaheer's swing but also Yuvraj Singh's left-arm sliders. Yuvraj caused as many moments of discomfort as Harbhajan, who was introduced in the ninth over, or Mishra and had a very close lbw shout turned down against Pietersen. Zaheer, though, claimed a deserved second wicket as Pietersen top-edged a pull which the bowler claimed in his follow-through.

Paul Collingwood retained his place in the side ahead of the in-form Owais Shah, and when your spot is being debated it doesn't help to get a rough decision. Billy Bowden thought he'd got a glove to short-leg off Harbhajan, but he missed it by at least six inches. A lot of the players have spoken about how events in Mumbai have given them a greater perspective, but once the contest is resumed in the middle, instincts take over and the disappointment was easy to detect.

To put England's position in further context, the last Test on this ground, when South Africa played India, produced first-innings totals of 540 and 627, plus an individual contribution of 319 by Virender Sehwag. The visitors, though, have the advantage of bowling last on a surface that is likely to break up after hurried preparation. There were reminders of what had gone before - a minute's silence before play and black armbands on show - however in the middle the cricket was about as intense as could have been expected. The expectations on England's top order were low after a frantic build-up that included just two days of practice in Chennai and that may just have allowed then to settle. As Alastair Cook said before the game a large part of the battle is mental and both he and Strauss appeared unburdened.

It has taken time for Strauss and Cook to perform together and, while they are still too similar to be an ideal combination, the results are starting to improve. This was their fourth century stand of the year. Cook was the only casualty before tea, falling to an expansive slog-sweep against Harbhajan as he attempted a rare moment of aggression. It was the sort of lapse in concentration the heat and humidity can cause, but was also an indication as to why Cook has only hit one six in his international career.

Strauss showed how to play the sweep, using it as a regular option especially against Mishra, who was the man England attempted to target. It was a smart tactic, Mishra is the least experienced of the frontline bowlers, and meant that runs were steadily ticking over from one end although Mishra made a late impact.

Strauss didn't score a run through the off side before lunch, a mark of how he has tightened his game since returning to the side. After the break Harbhajan dropped short and allowed him room for his favourite cut although moments of acceleration were few and far between. With Zaheer's probing line he found it hard work through the nineties before reaching his century with a glide to third man.

If he'd stayed until the end, England could have claimed honours were even, but India's late roll means they have made considerable strides towards controlling a match that is important for so many reasons.

E Track - The safe belt!!

There are many ways to transport goods to different places. According to a BCCI press release, the ECB has informed the Indian board that it has agreed to the revised schedule, in which the warm-up match in Vadodara from December 5 to 7 has been scrapped. The tour will be officially cleared after discussions between the ECB's security consultant and officials in India, N Srinivasan, the BCCI secretary, said.

However, the ECB has yet to confirm that the tour is back on track, and is still awaiting the security audit being prepared by their security expert, Reg Dickason. No further announcement is expected from the England camp before Tuesday, as the players continue to weigh up the pros and cons of a return to India, so soon after last week's terrorist atrocities. The new series itinerary might go some way towards calming England's fears, however. The original venue for the first Test was Ahmedabad in Gujarat, which was ruled out both because of its proximity to Mumbai, and because it was the scene of serial bomb blasts three months ago.

Chennai, which hosted South Africa during their Test tour earlier in the year, was offered as an alternate for the first Test because it is seen as having the least threat perception from a security point of view, which will help ease the immediate fears some of the England players have over touring India. The ECB had specifically asked for a southern Indian venue for the second Test, instead of Mumbai, and Chennai was the original replacement. They have now been offered Mohali, a satellite town to Chandigarh in the north of the country. From a logistical point of view, the venue's proximity to Delhi should enable the tour party to obtain an easy passage back to England at the end of the tour and allow the squad to link up with their families for Christmas. Besides, Mohali could not have hosted the first Test because it needed time to have the logistics and ground support in place, particularly with Punjab Cricket Association president IS Bindra currently out of the country.

Despite the itinerary changes, the ECB could send a weakened squad to return to India, with the national selector, Geoff Miller, insisting that no player would jeopardise their prospects of future selection if they chose not to tour. Three senior players are already believed to have ruled themselves out: Andrew Flintoff, who also suffered an ankle injury during last week's fifth ODI; James Anderson, whose wife is pregnant, and Steve Harmison.

Value of Career Education!!

Education is a must for everyone in todays world.
