(wink) I still have a lot of unpacked boxes in the garage from my scrap room since I'm still getting the house and yard in shape. Then my battery in my camera started getting low so I was lucky I was able to snap a couple of pics and upload to the computer. I thought I had lost my battery recharger but thankfully I just forgot it at my sister's house after the tornado. Thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts after the storm hit - again! I'm really loving the new house and I'm hoping to get back into scrapping / card making soon. Just a short post to show some of the photos from the tornado that hit Woodstock, Georgia on April 19th around 11:00 pm. This is the second time in three years - (the very beginning of this blog shows the damage before when a giant oak demolished half of the house) -- We were able to get our move-in date to the new house moved from May 1 to April 23. Can I just say I HATE moving - well I like the new part but hate all of the boxes - thank goodness for a two car garage! ha <div><div><div><div><div><div><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85JF1XI9I/AAAAAAAAAN0/kV8yo2eiH7U/s1600-h/1tor.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332043312177554386" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85JF1XI9I/AAAAAAAAAN0/kV8yo2eiH7U/s320/1tor.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85Jj6YSgI/AAAAAAAAAN8/EwJrRPysud0/s1600-h/2tor.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332043320251664898" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85Jj6YSgI/AAAAAAAAAN8/EwJrRPysud0/s320/2tor.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />The tree that went through the house was twisted off at the root and the others fell on that one.<br /><br /><div></div><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85J6pyKfI/AAAAAAAAAOE/sEdSJpOwfC4/s1600-h/3tor.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332043326356072946" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85J6pyKfI/AAAAAAAAAOE/sEdSJpOwfC4/s320/3tor.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85KE8DUcI/AAAAAAAAAOM/vMQiRRDy0uo/s1600-h/4tor.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332043329117049282" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85KE8DUcI/AAAAAAAAAOM/vMQiRRDy0uo/s320/4tor.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85Kb5IjKI/AAAAAAAAAOU/XQORHoua_cE/s1600-h/5tor.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332043335278824610" style="WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85Kb5IjKI/AAAAAAAAAOU/XQORHoua_cE/s320/5tor.jpg" border="0" /></a> This one tore up the water and cable lines.<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85itTC2NI/AAAAAAAAAOc/uidFHuZZobE/s1600-h/6tor.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332043752267765970" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85itTC2NI/AAAAAAAAAOc/uidFHuZZobE/s320/6tor.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85jT4LrhI/AAAAAAAAAOk/PxaI2O4HIuk/s1600-h/7tor.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332043762624081426" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/Sf85jT4LrhI/AAAAAAAAAOk/PxaI2O4HIuk/s320/7tor.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>The driveway with trees ----- finally got to the car </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23625279-5082877084260420284?l=micebites.blogspot.com'/></div>Lynn P.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11521318865475573224noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23625279.post-34775357547589712272009-04-17T23:38:00.005-04:002009-04-17T23:51:55.971-04:00Easter BasketsJust a quick post to show the Easter baskets I made for my sister to take to work with her. We went next door to my sister's for a delicious ham dinner and all of the trimmings. I think I ate more than anyone else - I ate <strong>3 </strong>rolls and a second helping of ham. Oh boy am I stuffed. <br /><br />Just spoke to Mom a little while ago. She had a great Easter in Florida with my other sister and her grandkids and great-grandkids. She's really enjoying her stay down there. I told her about the house and we expected that she would want to come back home before the move. Surprise - she told told me I'd better be careful packing up her room and have the house nicely decorated before she came home!! That ole woman never ceases to surprise me.<br /><br />Have you heard about <a href="http://www.mycutestamps.com/">My Cute Stamps</a>? They have got some sooooo cute stamps and on <a href="http://creatingcupcakes.blogspot.com/">Creating Cupcakes </a>blog is an Easter stamp giveaway. We received news today that it's all clear on the new house. YEAH!!! It's in the next sub-division over from where we are now but so much better. We're kind of glad Mom is in Florida for a few weeks so we can really clean out the basement/garage. <div><div><div><div><div><br /><div></div><div>Patty-Cakes has an appointment Monday to get spayed. She puts colors together that I just wouldn't think of and here is another one. </div></div><br /><p></p><br /><p>I really had a hard time with this one. At first I had brown as the main color, then I used Spring Moss as the background, and I didn't really care for either. Any -whoooo - this is what I came up with -- Stampers Select White as the background, Dark Chocolate, and Spring Moss on the rectangles. I grabbed some Fancy Pants chipboard that I've had forever and colored with 'teal-like' Metallic Rub-ons and glitter glue. Used a brown pencil for the lines on the outside and Mixed Messages for the sentiment. Rather simple but I like it. As I was tiptoeing through the web I came across <a href="http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/">The Cuttlebug Spot </a>blog and decided to join in this weeks challenge. The challenge is - Celebrate Spring. I used the DeVine Swirl and Swiss Dot embossing folders and the oval slider die. I finally pulled out some old punches that haven't see the light of day in like - forever - using them to make the flowers and leaves. Since the theme is Celebrate Spring I used the Celebrate Today stamp from Mixed Messages by <a href="http://www.papertreyink.com/index.html">PTI</a>. Also all cardstock is PTI - love this stuff. </div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23625279-4953081298440610769?l=micebites.blogspot.com'/></div>Lynn P.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11521318865475573224noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23625279.post-27495189483669333672009-03-25T15:35:00.021-04:002009-03-25T18:23:01.903-04:00Papertrey Blog Hop<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/ScqHs1OCElI/AAAAAAAAAJg/55p9sjoSNPk/s1600-h/bloghoplogo.gif"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317211514334220882" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 251px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 198px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/ScqHs1OCElI/AAAAAAAAAJg/55p9sjoSNPk/s320/bloghoplogo.gif" border="0" /></a> This is my first <a href="http://www.papertreyink.com/index.html">Papertrey Ink </a>Blog Hop and I'm really excited to hop around all of the other blogs that are particpating and seeing what I know are going to be some fab creations.<br /><br />Here is the challenge for this month:<br /><em><span style="color:#990000;">March Blog HopBackground building sets have rapidly become one of Papertrey's signature traits. Nichole Heady has a little guessing game going on over at her blog <a href="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/">capture the moment</a> to go along with the introduction of buttons to their fabulous line of products. Here is a card for the "Over the Rainbox Challenge" that Nichole has on her blog. I had Pure Poppy and Ocean Tides, the other colors I got as close as I could with some Bazzill cardstock I had. The stamps are from PTI's Little Lady. The card is really simple and I keep wanting to add more to it but I'll leave it be so I can get it uploaded before the deadline. <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299950484904905442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 315px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 206px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/SY004rvqiuI/AAAAAAAAADA/EqAmo9fCQ_Y/s320/6a00d8341c64e753ef0105371108b1970b-450wi.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299952463601792130" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 332px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 259px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KIZjSd0Jht4/SY02r29w9II/AAAAAAAAADI/DRkEInKkS7k/s320/100_2545.jpg" border="0" /><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23625279-4676287341004684736?l=micebites.blogspot.com'/></div>Lynn P.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11521318865475573224noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23625279.post-84562164307383776952009-01-17T11:06:00.003-05:002009-02-07T02:40:39.904-05:00Baby it's COLD outside<div><div><div>Brrrrrrrr -- 16 degrees!
